di cura ed altre strutture di assistenza sanitaria.

del personale per un utilizzo ottimale dei prodotti

attentamente e integralmente il presente manuale. Le
informazioni contenute nel presente manuale sono
fondamentali per il corretto funzionamento e
manutenzione dell'attrezzatura, favoriscono la
protezione del prodotto e garantiscono prestazioni
adeguate. Alcune delle infor mazioni ivi riportate sono
importanti per la vostra sicurezza e devono essere lette
e comprese appieno per evitare possibili infortuni. Se il
presente manuale contiene punti non chiari, contattare
ArjoHuntleigh o il distrib utore autorizzato d i zona (il
numero di telefono è riportato nell'ultima pagina del
presente manuale).

Le tecniche descritte di seguito rappresentano solo
alcuni esempi delle nuove manovre di movimentazione
dei pazienti eseguite in modo ergonomicamente
corretto con MaxiSlide.

Vedere anche la sezione "Manutenzione di MaxiSlide".
Le tecniche illustrate si basano su principi

biomeccanici comprovati. I movimenti di spinta sono
eseguiti ad una certa altezza per evitare l’eccessiva
flessione del tronco e sfruttare correttamente la forza
muscolare delle gambe. I movimenti di trazione sono
eseguiti ad un’altezza più bassa, tenendo i go miti dritti
per evitare sforzi eccessivi al livello delle spalle e per
eseguire il movimento voluto sfruttando la forza
muscolare delle gambe. Laddove possibile, si
raccomanda di spingere piutto sto che tirare.

Riferimento Mital:

• Spingendo a una distanza di 80 -120 cm

dal terreno

• Tirando a una distanza di 60-80 cm dal terreno (in

base alla statura individuale)

Il picco di carico viene ridotto del 50% se si esegue la
manovra lentamente. In tal modo si riduce il carico
fisico per l’assistente ed il paziente si avvantaggia di
spostamenti eseguiti più lentamente. In linea di
massima, si raccomanda di rimuovere le traverse una
volta completata la manovra di trasferimento o
posizionamento.

Tuttavia, in alcune circostanze - p.es. di notte – le
traverse possono essere lasciate sotto l’assistito per
consentirgli di muoversi in modo più indipendente. In
tal caso, tuttavia, occorre prima eseguire una
valutazione individuale della situazione per garantire
totale sicurezza all’assistito.

Avvertenza: I telini sono estremamente
scivolosi. Per evitare il rischio di infortuni,
si raccomanda di non farli mai cadere
a terra.

MaxiSlide viene fornito con istruzioni co mplete per il
lavaggio. Tuttavia, al mome nto di lavare, d isinfettare e
riutilizzare questo prodo tto, si raccomanda di attenersi
al protocollo per il contenimento delle infezioni
adottato dalla propria organizzazione.

• Nota: Previa va lutazione clinica dei singoli

casi, le tecniche di trasferimento con le
traverse possono essere utilizzate per
trasferire o posizionare tutti gli assistiti,
qualunque sia il grado di dipendenza. Prima
di eseguire qualunque manovra, si
raccomanda di prendere in esame fattori
ambientali (letto, spazio, tipo di traversa
usata), caratteristiche del paziente (capacità
di collaborare, corporatura, condizione
medica, grado di comprensione, livello di
sofferenza, peso), il compito da eseguire e le
capacità individuali degli assistenti (non
tentare mai di eseguire una manovra che
richiede sforzi superiori alle proprie
capacità).

Utilizzo di MaxiSlide

Caratteristiche generali

MaxiSlide è un prodotto esclusivo ed ergonomico ad

attrito estremamente basso, espressamente studiato pe r
agevolare le manovre di spostamento o
posizionamento degli assistiti e incoraggiare al
contempo l’adozione di posture corrette al fine di
evitare sforzi inutili e dannosi ad assistenti e assistiti.

Inoltre, MaxiSlide incoraggia per quanto possibile
l'assistito a collaborare alla manovra utilizzando la
propria muscolatura.

Avvertenza: MaxiSlide non è stato
progettato per sollevare gli assistiti e non
deve essere utilizzato a tale scopo.

Il presente documento utilizza la seguente
classificazione dei pazienti ArjoHuntleigh, denominata
"Galleria dei residenti".

Albert: è in grado di svolgere le attività di tutti i giorni
in modo indipendente ma può aver bisogno di ausili
speciali.

Barbara: è in grado di svolgere la maggior parte delle
attività quotidiane in modo indip endente, con u na certa
assistenza.
Carl: richiede assistenza per svolgere molte delle
attività quotidiane.
Doris: richiede un alto livello di assistenza per
svolgere tutte le attività quotidiane.
Emma: non è in grado di svolgere le attività quotid iane
in modo indipendente.

Carl, Doris ed Emma - Posizio namento di

MaxiSlide mediante la tecnica di

due
srotolamento

La tecnica di srotolamento può non risultare idonea per
il trasferimento ed il posizion amento di alcuni a ssistiti,
ad esempio soggetti affetti da sofferenze fisiche o con
corporature particolarmente robuste. In tal caso, questa
tecnica può essere utilizzata per inserire due traverse
MaxiSlide lunghe. Per spiegare più chiaramente la
procedura da seguire, la tecnica di trasferimento e
posizionamento viene dapprima illustrata senza
l’assistito.

Posizionare insieme le due traverse MaxiSlide per il
verso della lunghezza. Piegare le due traverse MaxiSlide
in risvolti da 152 – 203 mm (6"-8"); girare le traverse in
modo che le pieghe risultino rivolte ver so il basso.

Bloccare le due traverse MaxiSlide con il dorso della
mano. Con il palmo rivolto verso l’alto, stendere
ciascuna piega tenendo la mano a contatto con il letto.
Non sollevare la mano. D istendere le traverse lontano
dall’assistito per evitare il rischio d i le sio nar ne la cute.

Utilizzo di MaxiSlide

Si raccomanda di svolgere le traverse MaxiSlide a
partire dalla testa dell'assistito procedendo verso il
basso, seguendo la direzione degli indumenti del
paziente, per evitare che le traverse si impiglino negli
indumenti.

Se l’assistito è coricato su u n materasso antidecubito,
premere leggermente il materasso per facilitare il
posizionamento della traversa. La procedura può essere
ulteriormente semplificata au mentando la pr essione del
materasso.

Doris – Rotazione nel letto con
l’aiuto di due assistenti

Questa tecnica può essere utilizzata con gli assistiti che
non sono in grado di collaborare e che richiedono
l’aiuto di 2 assistenti per cambiare posizione nel letto.

Controllare che il letto sia all’altezza corretta per
inserire le traverse MaxiSlide e utilizzare la
"tecnica di srotolamento" per inserirle sotto il corpo
dell’assistito partendo da lla testa.

Spostare l’assistito verso un bordo del letto per creare
lo spazio necessario a girarlo su un fianco. A questo
punto, la manovra richiede essenzialmente movimenti
di trazione, pertanto si raccomanda di abbassare il
letto.

Afferrare i manici della traversa MaxiSlide e adottare
una posizione simile alla normale deambulazione.
Sfruttando il proprio peso corporeo, tirare
delicatamente l’assistito verso di sé.

Sfruttando i principi del movimento normale, ruotare
delicatamente l’assistito verso il secondo as sistente. Se
necessario, riposizionare fianchi, spalle e gambe
dell’assistito per metterlo comodo.

Rimuovere le due traverse MaxiSlide dal lato
posteriore dell'assistito anziché da quello anteriore,
poiché con questa tecnica la maggior parte del tessuto
della traversa tende a spostarsi verso la parte posteriore
dell’assistito.

Compiendo per quanto possibile movimenti normali,
preparare l’assistito a girarsi s ul lato vo luto.

Utilizzo di MaxiSlide

Doris – Sollevamento nel letto
tirata da due ass is te nt i

L’uso di un letto articolato può pre venire il rischio di
scivolamento dell’assistito verso i piedi del letto.
Qualora tale letto non sia disponibile, adottare la
tecnica seguente per risollevare l’assisti to verso la testa
del letto.

Questa tecnica può essere utilizzata nel caso di letti
piuttosto bassi per semplificare i movimenti di
trazione. L’assistito non è in grado di collaborare alla
manovra.

Le traverse MaxiSlide e il tub o vengono s istemati so tto
l'assistito per evitare effetti di "strappo" nel
movimento.

Ciascun assistente si posiziona su un lato del letto e
afferra la parte superiore della traversa MaxiSlide con
la mano più vicina al letto.

Al segnale previamente concordato, spostare
simultaneamente e lentame nte l’assistito verso la testa

Emma – Trasferimento laterale
su barella

Posizionare le due traverse MaxiSlide con la "tecnica
di srotolamento". Usare un Maxitube sotto i piedi
dell'assistito, ove necessario.

• Nota: È di vitale importanza assicurare che

barella e letto siano all’incirca alla stessa
altezza. Per agevolare la manovra, la
superficie su cui si intende trasferire
l’assistito dovrebbe essere leggermente più

traverse MaxiSlide.

Utilizzo di MaxiSlide

Gli assistenti posizionati sui lati afferrano le cinture.
L’assistente posizionato sul la to “di spinta” agevola la
manovra iniziale di trasferimento, ponendo attenzione
a non tendersi eccessivamente.

Usando comandi chiari e manovrando insieme, i due
assistenti adottano una posizione simile alla normale
deambulazione, fanno un passo indietro rispetto alla
barella e, sfruttando il proprio peso corporeo, spostano
l'assistito.

Il posizionamento finale al centro della barella viene
eseguito utilizzando gli appositi manici delle traverse
MaxiSlide.

A manovra completata, gli assistenti possono
rimuovere le due traverse.

Sollevame nto dal pavimento opera ndo in
uno spazio ristretto (per qualunque
assistito caduto)

Prima di tentare di solle vare l’assistito caduto a terra,
occorre eseguire tutti i controlli medici del caso. Una
volta accertato che l’assistito può essere mosso in
completa sicurezza, adottare la tecnica descritta di
seguito per spostarlo in uno spazio più ampio che
consenta l’impiego di un solle vapazienti.

Posizionare un cuscino sotto la testa dell’assistito.

Utilizzando due traverse MaxiSlide e la tecnica di
"srotolamento", posizionare le traverse sotto l'assistito.
Controllare che le traverse siano posizionate sotto il
cuscino per proteggere la te sta dell'assistito durante lo
spostamento.

Se si dispone di spazio sufficiente, attaccare le cinture
per potere lavorare adottando una postura corretta.

Se occorre spostare l'assistito per una distanza
superiore, posizionare la traversa MaxiSlide inferiore
verso la direzione di spostamento.

Manutenzione di MaxiSlide

Istruzioni per la pulizia

MaxiSlide, MaxiTube™ e MaxiTransfer™ possono

essere puliti con una soluzione a base di cloro (fino a

10.000 ppm) oppure con una soluzione a base di alcool
(fino al 70%).

I prodotti possono anche essere lavati a una

temperatura massima di 80 °C (175˚F) e asciugati

all'aria.
Se necessario, è possibile asciugare più rapidamente i

prodotti con un essiccatore impostato alle basse
temperature. Si tenga presente, tuttavia, che questo
metodo di asciugatura tende a stropicciare le traverse,
senza comunque pregiudicarne il rendimento.

Attenzione!

• MaxiSlide, MaxiTube e MaxiTransfer devono
essere sempre appesi o riposti nelle rispettive
confezioni dopo l’uso per evitare il pericolo
di scivolamenti e inciampi accidentali.

• MaxiSlide, MaxiTube e MaxiTransfer non sono
progettati per essere lasciati diretta m e nte sotto
l'assistito. Tuttavia, qualora vi sia la necessità
di dovere posizionare ripetutamente l’assistito
nel letto, previa valutazione clinica, è possibile
lasciare il prodotto sotto l’assistito a condizione
che sia protetto da un interfacciamento idoneo,
ad esempio un lenzuolo di cotone.

• Verificare regolarmente MaxiSlide, MaxiTube e
MaxiTransfer per individuare eventuali segni di
usura e, se necessario, provvedere alla
sostituzione.

• MaxiSlide, MaxiTube e MaxiTransfer devono
essere utilizzati solo qualora non siano disponibili
alternative migliori per spostare o posizionare
l'assistito.

Uw MaxiSlide maakt deel uit van een serie
kwaliteitsproducten die speciaal is ontworpen voor
gebruik in zorginstell ingen en in d e thuiszorg.

Wij doen ons uiterste best om aan al uw zorgbehoeften
te voldoen en om de best mogelijke hulpmiddelen te
leveren. Tevens zorgen wij voor goede
opleidingsmogelijkheden, zodat uw medewerkers
optimaal geb ruik k unne n make n van de mogelij khed en
die elk ArjoHuntleigh-hulpmiddel biedt.

Voorschriften

• Het hulpmiddel wordt verzorgd
overeenkomstig de aanbevolen,
gepubliceerde Gebruiksaanwijzing.

• Verzorging conform de ArjoHuntleigh­voorschriften dient te beginnen vanaf het mo ment
dat u het hulpmiddel in gebruik nee mt.

• Gebruik het hulpmiddel alleen voor het beoogde
doel en houd u aan de geldende restricties.

• Gebruik bij vervanging uitsluitend onderdele n
van ArjoHuntl ei gh.

Lees de gebruiksaanwijzing volledig door voordat u de
MaxiSlide in gebruik neemt. De informatie in deze
handleiding is van essentieel belang voor het juiste
gebruik en onderhoud van deze Entroy stoel en
accessoires. Verder kunt u het product hiermee
optimaal laten presteren. Veel informatie uit deze
handleiding is van belang voor uw eigen veiligheid.
Daarom is het nodig dat u de handleiding goed
doorleest en begrijpt om eventueel persoo nlijk letsel te
voorkomen. Bevat de gebruiksaanwijzing informatie
die u verwarrend of onduidelijk vindt, neem dan
contact op met ArjoHuntleigh (zie de telefoonnummers
op de laatste pagina).

De volgende technieken vormen slechts een deel van
de nieuwste, ergonomisch verantwoorde handelingen
voor het ve rplaatsen van cliënt en, die met de MaxiSlide
kunnen worde n ver r icht .

Veiligheidsinstructies

De volgende symbolen komen voor:

WAARSCHUWING: betekent: het niet
begrijpen of negeren van d eze waarsch uwing kan
leiden tot verwonding van uzelf of van anderen.

Opmerking: Dit is belangrijke informatie voor
het juiste gebruik van het hulpmiddel en de
accessoires.

Zie ook het hoofdstuk "Onderhoud van uw MaxiSlide".

De besproken technieken zijn gebaseerd op algemeen
gangbare, bio mechanische princip es. Duwhandelinge n
worden uitge voerd op ee n hoogte waarb ij niet hoeft te
worden gebukt en de krachtige beenspieren kunnen
worden gebruikt. Trekken vindt plaats op lagere
hoogte, met gestrekte armen, om de schouders niet te
veel te belasten en om met de beenspieren kracht te
kunnen zetten. Waar voor een van beide methoden kan
worden gekozen, verdient duwen de voorkeur boven
trekken.

De piekbelasting is half zo hoog als de handeling
langzaam wordt verricht. De verzorger heeft dan
minder last van fysieke belasting en voorzichtig
bewegen en verplaatsen is voor de cliënt
comfortabeler.

Glijlakens worden in het algemeen verwijderd als de
handeling is voltooid, maar in bepaalde gevallen
kunnen ze blijven zitten, bijvoorbeeld om de cliënt ’s
nachts meer bewegingsvrijheid te geven. Om de
veiligheid van cliënten te waarborgen, dient van
tevoren te worden onderzocht of dit kan worden
toegestaan.

Uw MaxiSlide is voorzien van uitgebreide
wasinstructies. Volg echter altijd de
infectiebestrijdingsvoorschriften van uw instelling ten
aanzien van het wassen, desinfecteren

• Opmerking: Glijtechnieken kunnen met succes

worden toegepast op cliënten met verschillende
afhankelijkheidsniveaus, mits bij elke cliënt
tevoren wordt onderzocht of de techniek kan
worden toegepast. Bepalende factoren daarbij
zijn de omgeving (bed, ruimte, soort glijlakens),
de toestand van de cliënt (vermogen om mee te
werken, grootte, medische conditie,
bevattingsvermogen, aanwezige pijn, gewicht),
de te verrichten handeling, de individuele
vermogens van de verzorger (probeer nooit een
handeling te verrichten die uw individuele
kunnen wel eens te boven zou kunnen gaan.)

Het gebruik van uw MaxiSlide

Algemeen

De MaxiSlide is een uniek, ergonomisch ontworpen
hulpmiddel met ultrasoepel glijvermogen, waarmee
verzorgers cliënten niet alleen kunnen verplaatsen
en verleggen, maar dat ook bevorderlijk is voor een
goede, lichamelijke werkhouding en onnodige stress
bij cliënt en verzorger voorkomt.

De MaxiSlide bevordert ook dat cliënten zich, waar
mogelijk, zelf helpen.

WAARSCHUWING: De MaxiSlide is niet
ontworpen voor het tillen van cliënten en
mag daarvoor dus niet worden gebruikt.

In deze gebruiksaanwijzing komen de volgende
ArjoHuntleigh-cliënten voor uit de ‘Residents
Gallery’:

Albert: kan dagelijkse activiteiten zelfstandig
verrichten, maar heeft mogelijk speciale
hulpmiddelen nodig.

Barbara: kan de meeste dagelijkse handelingen
zelfstandig verrichten, met hulp.
Carl: heeft bij veel van zijn dagelijkse activiteiten
hulp nodig.
Doris: heeft bij al haar dagelijkse activiteiten veel
hulp nodig.
Emma: kan zelf geen dagelijkse handelingen
verrichten.

MaxiSlides

aanbrengen met de uit vouwtechnie k

Sommige cliënten kunnen niet opzij worden gerold,
bijvoorbeeld wanneer ze pijn lijden of te groot of te
zwaar zijn. In dergelijke gevallen kan deze techniek
worden gebruikt om twee MaxiSlide-lakens over de
volledige lengte aan te brengen. De techniek wordt
eerst zonder cliënt gedemonstreerd, zodat u
gemakkelijk kunt zien wat er gebeurt.

Leg beide MaxiSlide-lakens in de lengterichting
tegen elkaar aan. Breng in de twee MaxiSlide-lakens
vouwen aan van 152 tot 203 mm en keer ze om,
zodat de vouwen onder liggen.

Houd beide MaxiSlide-lakens met de achterkant van
uw hand op hun plaats en vouw ze uit met uw
handpalm omhoog. Zorg er daarbij voor dat uw
hand in contact blijft met het bed en dat u uw hand
niet optilt. Door de lakens van de cliënt af uit te
vouwen, voorkomt u dat ze langs de huid van de
cliënt kunnen schuren.

Het gebruik van uw MaxiSlide

Het is aan te bevelen om de MaxiSlide-lakens uit te
vouwen vanaf het hoofdeinde van de cliënt, omdat u
op die manier werkt in de lengterichting van de
kleding en voorkomt dat de lakens bekneld raken.

Wanneer er een drukverlagend matras wordt
gebruikt, druk dit dan voorzichtig in om het
aanbrengen van de lakens te vergemakkelijken. Het
kan ook handig zijn om voor het aanbrengen van de
lakens de druk van het matras op een vaste waarde
in te stellen.

Doris – In bed verleggen met twee
verzorgers

Deze techniek kan worden toegepast bij een cliënt
die niet in staat is op eigen kracht mee te werken en
dus met 2 verzorgers moet worden verlegd.

Zorg dat het bed voor het aanbrengen van de
MaxiSlide-lakens de juiste hoogte heeft en breng de
lakens onder de cliënt aan met de
‘uitvouwtechniek’, te beginnen bij het hoofdeinde.

De cliënt wordt dicht tegen de zijkant van het bed
geplaats om ruimte te creëren om hem/haar op
zijn/haar zij te draaien. Op dit moment moet het bed
worden verlaagd, omdat de te verrichten fysieke
handeling voornamelijk uit trekken bestaat.

De verzorger pakt de hendels van de MaxiSlide vast,
neemt een ‘loophouding’ aan en trekt de cliënt met
zijn/haar lichaamsgewicht voorzichtig naar zich toe.

Op basis van de gebruikelijke methoden van
verplaatsing rolt de verzorger de cliënt nu
voorzichtig naar de tweede verzorger toe. Controleer
of de cliënt comfortabel ligt. Plaats zijn/haar
heupen, schouders en benen, zo nodig, in een meer
comfortabele houding.

Haal beide MaxiSlide-lakens achter de cliënt weg en
niet vóór de cliënt. Het merendeel van de glijlakens
bevindt zich na de omdraaihandeling immers achter
de cliënt.

Tref op basis van de gebruikelijke methoden voor
verplaatsing, indien toepasbaar, voorbereidingen om
de cliënt op de gewenste zij te draaien.

Het gebruik van uw MaxiSlide

Doris – Naar het hoofdeinde
verschuiven, twee verzorgers, trekken

Door een profielbed te gebruiken kan worden
voorkomen dat de cliënt naar het voeteneinde zakt.
Als een dergelijk bed echter niet beschikbaar is, kan
de volgende methode worden gebruikt om de cliënt
terug te schuiven naar het hoofdeinde.

Deze methode kan worden toegepast als het bed op
lage hoogte is geplaatst en trekken dus de voorkeur
verdient boven duwen. De cliënt is zelf nie t in staat
bij de handeling te assisteren.

De MaxiSlide-lakens en -stang zijn onder de cliënt
aangebracht, om ‘schuureffect’ tijdens de handeling
te voorkomen.

De verzorgers staan aan weerskanten van het bed en
houden de bovenste MaxiSlide vast met de hand die
het dichtst bij het bed is.

In goed overleg trekken de verzorgers de cliënt
vervolgens voorzichtig terug naar het hoofdeinde
van het bed.

Emma – Zijwaarts op de rijdende
brancard pla at se n

Er worden twee MaxiSlide-lakens aangebracht met
de ‘uitvouwmethode’. Gebruik indien nodig een

MaxiTube voor onder de voeten van de cliënt.

• Opmerking: Het is van essentieel belang te

zorgen dat bed en brancard ongeveer
dezelfde hoogte hebben. De verplaatsing
verloopt echter het gemakkelijkst als de
brancard waarop de cliënt wordt geplaatst,
iets lager is dan het bed.

Zorg dat de wielen van bed en brancard
goed vergrendeld zijn.

Aan de bovenste MaxiSlide zitten op schouder-,
heup- en voetenhoogte vier trekbanden. Deze
trekbanden voorkomen dat de verzorgers zich te
zeer moeten strekken.

De brancard wordt op zijn plaats gezet.

WAARSCHUWING: Zorg dat u de
cliënt niet te snel naar het hoofdeinde
trekt en dat de cliënt zich niet bezeert.

Terwijl een derde verzorger de cliënt naar zich toe
rolt of tilt, plaatsen de beide andere verzorgers een
‘onderlegglijlaken’ op het bed en schuiven dit onder
de MaxiSlide-lakens

.

Het gebruik van uw MaxiSlide

De beide verzorgers pakken nu de trekbanden aan
de trekzijde vast. De verzorger aan de ‘duwzijde’
duwt een stukje mee, maar zorgt wel dat hij/zij z ich
niet te ver voorover buigt.

In goed overleg en samenwerking nemen beide
verzorgers een ‘loophouding’ aan, stappen weg van
de brancard en trekken de cliënt mee met hun
lichaamsgewicht.

Met de hendels aan de MaxiSlide wordt de cliënt ten
slotte midden op de brancard geplaatst.

Verwijder beide glijlakens om de handeling te
voltooien.

Een (per ongeluk gevallen) cliënt uit een
benarde positie van de vloer tillen

Als u een cliënt op de vloer aantreft, zorg dan dat de
noodzakelijke fysieke controles zijn verricht,
voordat u probeert de cliënt te verplaatsen. Als uit
onderzoek is gebleken dat de cliënt veilig kan
worden verplaatst, kan deze methode worden
gebruikt om de cliënt te verplaatsen naar een ruimte
waar de tillift kan worden ingeschakeld.

Plaats een kussen onder het hoofd van
de cliënt.

Gebruik twee MaxiSlide-lakens en plaats deze met
de ‘uitvouwtechniek’ onder de cliënt. Zorg er
daarbij voor dat ze onder het kussen doorlopen,
zodat het hoofd van de cliënt tijdens de tilhandeling
wordt beschermd.

Als er voldoende ruimte is, biedt het aanbrengen van
de trekbanden u de mogelijkheid de handeling
staand te verrichten in een correcte werkhouding.

Als u de cliënt over een grotere afstand moet
verplaatsen, kunt u de onderste MaxiSlide eerst iets
naar voren halen in de richting waarin de cliënt
wordt verplaatst.

Onderhoud van uw MaxiSlide

Reinigingsinstructies

De MaxiSlide, MaxiTube™ en MaxiTransfer™
kunnen worden gereinigd met een bleekmiddel (met
een chloorgehalte tot 10.000 ppm) of een
alcoholoplossing (tot 70 % alcohol).

Bovendien kunnen ze worden gewassen bij een
maximumtemperatuur van 80 °C. Laat ze daarna
uitdruipen tot ze droog zijn.

Zo nodig, kan de droogtijd worden verkort door ze
voor te drogen in een droogtrommel, maar let er
daarbij wel op dat de glijlakens volledig intact
blijven en niet te zeer verkreukelen.

Let op!

• Zorg dat de MaxiSlide, MaxiTube en
MaxiTransfer na gebruik altij d worden
opgeborgen of opgehangen, zodat niemand er
per ongeluk over kan struikelen of uitglijden.

• De MaxiSlide, MaxiTube en MaxiTransfer zijn
niet ontworpen om onder de cliënt te blijven
zitten. Als clïënten langere tijd bedlegerig zijn, is
dit op basis van klinisch onderzoek wel mogelijk,
mits tussen het hulpmiddel en de cliënt een extra
(katoenen) laken wordt aangebracht.

• Controleer de MaxiSlide, MaxiTube en
MaxiTransfer regelmatig op tekenen van slijtage
en vervang ze, als dat nodig mocht zijn.

• De MaxiSlide, MaxiTube en MaxiTransfer dienen
alleen te worden gebruikt wanneer voor het
verplaatsen of verleggen van de cliënt geen
beter alternatief voorhanden is.

des Gesundheitswesens vorgesehen sind.

Die gezeigten Methoden basieren auf wissenschaftlich
fundierten, biomechanischen Prinzipien. Dort, wo die
Pflegekraft schieben muss, erfolgt dies auf einer hohen
Ebene, so dass das Bücken vermieden und der Einsatz der
Beinmuskulatur gefördert werden. Dort, wo die Pflegekraft
ziehen muss, erfolgt dies auf niedriger Höhe, mit
gestreckten Ellenbogen, um die Überlastung der Schultern
zu vermeiden und den Einsatz der Beinmuskeln zum
Erreichen der Bewegung zu gestatten. Stehen das Schieben
und das Ziehen zur Auswahl, sollte die Pflegekraft
vorzugsweis e drück en, ans tatt zu ziehen .

Bezug Mital:

• Schieben – 80 bis 120 cm vom Boden

• Ziehen – 60 bis 80 cm vom Boden (je nach

Körpergröße)

Die Spitzenbelastung wird um 50% gesenkt, wenn das
Verfahren langsam ausgeführt wird. Dies senkt die
physische Belastung der Pflegekraft, und eine sanfte
Bewegung wird vo m Pfle ge b ed ür fti ge n bevorzugt.

Die Gleitmatten werden in der Regel entfernt, nachdem der
Pflegebedürftige wie gewünscht umgelagert wurde. Unter
bestimmten Umständen jedoch, z.B. nachts, wenn dem
Pflegebedürftigen eine größere Bewegungsfreiheit gewährt
werden soll, können sie unter dem Pflegebedürftigen
bleiben. In diesen Fällen muss zuvor eine fachmännische
Beurteilung der Lage erfolgen, um die Sicherheit des
Pflegebedü rftig en zu gew ährlei sten.

Warnung: Achten Sie darauf, dass
Gleitmatten nicht auf den B oden fallen oder
auf dem Boden liegen bleiben, weil sie sehr
glatt sind u nd Unfälle ve rursachen könnten.

Der MaxiSlide Gleitmatte liegt eine Waschanleitung
bei. Bitte stellen Sie sicher, dass Ihre Or ganisation die
Richtlinien zum Infektionsschutz hinsichtlich des
Waschens, der Desinfektion und der
Wiederverwendung die s es Produkts befolgt.

• Hinweis: Die Umlage rung unter Verwendung

von Gleitmatten ist für jede Art von
Pflegebedürftigen auf allen Stufen der
Pflegeabhängigkeit geeignet, zuvor muss aber
eine fachmännische Beurteilung der Sachlage
erfolgen. Zu berücksichtigende Faktoren sind
die Umgebung (Bett, verfügbarer Platz, Art der
Gleitmatten), Fähigkeiten und Eigenschaften
des Pflegebedürftigen (Fähigkeit zur
Unterstützung, Größe, physische Verfassung,
das Verständnis des Pflegebedürftigen für den
Vorgang, Grad der Schmerzen, Gewicht), die
auszuführende Aufgabe und die individuelle
Leistungsfähigkeit der Pflegekraft (Führen Sie
niemals eine Aufgabe aus, von der Sie glauben,
dass Sie Ihre Leistungsfähigkeit übersteigt!).

Gebrauch der MaxiSlide Gleitmatte

Allgemein

Die MaxiSlide ist eine einzigartige, ergonomisch
konstruierte Gleitmatte mit einem äußerst niedrigen
Reibungswiderstand. Dieses Hilf smittel unterstützt das
Pflegepersonal beim Bewegen von Pflegebedürftigen
bzw. bei deren Umlagerung und bewirkt zugleich die
ergonomisch richtige Haltung der Pflegekraft, ohne
dass der Pfleger bzw. der Pflegebedürftige größeren
Belastungen ausgesetzt werden.

Darüber hina us ermutigt di e MaxiSlide Gleitmatte den
Pflegebedürftigen dazu, dort, wo möglich, sich selbst
zu helfen.

Warnung: Die MaxiSlide Gleitmatte ist nic ht
zum Heben von Pflegebedürftigen ausgelegt
und darf deshalb hierzu nicht benutzt
werden!

MaxiSlides mittels der

Unterlegmethode

Manche Pflegebedürftige können nicht auf die Seite
gedreht werden, z.B. wenn sie Schmerzen haben oder
aufgrund ihrer Größe. In solchen Fällen empfiehlt sich
das Unterlegen von zwei MaxiSlide Gleitmatten mittels
der im Anschluss erläuterten Methode. Wir zeigen
Ihnen zunäc hst das Ver fahren ohne P flegebedürft igen,
damit Sie den Vorgang einfacher nachvollziehen
können.

Legen Sie beide MaxiSlide Gleitmatten längs übereinander
auf das Bett. Falten Sie d ie beiden MaxiSlide Gleitmatten auf
15 bis 20 cm breite Streifen und drehen Sie die Matten um, so
dass die umgefalteten Streifen unten liegen.

Halten Sie beide MaxiSlide Gleitmatten mit der

Gebrauch der MaxiSlide Gleitmatte

Es wird empfohlen, die MaxiSlide Gleitmatten vom Kopf
des Pflegebedürftigen nach unten hin aufzuschlagen, weil
man hierbei der Richtung der Kleidung des
Pflegebedürftigen folgt und diese Richtung hilft, das
Verhängen der Gleitmatten zu verhindern.

Ist der Druck der Matratze verstellbar, drücken Sie die
Matratze vorsichtig herunter, um das Unterlegen der
Gleitmatte zu verein fachen. Außerde m könnte e s sich
für diesen Vorgang al s hilfreich erweise n, den Druck
der Matratze auf „Hart“ einzustellen.

Doris – Drehen ei nes P f le gebedürftigen
im Bett mittels zweier Pflegekräfte

Diese Methode eignet sich für Pflegebedürftige, die
beim Drehen des Körpers nicht helfen können,
weshalb zwei Pflegekräfte erf orderlich sind.

Überzeugen Sie sich davon, dass zum Unterlegen der
MaxiSlide Gleitmatten die richtige Höhe des Betts
eingestellt ist, und führen Sie die Matten mittels der
Unterlegmethode unter den Pflegebedürftigen.
Beginnen Si e am Kopfende.

Bereiten Sie nun den Pflegebedürftigen mittels der
gewohnten Bewegungen darauf vor, auf die
gewünschte Seite gedreht zu werden.

Bringen Sie den Pflegebedürftigen auf eine Seite des
Betts, damit ausreichend Platz vo rhanden ist, ihn später
auf die Seite zu drehen. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt wird das
Bett gesenkt, da von den Pflegekräften anschließend
vorwiegend gezogen wird.

Fassen Sie die MaxiSlide Gleitmatten an den Griffen
an, nehme n S ie di e La u fhal t u ng e i n und z ie he n Si e d e n
Pflegebedürftigen unter Ausnutzung Ihres
Körpergewichts vorsichtig auf s i ch zu.

Nun dreht die erste Pflegekraft den Pflegebedürftigen
vorsichtig i n Ric ht ung de r z weite n Pfle gekr aft . Dana ch
ist es ggf. erforderlich, die Hüften, Schultern und
Beine des Pflegebedürftigen neu auszurichten, damit er
bequem liegt.

Ziehen Sie beide MaxiSlide Gleitmatten von hinten
(nicht von vorn !) unter dem Pflegebed ürftigen hervor,
weil die Mehrheit der Gleitmatte hinter dem
Pflegebedürftigen zu liegen kommt, insofern die
erläuterte Methode genau befolgt wird.

Gebrauch der MaxiSlide Gleitmatte

Doris – Nach-oben-Ziehen im
Bett mittels zweier Pflegekräfte

Ein mit einem Profilrahmen versehenes Bett kann
verhindern, dass ein Patient in Ric htung Fußende des
Bettes rutscht. Steht ein solches Bett nicht zur
Verfügung, kann ein Pflegebedürftiger mittels der
folgenden Methode zurück in Richtung Kopfende
geschoben wer d en.

Diese Methode eignet sich für ein niedriges Bett, d.h.,
bei diesem Vorgang sollte der Pflegebedürftige
vorzugsweise gezogen werden. Der Patient ist nicht in
der Lage, die Bewegung zu unterstützen.

Unter den Pflegebedürftigen wurden MaxiSlide und
MaxiTube Gleitmatten gelegt, damit durch die
Bewegung keine Hautabschürfungen verursacht
werden.

An beiden Seiten des Betts steht jeweils eine
Pflegekraft, die die obere MaxiSlide Gleitmatte mit der
bettseitigen Hand festhält.

Emma - Seitliche Überführung auf eine
Transportliege

Unter den Pflegebedürftigen wurden mittels der
Unterlegmethode zwei MaxiSlide Gleitmatten gelegt.
Legen Sie erforderlichenfalls eine MaxiTube
Gleitmatte unter die Füße des Pflegebedürftigen.

• Hinweis: Transportliege und Bett müssen

unbedingt auf annähernd gleicher Höhe sein.
Die Umlagerung ist einfacher, wenn die Fläche,
auf die der Pflegebedürftige überführt wird,

Zum Ausrichten des Pflegebedürftigen in der Mitte des
Rollentisches dienen die Griffe an der MaxiSlide
Gleitmatte.

Aufnahme eines auf dem Boden
liegenden (gestürzten) Patienten aus
einem engen Raum

Stellen Sie vor der Übernahme eines gestürzten
Pflegebedürftigen vom Boden stets sicher, dass die
entsprechenden medizinischen Kontrollen ausgeführt
wurden. Nachdem von einem Fachmann bestätigt
wurde, dass es sicher ist, den Pflegebedürftigen an
einen Ort zu überführen, an dem ein Lifter zur
Verfügung st eht, gehe n S ie wie folgt vor:

Legen Sie ein Kissen unter den Kopf des
Pflegebedürftigen.

Bringen Sie mittels der Unterlegmethode MaxiSlide
Gleitmatten unter den Pflegebedürftigen. Die Matten
müssen sich hierbei unter dem Kissen befinden, so
dass der Kopf des Pflegebedürftigen während der
Bewegung ge s chützt ist .

Steht ausreichend Raum zum Anbringen der
Zugbänder zur Verf ügung, können Si e stehe nd, also in
einer gesunden Haltung, arbeiten.

Soll der Pflegebedürftige über eine größere Entfernung
überführt werden, kann die untere MaxiSlide
Gleitmatte vor der oberen Matte in
Überführungsrichtung platziert werden.

Pflege Ihrer MaxiSlide Gleitmatte

Reinigungsanweisungen

Die MaxiSlide, MaxiTube™ und MaxiTransfer™
Gleitmatten kann man mit einer chlorhalt igen Lösung
(max. 10.000 ppm), einer alkoholhaltigen Lösung
(max. 70 %) oder einer hochwertigen sterilisierenden
Lösung sauberwischen.

Darüber hinaus können sie bei einer Temperatur von
bis zu 80 °C gewaschen we rden. T ropfnass auf hängen.

Erforderlichenfalls kann man die Gleitmatten bei
niedriger Temperatur in einem Trockenautomaten
trocknen, um die Trockenzeiten zu verringern. Hierbei
ist es allerdings möglich, dass die Gleitmatten ein
schrumpfartiges Aussehen entwickeln, das die
Leistungsfähigkeit jedoch nic ht b e e inträ chtigen sollte.

Achtung!

• Bitte stellen Sie sicher, dass die MaxiSlide,
MaxiTube und MaxiTransfer nach dem
Gebrauch stets verpackt oder aufgehängt
werden, damit niemand versehentlich darauf
ausrutschen kann.

• MaxiSlide, MaxiTube und MaxiTransfer sind nicht
dazu geeignet, direkt unter dem Pflegebedürftigen
gelassen zu werden. Es ist aber möglich, die
Gleitmatte unter solchen Pflegebedürftigen zu
lassen, die auf lange Sicht im Bett regelmäßig
umgelagert werden müssen. Dies setzt eine
vorherige medizinische Beurteilung der Sachlage
und die Verwendung einer Zwischenlage zwischen
dem Pflegebedürftigen und der Gleitmatte, wie z.B.
eines Baumwolllakens, voraus.

• Bitte überprüfen Sie die MaxiSlide, MaxiTube und
MaxiTransfer regelmäßig und wechseln Sie diese
aus, wenn Verschleiß oder Beschädigung
festgestellt werden.

• Die MaxiSlide, MaxiTube und MaxiTransfer sollten
nur dann benutzt werden, wenn keine geeignetere
Alternative zum Bewegen oder Umpositionieren des
Pflegebedürftigen verfügbar ist.

avec MaxiSlide.

Les techniques illustrées sont basées sur des principes

biomécaniques éprouvés. Les mouvements de poussée
sont effectués en hauteur afin d’éviter de se pencher et
de favoriser l’utilisation des muscles d es jambes. Les
mouvements de traction sont effectués plus bas, avec
les coudes droits, pour éviter de solliciter
excessivement les épaules et favoriser l’utilisat ion des
muscles des jambes. Lorsque c'est possible, il est
préférable de pousser plutôt que de tirer.

• Traction à 60 – 80 cm du sol (en fonction de votre

Le pic de charge est réduit de 50% si la manœu vre

réalisée lentement. Ceci diminue la charge physique
pour le soignant, et le patient préférera ce

fois que la manœuvre est terminée, mais dans certains
cas, par exemple la nuit pour permettre aux patients de
bouger de manière plus autonome, on peut les laisser
en place. Dans ces circonstances, il faut réaliser une
évaluation adaptée afin d’assurer la sécurité du patient.

Mise en garde : Veillez à ne jamais laisser
tomber les bâches antifriction et ne les
laissez jamais sur le sol, car ils sont
extrêmement glissants et pourraient
provoquer un accident.

Le MaxiSlide est livré avec des instructions de lavage
détaillées, mais vous devez toujours respecter la
politique de contrôle des infections en vigueur dans
votre organisation concernant le lavage, la désinfection
et la réutilisation de ce produit.

• Remarque : On peut utiliser c es techniques

de déplacement peuvent être utilisées avec
succès sur les patients de tous les niveaux de
dépendance, mais ceux-ci doivent faire
l’objet d’une évaluation adaptée. Les
facteurs à prendre en compte sont
l’environnement (lit, espace, type de bâche
antifriction), les caractéristiques du patient
(capacité à aider, taille, état médical,
compréhension, niveau de douleur, poids),
la tâche à réaliser, les capacités
individuelles des soignants (ne tentez jamais
de réaliser une tâche qui dépasse vos
capacités individuelles).

Utilisation de MaxiSlide

Généralités

MaxiSlide est un dispositif un ique et ergonomique qui

possède des propriétés de friction extrêmement faibles
pour aider le personnel à déplacer ou positionner les
patients to ut en encourageant une bonne posture sa ns
provoquer de stress excessif pour le patient ou le
soignant.

MaxiSlide encourage également le patient à se prendre
en charge dans la mesure du possible.

Mise en garde : MaxiSlide n’a pas été conçu
pour soulever les patients, et ne do it pas être
utilisé à cette fin.

Ce document fait référence aux catégories de patients
ArjoHuntle igh ci-dessou s, extraites de la « Galerie des
patients » :

Albert : peut accomplir les activités quotidiennes de
manière autonome, mais peut avoir besoin d'aides
techniques spécifiques.

Barbara : est capable d'accomplir de manière
autonome la plupart des activités quotidiennes, avec un
peu d'assistance.
Carl : doit être assisté dans un grand nombre de ses
activités quotidiennes.
Doris : exige un haut niveau d’assistance dans toutes
ses activités quotidiennes.
Emma : est incapable d'accomplir les activités
quotidiennes de manière autonome.

MaxiSlide selon la

technique du dér oulage

On ne peut pas fair e rouler certains pati ents, par exemple
lorsqu’ils ressentent des douleurs ou à cause de leur taille.
Dans ce cas, o n pe ut ut ili ser c et te t ec hniq ue p o ur met tr e en
place deux bâches MaxiSlide grand format. Cette technique
est d’abord illustrée sans le patient, car il est plus facile de
voir ce qu’el le met en jeu.

Placez les deux bâches MaxiSlide ensemble, dans le
sens de la longueur. Pliez les deux bâches MaxiSlide en
lés de 15 à 20 cm puis tournez-les de manière à ce que
les plis se trouvent sur la face inférieure.

Tenez les deux bâches MaxiSlide d’une main pour les
maintenir, et avec l’autre main, la paume vers le haut,
dépliez chaque lé, en prenant soin de laisser votre main
en contact avec le lit ; ne la levez pas. En dépliant les
lés des bâches sans toucher le patient, on évite d’irriter
sa peau.

Utilisation de MaxiSlide

Nous recommandons de déplier les bâches MaxiSlide
en partant de la tête du patient, car cela suit la direction
des vêtements du patient et évite que les bâches ne s’y
accrochent.

Lorsque le lit est équipé d’un matelas anti-escarres,
appuyez légèrement sur le matelas pour faciliter la
mise en place. Vous pouvez également régler le
matelas sur la position « ferme » pendant la manœuvre.

Doris – Tourner à de u x un pat ie nt alit é

On peut utili ser cette technique lor sque le patient n’est
pas en mesure d’aider le soignant et qu’il faut donc
deux personnes pour le déplacer.

Vérifiez que le lit est à la hauteur correcte pour la mise
en place des bâches MaxiSlide. En utilisant la
technique de « déroulage », placez-les sous le patient,
en commençant par la tête.

On déplace le patient sur un côté du lit pour laisser
suffisamment de place pour le tourner sur le côté. A ce
stade, on abaisse le lit, car on va utiliser principalement
un mouvement de traction.

Le soignant a grippe les poignées MaxiSlide et adopte
une posture de « marche » et, en utilisant le po ids de
son corps, tire doucement le patient vers lui.

En utilisant les p rincipes des mo uvement s nor maux, le
soignant tourne alors le patient vers le second membre
du personnel, en le faisant rouler doucement. Il est
possible que vous ayez à repositionner les hanches, les
épaules et les jambes du patient pour assurer son
confort.

Enlevez les deux bâches MaxiSlide depuis le dos du
patient, car c’est là que la plus grande partie du
matériau s’accumule après l’application de la
technique démontrée.

En utilisant les principes des mouvements normaux,
dans la mesure du possible, préparez le patient à se
tourner du côté désiré.

Utilisation de MaxiSlide

Doris – Déplacer vers le ha ut du
lit, à deux, par traction

L’utilisation d’un lit profilé peut éviter qu’un patient
ne glisse vers le bas du lit. M ais si ces lits ne sont pas
disponibles on peut utiliser la technique ci-dessous
pour remonter le patient vers le haut du lit.

Cette technique peut être utilisée lorsque le lit est b as ;
il est donc préférable d’utiliser un mouvement de
traction. Le patient ne peut pas participer au
mouvement.

Les bâches et le tube MaxiSlide ont été placés sous le
patient afin d’éliminer tout effet « irritant » du
mouvement.

Chaque soignant se tient d’un côté du lit et tient le
MaxiSlide supérieur avec la main la plus proche du lit.

En assurant une bonne communication entre eux, les
soignants se déplacent simultanément et lente ment en

Utilisation de MaxiSlide

Les deux soignants qui se trouvent du côté de la
traction prennent les courroies. Le soignant qui se
trouve du côté de la « poussée » les aide au début du
mouvement de transfert, en veillant à ne pas trop
s’étirer.

En utilisant des commandes clair es et en travaillant en
équipe, les deux soignants adoptent une posture de «
marche » et se reculent du chariot, en utilisa nt le poids
de leur corps pour déplacer le patient.

Le positionnement final au centre du chariot est réalisé
au moyen des poignées de MaxiSlide.

Pour terminer l’opération, enlevez les deux bâches
antifriction.

Déplacer hors d’un espace confiné, sur
le sol (patient ayant fait une chute )

Lorsque vous trouvez un patient au sol, assurez-vous
qu’il a été examiné correctement par le personnel
médical avant de tenter de le déplacer. Si le patient est
considéré comme pouvant être déplacé, vous pouvez
utiliser cette technique pour l’amener à un endroit où
un lève-personne peut être utilisé.

Placez un oreiller sous la tête du patient.

En utilisant deux bâches MaxiSlide et la technique du
« déroulage » placez les bâches sous le patient, en
vérifiant qu’elles se trouvent bien sous l ’oreiller. Ceci
protègera la tête du patient pendant son déplacement.

Entretien de MaxiSlide

MaxiSlide, MaxiTube™et MaxiTransfer™ peuvent

être essuyés avec une solution à base de chlore
(jusqu’à 10 000 ppm) ou avec une solution à base
d’alcool (jusqu’à 70%).

On peut également les laver à 80 °C et les laisser
sécher naturellement.

En cas de besoin, un sèche-linge basse température
peut diminuer le temps de séchage, mais dans ce cas
les bâches antifriction peuvent prendre une apparence
froissée, qui ne devrait cependant pas affecter leur
performance.

Attention !

• Veiller à toujours ranger ou suspendre
MaxiSlide, MaxiTube et MaxiTransfer après
utilisation pour éviter tout risque d’accident.

• MaxiSlide, MaxiTube et MaxiTransfer ne sont
pas conçus pour être laissés directement sous le
patient. Cependant, lorsqu’il est nécessaire de
positionner le patient dans son lit à long terme, on
peut laisser le produit sous le patient, sous réserve
d’une évaluation clinique du patient et de
l’utilisation d’une interface comme un drap
en coton.

• Vous devez examiner régulièrement MaxiSlide,
MaxiTube et MaxiTransfer afin d’identifier toute
trace d’usure, et remplacer les produits le cas

Los métodos ilustrados a continuación se basan en
sólidos principios biomecánicos. Todos los
movimientos de empuje son realizados a un alto nivel
para evitar agacharse y emplear los resistentes
músculos de las piernas. Todos los movimientos de
tirar son realizados a un bajo nivel, con los codos
rectos, para evitar usar demasiado los hombros y
facilitar el movimiento de los músculos de las piernas.
Cuando hay la posibilidad de elegir es mejor empujar
que tirar.

Referencia Mital:

• Empujar 80-120 cm para levantar del suelo

• Empujar 60-80 cm para levantar del suelo

(dependiendo de su altura)

La carga máxima se reduce 50% si la maniobra se
realiza lentamente. Con esto se reduce la carga física
experimentada por el cuidador y además el paciente
prefiere movimientos suaves.

Las sábanas deslizantes generalmente se retiran una
vez finalizada la maniobra, pero en ciertos casos como
por ejemplo de noche para que el paciente puede
moverse de manera más independiente, podrán dejarse
en su sitio. En estos casos debe realizarse una
evaluación adecuada para asegurar que el paciente esté
seguro.

Advertencia: Asegúrese de que las sábanas
deslizantes no sean arrojadas al suelo o
dejadas en el mismo, ya que son
extremadamente resbaladizas y pueden
provocar accidentes.

Con la sába na MaxiSlide se incluyen instruc ciones de
lavado completas, pero deberá asegurarse siempre de
observar las directrices de control de infección de su
centro referentes al lavado, la desinfección y
reutilización de este producto.

• Nota: Los métodos de de slizamiento puede n s er

empleados eficazmente con pacientes a todos
los niveles de dependencia, pero deberán

Factores que deberían considerarse son el
entorno (la cama, el espacio disponible y el tipo
de sábanas deslizantes), las características del
paciente (capacidad para ayudar, talla,
condición médica, nivel de entendimiento,
intensidad de cualquier dolor y pe so), la tarea
que se está realizando y la capacidad individual
del cuidador (nunca deberá intentar realizar
una tarea que conoce está más allá de su
capacidad individual).

Utilización de la sábana MaxiSlide

Generalidades

La MaxiSlide es una singular sábana ergonómicamente
diseñada con propiedades de fricción sumamente bajas que
ayuda al cuidador a mover o co locar el pacie nte al tie mpo,
al mismo tiempo que favorece una buena postura sin causar
esfuerzo algu no al pacien te o al cu idad or.

La sábana MaxiSlide también alentará al paciente a
ayudarse a sí mismo siempre que lo juzgue posible.

Advertencia: La sábana MaxiSlide no ha
sido diseñada para levantar al paciente y por
consiguiente no deberá utilizarse para este
propósito.

En este folleto se emplean los siguientes modelos de
paciente ArjoHuntleigh de la «Galería de residentes»:

Alberto: es capaz de realizar las actividades diarias de
modo independiente, pero puede necesitar ayuda
especial.

Bárbara: es capaz de realizar la mayoría de las
actividades diarias de modo independiente, pero con
cierta ayuda.
Carlos: requiere ayuda con muchas de sus actividades
diarias.
Dora: requiere mucha ayuda con todas sus actividades
diarias.
Emma: no es capaz de realizar sus actividades diarias
sin ayuda.

Carlos, Dora y Emma - Disposición de

MaxiSlide empleando el método de

dos
desdoblado

Ciertos pacientes no son adecuados para darle la vuelta
de manera normal, debido por ejemplo a su dolor o a
su gran talla. En este caso puede emplearse este
método para insertar dos sábanas completas MaxiSlide.
El método se ilustra primero detalladamente sin el
paciente en la cama para ver mejor la operación.

Disponga ambas sábanas MaxiSlide juntas a lo largo.
Doble las dos sábanas MaxiSlide en pliegues de 6­8 pulg. (152-203 mm) y luego deles la vuelta para que
los pliegues queden en la parte inferior.

Agarre ambas sábanas MaxiSlide con l a mano e xterior
para sujetarlas y con la palma de la mano interior
desdoble cada doblez, teniendo cuidado de mantener la
mano en contacto con la cama; sin levantarla.
Desplegando las dobleces para separarlas del paciente
se previenen raspaduras en la piel.

Utilización de la sábana MaxiSlide

Se recomienda desdoblar las sábanas MaxiSlide desde
la cabeza del paciente hacia abajo, ya que con ello se
sigue la dirección de colocación de su ropa y se
contribuye a evitar que se enganchen las sábanas.

Si se trata de un colchón distribuidor de presión,
empuje éste hacia abajo para facilitar la colocación.
También podrá facilitar la operación reduciendo la
presión del colchón hasta quedar firme.

Dora – Con dos personas para
darle la vuelta en la cama

Este método puede ser utilizado con pacientes
incapaces de ayudar por lo que se requieren 2
cuidadores para volver a colocarlo en la cama.

Compruebe que la cama esté a la altura correcta para la
colocación de las sábanas MaxiSlide y colóquelas
debajo del paciente con el «método de desdoblado»,
comenzando por la cabeza del paciente.

Se mueve el paciente hacia un lado de la cama de
modo que haya espacio para volverle al otro lado.
Luego es el momento de bajar la cama, ya que el
esfuerzo físico consiste principalmente en tirar.

El cuidador sujeta las asas de la sábana MaxiSlide,
adopta la posición de «andar» y utilizando su peso
corporal tira del paciente hacia sí.

Basado en los principios del movimiento natural, el
cuidador vuelve el paciente hacia el segundo cuidador
con un suave movimiento rodante. Puede ser necesario
cambiar la posición de las caderas, hombros y piernas
del paciente para brindarle la mayor comodidad.

Retire ambas sábanas MaxiSlide desde detrás del
paciente en lugar hacerlo desde la parte frontal, ya que
aquí es donde se acumula la mayor parte del material
de deslizamiento después de haberse realizado la
operación.

Basado en los principios del movimiento natural
siempre que sea posible, prepare el paciente para darle
la vuelta sobre el lado que desea.

Dora – Con dos personas para
levantar y tirar de la cama

El empleo de una cama perfilada puede impedir que el
paciente se deslice hacia la parte delantera. No
obstante, si no hay una cama de este tipo puede
emplearse el método siguiente para volver a deslizar el
paciente a la parte superior de su cama.

Este método puede emplearse cuando la cama está a
baja altura cuando es preferible tirar. El paciente no es
capaz de ayudar en este movimiento.

Las sábanas MaxiSlide y el tubo se colocan debajo del
paciente para eliminar cualquier «roce» durante el
movimiento.

Cada cuidador permanece a cada lado de la cama y
sujeta la sábana MaxiSlide superior con la mano más
cercana a la cama.

Asegurando buena comunicación, los cuidadores se
mueven de manera simultánea y lentamente se dirigen
hacia la cabecera de la cama.

Emma – Transferencia lateral
sobre el carro

Se disponen dos sábanas MaxiSlide utilizando el
método de «desdoblado». Coloque un Maxitube debajo
del paciente si es necesario.

• Nota: Es indispensable que el carro y la

cama sean aproximadamente de la misma
altura. No obstante, la operación será más
fácil si la superficie donde se traslada el

Los dos cuidadores en la posición de tiro sujetan las
correas de tiro. El cuidador situado en el lado de
empuje ayuda a iniciar el traslado, teniendo cuidado de
no hacer demasiado esfuerzo.

Con instrucciones claras y trabajando en equipo, los
dos cuidadores proceden a avanzar y retroceder el
carro con su peso corporal para mover el paciente.

La disposición final en el centro del carro se consigue
utilizando las asas de la MaxiSlide.

Retire ambas sábanas deslizantes para finalizar la
operación.

Movimiento para retirar de un espacio
reducido en el suelo (cualquier paciente
desplomado)

Al descubrir un paciente desplomado en el suelo,
asegure siempre que se hayan adoptado las
verificaciones se salud correctas antes de proceder a
moverlo. Si después de evaluarse la condición del
paciente se considera seguro moverlo podrá usarse este
método para trasladarlo a un lugar donde puede
utilizarse una grúa.

Disponga una almohada debajo de la cabeza del
paciente.

Usando dos sábanas MaxiSlide y el método de
«desdoblado», disponga las sábanas debajo del
paciente, asegurando que hayan sido colocadas debajo
de la almohada para proteger la cabeza del paciente
durante el movimiento.

Si hay espacio suficiente para sujetar las correas de
arrastre ello permitirá ponerse en pie y trabajar en una
postura segura.

Si es necesario mover el paciente a una distancia
considerable podrá reposicionar la sábana MaxiSlide
inferior frente a la dirección de desplazamiento.

Cuidado de la sábana MaxiSlide

Instrucciones de limpieza

Los productos MaxiSlide, MaxiTube™,
MaxiTransfer™ pued en li mpiar se usand o una solución
a base de cloro (de hasta 10 000 ppm), una sol ución a
base de alcohol (de hasta un 70 %) o una solución
esterilizante de buena calidad.

Además pueden lavarse a una temperatura máxima de
80 °C (175 °F) y dejarse secar por goteo.

Si es necesario puede reducirse el tiempo de secado
utilizando una secadora por centrifugado a baja
temperatura, tras lo cual las sábanas deslizantes pueden
ofrecer un aspecto arrugado que no debería afectar su
eficacia.

¡Atención!

• Por favor asegúrese de que los productos
MaxiSlide™, MaxiTube™, MaxiTransfer™
siempre se recojan o cuelguen después de usarse
para evitar que la gente resbale en ellos
accidentalmente.

• Los productos MaxiSlide, MaxiTube, MaxiTransfer
no han sido diseñados para dejarse debajo del
paciente. No obstante, si es necesario que el
paciente permanezca largo tiempo en la cama
puede ser posible, sujeto a una evaluación clínica
del paciente e interponiendo algo tal como una
sábana de algodón, dejar el producto debajo del
paciente.

• Por favor verifique regularmente los productos
MaxiSlide, MaxiTube, MaxiTransfer para
asegurarse de que no muestren señales de desgaste
y sustitúyalos según sea necesario.

manoevers carried out with the MaxiSlide.

The techniques shown are based on sound

biomechanical principles. Pushing actions are
carried out at a high level to avoid stooping and to
allow use of the strong leg muscles. Pulling is
carried out at a lower height, with the elbows
straight, to avoid overuse of the shoulders and allow
use of the leg muscles to achieve the movement.
Where there is a choice it is preferable to push
rather than pull.

• Pushing 80 -120cm off ground

• Pulling 60-80cm off ground (depending on your
height)

Peak load is reduced by 50% if the manoeuvre is
carried out slowly. This reduces the physical load
experienced by the carer, and gentle movement is
preferred by the patient.

Sliding sheets are generally removed once the
manoeuvre is c omplete, but in some circumstances
e.g. at night to allow patients more independent
movement, they may be left in place. In these
circumstances a suitable assessment must be carried
out to ensure the patients safety.

Warning: Ensure that sliding sheets are
never dropped or left on the floor, as they
are extremely slippy and accidents could
occur.

Full laundering instructions are included with the
MaxiSlide but always ensure you follow your
organizations infection control policy regarding
laundering, disinfection and reuse of this product.

• Note: Sliding techniques may be

used successfully with patients of all
dependency levels, but they must be
subject to a suitable assessment. Factors
you should consider are the environment,
(bed, space, type of sliding sheets)
characteristics of the patient (ability to
assist, size, medical condition,
comprehension, level of any pain, weight)
the task you are carrying out, the carers
individual capability (never attempt to
carry out a task which you feel exceeds
your individual capability).

Using your MaxiSlide

General

The MaxiSlide is a unique, ergonomically designed
device having ultra-low friction properties, which
will aid carers in moving or positioning patients
whilst, at the same time, encouraging good posture
without causing undue stress to either the patient or
the carer.

The MaxiSlide will also encourage the patient to
help themselves wherever possible.

Warning: MaxiSlide has not been
designed to, and must not therefore be
used to lift patients.

This document uses the following ArjoHuntleigh
patient categories from the ‘Residents Gallery’:

Albert: is able to perform daily activities
independently, but may require special aids.

Barbara: is capable of performing most daily
activities independently, with some assistance.
Carl: requires assistance with many of his daily
activities.
Doris: requires a high level of assistance with all
her daily activities.
Emma: is not capable of performing daily activities
independently.

MaxiSlides using the

unravelling technique

Some patients may not be suitable for rolling, for
example when they are in pain, or due to th eir size.
In th is instance this technique may be used to insert
two full length MaxiSlide sheets. The technique is
firstly shown as a detail without the patient so it is
easier to see what is happening.

Place both MaxiSlide sheets together lengthwise.
Fold the two MaxiSlide sheets into 6”-8" (152 –
203mm) folds and then turn over so that the folds
are underneath.

Hold both MaxiSlide sheets with your outside hand
to secure them, and with the inside hand palm up
unravel each fold, taking care to keep your hand in
contact with the bed, do not lift upwards.
Unravelling the folds of the sheets away from the
patient prevents skin shear.

Using your MaxiSlide

It is recommended that you unravel the MaxiSlide
sheets from the patients head downwards, as this
follows the direction of the patients clothes and
helps prevent the sheets getting caught.

In case of pressure relieving mattresses gently push
down on the mattress to assist with fitting. You may
also find it helpful to set the mattress pressure to a
firm setting for the procedure.

Doris - Turning in bed with two
people

This technique can be used with a patient who is
unable to assist and hence requires 2 carers to
reposition in bed.

Ensure the bed is at the correct height for the f itting
of the MaxiSlide sheets and using the
‘unravelling technique’ fit them underneath the
patient, starting at the patient's head.

The patient is moved towards one side of the bed to
allow space to turn onto her side. At this point the
bed is lowered, as the physical action to be
undertaken is mainly pulling.

The carer grasps the MaxiSlide handles and adopts
a ‘walk’ stance and using her bodyweight pulls
the patient gently towards her.

Using the principles of normal movement the carer
then turns the patient towards the second carer using
a gentle rolling movement. The patient may need
to have her hips, shoulders and legs repositioned for
comfort.

Remove both MaxiSlide sheets from behind the
patient rather than the front, as this is where the
majority of the slide material ends up following the
technique.

Using the principles of normal movement wherever
possible, prepare the patient to turn to the side
desired.

Using your MaxiSlide

Doris - Moving up the bed, two
people, pulling

Use of a profiling bed can prevent a patient from
slipping down towards the foot end. However, if
such a bed is not available the following technique
can be used to slide the patient back towards the
head end

This technique may be used where the bed is at a
low height, hence a pullin g action is desirable. The
patient is unable to assist with the movement.

The MaxiSlide sheets and tube have been fitted
beneath the patient to remove any 'shearing' effects
of the movement.

Each carer stands either side of the bed and holds
the top MaxiSlide with the closest hand to the
bed.

Ensuring good communication the carers move

Emma - Lateral transfer onto trolley

Two MaxiSlide sheets are fitted using the
‘unravelling’ method. Use a Maxitube under the
patient's feet if necessary.

• Note: It is vital that you ensure that

the trolley and the bed are of
approximately equal height. It will
however assist with the manoeuvre if the
surface the patient is being transferred

Four Pull Straps are fitted to the top MaxiSlide, at
shoulders, hip and feet. The Pull Straps prevent the
carers from having to over reach.

Using your MaxiSlide

The two carers on the pulling side grasp the Pull
Straps. The carer on the ‘pushing’ side will assist
with initiating the transfer, taking care not to
overstretch.

Using clear commands and working as a team the
two carers use a ‘walk’ stance and step back from
the trolley, using their bodyweight to move the
patient.

Final repositioning in the center of the trolley is
achieved by using the handles on the MaxiSlide.

Remove both slide sheets to complete the move.

Moving out of a confined space on the
floor (any fallen patient)

On finding a patient on the floor always ensure the
correct health checks have been made prior to
attempting to move them. If the patient is assessed
as safe to move, this technique can be used to
manoeuvre them into a space where a hoist can be
used.

Place a pillow under the patient's head.

Using two MaxiSlide sheets and the ‘unravelling’
technique place the sheets beneath the patient,
ensuring they have been positioned beneath the
pillow, this will protect the patient's head during the
movement.

If space allows attaching the Pull Straps will enable
you to stand, and work in a healthy posture.

If you require moving the patient over a greater
distance you can reposition the lower MaxiSlide in
front of the direction of travel.

Care of your MaxiSlide

Cleaning Instructions

The MaxiSlide, MaxiTube™, MaxiTransfer™ can
be wiped clean using either a chlorine based
solution (up to 10,000 ppm), or an alcohol based
solution (up to 70%).

In addition they can be washed at a maximum
temperature of 80˚C (175˚F), and drip dried.

If necessary a low temperature tumble dry can
reduce drying times however, the sliding sheets may
develop a wrinkled appearance which should not
affect performance.

Attention!

• Please ensure that the MaxiSlide, MaxiTube,
MaxiTransfer are always packed away or
hung up after use in order to prevent people
accidentally slipping on them.

• The MaxiSlide, MaxiTube, MaxiTransfer are not
designed to be left directly under the patient.
However in the case where there is a need for
long term patient positioning in bed, it may be
possible, based on a clinical evaluation of the
patient and using an interface such as a cotton
sheet, to leave the product under the pa ti en t

• Please check the MaxiSlide, MaxiTube,
MaxiTransfer regularly for any signs of wear
and replace as necessary.

• The MaxiSlide, MaxiTube, MaxiTransfer should
only be used where no better alternative to
moving or positioning the patient is available.
