These instructions cover the installation of the new Baum Turbo Wheel Up-Grade Kit for
existing Baum 714XLT Air Feed Table Top Folders and Baum Flexifold Automated
Table Top Folders in the field.
This kit consists of a new Baum Turbo Suction Wheel complete with bearings and a
detailed instruction manual on how to install it.
You will need a 2.5 mm hex key and a 3 mm hex key to do this up-grade.
1) The first thing you need to do is to
disconnect the air and suction hose
from the feed table and remove the
feed table from the folder.

2) Loosen the set screw which locks
the front blow tube in place using a
2.5 mm hex key.
3) Slide the front blow tube out of the
caliper body and move it out of the
way.
4) Locate the (6) 4mm flat head screws
securing the feed wheel drive
assembly to the feed table.
5) Remove the screws using a 2.5 mm
hex wrench and set them aside as
you will need these later.
6) Carefully lift up the Feed Table and
set the feed table aside. The Feeder
Drive Assembly will remain on the
table.
7) Remove the (4) 4mm soc hd cap
screws holding the plate for the
vacuum manifold assembly in
place using a 3 mm hex wrench.
8) Separate the vacuum adapter from
the old feed wheel.
9) Slide the old sucker wheel off the
shaft.
10) Slide the new sucker wheel on the
shaft
11) Re-install the vacuum adapter
12) Secure plate for vacuum adapter
using the (4) soc hd cap screws
removed in step #7.
Make sure the feed wheel spins freely
and that the lip of the vacuum adapter
is mated up against the feed wheel.
13) Place the Feed Wheel Assembly
back flat on table.
14) Position the Feed Table over the
Feed Wheel assembly and line up the
(6) mounting holes.
Re-install the (6) 4mm flat head screws
removed in step #5 and once all have
been started tighten them using a 2.5
mm hex key.
15) Slide the Blow Tube back into
mounting bracket
16) Align the scribe marks on the
blow tube and tighten the set screw
locking the blow tube into position.
17) Sight down the front edge of the
orange sheet detector tab to make sure
it is even with the edge of the vacuum
manifold.
18) If the sheet detector tab is not in
proper alignment loosen the (4)
screws holding the rack adapted plate
in place ( two on each side) and move
the front gear rack forward or
backwards to line up the orange tab.
When you have finished aligning the
tab re-tighten the screws.
19) Re-install the feed table back into
your folder and reconnect the air and
vacuum hoses.
You are now ready to run paper through your up dated Baum 714XLT or
Baum Flexifold.
Due to the superior performance of the new Turbo Suction wheel you will want to
reduce the amount of vacuum or you may start pulling doubles.
