Weekly, or a s need ed - Clean the device, associated components, and accessories as needed with a d amp, non-saturate d cloth or p aper towel. Do not wet the expose d metal p art of the battery charge termin als. D o not use s olvent s or scou ring agent s. Exa mples of approved solve nts are Cidex® and Windex ®. Con sult Anton/ Bauer Customer Support Group for approve d list of cleaning agents.
Perio dic cleaning of both the c harger termin als and battery terminals will ensure continued reliable o peration. Clean the terminals occasionally with a penci l erase r or ligh tly scra pe the su rface with a blunt instrument to help re duce the likely hood of build up causing poo r communication or charging.
Contact Anton/Bauer Customer Support Group with additiona l inquires as to maintenance.
CAUTION! Keep batteries cool or at roo m
temperatures whenever possible. Sustained elevate d temperatur es are the prima ry reason for premature f ailure of Lithium-I on batteries .
CAUTION! Charge batterie s at room
temperature . In warm c limates keep charg ers in air conditione d rooms for best performance.
CAUTION! Although L ithium-ion h as goo d
selfdischarge characteristics, batteries shoul d be store d for long term sto rage in a fully charged condition.
CAUTION! Batterie s should always be stored
in a fully charg ed state and kept cool. If batteries must be stored for a lo ng period (over 30 days), the battery electronic s will enter a “deep sle ep” mo de. The battery will “wake up ” when placed on a charg er. It is always a go od idea to submit the battery to a discharge/cha rge cycl e from time to time during storage.
Air Transportation Regulation
1. US Code of Federal Regulations Title 49 Subtitle B.
2. International Air Transport Associations (IATA)
Dangerous Goods Regulation (DGR).
3. International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO)
regulations apply to all Lithium-Ion battery transport.
Since the interpretation and application of
regulations may vary with the aviation company,
the transport of the Anton/Bauer Titon Series
batter y may be disallowed even when the conditions
described above are satisfied. Anton/Bauer therefore
strongly recommends that you consult with your
transportation company prior to transporting the
battery pack.

Titon Series LCD
Every Titon Series batter y has an easy to read LCD which conveniently reports battery information in one of two ways.
8
When the batter y is sitting idle (no load is applied) the LCD will
1.
show remaining capacity as percentage of full.
When the batter y is powering an item (a load is applied), the LCD will
2.
display remaining run-time in Hours/Minutes.
9
The Titon Series features an Integrated PowerTap® and USB ports on the side of the battery to power camera accessories . The PowerTap® allows for convenient deployment of up to 10 Amps of DC current for various parallel devices . The USB port supplies a regulated 5 volts and maximum 2 Amps current and may be used for charging mobile devices.
Mount a ny Titon Series b atter y to any open position on an A nton/Bauer charg er and the charger will automatically determine the appropriate charge routine and execute it.
In some c ases a batter y may be discharged to a ver y low voltage level causi ng the batter y to be unrecog nizable to the ch arger when fi rst attached.
10
Will deliver a high rate charge matched to th e capabilities of the battery (typic ally a one or two hour rate, dep ending on bat tery t ype). During this stage, six separate cuto m ethods are in operation, simultaneously, ensuring the fastest, safest charg e for that b atter y.
Charg ing is a BA LAN CING or “sta bilizing” mode which calculates eac h battery pac k type to oset any imbalance of the bat tery ’s cells , create d by unequal self-discharge o r any cap acity m ismatc h of the individu al cells in the pa ck. This stag e can vary in duration from ze ro to as muc h as 16 ho urs, depending o n the con dition of the bat tery. The Stage Two charge reduces current au tomatically as the battery charges maintaining the cells at a safe voltage leve l. A bat tery will typi cally l eave Stage Two in 2-4 h ours under average op erating conditions.
Charg ing is the Anton/ Baue r exclusive Lifes aver® mainte nance m ode. T his pate nted pulse routine keeps batteri es full y charg ed, free from selfdischarge - in definitely - without da magin g heat associated with a so-c alled “trickle charge”. Th e Stage Three program ming mo nitors the selfdischarge of th e batte ry, providing charge on ly when th e battery self-discharges to about 95% of its capacity.
