The Illuminated Area of Rescue Sign(s) shall be
Alpha Communicat ions® / Tektone SI004 single-sided (or SI004/2
double-sided) or approved equal. The sign(s) shall 11.0" high x

22.0" wide x 2.75" deep. The sign(s) shall include area of rescue
assistanc e messages and symbols in White on a c ontrasting Blue
background illuminated by low-power Red LEDs. The sign(s) shall
be equipped with two (2) movable emergency bat tery-powered
back-up lights.

The sign(s) shall c omply with ADA requirements. In addition,
contract or shall observe all local and national elec trical and
building codes.

The SI004 and SI004/2 Illuminated Area of Rescue Signs provide
indication for Area of Rescue loc ations. The signs comply with
the Americans with Disabilities Ac t (ADA) requirements, and are
intended to be used in c onjunction with Alpha Communicat ions®
/ TekTone NC150R Area of Rescue Syst ems, AlphaRefuge™
Systems (or equivalents systems by others).

The signs provide visual directions to areas where people who
require assistance in evacuating a building can go to
await assistanc e. The SI004 is a single-sided bac k-lit sign and the

SI004/2 is a double-sided unit, having back-lit signs on both the

front and t he bac k.
