These Wheelock CH70 Multi‑candela, Wall‑mount
Chime Strobes provide a low current draw, a choice of
single‑stroke or vibrating operation, an adjustable
sound level, a chime tone adjustable from 800 Hz to
1200 Hz, and a choice of four light output intensities
(15 cd, 30 cd, 75 cd, or 110 cd) in one unit. The
strobes can be synchronized using SM (single) or DSM
(dual) modules. They also have an attached mounting
plate for easy indoor installation on a variety of
electrical boxes.
Functions
Sound Mode Settings
The chimes are factory set in single‑stroke mode. They
can be changed to vibrating mode before wiring by
moving a jumper.
Single‑Stroke Mode
The minimum input pulse duration must be at least
160 ms on and 160 ms off. The chime only operates
once each time it is pulsed. Use this mode for coded
systems.
Vibrating Mode
Continuous input voltage must be applied to the chime
to activate the chime at 1 sec intervals.

or 110 cd
Strobe Settings
The unit comes set at 15 cd. Change the setting using
a screwdriver in the slot in the unit's base (setting is
visible on indicator plate within the lens).
Volume and Tone Settings
The volume and tone controls are factory set to ensure
maximum dBA output. The volume and tone can be
tuned to suit a particular application, but appropriate
measurements must be taken to ensure the volume
meets the listing requirements for private mode fire
protective service per UL464.

For synchronization, use the SM or DSM modules
with these control panels. The synchronization module
must be set for 24 V operation. When used, the D7022
must be set for 24 VDC operation.

addressable fire alarm control panels (FACPs).
