Architects' And Engineers'
Specifications
Duty Stat ion(s) shall be Alpha Communications®
/ TekTone model IR315F, or approved equal.
Model IR315F shall include LSI/Microprocessor
tec hnology, combination yellow c all placed
indicator and c all button, combination red in use
indicator and reset butt on, and red
emergency/code call indicator. Audible and visual
signaling of normal and emergency c alls shall be
provided. Three distinctive tone volume levels
shall be available and shall be field-programmable
at the st ation. It shall be possible via
user programming, to select the call priorities
the duty st ation will annunciate. The st ation
shall utilize a 2.50" x 2.50" speaker/microphone
for accurate voice reproduction. All IR315F
components shall be mounted on an att ract ive
flame retardant ABS plastic faceplate, in fog
white c olor. Connections shall be pug-in type.
The IR315F shall be U.L. 1069 listed to the
latest 4th Edition St andards. Contractor shall
observe all local and national electrical and
building codes.
IR315F Duty Station
The IR315F duty station provides reliable two way, hands free communication
between the nurse master st ation and utility and examination rooms, kitc hen, or any
locat ion where a nurse may perform a funct ion out of hearing or sight range of t he
master stat ion.
Calls are placed from the duty stat ion to the master station by use of a momentary
push button. Calls answered at the master station c ause the red in use indicator on
the duty st ation to light and the nurse may then carry on a conversation from the
remot e loc ation.
A call originating from a patient stat ion is indicated bot h audibly and visually at the
duty station to which it is assigned. Normal calls are indicated by a st eady
illumination of the yellow call-placed indicator and a slowly repeating tone.
Emergency/bath calls c ause alternate flashing of the yellow call-placed and red
emergency indicators and a rapidly repeating t one. Code calls function the same as
emergency calls, but at twice t he pulse rate. Dome light indication is also provided.
All c alls initiated from stations ot her than t he duty stat ion can only be reset at t he
master stat ion or point of origin.
