Enabling PRI on your MICS system

Software keys are used to enable ISDN PRI on your Avaya Norstar Modular ICS system. You

must have a Norstar DTI Card installed in the ICS as well as compatible software (MICS 4.0
or higher). Entering the software keys first allows the ICS to download PRI firmware to a DTI
card which is programmed in
Guide for further details on selecting a card type.

Hardware programming. Please consult your MICS Installer

Step 1: Obtain the System Identification Number

Obtain the System ID (SysID) by pressing ( ) or

any M7324 or M7310 telephone.

Software keys in an Installer programming session:

Step 2: Contact Avaya Support

1 For information about how to obtain the required Software keys to enable ISDN PRI on

your Norstar Modular ICS system, visit www.avaya.com/support and select Support
Contact Options.

SysID: followed by the unique System Identification

Software keys or ( ) to exit.

2 Provide the following information:

• the authorization number printed at the top of this sheet

• the System ID of the ICS
3 You will be given a 24 digit numeric string that contains 3 sets of 8 digits each. Write them in

the space below for Password keys.

Step 3: Enter the keys

Keys are entered by first asscessing Software keys in a programming session.

1 Press . The display reads
2 Press . The display reads
3 Press . The display reads

SysID.

Password keys.

Key 1:.

4 Enter the 8 digit password number for Key 1. Use

Key 2:.

5 Enter the 8 digit password number for Key 2. Repeat as above until you have finished entering

Key 3. The display reads

6 Press until the display reads

Entry successful.

Software keys or ( ) to exit.

Step 4: Consult your Installer Guide

Please consult your MICS Installer Guide for further details on selecting a PRI card type. Once the
card type has been selected, PRI is then enabled for use on your MICS system.
