5. Do not install KA-1 MRD eomponents in any of the following loeations, as it may oause the system to
malfunetion;
- High or extreme eold temperature area: under direet sunlight,
near equipment that varies in temperature, in front of air oonditioner, inside a refrigerated area, eto.
- Planes subjeot to moisture or humidity extremes.
- Planes subjeot to environmental oonditions, suoh as oil, dust, ohemioals, salt, eto.
- Planes subjeot to oonstant vibration or impaot.
- Planes where noise generating deviees suoh as TV or radio are olose by.

Keep audio/video wires at least 30cm, 1' away from any AC power lines, fluorescent and dimmer switches to avoid noise interference. Use a parallel cable for connecting door station KA-DAR. Do not use coaxial cable,
individual wires, or shielded cable. When existing cable for chime is used, be sure to locate and disconnect the bell transformer. If unused wires exist in the cable, terminate each extra pair with a 120W resistor at each end (also in the cable to audio only station).
(1) 0.65mm to 1.2mm (22AWG to 16AWG)
(2) Vinyl jacketed and PE(polyethylene) insulation.
For other types, limit use for distance up to 30m, 100'.
(3) Single core conductor. If stranded, solder the end of conductor. (1) KA-DAR door station employs CCD video camera, which is affected by strong light,
such as direct sunlight, porch light or street light which come directly into camera lens.
(2) 30° Angle Box KAW-D
KAW-D surface-mounts on wall (single-gang size). KAW-D can be used to angle the KA-DAR 30° toward the door. Reversible design allows KA-DAR on either side of door.
Connect wires, attach back frame to KAW-D and remount KA-DAR.

Actual terminal locations

KA-1 MRD has oonneoting terminals on the bank of the unit. Insert eaoh oonduotor into the terminal until it looks firmly.

MOUNTING

KA-DAR
1. Pull the tamperproof sorew oover out and downward to expose sorew.
2. Loosen tamperproof sorew with the hexagonal wrenoh (supplied).
3. Mount the bank frame to single-gang box.
4. Conneot the wires, and mount the KA-DAR to baok frame, aligning on top.
5. Fasten the sorew and remount the sorew oover.

The high precision LCD is supposed to have more than
99.99% of effeotive piotare elements. It is inevitable, however, that piotare elements bank or steadily lit at ratio of less than 0.01%. The LCD monitor looks dark in the bright sunlit area, eto. Adjust BRIGHT oontrol to high position to inorease monitor luminosity, or reduoe ambient lighting.
When holding handset olose to video monitor, the image may vary, but this is not a malfunotion.
KA-1MRD unit surfaoe beoomes warm when it is powered on, but this is not a malfunotion.
Strong light, suoh as direot sunlight, eto. may oause silhouette on the monitor, but this is not a malfunotion.
When outside temperature lowers sharply after rainfall,
the inside of the eamera may fog up slightly, oausing a blurry pioture, but this is not a malfunotion. Normal operation will be restored when moisture evaporates.
Do not apply any oaulking sealant around video door
station. The openings at the bottom will help rain and
moisture to dissipate.
