UEFI BIOS Setup
Introduction
The purpose of this manual is to describe the settings in the AMI UEFI BIOS Setup
program on this motherboard. T he S etup program allows users to modify the basic
system configuration and save these settings to NVRAM.
UEFI BIOS determines what a computer can do without accessing programs from a
disk. This sys t em co ntrols most of the input and outp ut d evices s uch as keybo ard,
mouse, s erial por ts and dis k drives. BIOS act iva tes at the f irs t st age o f the boot ing
process, lo ading and ex ecuting t he op er ating system. Some add itional feat ures, s uch
as vir us and pass word protect io n or chips et f ine -t uning op tions are also includ ed in
UEFI BIOS.
The rest of this manual will to guide yo u through the options and settings in UEFI
BIOS Setup.

EPA Green PC Support
This AMI UEF I BIOS suppo rts Vers ion 1. 03 of the EPA Green PC spec ification.
ACPI Support
AMI ACPI UEFI BIOS supp o rt Vers ion 1.0/2.0 o f Ad v anced Configur at io n and
Power interface specificatio n (ACPI). It provides ASL code for power
management and device configuratio n capabilities as defined in the ACPI
spec ification, developed by Microsoft, Intel and Toshiba.
PCI Bus Support
This AMI UEFI BIOS a lso s uppo rts Vers ion 2.3 of the Intel PCI (P eriphe ral
Component Interconnect) local b us specification.
DRAM Support
DDR3 SDRAM (Double Data Rate III Synchronous DRAM) is supported.

Using Setup
Whe n starting up the c o mput er, press
<Del> during the Power-On Self-Test
(POST) to enter t he UEFI BIOS setup
utility.
In the UEFI BIOS setup utility, you will
see General Help description at the top
right corner, and this is providing a brief
descriptio n of the selected item.
Navigation Ke ys for that particular menu
are at the bottom right corner, and you can
use these keys to select item and c h ange
the settings.

z The default UEFI BIOS settings apply for most conditions to ensure optimum
performance of the motherboard. If the system beco mes unstable after c hanging
any settings, p leas e load t he default settings to ensure system’s comp atibility and
stability. Us e Load Setup Default under the Exit Menu.
z For better system performance, the UEFI BIOS firmware is being continuously
updated. T he UEF I BIO S in for mation describ ed in this manual is for your referenc e

1 Main Menu
Once you enter AMI UEFI BIOS Setup Utility, the Main Menu will appear on the
screen providing an overview of the basic system information.
BIOS Information
Shows s ystem info rmation including UEFI BIOS version, Project Code, Model
Name, Build Date, etc.
Total Memor y
Shows system memory size, VGA s hard memo ry will b e excluded.
System Date
Set the system date. Note that the ‘Day’ automatically changes when you set the
date.
System Time
Set t he syst em int ernal c loc k.

2 Advanced Menu
The Advanced Menu allows you to configure the settings of CPU, Super I/O, Power
Management, and other system devices.

When the comp uter is booted up, the operating system executes the CPUID
instruction to identify the processor and its capab ilities. Before it can do so, it must
first query the processor to find out the highest input value CPUID recognizes. This
determines the kind of basic information CPUID can provide the operating s ystem.

Legacy USB Support
