7. Blockieren Sie nicht die

from Behringer. You will now be able to transfer all your great
albums from t he vinyl and tape eras into the digital realm
with the help of this easy-to-use device. It f eatures stereo RCA
inputs and outputs to allow both monitoring and recording of
the audio source. The USB connection will work w ith either PCs
or Mac computer s, so no drivers are neede d for installation,
and power is supplied through the USB cable. The sep arate
headphones output allows you to play back your recordings at

ventilation, andnever place the UFO202 on top of an amplier
or in the vicini ty ofa heater to avoid the risk ofoverheating.

The current supply is made via the USB connecting cable,
sothat there is no external power supply unit required.

Therefore, no installation procedure or drivers are
required for the correct functioning of the UFO202.

To work with the UFO202, your computer must fulll the

connect the unit to your comp uter. The USB connec tion also

(3) GROUND CONNECTION: Some record players have a

separate ground cable. Ifso, attach the c able to the

(4) LINE/PHONO SWITCH: Move the switch on the top left

to PHONO if transferring from a record player. For all other
sources, select LINE.

◊ ◊ Note: The PHONO input s only support moving

magnet cartridges. These are the most common type,
so unless you know your player uses a moving coil
cartridge, assume that your system will work.

(5) HEADPHONES OUTPUT: Plug your headphones into the

PHONES output using a 1/8" mini plug.

(6) HEADPHONES VOLUME: Adjust the headphones volume

with the adjacentcontrol.

(7) USB CABLE: Plug t he USB cable into a free USB port on

yourcomputer.

(8) POWER INDICATOR: Upon connection, the UFO’s

power indicator will light up and the computer should
automatically recognize the conne ction.

5.1 Hooking up a record player

1. To transfer music f rom a record player, a special
preamplic ation process must take place in order to boost
the low signal level coming from the player. To do this,
simplymove the LINE /PHONO switch on the UFO202 to the
right(PHONOselected).

2. Connec t a stereo RCA cable from the record player output s
to the RCA inputs on the UFO202. The player will also likely
have a ground cable that needs to be attached to the
ground terminal on the UFO202.

5.2 Hooking up a tape player

1. Move the LINE/PHONO switch on the UFO202 to the left
(LINEselected).

2. Connec t a stereo RCA cable from the tape player outputs
to the RCA inputs on the UFO202.

3. Connect a monitoring device. You may plug speakers into
the RCA outputs or conne ct a pair of headphones to the
PHONESoutput.

4. Connec t the attached USB cable to a free USB por t on
yourcomputer.

6. Recording Process

• • Af ter hookups have been made and software installed,

youareready to record the audio. Make sure your audio
recording program is set to record input from the USB
port. Forsimple record, cut, and exp ort of stereo audio,
you may prefer to useAudacity

• • If recording from a tape player, make sure the player’s

volume is turned up all the way

• • Adjus t the input sensitivit y of the recording program to

achieve optimal sound qualit y. Too much signal will cause
the recording to distor t; too little signal will sound faint
and thin, so record a test clip to ensure qualit y sound.

the levels as the audio streams

• • Set your recording program on your computer to

RECORD, andbegin playing the star t of the tape or record
immediatelyafter

• • Le t the audio play all the way through t he rst side.

• • Once both sides are recorded, you may edit the le to cut

out any extra time before or after the audio was c aptured.
You may also cut the long tr ack into individual songs
and save the les separately. This process diers slightly
depending on what program you are using, so refer to the
soft ware manual for editing procedures

• • You can play bac k your stereo recorded audio through the

UFO202 RCA output s and PHONES output. You may want
to apply equalization or other processing if your sof tware
application is so equipped
