This guide presents step-by-step instructions to replace the wall bracket, base foot, and gooseneck
and handheld microphones for NPX Paging Stations.
SUGGESTED TOOLS
• Release tool or small Phillips screwdriver (maximum 3/16” 4.7 mm
diameter)
• TR-10 Allen wrench
• Magnetic screwdriver or magnet to extract the screws (optional)
• Wrench or socket wrench (for Gooseneck only)

FOOT REPLACEMENT
HANDHELD & GOOSENECK
1. Detach the foot from the NPX base by inserting a small Phillips screwdriver or similar tool, with a
maximum diameter of 3/16” (4.7mm), into the hole.
2. Press and hold the tool in the hole and slide the foot to the left and lift it away from the unit.
3. Reverse the previous instructions to install the new foot. Ensure it is secure by listening for a click.

1. Use instructions from previous page to remove the foot from the NPX base. Slide the mounting
plate located at the back of the unit to the left and lift it away from the device.
2. Reverse the previous instructions to install the new back plate.

BACK COVER REMOVAL

1. Gently peel back a corner of each of the 4 rubber adhesive pads at the back of the unit to expose
the screws beneath (peeling back just the corner allows for reuse of the pads).
2. Remove the 4 screws with a TR-10 Allen wrench.
NOTE: Use a magnetic screwdriver or magnet to more easily extract the screws.

3. Gently pry the back and front apart by starting at the corner of the unit near the Kensington lock
slot.
4. After creating a small opening, carefully run a tool or your nger along the seam to gradually
separate the parts completely.
5. Follow the handheld or gooseneck microphone installation instructions starting on page 6.

1. Disconnect the microphone plug from the connector.
2. Lift the cord from the holder.

3. Extract the microphone and associated wiring by pulling the cord through the hole.

1. Thread the cord back through the hole and rmly press it down into the holder.

2. Insert the cord plug it into the connector.

3. Align the RJ-45 port with the corresponding hole, then lower the back onto the front of the unit.

4. Tighten the 4 screws at the back cover.
5. Replace the rubber adhesive pads to cover the screws.
6. Reverse the previous instructions to install the new foot, and ensure it is secure by listening for a
click.

1. Unplug the microphone cord from the connector.
2. Use a wrench or socket wrench to unscrew the 11/16” (17mm) nut from the base of the unit. Set
aside until the replacement microphone is ready to be installed.

3. Remove the microphone by pulling the stem and associated wiring through the hole.
NOTE: Do not remove the grounding wire positioned under the microphone nut.

1. Install the new microphone by threading the associated wire and microphone stem through the
hole, ensuring it passes through the grounding loop.
2. Securely tighten the nut onto the microphone stem until it ts snugly. Avoid over-tightening.

3. Insert the cord plug it into the connector.
4. Align the RJ-45 port with the corresponding hole, then lower the back onto the front of the unit.
