The visual only single patient station(s) shall be Alpha
Communications® / T ekTone SF380A, or approved equal and shall
include a lighted 'CALL-PLACED' indicator, a 'CANCEL' button, and a
jack for t he required model SF301/8 (single) call-c ords or model

SF302 (double) call-c ords (or other specialty type c ords as

required). Calls will be registered at t he master station(s),
corridor light(s) and any optional corridor zone lights. The
stat ion's 'CALL-PLACED' LED will light if the call switch is pushed or
of t he c all-cord is removed from its jac k. All elect ronic components
needed for t hese features and funct ions shall be mounted on a
printed circuit board and all station components shall be mounted
on a rugged flame retardant (UL® 94V-0) White plast ic
fac eplate. The stat ion shall be mounted into a standard single
gang elect rical box (or ring). A plug-in c onnector shall be provided
for connect ions.

The SF380A shall be UL® 1069 Listed and shall meet or exceed
UL®'s requirement to withstand 8kV Electrostatic Discharge (ESD).

Contractor shall observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.

The Alpha Communicat ions® / TekTone SF380A visual only
patient stat ion uses micro-c ontroller technology. The SF 380A
is used primarily with the NC300/NC300II series nurse-c all syst ems
and it c ontrols two (2) dome indicat ors (Red and White), senses
button presses and switch closures, and provides ROUTINE, BATH
EMERGENCY and CODE CALLS.

The SF380A provides ROUTINE call input via a jack for the insertion
of a model SF301/8 (single), SF302 (double) (or equivalent), and
can signal a medium priority CORD OUT c all. When used with an
Emergency St ation, t he SF380A provides a medium priority BATH
EMERGENCY call. When used with an Code Station, the SF380A
provides a high priority CODE call. The st ation addressing is
accomplished using a seven (7)- position dip switc h. Six (6)
switc hes set t he st ation address and the seventh switc h
determines whether lamps are supervised. T he st ation includes a
lighted 'CALL-PLACED' indicat or when a c all is placed and a
'CANCEL' button, mounted on a rugged ABS white plastic
fac eplate. The SF380A is a drop-in replacement for t he SF380C,
with dipswitc h-select able lamp supervision.
