SF401EX Strain Relief CableSF401EX Strain Relief Cable
The Alpha Communicat ions® / TekTone SF401EX Strain Relief Cable is used to increase the
life span of c all cords, pillow speakers and room stations. T he c able is placed between the
call c ord or pillow speaker and the room stat ion.
If the call cord or pillow speaker is att ac hed to a bed and then t he bed is pulled away,
the strain relief c able disconnect s. T his prevents damage to both the room station and the
call c ord or pillow speaker.
The SF401EX is typically used with the NC300 , NC300II and TC400 nurse-call syst ems
where an 8-pin 'DIN' type jac k is used at the patient bed station(s). Typically they are used
with the IR319B, IR320B, IR411, IR411EPB, IR412, and IR412EPB or similar patient stations.

The strain relief c able(s) shall be Alpha Communications® / TekTone model SF401EX or
approved equal.
The SF401EX shall be plugged into an Alpha Communications® / TekTone c all cord or
pillow speaker and then into a room st ation t o provide break-away action when st ressed.
The strain relief c able shall be approximately 6", and shall be terminated with one mail 'DIN'
connector and one female 'DIN' connec tor. The c onnec tor ends shall be molded t o provide
durability. A c ord-out shall report at the annunciator(s)/master station(s) if t he c able is
disconnected at either end.
The SF401EX shall be UL 1069 listed.
