These Wheelock CH70 Square Chimes provide a low
current draw, a choice of single‑stroke or vibrating
operation, an adjustable sound level, and a chime tone
adjustable from 800 Hz to 1200 Hz. They also have an
attached mounting plate for easy indoor installation on
a variety of electrical boxes.

Functions

Sound Mode Settings

The chimes are factory set in single‑stroke mode. They
can be changed to vibrating mode before wiring by
moving a jumper.
Single‑Stroke Mode
The minimum input pulse duration must be at least
160 ms on and 160 ms off. The chime only operates
once each time it is pulsed. Use this mode for coded
systems.
Vibrating Mode
Continuous input voltage must be applied to the chime
to activate the chime at 1 sec intervals.

Volume and Tone Settings

The volume and tone controls are factory set to ensure
maximum dBA output. The volume and tone can be
tuned to suit a particular application, but appropriate

Module, the FPD-7024 and D7024 become
addressable fire alarm control panels (FACPs).

(5.4 cm) deep with a 1.5 in. (3.8 cm) deep extension
ring.
Use as Combination Appliance
Where combination appliances are required, the CH70
Chimes can be used with the RSSP‑241575W‑FR
(15/75 cd), RSSP‑24MCW‑FR (15 cd, 30 cd, 75 cd, or
110 cd), or RSSP‑24MCWH‑FR (135 cd or 185 cd)
Retrofit Strobe Plates that are designed to meet or
exceed the latest requirements of NFPA 72,
ANSI 117.0 and UL 1971. The chimes and retrofit
strobe plates are also compatible with the SBL2‑R
Retrofit Device Back Box.

Wiring

The input terminals accept wires with diameters
between 18 AWG and 12 AWG (ISO 0.75 mm2 and
4 mm2).
