Ethernet and PoE connections both restrict cable distances to 100 meters (328 ft.) between network
ports. To overcome this distance limit, network installers can simply connect an AXIS T8129 PoE
Extender in-line with the Cat-5e or Cat-6 cable.

With AXIS T8129 PoE Extender, Axis’ network video prod­ucts can be installed at greater distances than 100 m
(328 ft.) from one another. By connecting AXIS T8129 for
every extra 100 m (328 ft.) of cable, both Ethernet and
PoE can be extended to 200 m (656 ft.), 300 m (984 ft.),
or even greater distances; depending on camera model
and power source.

AXIS T8129 PoE Extender is compatible with all Axis
network video products supporting PoE. Range depends
on the power required, so a 25 watt PTZ dome camera
may be located 200 m (656 ft.) away using a single
AXIS T8129. Or, the cable length to a regular 5 watt
network camera may extend up to 400 m (1312 ft.), by
tting three A XIS T8129 at 100 m (328 ft.) intervals.

AXIS T8129 does not require any additional power supply
and the connected network camera is fed by a single PoE
switch or midspan, which simplies installation.
AXIS T8129 oers two Ethernet ports, which are both
congured automatically for link speed, duplex and
crossover and the full-rate network throughput is main­tained.
