NOTE TO CATV SYSTEM INSTALLER
This reminder is provided to call the CATV (Cable- TV) system installer s attention to Article
820-40 of the NEC, which provides guidelines for proper grounding and, in particular that the
cable ground shall be connected to the grounding system of the building, as close to the point of
cable entry as practical.

ATTENTION
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for the FCC Rules. These
limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a
residential installation. This equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy
and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful
interference to radio communications.

1.3 SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. This production was designed and manufactured to meet strict quality and safety
standards. There are, however, some installation and operation precautions,
which you should be particularly aware of.
2. Read Instruction - All the safety and operating instructions should be read before
the appliance is operated.
3. Retain Instruction -The safety and operating instructions should be retained for
future reference.
4. Follow Instructions - All operating and use instructions should be followed.
5. Heed Warnings - All warning on the appliance and in the operating instructions
should be adhered to.
6. Water and Moisture -The appliance should not be used near water, for example,
near a bathtub, wash-bowl, kitchen sink laundry tub, in a wet basement or near a
swimming pool.
7. Do not turn on and off too frequently. Please accord to follow steps. Turning

10. Quick stops, excessive force, and uneven surfaces may cause the appliance and
cart combination to overturn.
11. Wall or Ceiling Mounting- the appliance should be mounted to a wall or ceiling
only as recommended by the manufacturer.
12. Ventilation - the appliance should be situated so that its location or position does
not interfere with its proper ventilation. For example, the appliance should not be
situated on a bed, sofa, rug or similar, surface that may block the ventilation
openings; or, placed in a built-in installation, such as a bookcase or cabinet that
may impede the flow of air through the ventilation opening.
13. Heat - The appliance should be situated away from heat sources such as
radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other appliances (including amplifiers) that
produce heat.
14. Power Sources -The appliance should be connected to a power supply only of
the type described in the operating instructions or as marked on the appliance.
15. Grounding or Polarization - The precautions that should be taken so that
grounding or polarization means of an appliance is not defeated.
16. Cleaning - The appliance should be cleaned only as recommended by the
manufacturer.
17. Power Lines - An outdoor antenna should be located away from power lines.
18. Power-Cord Protection - Power-supply cords should be routed so-that they are
not likely to be walked on or pinched by items placed upon or against them, paying
particular attention to cords at plugs, convenience receptacles, and the point
where they exit from the appliance.
19. Outdoor Antenna Grounding- If an outside antenna connected to the receiver,
be sure the antenna system grounded so as to provide some protection against
voltage surges and built up static charges.
Section 810 of the National Electrical Code, ANS1/NFPA Number 70-1984 provides
information with respect to proper grounding of the lead-in wire to an antenna discharge unit,
connection to grounding electrodes, and requirements for the ground unit electrode.
1. Non-use Periods - The power cord of the appliance should be unplugged from
the outlet when left unused for a long period of time.

11. Replacement Parts - When replacement parts are required, be sure the service
technician or that have the same characteristics as the original part. Unauthorised
substitutions may result in fire, electric shock or other hazards

it is left unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall
outlet and disconnect the antenna or cable system. This will prevent damage to
the product due to lightening and power-line surges.
