Important advice before starting:
The “Bully” Power Pack contains an internal accumulator which has to be recharged regularly every 4 to 6 weeks, even if the device is not in use. If the LED indicates a low charging level, the device has to be recharged immediately. The accumulator has already been charged by the manufacturer. Nevertheless you should recharge the device with the power cable before using it for the first time. This power cable is constructed in a way that the accumulator of the device cannot be overcharged.
Safety instructions:
The internal accumulator of the “Bully” Power Pack is a lead-acid battery. This battery is classified as leak proof and uses a unique sealing technology which ensures that the electrolyte cannot leak from the battery. If it is necessary to replace this battery, you should ask a qualified technician to execute this replacement. Every standard battery of the same type can be used to replace the internal battery of the Power Pack (e.g. from Varta, Moll, etc.). It can be dangerous to work near lead-acid batteries, because this type of battery produces explosive gasses during the process of charging and starting. To reduce the risk of an explosion, please read carefully the instructions for this device and the safety instructions provided by the manufacturer of the car battery. Please take note of the manufacturer’s special instuctions on the battery, as well! Use the “Bully“ Power Pack only for bridging lead-acid batteries. It is

not intended to supply electrical low-voltage systems with energy, but solely to be used as a jump start. Neither should you try to charge dry cell batteries, which are frequently used in the household, because these dry cells can explode while being charged and they can cause major damage.
- If you are going to work with a lead-acid batterie, always ask another person to stick around in case you need any help.
- Always keep enough fresh water and soap ready to hand in case you need any.
- Always wear safety glasses and protective clothing and avoid by all means contact of your eyes with the battery while you are working with it.
- If your skin or your clothes have come into contact with some of the acid of the battery, treat the affected area with water and soap immediately. See a doctor at once, if despite the treatment with water and soap you feel any skin irritation or pain in the affected area. If some of the acid has got into your eyes, rinse them immediately with running cold water for at least ten minutes and see a doctor afterwards as quickly as possible.
- Do not smoke near the battery and do not light any fires or open lights near it either.
- Do not deposit any tools on the battery, because you run the risk of causing a short circuit by doing so.
- If you want to work with a lead-acid battery, you should take off any jewellery, because otherwise it might cause a short circuit.
- Do not use any loose cables near the clips for the jump start of the Power Pack. They might cause a short circuit in its accumulator and this in turn could lead to an explosion.
- Never connect the crocodile clips with each other. Neither should they touch each other by accident because flying firebrands might cause a fire.
- Apart from this you also risk an overheating of the accumulator, which in turn can cause an explosion, as well.

Special ingenious qualities:
Forward-looking AGM battery technology:
The “Bully“ Power Pack is equipped with the forward-looking AGM (“absorbed glass mat“) technology which makes possible an ultra-flat configuration of the cell plates. Because of this technology the device is able to provide more than 500 ampere for the jump start of heavy engines. The ultra-flat design of its battery makes the “Bully” Power Pack a lightweight among Power Packs and it can be transported easily.
Use as a jump start:
The “Bully“ Power Pack is a strong jump start for emergencies and can be used for trucks, cars, vans, and most of the 12 Volt loads. The Power Pack works in very low temperatures, as well.
Before using the jump start function, please pay special attention to the following safety instructions:
First turn off the car’s ignition.
Then turn off all other loads in the car as well (like for example the lights, the radio, the fans, the
airconditioning, etc.).
See to it that the work environment is well aired.
Always protect your eyes with safety glasses and wear protective clothing.
Also take off all your jewellery.
Do not smoke. Avoid any open fires.
Do not deposit any tools on the battery of the car.
Do not work with loose cables near the crocodile clips of the “Bully“ Power Pack.
5
The jump start function:
1. Begin by connecting the red crocodile clip of the “Bully“ Power Pack to the positive pole of the car battery.
2. Then connect the black crocodile clip of the „Bully“ PowerPack to the negative pole of the car chassis.
3. Keep away ist cables from mobile elements in the engine compartment.
4. Now you can start the engine of the car.
5. First disconnect the black crocodile clip and then the red one from the battery of the car. Clip them on the clamps of the “Bully” Power Pack which are intended for them.
Use as a current source:
The “Bully“ Power Pack possesses an internal accumulator with 12V/18Ah. So you can use the Power Pack as a source of direct current for most of the loads which are provided with 12V direct current by using a plug for cigarette lighters. To obtain the necessary tension, just connect the plug for cigarette lighters of the load that you want to supply with energy to one of the two 12V output contacts. Please note: You can only supply loads with energy which do not need more than 10 A. The output contacts of the Power Pack possess an automatic fuse that shuts down the device if the tension is higher than 10 A. If such a shutdown has occurred, disconnect the Power Pack immediately from the load you want to supply with energy. After about three minutes the fuse will deblock the output contacts. To calculate how long your “Bully” Power Pack can supply a load with energy, you have to know how much energy (how many ampere) this load needs. Then you have to divide the total of ampere hours of the internal accumulator by this value to get the number of hours the load will run. For example: The internal accumulator has a capacity of 18 Ah and you want to supply a small portable TV-set with energy (which normally needs 2,5 A), then it will run for about seven hours (18 Ah divided by 2,5 A). If your load needs 1A, the charge is sufficient for 18 hours; if it needs 0,5 A, then it is sufficient for 36 hours. Of course, these time specifications are only approximative values and they only apply to a fully charged internal accumulator.
Instructions for the charging:
The “Bully“ Power Pack possesses an internal accumulator which has to be recharged regularly. To make sure that the device can always run at full capacity, you should recharge it for at least five hours after having used the Power Pack. Please note: The accumulator also discharges when the device is not in use. This is why you should recharge it every four to six weeks. To control the tension of the accumulator, disconnect the mains plug from the socket and press the button for the indication of the charging status on the front of the device. On the right side of it there are the LEDs for the charging status of the accumulator: “low”, “medium”, and “high”.
Low (red): The accumulator has to be recharged immediately. Medium (green): The accumulator should be recharged soon. High (green): You do not have to recharge the accumulator.
The “Bully“ Power Pack possesses an internal power supply unit. To start the charging of the internal accumulator of the device, just connect the mains plug of the “Bully” Power Pack to a socket. Then the red LED which indicates the charging level will light up. The internal power supply unit is an automatic battery charger with voltage stabilizer which the internal accumulator from being overcharged. This innovative technology makes it possible to keep the device connected to the socket for a long time without running the risk of damaging the Power Pack.
Troubleshooting:
In order to ensure a troublefree use of your “Bully“ Power Pack, you should pay special attention to the following points:
1. When you buy your “Bully” Power Pack, the internal accumulator has already been charged.
Nevertheless you should recharge it once for a short time before using the device.
2. The internal accumulator should only be charged with the accessories provided by the manufacturer.
3. The Power Pack is only constructed to supply low-voltage loads (of 12 Volt) which need direct current
with energy. By contrast, loads that need 110/230 or 240 Volt alternating current cannot be supplied with energy by this Power Pack.
4. If the LED “low” which indicates the level of charging lights up, the current source has to be recharged
immediately.
5. Avoid recharging your “Bully” Power Pack at temperatures lower than 39,2°F / 4°C or higher than
104°F / 40°C.
6
6. Do not expose your “Bully” Power Pack to rain or moisture.
7. If your “Bully“ Power Pack is not in use, it should nevertheless be kept fully charged. If you want to store it for a long period of time, you should recharge the device every four to six weeks.
8. It can be dangerous to connect loads with reversed polarity to the Power Pack. So it is best to check the polarity of the load you want to supply with energy before actually connecting it to your “Bully” Power Pack.
9. If you are going to use the output contacts of the Power Pack, make sure that the positive pole of the plug for cigarette lighters of the load to be supplied with current is at the central pin. If you are not sure about this, ask a qualified technician for help.
How to replace the internal accumulator:
The internal accumulator of the “Bully” Power Pack runs for a long time if it is maintained correctly. If nevertheless the accumulator cannot be recharged any more, it should only be replaced by a qualified technician. The accumulator of the Power Pack can be replaced by any standard accumulator of the same type.
