CCTV Interface Module for GT Multi-Unit Video Entry System
- INSTRUCTIONS -
The GT-VAX is a video module that provides a connection for up to 2 external CCTV cameras for viewing
the area surrounding the GT entrance panel. When a visitor calls from the entrance station, the view from
the separate CCTV camera will be seen on the tenant's monitor station. The tenant has the option to switch
over to a second CCTV camera (if equipped). The GT-VAX module will be installed in the entrance panel,
but will not be seen.
ENTRANCE PANEL CONFIGURATION:
1. The GT-VAX module takes the place of the standard GT-VA module, and must be located in the entrance
panel.
2. A blank plate (GF-BP) is required to cover the GT-VAX, so it will be out of sight from the outside of the
panel.
3. The remote CCTV camera (powered locally) connects to the back of the GH-VAX module as shown
below. The camera location is intended to provide a wider view of the lobby or entry area, other than a
direct frontal view of the visitor.
4. Build the remainder of the GT entrance panel in the same manner as any other GT station, with the GTDA-L Audio Module connected directly with the GT-VAX, then all other modules connected as
designated in the GT Installation & Operation Manual.
5. Programming and operation of the GT entrance panel when using the GT-VAX CCTV interface module is
the same as a standard GT panel.

OPTIONAL CONFIGURATION (Stand-alone CCTV Adaptor):
1. GT-VAX can be used as a stand-alone CCTV adaptor if system capacity allows it. This station will count as
1 of the 16 entrance panels allowed in the system. No programming is required at this entrance.
2. Stand-alone camera panel should be comprised of (1) GT-VAX, (1) GF-BP, (1) GT-DA-L, (1) GT-DP, (1)
GF-2F. Either GF-2B (semi-flush) or GT-102HB (surface mount) should be used for mounting the
hardware.
3. The dip switches on the GT-DA-L associated with the GT-VAX must be set as a separate entrance panel
from any other entrance panel in the system. It is recommended that these dip switch settings be adjusted
with the power on the GT-BC and GT-VBC turned off. If the dip switch settings are changed with power
applied, you must recycle power to the GT-BC and GT-VBC prior to the changes taking affect.
Note: Dip switch 1 on the GT-DA-L must be on to enable the monitoring feature from the tenants.
Refer to GT instructions, Section 5-18.
4. Video image will come from the remotely located CCTV camera, and will be triggered on only when the
stand-alone panel is engaged. This occurs when a tenant cycles through the entrance stations by pressing
the KEY button (sequentially) when the system is in standby mode. (If a visitor calls from an entrance
station, tenant viewing will be cut off).

OPERATIONS:
1. Visitor comes to Entrance panel and calls tenant. (See standard operational instructions.)
2. Video image will come from the remotely located CCTV camera, and will be present on the tenant monitor
only when the entrance panel is engaged, or when a tenant selects that entry to be viewed. If full time
video is required from that camera, alternate connections are required.
3. Use the guard key on the tenant station to switch between cameras attached to the GT-VAX (if equipped).
Note: Monitor mode functionality (of a entry station or GT-VAX in stand-alone configuration) is of the lowest
overall priority and will be overridden by any other system communications or calling function.
