Onceconnected,theAxisproductisaccessibleonyourlocalnetwork(LAN).ToaccesstheproductfromtheInternetyoumust
congureyournetworkroutertoallowincomingdatatrafctotheproduct.Todothis,enabletheNAT-traversalfeature,which
willattempttoautomaticallyconguretheroutertoallowaccesstotheproduct.ThisisenabledfromSetup>SystemOptions>
Network>TCP/IPAdvanced.

SettheRootPassword

ToaccesstheAxisproduct,youmustsetthepasswordforthedefaultadministratoruserroot.ThisisdoneintheCongureRoot
Passworddialog,whichopenswhentheproductisaccessedforthersttime.

Topreventnetworkeavesdropping,therootpasswordcanbesetviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,whichrequiresanHTTPS
certicate.HTTPS(HypertextTransferProtocoloverSSL)isaprotocolusedtoencrypttrafcbetweenwebbrowsersandservers.The
HTTPScerticateensuresencryptedexchangeofinformation.SeeHTTPS,onpage41.

Thedefaultadministratorusernamerootispermanentandcannotbedeleted.Ifthepasswordforrootislost,theproductmustbe
resettothefactorydefaultsettings.SeeResettoFactoryDefaultSettings,onpage52.

TosetthepasswordviaastandardHTTPconnection,enteritdirectlyinthedialog.

TosetthepasswordviaanencryptedHTTPSconnection,followthesesteps:

Atemporarycerticate(validforoneyear)iscreated,enablingencryptionofalltrafctoandfromtheproduct,andthe
passwordcannowbesetsecurely.

Thecapturemodesettingreducesimageickerinuorescentlightenvironments.Selectthecapturemodewiththepowerline
frequency(50Hzor60Hz)usedatthelocationoftheAxisproductandclickOK.

Whenusing50Hz,themaximumframerateislimitedto25fps.

Note

Powerlinefrequencyisdifferentindifferentgeographicregions.IntheAmericas,60Hzisusuallyused;mostotherpartsof
theworlduse50Hz.Localvariationsmayapply,alwayscheckwiththelocalauthorities.
