Allen & Heath M-Waves Quick Setup Guide
Registration
You must re giste r your Alle n & Heath M-Waves card to obtain the softw are, the drivers and any licenses needed.
To register your device, log i nto your Waves account at www.waves.com.
Go to Waves.com > Downloads > Hardware Drive rs, and select Al len & Heath M-Waves.
Download the latest vers ion f or Mac or PC, as needed.
Run the installer and follow the onscreen instructions.
Connections
Inse rt the M-Waves to your Allen & Heath stage box .
Connect the Allen & Heath M-Waves card to your computer.
If you are using just one M-Waves card, connect it directly to your computer’s Gigabit Ethernet port using the supplied cable.
If you are using several M-Waves cards and/or multiple SoundGrid interfaces, computers, etc., connect the m all to a SoundGrid-compatible switch and connect the switch to your computer’s Ethernet port.

Simple Recording/Playback Setup with the SoundGrid Studio Application
Use the SoundGrid Studio Application as your setup appli cation. Refer to the following images for configuration.
for a list of approved switches.

Note: The first time you run and configure your M-Waves card, you may be prompted to update the firmware of your devi ce. Follow the onscreen instructions.
There are also built-in templates to assist you with configuration. Se lect the template that best meets your setup. For recording and playback, select A& H REC-PB Standalone .
Finally, check in the PATCH tab that your M-Waves card is patched to the driver. If you’ve selected one of the prese t templates, this should be all done. If you’ve adjusted the number of driver channels, you may need to patch additional channels.
Note: Dependi ng on the number of channels you are recording or playing back and on the computer you are using, you may need to raise your network’s and/ or driver’ s buffer size setting in the Setti ngs page (P C) or dire ctly i n your DA W (Mac).

Setting Up Recording/Playback with MultiRack SoundGrid
If you are using the SoundGrid Studio Application together with MultiRack SoundGrid, set the SoundGrid Driv er to Free.
Use Multi Rack to assign the M–Waves card and set up driver channels—same as in previous versions.
