Vehicle Status Request
The status request feature allows the us er to see the status of the vehicle i. e.: if the doors are locked or unlocked or if the vehicle is in cold weather mode, home valet mode, in valet mode or how much time is left in the run time cyc le. The following charts (Tab les 1, 2, 3 and 4) in dicate the confirmation sequences.
To retrieve the vehicle status:
Press and release the SHIFT button then pres s and rel ease the TRUNK button (there will be a beep) . The transmitter will then flash the corresponding sequence of LEDs depending on the vehicle’s status.

or refer to Table 4 (if the doors are unlocked). The status request feature is a two-step procedure:
The first sequence of flashes denotes if the vehicle’s doors are locked or unlocked.
The second sequence of flashes (if applicable) denotes if the vehicle is Cold weather mode,
Home valet mode, or, Valet mode.
If there is no second sequence transmission, th en the vehic le is none of the thr ee (3) mentione d features (Cold weather mode, Home valet mode or Valet mode).

Remote-Starting Your Vehicle
Setting Your Vehicle into Ready Mode
This product is designed for vehic les with a manual transmission only. In order to s tart the vehicle by remote, the unit must first b e set to Ready Mode. If the unit is not set to Ready M ode, it cannot remote-start the vehicle. Once the system is set to Ready Mode, the vehicle can be remote-started and stopped at wish. The system will exit Ready Mode if a door or the hood is opened, if the brake pedal is pressed, if the parking brake is disengaged or if the ignition key is turned to the
IGNITION ON (RUN) position.
Page 8
P. 8 AS-2360TW User Guide
To set the system to Ready Mode:
1. Ensure that all the doors are closed and that the gear selector is in the neutral position.
2. With the engine already running, apply the parking brake and release the brake pedal.
Make sure to release the brake pedal.
3. Within 20 sec. press LOCK, UNLOCK or START/STOP on the transmitter.
The parking lights will flash 3 times quickly and remain lit.
4. Remove the key: the engine will go on running.
5. Exit the vehicle and close the door.
6. Press and hold either: a. LOCK to lock the doors and shut down the engine; b. UNLOCK to unlock the doors and shut down the engine; c. START/STOP to shut down the engine without affecting the doors.
Remaining In Ready Mode
Once the vehicle is in Ready Mode you can st art and stop the vehicle at wish. However, should any of the following occur, the vehicle will exit Ready Mode – thus eliminating the remote start option until Ready Mode is restored:
Door opened;
Hood ope ned;
Brake pedal pressed;
Park ing brak e dis e nga ged;
Ignition key turned to the IGNITION ON (RUN) position.
Should any of the above occur, Ready Mode will be cancelled.
Note: The uni t will notify the user that it has exited Ready Mode by giving 3 slow flashes (parking lights).
Remote-starting
Press the START/STOP button for approx. 1 second. The p arking lights will come ON to inform you that the Remote Car Starter has receiv ed your signal. Approximately 5 seconds later, the engine will start. The parking lights will remain ON during the pre-programmed run time of the engine.
If the vehicle does not s tart at the fir st attempt, the system will shut down, wait a few seconds and try to start the engine again. There will be 3 start attempts before the system gives up.
Vehicle Presets
Heater & Heated Seat
When leaving the vehicle it is recommended t o preset the acces sory controls in pre paration for the next remote start. Settings for t he blower motor (fan), front and rear, as well as h eated seats (if equipped) should not be left on

instead.
Windshield Wipers & Radio & Headlights
Certain vehicles require the ra dio and / or windshield wiper and / or h eadlight circuits to become energized while running under r emote start. When leaving the vehicle you must ensure that the windshield wiper and headlight s witches are
OFF. Leaving the headlight sw itch ON on certain types
of vehicles could cause them to rem ain
ON even after remote starter shut down, resultin g in a dea d
battery.
Driving Off
With the vehicle running under r emote control, press the
UNLOCK button to disarm and unloc k the
doors. Enter the vehicle and do the following:
Turn the ignition key to the IGNITION ON (RUN) position. (Do not turn the key to the CRANK position while the engine is running. This would cause the starter motor to re-engage.)
Press the brake pedal to disengage the remote starter unit.

Ignition-controlled Door Locks
This is an added security feature. If your Remote Car Starter was installed with the IgnitionControlled Door Locks option, the doors will automatically be locked as soon as the ignition key is turned to the
IGNITION ON (RUN) position while the brakes are pressed. W hen the key is turned to the
OFF position, the doors will automatically be unlocked.
Ignition Re-lock
On Remote Car Starters of this series , when Ignition-controlled Door Locks are enabled and the ignition key is in the
IGNITION ON (RUN) position, should any door be unlock ed and opened, all doors
will be relocked next time the brake pedal is pressed.
Secure Lock
Before it can remote-start your vehicle, the Remote Car Starter must first disarm the factory security system. The Secure Lock feature may be required on certain vehicle mod els with factory security systems that automatically unlock the doors when the security system is disarmed. To keep your vehicle protected when the factory sec urity system is disarmed for a remote start, Secure Lock will relock your doors as soon as the vehicle has started. Once the engine run cycle ends, Secure Lock will rearm your factory security system.
Turbo Mode
When left in Turbo Mode, the Remote Car Starter will keep the engine running for 60 seconds before shutting it down. This is to allow a turbocharger to idle down after the user leaves the vehicle. See Turbo Mode section earlier in this Guide.
Remote Trunk Release
If your system was installed with the remote trunk release option, you can open your trunk by pressing the
TRUNK button for 3 seconds.

Engine Run Time
If you have a gas engine, your Rem ote Car Starter ca n be pro gramm ed to ru n the engine f or 4, 15, or 25 minutes (15 minutes by default). If you have a diesel engine, the Remote Car St arter can be programmed to run the engine for 9, 20, or 30 minutes (20 minutes default).
Extended Run Time
With the vehicle running under a remote s tart, pres sin g and holdi ng the START/STOP button fo r more than 1 second will reset the run time counter to zero and restart the run time cycle from the beginning. To stop the vehicle, at any moment, simply press the
START/STOP button. This procedure can only
be carried out once per remote start. Example: if your Module is pr ogrammed for a run time of 4 minutes and y our vehicle has been running for 3 minutes already , pres si ng the
START/STOP button will reset the counter to zer o and the
Engine will run for another cycle (in this case, 4 minutes).

Troubleshooting Poor Transmitting Range
Many factors may affect the operating range of the transmitter. Some of these are:
The condition of the battery in the transmitter.
The operating environment (for example: downt own radio-frequency noise, airports, cellular
phone towers…)
Metal: any type of metal will affect operating range. This includes the metal in the car.
The shape of the vehicle can affect range as well; vans in general have an especially po or
range.
The shape of the roof and A-pillars brings about consi derable radio-frequency deflection (in
this case the signal from the remote control). As a res ult, the direction in which the vehicl e is facing in relation to the remote control c an affect the range. Straigh t on – standing in front of the vehicle – generally gives you the great es t rang e; the second best performance is from the back. Using the remote control from either side of the vehicle will usually give the lowest range.
The range will be significantly lower in a crowded parking lot than in open space.
Always hold the transmitter high, approximately at shoulder height. Holding the transmitter
against your chin will also increase your range: your head acts as an antenna.
The operating range will be somewhat lower on vehicles equipped with an aftermarket or
factory alarm.
