• Do not step on the edge of the scale; otherwise it may tip.

• Strong electromagnetic fields (e.g. cell phones) may impair the accuracy of the scale.

• The scale is not intended to be used for commercial purposes.

• Repairs may only be performed by an authorized service center. Contact Customer Service with any

questions regarding operation, usage, or repair of this product.

Packaging materials are a deadly hazard for children and can cause suffocation. Remove all packaging
materials immediately and keep them away from children at all times.

• Do not drop the scale or drop any objects on it.

• Do not use the unit on slippery surfaces such as wet floors. There is a danger of slipping.

• Do not step on the scale if you weigh more than 400 lb (181.4 kg/28.57 st).

• Do not use this product for any purpose other than weighing human beings.

• Place the scale on level flooring, otherwise it may tip.

3. Interesting facts

3.1 Weighing correctly

•Place the scale on a hard, plane level floor (no carpet); a firm floor covering is required for correct

measurement.

•If possible, always weigh yourself at the same time of day (preferably in the morning) striving for comparable

conditions, on an empty stomach and unclothed, in order to achieve comparable results.

•Stand still and upright during measurement.

3.2 General notes

•The capacity of the scale is 400 lb (181.4 kg/28.57 st).

• The results are shown in 0.2 lb increments (100 g / 0.02 st).

•

On delivery the scale is set to the unit “lb”. A switch located on the back of the scale enables you to change
to “kg” or “st”.

4. Batteries

BATTERY SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

1. Use only the size and type of batteries specified.

2. Be sure to follow the correct polarity when installing the batteries. Reversed batteries may cause damage
to the device.

3. If the batteries in the device are depleted or the device will not be used for a long period of time, remove
the batteries to prevent damage or injury from possible battery leakage.

4. Do not try to recharge batteries not intended to be recharged; they can overheat and rupture (follow bat­tery manufacturer’s directions.)

5. Do not dispose of batteries in fire, batteries may explode or leak.

6. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation.

7. Remove discharged batteries from the product and dispose/recycle in compliance with all applicable laws.

If present, remove the battery insulating strip or remove the battery’s protective film and
insert the battery according to the polarity. If the scale fails to operate, remove the battery
completely and reinsert it. Replace the battery cover carefully.

A new battery will last for approximately 2 years if the scale is used three times per day.
The trial battery supplied with the unit may have a shorter life. Remove battery if you do not intend to use
the scale for longer periods before placing the device in storage.

Your scale is equipped with a “replace battery” indicator. When the battery is weak, “Lo” appears in the display
field and the scale automatically switches off. The battery must be replaced (1 x 3 V lithium battery CR2032).

5. Operation

This scale is used to determine the weight of human beings and has a maximum weight of 400 lb (181.4
kg/28.57 st).
Place the scale on a hard, plane level floor (no carpet); a firm floor covering is required for correct measure­ment.

Note: For first use and relocation

In order to ensure accurate results it is recommended to reset the scale to “0”.

•Step on to the scale for one second and then step off.

•The scale shows “0.0 lb” (kg/st).

•It will shut off automatically after several seconds.

6. Cleaning, maintenance and disposal

NOTICE:

•Protect the scale against hard knocks, moisture, dust, chemicals, major temperature fluctuations and

heat sources which are too close (e.g. stoves, heating radiators). This may damage the unit.

•Do not use any aggressive solvents, cleaning agents, detergents or any other strong chemicals to

clean the device.

•Never immerse and or spill water or any other liquid onto the scale, otherwise liquid will enter the

scale and cause damage.

•Observe the local regulations for material disposal. Dispose of the device in accordance with local

regulations.

•Never attempt to repair the instrument or adjust it yourself. This may damage the unit and impair

the functions. If you need to have the unit repaired, please contact our customer service. Please see
warranty for service contact. Before submitting any complaint, first check the battery and replace it
if necessary.

•Changes or modifications to the device will nullify the user warranty.

10. Warranty

Limited Lifetime Warranty For Original Purchaser

Your Beurer Glass Scale, Model GS21, excluding the battery, is warranted to be free from defects in mate­rials and workmanship for the life of the product under normal conditions of intended use and service. This
warranty extends only to the original retail purchaser and does not extend to retailers or subsequent owners.
We will, at our option, repair or replace the Beurer Glass Scale, Model GS21, without additional charge, for any
part or parts covered by these written warranties. No refunds will be given. Repair or replacement is our only
responsibility and your only remedy under this written warranty. If replacement parts for defective materials
are not available, Beurer reserves the right to make product substitutions in lieu of repair or replacement.
For warranty service contact our customer service department at 1-800-536-0366 or at [e-mail] to
provide a description of the problem. If the problem is deemed to be within the scope of the limited lifetime
warranty, you will be asked to mail the product at your costs in its original package with proof of purchase,
your name, address and phone number. If the problem is not deemed to be within the scope of the limited
lifetime warranty, we will provide a quotation for repair respectively replacement and return shipping fee.
This warranty does not cover damage caused by misuse or abuse; accident; the attachment of unautho­rized accessory; alteration to the product; improper installation; misapplication; lack of reasonable care with
respect to the product; unauthorized repairs or modifications; improper use of electrical/power supply; old
worn batteries; normal wear; loss of power; dropped product; malfunction or damage of an operating part
as a result of failure to comply with instructions for use or to provide manufacturer’s recommended mainte­nance; transit damage; theft; neglect; vandalism; or environmental conditions; loss of use during the period
the product is at a repair facility or otherwise awaiting parts or repair; or any other conditions whatsoever
that are beyond the control of Beurer. This warranty is void if the product is ever used in a commercial or
business environment. The maximum liability of Beurer under this warranty is limited to the purchase price
actually paid by the customer for the product covered by the warranty, as confirmed by proof of purchase,
regardless of the amount of any other direct or indirect damage suffered by the customer.
This warranty is effective only if the product is purchased and operated in the country in which the product
is purchased. A product that requires modifications or adaptation to enable it to operate in any other country
than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or authorized, or repair of products
damaged by these modifications is not covered under this warranty.

THE WARRANTY PROVIDED HEREIN SHALL BE THE SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE WARRANTY. ANY IM­PLIED WARRANTIES, OBLIGATIONS, OR LIABILITES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED
WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE LIMITED IN
DURATION TO THE DURATION OF THIS APPLICABLE WRITTEN WARRANTY. Some states do not allow

limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitations may not apply to you.

IN NO EVENT SHALL BEURER BE LIABLE FOR ANY SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, INDIRECT OR CONSE­QUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF THIS OR ANY OTHER WARRANTY, EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR
ANY OTHER THEORY OF LIABILITY, WHATSOEVER. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation

of special, incidental, or consequential damages, so the above limitation may not apply to you.
Beurer does not authorize anyone, including, but not limited to, retailers, the subsequent consumer purchaser
of the product from a retailer or remote purchaser, to obligate Beurer in any way beyond the terms set forth
herein.
This warranty does not extend to the purchase of opened, used, repaired, repackaged and/or resealed pro­ducts, including but not limited to sale of such products on Internet auction sites and/or products by surplus
or bulk resellers. Any and all warranties or guarantees shall immediately cease and terminate in connection
with any products or parts thereof which are repaired, replaced, altered, or modified, without the prior ex­plicitly written consent of Beurer.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights which may vary from state
to state.

3.1 Pesaje correcto

•Coloque la báscula en un piso plano, sólido y nivelado (no en una alfombra); se requiere un recubrimiento

de piso firme para obtener mediciones correctas.

•Si es posible, siempre pésese a la misma hora del día (de preferencia en la mañana) tratando de estar en las

mismas condiciones, con el estómago vacío y sin ropa, con la finalidad de lograr resultados comparables.

•Párese quieto y derecho durante la medición.

3.2 Notas generales

•La capacidad de la báscula es 400 lb (181.4 kg/28.57 st).

•Los resultados se muestran en incrementos de 0.2 lb

• Cuando se entrega, la báscula está configurada en la unidad „lb“ (libra). Un interruptor en la parte posterior

de la báscula le permite cambiar a “kg” o “st”.

4. Baterías

PRECAUCIONES PARA LA BATERÍA

1. Mantenga las baterías lejos del alcance de los niños y las mascotas. Las baterías pueden ser dañinas

en caso de ingestión. Si un niño o una masco ta llegan a ingerir una batería, busque atención médica
de inmediato.

2. Use únicamente el tamaño y tipo de baterías indicadas.

3. Asegúrese de que coloca las baterías con la polaridad adecuada. Las baterías colocadas con la po-

laridad invertida pueden dañar el dispositivo.

4. No utilice tipos diferentes de baterías simultáneamente (por ejemplo, baterías alcalinas con baterías de

carbono-zinc o con baterías recargables) o baterías antiguas con baterías nuevas. Cuando sustituya
las baterías, sustitúyalas todas al mismo tiempo.

5. Si las baterías en el dispositivo están agotadas o no se va a utilizar el dis positivo durante un periodo

de tiempo prolongado, retire las baterías para evitar daños o lesiones por un posible derrame de la
batería.

6. No intente recargar baterías que no han sido diseñadas para ello; se pue den sobrecalentar y romperse

(siga las instrucciones del fabricante de las baterías).

7. No arroje las baterías al fuego, ya que podrían explotar o producirse un derrame.

8. Limpie los contactos de la batería y también los del dispositivo antes de colocar las baterías. Retire

las baterías descargadas del dispositivo y deseche/recicle en cum plimiento de la legislación aplicable.

Si está presente, retire la cinta de aislamiento de la batería o remueva la película
protectora de la batería y coloque la batería de acuerdo con la polaridad. Si la báscula no
funciona, retire la batería y vuelva a colocarla. Coloque con cuidado la tapa de la batería.

Las baterías nuevas durarán aproximadamente dos años si se usa la báscula tres veces
al día. La batería de prueba incluidas con la báscula pueden durar menos tiempo. Si no va a usar la báscula
durante un periodo largo, remueva la batería antes de guardar la báscula.

La báscula está equipada con un indicador de “cambio de batería”. Cuando la batería está débil, aparece
“Lo” en la pantalla y la báscula se apaga automáticamente. La batería debe reemplazarse (1 batería de litio
de 3 V CR2032).

5. Funcionamiento

Esta báscula se usa para determinar el peso de personas y tiene una capacidad máxima de 400 lb (181.4
kg / 28.57 st).
Coloque la báscula en un piso plano, sólido y nivelado (no en una alfombra); se requiere un recubrimiento
de piso firme para obtener mediciones correctas.

Nota: Para primer uso y reubicación

•Proteja la báscula contra golpes fuertes, humedad, polvo, químicos, cambios de temperatura con-

siderables y fuentes de calor demasiado cercanas como estufas y radiadores de calor. Esto puede

•No use solventes, limpiadores, detergentes u otros químicos dañinos para limpiar la báscula.

•Nunca sumerja la báscula en agua u otros líquidos ni derrame agua o líquidos sobre la báscula, ya

Limpieza y mantenimiento

Para mantener la báscula en la mejor condición y protegerla contra daños:
Límpiela ocasionalmente con una tela húmeda. No use agentes de limpieza agresivos. La unidad no es
resistente al agua; no la sumerja en agua ni derrame agua sobre ella. Si la báscula se moja, séquela inme­diatamente. Guarde la unidad en un lugar seguro y seco. No exponga el dispositivo a la luz solar directa,
a temperaturas calientes o frías extremas o a la humedad. Limpie completamente cualquier humedad de
la unidad antes de guardarla. Guarde la unidad fuera del alcance de los niños. No someta el dispositivo a
impactos fuertes como dejarla caer al piso. Siempre que use la unidad, siga las instrucciones de este manual.

10. Garantía

Garantía limitada de por vida de la compra original

Su báscula de vidrio de Beurer, modelo GS21, excluyendo la batería, está garantizada de estar libre de
defectos en los materiales y mano de obra durante la vida útil del producto bajo las condiciones normales
del uso y servicio propuestos. Esta garantía se aplica solamente al comprador original y no se extiende a
vendedores minoristas o futuros propietarios.
A nuestra discreción, repararemos o reemplazaremos la báscula de vidrio de Beurer, modelo GS21, sin
cargo adicional, por cualquier parte o partes cubiertas por esta garantía escrita. No se harán reembolsos.
La reparación o reemplazo es nuestra única responsabilidad y el único recurso de usted bajo esta garantía
escrita. Si no hay partes de reemplazo para los materiales defectuosos, Beurer se reserva el derecho de
sustituciones del producto en lugar de reparación o reemplazo.
