If the protection indicator continues to light for any reason, e.g., the power transistor may be damaged, turn the power off and take it to the nearest Akai service station.

6. SUBSONIC EU TER
- SUBSONIC FILTER This appliance is able to amplify down to DC and is equipped with a subsonic filter. The subsonic filter is designed to cut out the low frequency noise which occurs when the power is switched ON or when there is noise caused by warped records both of which are bad for the speakers. The cut off frequency is 18 Hz. If the pre-amplifier PS-200C is used with this machine, this filter is unnecessary unless the source signals are very poor. If another pre-amplifier is used, especially in the case of lower grade pre-amplifier jource signals are very to prevent D.C. from entering and damaging the speakers.

8. SPEAKER SYSTEM TERMINALS
SPEAKER SYSTEM TERMINALS Connect the right channel speaker system to the RIGHT speaker terminals and connect the left channel speaker system to the LEFT speaker terminals. Be sure to match the positive (+: red) with the negative polarities. WARNING: IMPROPER SPEAKER CONNECTION MAY CAUSE ELECTRICAL SHOCK AND/OR FIRE. AT CERTAIN POWER OUTPUTS THE SPEAKER TERMINALS OF THIS MODEL ARE DANGEROUS, PLEASE USE SPEAKER CONNECTION CABLES WITH AN ADE-OUATE INSULATION THICKNESS OF NOT LESS THAN 0.8 mm AND A CURRENT CAPACITY OF NOT LESS THAN 15A. MODELS DESTINED FOR NORTH AMERICA COME WITH POWER SUPPLY CORD, PLEASE USE THE SAME TYPE OF 2 CON-DUCTOR FLEXIBLE CORD (TYPE SPT-2 OR POT-32, AWG #16).

INTERRUPTEUR D'ALIMENTATION Le circuit de protection est activé pour protéger les haut-parleurs lorsque l'interrupteur d'alimentation est activé (ON). En cas d'utilisation d'un autre préamplificateur, et particièrement pour des préamplificateur, et apticièrement pour des préamplificateur de qualité inférieure, nous vous conseillons d'utiliser ce filtre afin d'empêcher la pénétration du courant continu dans les haut-parleurs.

Dieser Unter-schaltfilter hat die Aufgabe, die niedrigen Frequenz-geräusche, die beim Einschalten des Gerätes entstehen, auszuschalten, oder Geräusche, die von beschädigten Schaltplatten kommen, denn beide Arten von Geräuschen können für die Lautsprecher schädlich sein. Die Ab-scheidefrequenz beträgt 18 Hz. Wird der Vorverstärker PS-200C zusammen mit diesem Gerät verwender, ist dieser Filter unnötig, es sei denn, die empfangenen Signale sind sehr schwach. Wird ein anderer Vorverstärker verwendet, besonders ein Vorverstärker niedrigeren Grades, sollte dieser Filter unbedingt verwendet werden, damit kein Gleichstrom eindringen und die Lautsprecher beschädigen kann.

- OPERATING PRECAUTIONS The power cord of the PS-200M is connected to an AC outlet of no less than 1 kW current capacity. Speakers of 4 to 16 ohm impedance are used. Speaker connection cables meet the requirement (See page 3, No. 8). Nothing is blocking the ventilator. The input level matches the output level of the pre-amplifier. Normally, the INPUT LEVEL CONTROLS shold be set to MAX. With high powered DC amplifiers the effect of noise is great and this will ruin the speakers. To avoid this, before switching the power on, set the volume of the pre-amplifier to minimum and depress the subsonic filter.
- OPERATION 1. Turn on the POWER SWITCH of the PS-200M. 2. Turn on the power switches of the preamplifier and other source components (tape deck, tuner, turntable, etc.) 3. Adjust pre-amplifier controls.

- PREC. TIONS D'EMPLOI Le cordon secteur du PS-200M est connecté à une prise de courant alternatif de capacité de courant supérieure ou égale à 1 kW. Utilisation de haut-parleurs de 4 à 16 ohms d'impédance. Les câbles de connexion des haut-parleurs satisfont les conditions (se référe à la page 3, No. 8). Le ventilateur n'est pas obstrué. Le niveau d'entrée correspond au niveau de sortie du préamplificateur. Les commandes de niveau d'entrée doivent normalement être réglées sur la position MAX. L'effet de bruit est important avec les amplificateurs sur courant continu de grande puissance, ce qui a pour effet de détruire les haut-parleurs. Pour éviter cela, avant de mettre le courant, régler la puissance sonore du pré-amplificateur sur sa position minimum, puis ensuite appuyer sur le bouton du filtre infra-acoustique.

- VORSICHTSREGELN FÜR DIE BEDIENUNG Das Anschlußkabel des PS-200M muß an ein Wechselstrommetz angeschlossen sein, das eine Strombelastbelastbarkeit von mindestens 1 kW hat. Die benutzten Lautsprecher müssen eine Impedanz von 4 bis 16 Ohm haben. Die Verbindungskabel für die Lautsprecher müssen den Anforderungen entsprechen. (Siehe Seite 3, Nr. 8). Der Lüngter darf druch nichts blockiert sein. Der Eingangspegel muß dem Ausgangspegel des Vorverstärkers entsprechen. Normalerweise sollten die Steuerknöpfe für den Eingangspegel (INPUT LEVEL CONTROLS) auf MAX (Maximum) eingestellt sein. Bei Gleichstrom-Verstärkern mit hoher Leistung ist die Geräuschwirkung sehr stark und daher schädlich für die Geräuschwirkung sein stark und daher schädlich für die Lautsprecher. Um einen solchen Schadlen zu vermeiden, muß vor dem Einschalten des Gerätes die Volumenstärke des Vorverstärkes auf Minimum geschaltet und der Unterschaltfilter eingeschaltet werden.
BEDIENUNG
- BEDIENUNG 1. Den Verstärker PS-200M einschalten. 2. Den Vorverstärker und die anderen Quelleninstrumente (Tape Deck, Empfänger, Plattenspieler usw.) einschalten. 3. Die Steuerungen des Vorverstärkers einstellen.
