CERTIFIED
TCO Certified is a third party verified program, where every product model is tested by an accredited impartial test laboratory. TCO Certified represents one of the toughest certifications for displays worldwide.
Some of the Usability features of the TCO Certified for displays:
Good visual ergonomics and image quality is tested to ensure top performance and reduce sight and strain problems. Important parameters are luminance, contrast, resolution, black level, gamma curve, color and luminance uniformity, color rendition and image stability.
Product have been tested according to rigorous safety standards at an impartial laboratory.
Electric and magnetic fields emissions as low as normal household background levels.
Low acoustic noise emissions.

This ensures that your display is designed, manufactured and tested according to some of the strictest quality and environmental requirements in the world. This makes for a high performance product, designed with the user in focus that also minimizes the impact on the climate and our natural environment.
The requirements can be downloaded from our web site. The requirements included in this label have been developed by TCO Development in co-operation with scientists, experts, users as well as manufacturers all over the world. Since the end of the 1980s TCO has been involved in influencing the development of IT equipment in a more user-friendly direction. Our labeling system started with displays in 1992 and is now requested by users and IT manufacturers all over the world. About 50% of all displays worldwide are TCO certified.
For displays with glossy bezels the user should consider the placement of the display as the bezel may cause disturbing reflections from surrounding light and bright surfaces

Safety information

• Before setting up the monitor, carefully read all the documentation that
came with the package.
• To prevent fire or shock hazard, never expose the monitor to rain or
moisture.
• Never try to open the monitor cabinet. The dangerous high voltages
inside the monitor may result in serious physical injury.
• If the power supply is broken, do not try to fix it by yourself. Contact a
qualified service technician or your retailer.
• Before using the product, make sure all cables are correctly connected
and the power cables are not damaged. If you detect any damage, contact your dealer immediately.
• Slots and openings on the back or top of the cabinet are provided for
ventilation. Do not block these slots. Never place this product near or over a radiator or heat source unless proper ventilation is provided.
• The monitor should be operated only from the type of power source
indicated on the label. If you are not sure of the type of power supply to your home, consult your dealer or local power company.
• Use the appropriate power plug which complies with your local power
standard.
• Do not overload power strips and extension cords. Overloading can
result in fire or electric shock.
• Avoid dust, humidity, and temperature extremes. Do not place the
monitor in any area where it may become wet. Place the monitor on a stable surface.
• Unplug the unit during a lightning storm or if it will not be used for a
long period of time. This will protect the monitor from damage due to power surges.
• Never push objects or spill liquid of any kind into the slots on the
monitor cabinet.
• To ensure satisfactory operation, use the monitor only with UL listed
computers which have appropriate configured receptacles marked between 100 ~ 240V AC.
• The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be
easily accessible
• If you encounter technical problems with the monitor, contact a
qualified servic er.
• Provide an earthing connection before the mains plug is connected to
the mains. And, when disconnecting the earthing connection, be sure to disconnect after pulling out the mains plug from the mains.

Care & Cleaning

• Before you lift or reposition your monitor, it is better to disconnect the
cables and power cord. Follow the correct lifting techniques when positioning the monitor. When lifting or carrying the monitor, grasp the edges of the monitor. Do not lift the display by the stand or the cord.
• Cleaning. Turn your monitor off and unplug the power cord. Clean the
monitor surface with a lint-free, non-abrasive cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed with a cloth dampened with mild cleaner.
• Avoid using a cleaner containing alcohol or acetone. Use a cleaner
intended for use with the LCD. Never spray cleaner directly on the screen, as it may drip inside the monitor and cause an electric shock.
The following symptoms are normal with the monitor:
• The screen may flicker during the initial use due to the nature of the
fluorescent light. Turn off the Power Switch and turn it on again to make sure that the flicker disappears.
• You may find slightly uneven brightness on the screen depending on
the desktop pattern you use.
• When the same image is displayed for hours, an afterimage of the
previous screen may remain after switching the image. The screen will recover slowly or you can turn off the Power Switch for hours.
• When the screen becomes black or flashes, or cannot work anymore,
contact your dealer or service center to fix it. Do not repair the screen by yourself!

2.1 Adjusting the monitor

• For optimal viewing, we recommend that you look at the full face of the
monitor, then adjust the monitor to the angle that is most comfortable for you.

• Level 4 is optimized setting. It is compliance with TUV Low Blue Light
Certification. The Brightness function is not user-configurable.
• To alleviate eye strain, rest your eyes for fifteen minutes for every two hours
spent in front of the screen. Frequent blinking and eye exercise helps keep your eye moist to prevent them from drying out. In addition, your computer screen should be placed 20 to 28 inches (50-70cm) away from you.

• Sharpness: Adjusts the picture sharpness. The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
• Trace Free: Speeds up the response time by Over Drive technology. The adjusting range is from lower 0 to faster 100.
• Aspect Control: Adjusts the aspect ratio to “Full”, “4:3”, “Overscan”.
• VividPixel: ASUS Exclusive Technology that brings lifelike visuals for
crystal-clear and detail-oriented enjoyment. The adjusting range is from 0 to 100.
• ASCR: Select ON or OFF to enable or disable dynamic contrast ratio function.
• Adaptive-Sync: It can allow a Adaptive-Sync supported* graphics source to dynamically adjust display refresh rate based on typical content frame rates for power efficient, virtually stutter free and low-latency display update (for DisplayPort).
• Position: Adjusts the horizontal position (H-Position) and the vertical position (V-Position) of the image. The adjusting range is from 0 to 100 (Only available for VGA input).
• Focus: Reduces Horizonal-line noise and Vertical-line noise of the image by adjusting (Phase) and (Clock) separately. The adjusting range is from 0 to 100 (Only available for VGA input).
• Auto Adjust: Automatically adjust the image to its optimized position, clock, and phase. (Only available for VGA input.)

• Phase adjusts the phase of the pixel clock signal. With a wrong phase
adjustment, the screen shows horizontal disturbances.
• Clock (pixel frequency) controls the number of pixels scanned by one
horizontal sweep. If the frequency is not correct, the screen shows vertical stripes and the image is not proportional.

• Key Lock: Disable all key functions. Pressing the second button on the right for more than five seconds to disable key lock function.
• More: Return the next page of System Setting.

3.3 Troubleshooting (FAQ)

Problem Possible Solution
Power LED is not ON
The power LED lights amber and there is no screen image
Screen image is too light or dark • Adjust the Contrast and Brightness settings via
Screen image bounces or a wave pattern is present in the image
Screen image has color defects (white does not look white)
No sound or sound is low (VZ279H/Q)
• Press the
ON mode.
• Check if the power cord is properly connected to
the monitor and the power outlet.
• Check Power Indicator function in main menu OSD.
Select “ON” to turn on power LED.
• Check if the monitor and the computer are in the
ON mode.
• Make sure the signal cable is properly connected
the monitor and the computer.
• Inspect the signal cable and make sure none of the
pins are bent.
• Connect the computer with another available
monitor to check if the computer is properly working.
