Introduction
Business Communications Manager Release 5.0 InTouch is an Outlook Add-In user application
that runs on a Windows based PC and integrates Outlook, MSN, and Skype with BCM Call
Management and Control. InTouch optimizes communications by providing consolidated
presence information and by presenting a variety of communication options such as voice, email,
and/or Instant Messaging (IM). InTouch brings together the most popular forms of
communications by providing direct one-touch interaction between telephony, email, calendar and
IM.
Other application software is preloaded on the hard drive including the Element Manager.

InTouch Installation Instructions
InTouch Client Administrator PC Pre-Installation

Full details are in the "Business Communications Manager - InTouch Administration Guide".
LAN CTE client privileges must be configured on the BCM for each user, PC or IP address that
will use InTouch.
Extract from InTouch client update:
InTouch setup (InTouch_setup.exe)
Configuration Manager (InTouchConfigurationManager.exe)
Download from BCM Release 5.0:

Download .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 standalone installer if not installed on user PC’s from
http://www.microsoft.com/net/
Run Configuration Manager (InTouchConfigurationManager.exe) to generate the configuration file
(SettingsMain.xml) which contains site wide information.
Share the following items for installation on the user PC:
.NET 3.5 SP1 standalone installer (dotnetfx35.exe) (if not installed on user PC)
LAN CTE Client Installer
InTouch setup (InTouch_setup.exe) with configuration file (SettingsMain.xml) in the same
directory.
InTouch Client User PC new Installation Instructions
Full details are in the "Business Communications Manager - InTouch User Guide"
Install the latest LAN CTE Client and .Net Framework 3.5 SP1 before installing InTouch.
Run InTouch_setup.exe provided by the administrator with configuration file (SettingsMain.xml) in
the same directory.
Existing InTouch User Installation Instructions
Ensure Outlook is not running on the PC.
Run InTouch_setup.exe provided by the administrator.

Following issues are addressed
1) User can receive an error message Intra-company phone number length must be larger than
internal extension
The user does not see an error message when the intra-company number length entered is the
same length as extensions on the system.

2) CTE does not accept connections
When starting Microsoft Outlook, the Nortel InTouch panel can fail to connect to the BCM. Nortel
InTouch is not available for that user.

If an InTouch user sets either their Voicemail DN to match their InTouch-controlled DN and clicks
the "Forward to Voicemail" button, the Call Forward fails but no error is displayed.

Location settings don't take effect until InTouch is restarted.
If no location is set in the Phone and Modem Options InTouch will present the user with the
Phone and Modem settings dialog to specify one, the changes made in that dialog don't take
effect until InTouch is restarted.
