ASK Proxima C460 Projector Frequently Asked Questions: Audio
How can I get better sound for my presentations? I'm using a laptop and the C460.
While the internal speakers on the C460 is fine for many rooms, larger meeting rooms sometimes require more robust sound. We suggest that you use the external speakers available with many desktop computers. These speakers plug directly into your laptop and into a power source. You simply plug the speaker cable into the Audio Out port on the back of the projector or on the laptop (usually the one marked with a picture of headphones), and plug the speakers into a power source. For even better sound, use a set that includes a subwoofer. You can adjust the volume on the laptop as well as on the speakers.
Can I use the C460 with my home theater system?
Sure – as long as your system includes a video player such as a DVD or VCR. The Connections FAQ provides information on connecting the C460 to video sources. The Video FAQ has answers to questions on projecting video images.
How do I connect audio from a VCR/DVD for better sound quality?
Using a separate audio cable (standard A/V cable), connect the red and white audio out on the DVD/VCR to a pair of external amplified speakers. Or, for the best sound, run the speaker through a separate amplifier or receiver. Or you can use Audioout port on the back of the projector.
There is no sound from the video player.
1. Make sure the audio cable is connected.
2. Make sure mute isn’t active.
3. Make sure the volume is turned up enough. Press the volume button on the keypad or remote.
4. Adjust the audio source.
5. If you are playing a video, make sure the playback has not been paused.
Does the C460 have an audio out connector?
Yes, the C460 has an Audio-out port. You can simply connect a pair of external amplified speakers directly on the Audio-out port.
