System Requirements

System requirements are described in detail on the package box. Before
installing the TV tuner card and software, verify that your PC meets the
described requirements.

Hardware Installation

Step 1. Installing the TV Tuner Card

1. Turn off the PC.

2. Remove the cover.

3. Insert the tuner card into an empty
PCI expansion slot on the motherboard.

4. Replace the cover back.

Step 2. Making the Connections

The difference between AVerMedia®
AVerTV 203 and AVerTV Studio 203 is
AVerTV Studio 203 additionally offers
an “FM” port. A “REMOTE” port will be
also available if you purchase the tuner
card with remote control capability.

The figure on the next page shows the cable connections.

Note: All other cables or devices that are shown in the figure are for
explanation purposes only, and are NOT included in AVerMedia’s product
package.

Installing Drivers and the TV Software Utility

After the card is installed properly, turn on the computer. The system will
automatically detect the new device. Simply skip the wizard, and insert the
accompanying installation CD to install the driver and TV software utility
simultaneously.

Installing Drivers and the Application in Windows XP/2000

1. The “Found New Hardware Wizard” dialog box will appear twice. Just click

Cancel for each to skip the Wizard installation procedures.

2. Place the installation CD into the CD-ROM drive.

3. When the installation main screen appears, choose TV Utility Software.

4. When the “License Agreement” dialog box appears, click Yes to accept the
agreement.

5. Click Next.

6. Click Next.

7. If a warning message about digital signature appears twice, click Continue
Anyway or Yes for each.

8. If your system doesn’t have DirectX 9.0 or above installed, the program will
prompt you to install DirectX 9.0. The “Installing Mircosoft(R) DirectX (R)”
dialog box will appear. Follow these steps to install DirectX:

- Choose “I accept the agreement” and click Next.

- Click Next.

- Click Finish.

9. Click Finish to restart the computer. Then both of the drivers and TV software
utility are successfully installed into the system.

Installing Drivers and the Application in Windows 98SE

1. The “Add New Hardware Wizard” dialog box will appear twice. Just click
Cancel for each to skip the Wizard installation procedures.

2. Place the installation CD into the CD-ROM drive.

3. When the installation main screen appears, choose TV Utility Software.

4. When the “License Agreement” dialog box appears, click Yes to accept the
agreement.

5. Click Next.

6. Click Next.

7. If your system doesn’t have DirectX 9.0 or above installed, the program will
prompt you to install DirectX 9.0. The “Installing Mircosoft(R) DirectX (R)”
dialog box will appear. Follow these steps to install DirectX:

- Choose “I accept the agreement” and click Next.

- Click Next.

- Click Finish.

8. Click Finish to restart the computer. Then remove the installation CD.

9. After restart, the system will prompt you to insert the disk labeled “AVerMedia
AVerTV, Bt878 WDM Drivers”, please click OK.

10. Then the system will indicate that the file “tsbyuv.dll” cannot be found. Simply
click Skip File to ignore the message.

11. In Windows 98SE, the system might prompt you to insert the “Windows 98
Second Edition CD-ROM” disk. Then do the following:

- Click OK, and place the Windows 98SE installation CD into the CD-ROM

drive.

- The “Copying Files…” dialog box appears. Click Browse.

- The “Open” dialog box appears. Choose the Win98 folder from <CD-ROM

drive> and then click OK.

- Click OK.

Installing Drivers and the Application in Windows ME

1. The “Add New Hardware Wizard” dialog box will appear twice. Just click
Cancel for each to skip the Wizard installation procedures.

2. Place the installation CD into the CD-ROM drive.

3. When the installation main screen appears, choose TV Utility Software.

4. When the “License Agreement” dialog box appears, click Yes to accept the
agreement.

5. Click Next.

6. Click Next.

7. If your system doesn’t have DirectX 9.0 or above installed, the program will
prompt you to install DirectX 9.0. The “Installing Mircosoft(R) DirectX (R)”
dialog box will appear. Follow these steps to install DirectX:

- Choose “I accept the agreement” and click Next.

- Click Next.

- Click Finish.

8. Click Finish to restart the computer.

9. After restart, the system will indicate that the file “tsbyuv.dll” cannot be found.
Simply click Skip File to ignore the message.

NOTE:

If DirectX 9.0 or above is not installed in your system, usually the installation CD will
automatically install it during the process of installation. Make sure your system has DirectX

9.0 or above installed so that the TV software utility can function properly.

Installing Other Software Utilities

After the driver installation is completed, you can install other software utilities
contained in the installation CD. Place the installation CD into your CD-ROM drive.
The installation main screen will appear as shown below:

Click on the name of the software that you
want to install and follow the on-screen
instructions to complete the installation.
For information on using the software
utilities, refer to the PDF or Help files that
come with the software.

Click Exit to exit the main screen after
finishing the installation.

Uninstalling the TV Software Utility

To remove the installed TV software utility from the system, simply choose Start !
Programs ! AVerTV ! Uninstaller ! Remove Application ! Next ! Finish.

Remote Control

If you purchase AVerMedia® AVerTV 203 / AVerTV Studio 203 with remote
control, you can use the infrared remote control to control TV watching, TV or video
recording, replaying of recorded materials, images capturing and so on. In addition,
the remote control can function as a Remote Mouse by using the arrow keys
(←↑→↓↖↗↘↙) to control the mouse pointer when TV software utility is closed.

Requisitos de sistema

Los requisitos de sistema se describen con detalle en la caja del producto.
Antes de instalar la tarjeta de sintonización de TV y el software, verifique
que su PC satisface los requisitos descritos.

Instalación de hardware

Paso 1. Instalación de la tarjeta de sintonización de TV

1. Apague el PC.

2. Quite la tapa de la torre.

3. Inserte la tarjeta de sintonización
en un slot de expansión PCI vacío de
la placa base.

4. Vuelva a colocar la tapa de la
torre.

Paso 2. Conexiones

La diferencia entre AVerTV 203 y
AVerTV Studio 203 de AVerMedia® es que el AVerTV Studio 203 ofrece
además un puerto “FM”. También dispondrá de un puerto “REMOTO ” si
usted ha adquirido la tarjeta de sintonización con capacidad para soportar
mando a distancia.

La figura de la página siguiente muestra las conexiones de cable.

Nota : los cables o los elementos marcados con un asterisco (
no los suministra AVerMedia, y no se incluirán en el paquete.

Instalación de controladores y la utilidad de software para TV

Una vez instalada la tarjeta adecuadamente, encienda el ordenador. El sistema detectará
automáticamente el nuevo dispositivo. Sáltese el asistente e inserte el CD de instalación
suministrado para instalar el controlador y la utilidad de software para TV simultáneamente.

Instalación de los controladores y la aplicación en Windows XP/2000

1. El cuadro de texto “Se ha encontrado nuevo hardware” aparecerá dos veces. Haga clic en

Cancelar para saltarse dos veces los procedimientos del asistente de instalación.

2. Coloque el CD de instalación dentro de la disquetera de CD- ROM.

3. Cuando aparezca la pantalla principal de instalación, elija Software de
utilidades de TV.

4. Cuando aparezca el cuadro de diálogo sobre el acuerdo de licencia, haga clic en
Sí para aceptarlo.

5. Haga clic en Siguiente.

6. Haga clic en Siguiente.

7. Si aparece dos veces un mensaje de aviso sobre la firma digital, haga clic en
Continue Anyway o en Sí para cada uno.

8. Si su sistema operativo no tiene instalado DirectX 9.0 o una versión superior, el
asistente de instalación le pedirá que instale DirectX 9.0. Cuando aparezca en
pantalla la ventana de diálogo “Instalación de Microsoft(R) para DirectX(R)”
siga los pasos siguientes:

- Seleccione “Aceptar el contrato” y haga click en Siguiente.

- Click en Siguiente nuevamente.

- Por último haga click en Finalizar.

9. Haga clic en Finalizar para reiniciar el ordenador. Continuación los dos controladores y
la utilidad de software de TV quedarán instalados en el sistema.

Instalación de los controladores y la aplicación en Windows 98SE

1. El cuadro de diálogo “Asistente para añadir nuevo hardware” aparecerá dos veces. Haga
clic en Cancelar en cada uno para saltarse el asistente de instalación.

2. Coloque el CD de instalación dentro de la disquetera de CD- ROM.

3. Cuando aparezca la pantalla principal de instalación, elija Software de utilidades de TV.

4. Cuando aparezca el cuadro de diálogo sobre el acuerdo de licencia, haga clic en
Sí para aceptarlo.

5. Haga clic en Siguiente.

6. Haga clic en Siguiente.

7. Si su sistema operativo no tiene instalado DirectX 9.0 o una versión superior, el
asistente de instalación le pedirá que instale DirectX 9.0. Cuando aparezca en
pantalla la ventana de diálogo “Instalación de Microsoft(R) para DirectX(R)”
siga los pasos siguientes:

- Seleccione “Aceptar el contrato” y haga click en Siguiente.

- Click en Siguiente nuevamente.

- Por último haga click en Finalizar.

8. Haga clic en Finalizar para reiniciar el ordenador. Quite el CD de instalación.

9. Despues de reiniciar, el sistema le pide instalar el disco etiquedato de
¨AverMedia Aver TV Bt878 WDM Drivers¨, pon Aceptar.

10. El sistema operativo le indicará que no puede encontrar el archivo “tsbyuv.dll”.
Haga click sobre Omitir Archivo e ignore el mensaje.

11. En Windows 98SE, el sistema le puede pedir que inserte el disco “Windows 98
Second Edition CD- ROM” (CD- ROM de la Segunda Edición de Windows 98),
en caso afirmativo haga lo siguiente:

- Haga clic en Aceptar, y coloque el CD de instalación de Windows 98SE

dentro de la disquetera de CD- ROM.

- Aparece el cuadro de diálogo “Copiando archivos....”. Haga clic en Examinar.

- Aparece el cuadro de diálogo “Abrir”. Elija la carpeta Win98 del CD- ROM y

haga clic en Aceptar.

- Haga clic en Aceptar.

Instalación de los controladores y la aplicación en Windows ME

1. El cuadro de diálogo “Asistente para añadir nuevo hardware” aparecerá dos veces. Haga
clic en Cancelar en cada uno para saltarse el asistente de instalación.

NOTA:

Si su sistema no tiene instalado DirectX 9.0 o superior, el CD de instalación lo
instalará automáticamente durante el proceso de instalación. Asegúrese de que su
sistema dispone de DirectX 9.0 o superior de modo que la utilidad de software de TV
pueda funcionar correctamente.

Instalación de otras utilidades de software

Una vez completada la instalación del controlador, puede instalar otras utilidades de
software que hay en el CD de instalación. Coloque el CD de instalación dentro de la
disquetera de CD- ROM. Aparecerá la pantalla principal de instalación tal como se
muestra a continuación:

Haga clic sobre el nombre del software
que desea instalar y siga las instrucciones
que aparecen en pantalla para completar
instalación. Para más información sobre
cómo usar las utilidades de software, véase
la ayuda en línea del software.

Haga clic en Salir para salir de la pantalla
principal después de haber finalizado la
instalación.

Desinstalación de la utilidad de software para TV

Para quitar del sistema la utilidad de software para TV instalada, vaya a Inicio !
Programas ! AVerTV ! Desinstalador ! Eliminar Aplicación.

Mando a distancia

Si usted ha adquirido AVerTV 203 / AVerTV Studio 203 de AVerMedia® con
mando a distancia, puede utilizar el mando a distancia con infrarrojos para controlar
imágenes, etc. Además, el mando a distancia puede funcionar como Ratón a
distancia utilizando las flechas (←↑→↓↖↗↘↙) para controlar el puntero del
ratón cuando la utilidad de software para TV está cerrada.
