Getting to Know the Router

Modem:
4" LCD touch screen. Displays the user interface for
configuring the Router.
Input tool that assists in navigating the LCD
touch screen menu.
RJ-SMA antenna connector. Compatible with
antennas that have RP-SMA connectors.
USB 2.0 Port used to attach USB storage devices, such as
a USB flash drive or external hard drive, for file sharing.
Turn the Router on or off.Power Switch:
Attach and fasten to the mounting holes on the
back of the Router.
Power adapter port. DC 12V, 2A.Power (PWR):
RJ-45 Gigabit port for connecting to your Broadband Modem.

RJ-45 Gigabit ports for connecting wired computers or network devices.
Button used to reset device. Push down once to reboot,
hold down for 5-10 seconds to reset to factory default settings.
Setting Up Your Router
Disconnect & Power Off your
Existing Router
Disconnect your existing router from your computer, your
broadband modem, and a power outlet. If you do not have
an existing router please continue to Step 2.
Power Off your Modem
Power off the modem by disconnecting the modem’s power
adapter from the power outlet. If your modem has a backup
battery, remove the backup battery from your modem.

Do NOT power on your modem until Step 4.
Connect the Router to your Modem

Use the included blue Ethernet cable and
connect one end of the cable to your modem.

Do NOT connect the power adapter to the
Router at this time.
Power On your Modem
Plug in the power adapter and reinsert the backup battery
(if available) to power on the modem.

as the unit boots up, then the Dashboard
screen will appear.

Welcome to the Dashboard
The Dashboard will provide you with the current status
of the Router.
If your router is already configured and has Internet
access, tap Wi-Fi Setup to configure your Wi-Fi
networks and skip ahead to Step 9 of this Setup
Guide.
If your router is not configured yet, tap Basic Setup to
launch the Setup Wizard.

If you have not already done so in Step 2, please
reboot your Modem and check that your Modem is
connected to the Router. Once this is complete tap
Next.
Internet Connection Setup
Select Automatic Setup (DHCP) to have the Wizard
automatically configure your Internet connection.
For more advanced users who wish to manually
configure their IP address settings, please tap
Manual/Static IP.
For Internet Service Providers that require a login and
password to access the Internet, tap Setup Requiring
a Login. This login is not the login you use to access
the Wi-Fi network. If you are not sure what this is
please contact your Internet Service Provider.

Automatic Setup - Welcome to the Setup Wizard
The Wizard will try to detect your Internet settings and
configure the Router. Please be patient.
If there is a problem with the Automatic Setup, the
Wizard will notify you of the issue. If you continue to
have problems, contact our Elite Support department
at 888-573-8820.
If the Internet connection detection was successful, you
will see a green check mark.
Tap Next to continue.

Personalize your Wi-Fi Settings
The default IDs of your 5GHz Wi-Fi network and
2.4GHz Wi-Fi network are: Amped_TAPR3_5.0 and
Amped_TAPR3_2.4
To change it, tap the SSID field to configure the name of your
Wi-Fi network. Users connecting wirelessly to the Router will
use these IDs to identify your Wi-Fi networks.
The default Security Key of your Wi-Fi networks is: wireless.
To change it, tap the Security Key field and enter a new key for
each Wi-Fi network. The keys must be at least 8 characters long.
Click Next to apply your settings.

Setup Summary
Navigating the Touch Menu
Home Button:
Language Selection:
Tap the Home icon, found on the bottom of many screens,
to return to the Dashboard at any time.
Tap the Globe icon, found on the bottom of the Settings
screen, to change the language of the menu.
Congratulations, the Router is now configured. The
Setup Summary provides you with the details of your
setup. You may now connect additional devices directly
to the 4 wired ports on the bottom panel or connect
wirelessly to the Router.

Tap the Left Arrow, found on the upper left corner of many
screens, to navigate back to the previous page.
Tap the Left or Right Arrow to navigate between multiple
pages for one screen. The dots in this example indicate
there are 3 pages to see.
Tap on a Blank Field to access a keyboard or keypad
for entering in information such as your Network ID and
Security Key.
This is the second page of the Setup Guide. Start on the opposite side first.
How to Connect to the Router
The network ID and password listed below are the default Wi-Fi network settings.
Your network ID and password will be different if you have already configured the Router.

Windows 7 & Vista
Click on the Wireless icon to see available wireless
networks (For Vista, click Start > Connect To). Select
the Amped_TAPR3_5.0 or Amped_TAPR3_2.4 network
and click Connect. When prompted for a password,
enter "wireless".

Mac OS X
Click on the Wireless icon to see available wireless
networks. Select the Amped_TAPR3_5.0 or
Amped_TAPR3_2.4 network. When prompted for a
password, enter "wireless".
Windows 8
Swipe in from the right edge to access the charms
bar, tap on Settings, select the Wi-Fi icon, and select
the Amped_TAPR3_5.0 or Amped_TAPR3_2.4
network. When prompted for a password, enter
"wireless".

Tap on your Settings icon, select Wi-Fi, and choose
the Amped_TAPR3_5.0 or Amped_TAPR3_2.4
network. When prompted for a password, enter
"wireless".

A. Press the Home button to get to the homepage.
B. Tap the Settings app icon.
C. Tap on Wi-Fi to enter the iPad’s Wi-Fi settings.
D. Toggle the Wi-Fi On/Off selector switch to On.
E. Under "Choose a Network...", select:
Amped_TAPR3_5.0 or Amped_TAPR3_2.4
F. When prompted, enter the wireless security key:
"wireless".
Android Tablet
A. Tap the Apps menu on the tablet screen.
B. Locate and tap the Settings app icon.
C. Under "Wireless & networks," tap Wi-Fi settings.
D. Tap the Wi-Fi box to turn on Wi-Fi and scan.
E. Under "Wi-Fi networks", select:
Amped_TAPR3_5.0 or Amped_TAPR3_2.4
F. When prompted, enter the wireless security key:
"wireless".

Accessing More Settings
More Settings
The Settings menu
can be accessed
from the Dashboard.
Tap More Settings.
Wi-Fi Settings
Tap 2.4GHz or 5GHz Wi-Fi Settings to modify Wi-Fi related features:
Change your network
SSID, Security Key
and other settings in
Basic Settings.
The More Settings
menu gives you
access to a number
of different features.
Scroll left/right to
access all settings.
Set up Guest
Networks with an ID
and Security Key
that’s different from
your primary network.
Control when your
Wi-Fi Network is on or
off with Access
Schedule.
Network Settings
Tap Network Settings to configure IP address settings:
View and adjust IP
and DHCP server
settings for your local
network with Local
Settings.
Security Settings
Adjust the distance
(output power) of your
Wi-Fi network using
Wireless Coverage
settings.
Configure the settings
for your Internet
(WAN) connection
with Internet Settings.
Tap Security Settings to access a number of security settings:
Control which
devices can access
your networks with
IP or MAC Address
User Access
controls.
Block all access to
websites containing
any keywords that
you choose with the
Blocked Websites
list.
Management Settings
Tap Management to access a number of administrative settings:
Set the timeout interval
for the screen to turn
off and set a passcode
to re-access the
screen using Screen
Settings.
Open the Router’s
firewall to allow
unrestricted access to
a single IP address or
device with DMZ.
Open ports on the
Router to allow remote
access for devices like
IP cameras or game
consoles with Port
Forwarding.
Set the time and date
from the Clock/Date
settings. Set the clock
to appear on the
screen after the
Router times out.
Check for the latest
software updates
using the Firmware
Update feature.
USB Storage
Tap USB Storage to access USB settings:
Share files locally
within your network
from any USB Storage device from the
Local Sharing menu.
Not all features listed. Access the menu for all settings.
View all devices
connected to the
Router from the
Connected Users
menu.
Share files remotely
by creating a FTP
Server from the FTP
menu.

Connect your Internet Device to the Router
Amped_TAPR3...
Open your Web Browser & Access the Setup Menu
Enter the setup web address into your browser:
http://setup.ampedwireless.com
If the URL fails to open, then try: http://192.168.3.1
Recommended browsers: Google Chrome, Safari or Internet Explorer (8.0 and up). Do not use Firefox.
ACCESSING THE WEB MENU DOES NOT REQUIRE INTERNET ACCESS.
THE MENU IS SERVED FROM THE ROUTER.
The web menu Dashboard will provide you with the current status of
the Router. The More Settings tab on the left will give you access to
more extensive settings.
NOTE: IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS ACCESSING THE WEB MENU
IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS ACCESSING THE WEB MENU...
Disable third-party firewalls such as Norton, ZoneAlarm or Windows Defender.
Check to see that your computer is NOT connected to any wireless networks.
Accessing the setup menu does not require Internet access. The menu is served from the Router.
How to Reset the Router to Default Settings
There are three options to reset the Router back to factory default settings:

Bottom Panel of the Router
Hold down the Reset button for five to ten (5-10) seconds. You may need to
use a pen tip or pin to access the button. Pressing the Reset Button for less
than five (5) seconds will simply reboot the Router while saving your existing
settings.

Touch Menu
Tap the Reset button through the touch menu: More Settings > Management
> Reset Settings. Select Reset All Settings.

Web Menu
Access the Reset button through the web menu on the left side: More Settings
> Management > Save/Reload Settings. Select Reset Settings to Default.
