Sécurité générale

• Les éventuelles réparations ou interventions sur le sèche-linge ne peuvent être effectuées que par du personnel qualifié et lorsque l'appareil est débranché.

• Avant la mise en service, assurez-vous que les données électriques figurant sur la plaque signalétique de l'appareil correspondent au lieu d'installation.

• Ne mettez pas votre appareil en service si le câble d'alimentation, le bandeau de commande, le plan de travail ou le socle sont endommagés.

• Mettez l'appareil à l'arrêt et débranchez-le avant toute opération de nettoyage.

• Veillez à ne pas coincer le linge lors de la fermeture de la porte.

• Risque d'incendie: ne faites pas sécher dans votre appareil du linge qui a été taché ou imbibé d'huile végétale ou d'huile de cuisson.

• Risque d'incendie: si vous avez prétraité votre linge avec du détach- ant (spray ou liquide) avant lavage, effectuez un cycle de rinçage supplémentaire avant de le charger dans votre sèche linge.

• Ne tir ez jamais sur le câble d'alimentation pour débrancher l'appareil, mais saisissez-le au niveau de la prise.

• Ne vous appuyez pas sur la porte ouverte, l'appar eil pourrait basculer.

• N'aspergez pas le sèche-linge avec un jet d'eau.

• Si vous interrompez le cycle de séchage pour retirer du linge, le linge et le tambour peuvent être chauds.

• N'utilisez pas de prises multiples, raccords ou rallonges.

• Vérifiez régulièrement que le capot de la lampe d'éclairage est correctement vissé.

Sécurité des enfants

• En fonctionnement, surveillez et ne laissez pas jouer les enfants avec l'appareil.

• Tenez hors de portée les éléments d'emballage qui peuvent être dangereux pour les enfants.

• Les enfants en bas âge et les petits animaux domestiques peuvent se glisser dans le tambour du sèche linge. Contrôlez le tambour avant de mettre l'appareil en fonctionnement.

• Cet appareil a été conçu pour être utilisé par des adultes. Veillez donc à ce que les enfants n'y touchent pas ou qu'ils ne l'utilisent pas comme un jouet.

Utilisation

• Ne modifiez pas ou n'essayez pas de modifier les caractéristiques de cet appareil. Cela représenterait un danger pour vous.

• Votre appareil est destiné à un usage domestique. Ne l'utilisez pas à des fins commerciales ou industrielles ou pour d'autres buts que celui pour lequel il a été conçu.

• Ne séchez pas d'articles ayant été tr aités avec des pr oduits chimiques, tels que les produits utilisés pour le nettoyage à sec, car ils pourraient provoquer une explosion.

• Ne mettez pas des pièces de linge contenant de la mousse ou un matériau similaire dans le sèche linge.

• Ne mettez pas de pièces de linge très usées dans le sèche linge ni de pièces de linge contenant une garniture (par ex. des oreillers) dans le sèche linge.

• Les pièces constituées d'éléments rigides (par ex. des tapis de sol) peuvent recouvrir les fentes d'aération ! N'introduisez pas ce type de pièces dans le sèche linge. Ne chargez pas trop le sèche linge. Respectez la charge max. de 6 kg.

• Contrôlez qu'un briquet n'est pas resté dans une poche.

• Nettoyez les filtres après chaque utilisation. N'utilisez jamais l'appareil avec un filtre endommagé ou sans filtre. Cela pourrait pr ovoquer un incendie.

• Si votre appareil est installé en colonne (selon le modèle) : ne posez aucun objet sur le sèche linge. Ils pourraient tomber au cours du séchage.

• Débranchez toujours l'appareil après son utilisation..

• Tout le linge à sécher doit être essoré avant d'être introduit dans le tambour. Plus la vitesse d'essorage sera importante, plus courte sera la durée de séchage d'où économie d'énergie.

• Le linge amidonné laisse un dépôt d'amidon dans le tambour et ne doit dès lors pas être séché dans le sèche linge.

• L'utilisation de "lingettes" peut entraîner la formation d'un dépôt sur le filtre et ainsi l'obstruer.

Installation

• Avant de procéder au branchement de votre appareil, lisez attentivement les instructions figurant au chapitre "Raccordement électrique".

• Si l'installation électrique de votre habitation nécessite une modification pour le branchement de votre appareil, faites appel à un électricien qualifié.

• A la réception de l'appareil, déballez-le ou faites-le déballer immédiatement. Vérifiez son aspect général. Faites le éventuelles réserves par écrit sur le bon de livraison dont vous garderez un exemplaire.

• L'appareil ne doit pas être raccordé à l'aide d'un prolongateur ou d'une prise multiple (risque d'incendie). Vérifiez que la prise de terre est conforme aux règlements en vigueur.

• Lorsque le sèche-linge doit être porté, retir ez au préalable le cache du socle!

• N'installez pas votre appareil dans un local où il y a risque de gel.

• Cet appareil est lourd. Faites attention lors de son déplacement.

• Installez votre appareil de niveau et d'aplomb.

• En cas d'installation près d'une cuisinière à gaz, à charbon ou électrique, intercalez une plaque incombustible calorifuge entre le sèche linge et la cuisinière (dimensions: 85x57,5cm).

• Après l'installation, la prise de l'appareil doit demeurer accessible.

• Assur ez-vous, après avoir installé l'appareil, que celui-ci ne r epose pas sur le câble d'alimentation.

• Votre sèche-linge a été conçu pour évacuer la vapeur à l'air libre. L'appareil a son propre système d'aération qui ne doit être relié à aucun autre système d'aération servant à d'autres appareils.

• N'installez pas le sèche-linge dans un local abritant des équipements de chauffage dotés de fours au charbon et au pétrole ou des aérothermes au gaz reliés à une cheminée et où la dépression s'élève à 0,04mbar ou plus.

• Veillez à assurer une aération suffisante du local afin d'éviter toute formation de dépression.

• Le branchement à un raccordement fixe au réseau électrique ne doit être effectué que par un technicien qualifié.

• Le sèche-linge à évacuation aspire de l'air. Pour cette raison, maintenez propre l'environnement de l'appareil et ne rangez pas d'éléments combustibles pouvant être aspirés (p. ex. litière pour petits animaux, copeaux) devant celui-ci et n'installez pas votre appareil sur des revêtements de sol à poil long. Cela risque d'entraver la circulation de l'air aux fentes d'aération.

Protection de l'environnement

• Tous les matériaux marqués par le symbole sont recyclables. Déposez-les dans une déchetterie prévue à cet effet (renseignez-vous auprès des services de votre commune) pour qu'ils puissent être récupérés et recyclés.

• Les pièces en matière plastique sont identifiées par des abréviations normalisées

. - >PE< pour polyéthylène, par exemple films d'emballage

- >PS< pour polystyrène, par exemple coussins

- >POM< pour polyoxyméthylène, par exemple pinces en plastique

• Les parties en carton sont réalisées à partir de vieux papiers et sont destinées à la collecte de vieux papiers.

Si vous procédez à la mise à la casse de votre ancien appareil, mettez hors d'usage ce qui pourrait représenter un danger: coupez le câble d'alimentation au ras de l'appareil et neutralisez le dispositif de fermeture de porte.

Le symbole sur le produit ou son emballage indique que ce produit ne peut être traité comme déchet ménager. Il doit être remis au point de collecte dédié à cet effet (collecte et recyclage du matériel électrique et électronique). En procédant à la mise au rebut réglementaire de l'appareil, nous préservons l'environnement et notre sécurité, s'assurant ainsi que les déchets seront traités dans des conditions appropriées. Pour obtenir plus de détails sur le recyclage de ce pr oduit, veuillez pr endre contact avec les services de votre commune ou le magasin où vous avez effectué l'achat.

En cas d'anomalie de fonctionnement, reportez-vous à la rubrique "En cas d'anomalie de fonctionnement". Si malgré toutes les vérifications, une intervention s'avère nécessaire, le vendeur de votre appareil est le premier habilité à intervenir. A défaut (déménagement de votre part, fermeture du magasin où vous avez effectué l'achat...), veuillez consulter le Centre Contact Consommateurs qui vous communiquera alor s l'adresse d'un Service Après Vente.

En cas d'intervention sur votre appareil, exigez du Service Après Vente les Pièces de Rechange Certifiées Constructeur.

• Pendant le lavage, essayez de ne pas utiliser de produits assoupplissants !

Si le linge est séché en machine, il restera doux plus longtemps même sans utiliser de produits assouplissants.

• Aérez votre linge!

Aérez votre linge avant de le mettre dans le sèche linge afin de réduire

le temps de séchage et le froissement.

• Essorez correctement le linge avant de le faire sécher!

En règle générale, plus le linge est essoré, plus votre séchoir fonctionne de manière économique. Dans le tableau suivant sont fournies des indications sur la consommation selon la vitesse d'essorage. Les données se réfère à 6 kg de linge devant être séché.

• Veuillez respecter les spécifications concernant les charges pleines !

L'appareil fonctionne de manière plus économique s'il est complètement chargé, comme indiqué dans les tableaux.

• Sélectionnez le bon programmede séchage!

Sélectionnez le programme de séchage adapté au type et à la quantité de linge, de telle façon que votre sèche linge fonctionne de manière plus économique. Quelques valeurs de consommation:

1 Programmateur/Minuteur

Il vous permet de sélectionner un séchage électronique ou chronométrique. Tournez la manette sur le programme ou le temps désiré.

Le séchage à contrôle électronique (automatique)

L’appareil fonctionne avec ces programmes à l’aide de sondes qui testent le degré d’humidité du linge. Il vous suffit d’afficher le programme en fonction de la catégorie de linge et du degré de séchage désiré.

Le séchage chronométrique

A utiliser pour parfaire le séchage si nécessaire. Sélectionnez le programme 90 ou 60 minutes pour le linge en coton ou 30 minutes pour les synthétiques.

Pour annuler un programme en cours tournez le programmateur sur RESET. A la fin du séchage tournez-le sur RESET pour mettre l’appareil hors tension avant de sortir le linge.

2 Touche DEPART/PAUSE (START/PAUSE)

Appuyez sur cette touche pendant 1 seconde environ pour mettre le sèche-linge en fonctionnement après avoir sélectionné le programme et les options.

Le voyant correspondant arrête de clignoter et reste fixe. Si l’option

DEPART/DIFFERE a été choisie, le décompte commence. Si la porte de l’appareil est ouverte en cours de programme, cette

touche doit être enclenchée à nouveau après fermeture pour que

Cette touche doit être enclenchée aussi après une coupure de courant Le voyant au-dessus de la touche clignote pour vous rappeler que la touche départ doit être enclenchée à nouveau.

3 Touche DEPART DIFFERE (DELAY START)

Le départ différé vous permet de retarder le départ d’un programme de 3, 6 ou 9 heures (pour profiter éventuellement d’un tarif de nuit avantageux).

Il faut appuyer sur cette touche après avoir sélectionné le programme souhaité et avant d'appuyer sur la touche “départ/pause”.

En enclenchant cette touche le décompte commence. Si par exemple vous avez choisi l’option “9 heures” (voyant 9h allumé ), après 3 heures ce voyant s’éteint et le voyant “6 heures” s’allume. Au bout de 3 heures, il s’éteint et le voyant 3h s’allume. Lorsque celui-ci s’éteint, le programme commence.

Durant le décompte du départ différé il n’est pas possible de changer le programme sélectionné ou le départ différé. Si cela est nécessaire, tournez le programmateur sur “Arrêt”, sélectionnez le nouveau programme, le départ différé et appuyez sur la touche “départ/pause”

Par contre, si vous souhaitez changer les options sélectionnées, cela ne sera possible que si la nouvelle option est compatible avec le programme choisi. Mettez l’appareil en pause, enclenchez la(les) touche(s) option et appuyez à nouveau sur la touche “départ/pause”.

Si vous devez ouvrir la porte pour ajouter d’autre linge il faut tout d’abord mettre l’appareil en pause en enclenchant la touche correspondante. Appuyez de nouveau sur la touche “départ/pause” après fermeture de la porte pour que le décompte recommence.

4 Touche DÉLICAT (LOW TEMP.) L’enclenchement de cette touche permet d’effectuer un séchage à une température inférieure pour du linge délicat. Le voyant correspondant s’allume. Cette option est utilisable aussi dans le séchage chronométrique. Si la touche n’est pas enclenchée le chauffage s’effectuera à pleine puissance.

Cette fonction n’est pas compatible avec l’option COURT.

5 Touche COURT (QUICK)

En appuyant sur cette touche on obtient une réduction de la durée des programmes “COTON” “TRES SEC“, “SEC“ et “A RANGER“. Le voyant correspondant s’allume.

Cette fonction n’est pas compatible avec l’option DELICAT.

6 Touche ALARME (BUZZER)

Des signaux sonores retentissent

• lors de la sélection du programme et l’enclenchement des touches;

• en cas de sélection erronée des options;

• si l’on essaie de changer le programme ou les options en cours de programme

• à la fin du programme;

• en cas d’anomalie de fonctionnement;

• lorsque la porte est ouverte. Enclenchez cette touche lors de la programmation si vous souhaitez supprimer l’alarme Le voyant correspondant s’allume.

7 VOYANTS DÉROULEMENT PROGRAMME

Ces voyants vous indiquent les différentes phases du programme que l’appareil est en train d’effectuer et vous rappellent des opérations d’entretien:

• Voyant de SECHAGE (DRYING) Ce voyant indique que l’appareil est en phase de séchage.

• Voyant REFROID (COOLING). (Refroidissement) Ce voyant indique que l’appareil est en phase de refroidissement. En fin de séchage, une phase de refroidissement de 10 minutes est prévue pour éviter le froissement du linge.

• Voyant FIN (END) de programme. Il est allumé pendant la phase anti-froissage et reste allumé à la fin du programme.

• Voyant FILTRE (FILTER) Il s’ allume à la fin du programme pour vous rappeler que les filtres doivent être nettoyés.

Utilisation rapide

• Ouvrez le linge autant que possible.

• Triez le linge.

• Mettez le linge dans le sèche linge.

• Sélectionnez le programme/temps de séchage.

• Si nécessaire, appuyez sur la touche DELICAT et/ou ALARME et/ou COURT (Cette fonction n’est pas compatible avec l’option DELICAT) et/ou DEPART DIFFERE.

• Démarrez le programme en appuyant sur la touche DEPART/PAUSE. Lorsque le programme est en cours, la porte peut être ouverte pour

retirer le linge ou en ajouter.

Á la fin du programme:

• Mettez á l’arrêt le sèche linge.

• Retirez le linge.

• Nettoyez les filtres.

Pour sécher votre linge

Avant la première utilisation

Avant la première utilisation de votre sèche linge, faites-le fonctionner pendant 30 minutes environ en chargeant le tambour de quelques chiffons humides (essorés), ceci afin d'éliminer d'éventuelles traces de poussières ou de graisses.

Préparez le linge

• Fermez les fermetures éclair, boutonnez les taies d'oreillers et les housses de couettes; nouez les rubans lâches, telles que les ficelles de tabliers.

• Videz les poches.

• Enlevez toutes les pièces métalliques (trombones, goupilles de sécu-

rité, etc ....).

• Retournez vers l'intérieur les vêtements faits de deux couches de tissus (par exemple retournez les anoraks avec une doublure en coton), ils sécheront mieux.

• Ouvrez votre linge.

Ouvrez la porte

• Ouvrez la porte en appuyant sur le point de pression marqué sur la porte (voir croquis).

Introduisez le linge

Attention! Prenez le précaution de ne pas pincer de linge lors la fermeture de la porte. Le linge pourrait être endommagé.

• Introduisez le linge préparé, essoré et ouvert dans le sèche linge.

A l’aide du programmateur, sélectionnez le programme de séchage adéquat (voir ”Tableau des programmes)

• Les voyants SECHAGE, REFROID., FIN (correspondant aux phases composant le programme) s’allument.

Appuyez sur la touche ALARME et/ou DELICAT et/ou COURT, si vous devez faire sécher des éléments particulièrement délicats.

Le programme réglé est exécuté avec une puissance de chauffe moindre.

Sélectionnez éventuellement l’option DEPART DIFFERE. Avant de faire démarrer le programme, si vous souhaitez en retarder le

départ, appuyez sur la touche DEPART DIFFERE pour sélectionner le nombre d’heures au bout desquelles vous souhaitez que le progr amme démarre. Le voyant correspondant s’allume.

Démarrez le programme de séchage

Démarrez le programme en appuyant sur la touche DEPART/PAUSE: le voyant correspondant arrête de clignoter et seul le voyant de la phase en cours reste allumé. Si le départ différé a été sélectionné, le décompte en heures commence. Aucune modification au programme ou au départ différé ne peut être faite après le départ. Si le programmateur est tourné sur une autre position au cour s du programme, les voyants des phases clignotent et un signal acoustique retentit. Durant le séchage le tambour tourne alternativement dans les deux directions. Tous les programmes de séchage se terminent par une phase de refroidissement de 10 minutes (le voyant REFROID. est allumé). Le linge peut être retiré à la fin de cette phase lorsque les voyants FINet FILTRE sont allumés.

Retirez ou ajoutez du linge

Il est possible d'interrompre le cycle à tout moment pour retirer ou ajouter du linge.

Ouvrez la porte.

Attention! Le linge et le tambour peuvent être chauds.

Retirez ou ajoutez du linge.

Fermez la porte et appuyez sur la touche DEPART/PAUSE pour continuer le cycle de séchage.

Fin de programme

Une phase de refroidissement est effectuée avant la fin du cycle de séchage : la chaleur est réduite pendant cette phase. Après la phase de refroidissement, il est possible de retirer le linge du séche linge. Le programme de séchage est suivi automatiquement par une phase anti-froissage (durée: 30 minutes maximum). La tambour tourne à intervalles réguliers afin que votre linge demeure aéré, moelleux et sans froissage. Si vous n’intervenez pas durant cette phase, le sèche-linge s’arrête automatiquement à la fin de la phase anti-froissage. Des signaux acoustiques retentissent pendant 2 minutes (si la touche n’a pas été enclenchée). Les voyants FIN et FILTRE restent allumés.

Après chaque utilisation

Tournez le programmateur sur RESET, tous les voyants s’éteignent.

Si vous ouvrez et puis fermez la porte avant de tourner le programmateur sur RESET, les voyants correspondant aux phases du programme qui vient d’être achevé s’allument et l’appareil est prêt à recommencer le même programme.

Ouvrez la porte et sortez le linge.

Nettoyez les filtres

Pour assurer la libre circulation de l'air pendant le cycle de séchage, les filtres doivent être nettoyés après chaque cycle de séchage, avant de retirer le linge (voir page 22).

Réglage de la conductibilité

L’eau, selon les zones géographiques, contient en quantité variable des sels calcaires et minéraux qui changent la valeur de la conductibilité.

Des variations importantes de la conductibilité, par rapport aux valeurs affichées par l’usine, pourraient légèrement influeucer l’humidité résiduelle à la fin du séchage.

Votre séche-linge permet de régler la sensibilité du capteur conductimétrique sur la base de la valeur de la conductibilité de l’eau au moyen de la procédure suivante:

Pour accéder à la modalité de réglage:

Mettez l’appareil sous tension en tournant le sélecteur. Dans la modalité de sélection, appuyez en même temps sur les touches 2 et 4.

Maintenez appuyées les touches jusqu’à ce que les voyants situés au-dessus des touches clignotent et qu’un de ces voyants «fin»

«refroidissement»et

«séchage» s’allument.

Pour modifier la valeur de conductibilité:

Appuyez en séquence sur la touche «depart/pause»: le degré de conductibilité est signalé par l’allumage des voyants de phase dans différentes combinaisons.

Normalement, l’appareil est réglé à l’usine sur le niveau le plus haut; certains modèles pourraient cependant être configurés de façon différente.

Pour mémoriser le réglage:

Pressez les touches 2 et 4 ensemble jusqu'a ce que le minutage du cycle de séchage précédent réapparaisse et que le signal sonore retentisse.

• DRYFRESH(RAFRAICHIR) Ce programme peut être utilisé à toutes autres fins que le

séchage du linge: pour éliminer une odeur trop prononcée, antimites par exemple, ou par rafraîchir le linge.

Séchage chronométrique

Guide de séchage

• Ne surchargez pas le tambour de votre sèche-linge (6 kg de linge de coton sec ou

3 kg de linge synthétique sec max.). Pour les articles particulièrement fragiles, il est recommandé de réduire encore la charge. Une surcharge du tambour prolongerait anormalement le temps de séchage et pourrait être cause du froissement du linge.

Nous vous donnons à titre indicatif les poids moyens des pièces les plus communes:

- les lainages, les soieries et les voilages, les articles en chlorofibres (Thermolactyl etc....).

- les articles ayant été précédemment nettoyés avec des produits inflammables

- les tissus ayant tendance à s’effilocher.

• Conformez-vous scrupuleusement aux étiquettes d’entretien de votre linge et

assurez-vous que l’article peut être séché en machine.

gorie de linge selon son épaisseur, par exemple séchez séparément les tissus-éponges.

• Séchez un par un les articles tels que housses de couette, draps, draps housse afin

d’éviter qu’ils ne s’enroulent et forment des noeuds.

• Retournez sur l’envers les articles molletonnés et pelucheux, ainsi que les poches

de pantalon afin d’éviter les épaisseurs longues à sécher.

• Tout le linge à sécher doit être essoré avant de procéder au séchage.

• Evitez de sécher le linge trop longtemps: vous économiserez de l’énergie et évite-

rez également la formation de faux plis dans le linge.

• L’adjonction d’assouplissant au dernier rinçage (en lave-linge) permet de réduire

l’électricité statique sur le linge.

• Choisissez, pour les tissus en coton épais, un degrée de séchage qui rend le linge

prêt au repassage (c’est-à-dire imprégné de l’humidité que requiert un repassage immédiat). Si le repassage ne peut pas se faire immédiatement, enroulez le linge pour obtenir un degré d’humidité uniforme.

• Les articles tissés ont tendance à rétrécir. Un séchage excessif renforce cet effet. Il

faut, par conséquent, sélectionner un séchage court pour ces textiles. Nous vous recommandons de tenir compte des possibilités de rétrécissement de ces textiles lors de nouvelles acquisitions.

• Si le linge devait être encore humide à la fin du séchage, affichez un temps sup-

plémentaire d’au moins 30 minutes.

• Nous vous déconseillons d’ouvrir le hublot en cours de séchage pour contrôler le

degré d’humidité de votre linge. En effet, les articles sont chauds et donnent au contact une impression d’humidité, même si le linge est sec. Il est préférable d’attendre la fin du cycle de séchage et le refroidissement du linge avant d’ouvrir le hublot. Prolongez alors l’opération de séchage si nécessaire.

Entretien et nettoyage

N’utilisez jamais de produits abrasifs ou caustiques pour le nettoyage de votre appareil.

Débranchez l'appareil avant toute opération d'entretien.

Nettoyage de la porte

Nettoyez périodiquement l’intérieur de la porte pour enlever d’éventuelles peluches des joints autour du filtre. Un nettoyage soigneux est indispensable pour un séchage correct.

Nettoyage des filtres

Situés à l’intérieur de la porte et dans l’ouverture du hublot, les filtres doivent être nettoyés après chaque utilisation à l’aide d’un chiffon humide avant de sortir le linge. Le voyant correspondant s’allume sur le bandeau de commandes pour vous rappeler cette opération d’entretien. Le filtre à l’intérieur de la porte doit être enlevé pour pouvoir le nettoyer. A cet effet, tirez sur la poignée vers le haut.

La quantité de peluches recueillies ne doit pas vous inquiéter, elle est due à une usure normale du linge et non à un mauvais fonctionnement de l’appareil.

Un frottement des fibres et du tissu se produit pendant l’utilisation et le lavage du linge provoquant une formation de peluches. Si le séchage du

linge est effectué sur un séchoir ou un fil ces peluches s’envolent, tandis qu’à l’intérieur du sèche-linge elles s’accumulent et se gonflent fortement sous l’action du séchage. Si une légère couche blanchâtre due aux résidus de lessive dans le linge, se forme sur les filtres, ceux-ci doivent être nettoyés à l’eau chaude à l’aide d’une brosse. En ce cas, enlevez aussi le filtre situé dans l’ouverture du hublot comme indiqué dans le croquis. Il peut être remis en place la languette tournée à gauche ou à droite.

N’utilisez jamais votre sèche linge sans filtres.

Enlevez le sachet en polyéthylène avec le rembourrage en polystyrène avant d'utiliser l'appareil pour la première fois. Enlevez le ruban adhésif de la partie supérieure à l'intérieur du tambour.

Emplacement

N'installez pas l'appareil dans un endroit où·sont placés ou stockés des produits inflammables ou des produits pouvant créer des vapeurs inflammables. Il y a un risque d'explosion, d'incendie.

Votre appareil doit être installé dans un local aéré afin de permettre l'évacuation de l'air humide dégagé de l'appareil pendant son fonctionnement. Vous devez prévoir la libre circulation de l'air autour de la grille d'aspiration située à l'arrière de l'appareil.

Un excès de condensation dans la pièce prolonge le temps de séchage et, par conséquent, la consommation d'énergie. L'aération de la pièce peut être obtenue par l'ouverture d'une fenêtre ou par l'adaptation d'un raccordement sur l'extérieur.

Pendant le fonctionnement du sèche-linge, la température ambiante ne doit pas être inférieure à +5°C ou supérieure à +35°C pour ne pas compromettre le bon fonctionnement de l’appareil.

Evacuation de l'air

L'évacuation de l'air humide peut s'effectuer par l'arrière ou par les côtés de l'appareil. Les orifices d'évacuation non utilisés doivent être obstrués à l'aide des caches four-

nis avec l'appareil.

Le raccordement sur l'extérieur

Ce mode d'évacuation de l'air humide est possible en raccordant le tuyau flexible de 100 mm de diamètre, livré avec l'appareil, sur la sortie choisie.

Pour relier le tuyau à l'appareil il faut appliquer d'abord à une extrémité du tuyau le raccord en plastique "A" se trouvant sur l'orifice arrière et ensuite introduire le tuyau dans l'orifice d'évacuation choisi.

Si votre appareil est placé dans un local très froid, percez un trou au point B de 3 mm et déposez un récipient plat dessous pour y récupérer l'eau de condensation.

Vous avez également la possibilité d'orienter l'extrémité du tuyau vers le bas afin d'empêcher l'eau et le vent d'entrer.

IImmppoorrttaanntt::

Il est possible que vous constatiez des anomalies de fonctionnement si le local est équipé d'une V.M.C. (ventilation mécanique contrôlée). Si le temps de séchage est anormalement long, débranchez la VMC ou fermez l'orifice d'aspiration.

Si le sèche-linge est installé à côté de meubles de cuisine, vérifiez que le tuyau d'évacuation n'est pas écrasé. Si le tuyau est partiellement écrasé, l'efficacité de séchage sera réduite, avec une augmentation conséquente des temps de séchage et de consommation d’électricité.

Si le tuyau est complètement écrasé, les dispositifs de sécurité dont la machine est dotée pourraient se déclencher. Dans ce cas adressez-vous au Service Après-Vente.

Le câble d’alimentation doit être facilement accessible après l’installation de l’appareil.

Installation en colonne

Ce sèche linge peut être installé en colonne sur certains lave linge de notre marque à chargement frontal. La fixation de ces deux appareils s'effectue à l'aide d'un kit de superposition (en option) que vous pourrez vous procurer auprès de votre magasin vendeur. Safety instructions

It is most important that this instruction book should be retained with the appliance for future reference. Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is supplied with the appliance in order that the new owner can get to know the functioning of the appliance and the relevant warnings. The safety of AEG appliances complies with the industry standards and with legal requirements on the safety of appliances. However, as manufacturers, we feel it is our duty to provide the following safety notes. You MUST read them carefully before installing or using the appliance.

General safety

• Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the machine yourself. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunctioning. Contact your local Service Force Centre or your AEG dealer . . Always insist on genuine AEG spare parts.

• Before starting the appliance check that the rated voltage and the type of current indicated on the rating plate correspond to those which exist where the dryer is installed. The type of fuse is also indicated on the rating plate.

• Never start the appliance if the electrical supply cable is damaged or the control panel or worktop are so damaged that inner components can be reached.

• Risk of fir e: items that have been spotted or soaked with vegetable or cooking oil constitute a fire hazard and should not be placed in the tumble dryer

• If you have washed your laundry with stain remover you must execute an extra rinse cycle before loading your tumble dryer.

• Unplug the appliance before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operations.

• Never pull the power supply cable to remove the plug from the socket; always take hold of the plug itself.

• Do not lean on the open door, the appliance could turn over.

• Never spr ay the machine with a jet of water. Danger of electric shock!

• If the drying programme is interrupted in order to remove the laundry: the laundry and the drum could be very hot.

Child safety

• Children are often not aware of how dangerous electrical appliances can be. When the machine is working, they should be carefully supervised and not be allowed to play with the appliance - there is a risk that they could become trapped inside.

• The packaging components (e.g. plastic film, polystyr ene) can be dangerous to children - danger of suffocation! Keep them out of children’s reach.

• Make sure that children or pets do not climb into the drum.

Positioning and connection

• Follow the separate instructions for positioning and connection.

• Check that the appliance has not been damaged during transport. Never connect a damaged appliance! If this is the case, contact your dealer.

• The dryer must not be installed in a room where the temperature can fall below zero or is higher than + 35°C.

• The dryer must be levelled.

• The dryer must not be positioned on a thick pile carpet as this would prevent air from circulating freely through the ventilation slots.

• If the appliance is installed near a gas, coal or electric heater, an insulating non-inflammable panel must be inserted between the dryer and the heater (size: 85x57.5 cm).

• The plug of the dryer must always be accessible.

• The dryer’ s exhaust must not be fed into a cooker hood, or a chimney or flue pipe designed to carry the exhaust from a fuel burning appliance.

• Ensure the room is well ventilated.

• A permanent connection to the mains power supply can only be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Proper use

• For safety reasons, the appliance must not be modified.

• This appliance is designed for domestic use only. If the dryer is used for any other purposes or is not used correctly, the manufacturer accepts no responsibility for any possible damage that might occur.

• Dry only items that have been washed with water. Never dry items that have been in contact with inflammable solvents (petrol, methylated spirits, dry cleaning fluid and the like). These are of a volatile nature and could cause an explosion or a fire.

• Items containing rubber foam or materials similar to rubber foam must not be dried in the appliance. Fire danger!

General instructions

• Starched fabrics leave traces of starch in the drum, therefore they should not be dried in the appliance.

• If the load to be dried exceeds the maximum weight indicated, creasing may occur. For particularly delicate fabrics, the maximum load should not exceed 1.5 kg.

• For your information: 70 per cent of fabric wear is caused by wearing the garments, 20 percent by washing and only 10 per cent by drying them in a tumble dryer. In your appliance, fluff accumulates in the filter. Only 0.03g fluff per Kilo will be lost by your laundry when being machine dried.

Packaging materials Dispose of your tumble dryer’s packaging materials correctly. All materials are

environmentally friendly and can be disposed of without any danger . The plastic parts can be reused:

• The external plastic cover and the bags inside are made of polyethylene (>PE<).

• The padding is made of CFC free polystyrene foam (>PS<=).

Cartons are made of recycled paper and should be disposed of in paper collection containers.

Appliance Warning! When the appliance is disposed of, pull the plug out of the

socket, cut off the electrical supply cable and destroy the plug with the remaining cable. Disable the door catch in order to prevent children from becoming trapped inside while playing.

Use an authorised disposal site for your old appliance. The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. For more detailed information about recycling of this product, please contact your local city office, your household waste disposal service or the shop where you purchased the product.

Tips for environmental protection

• During washing, try not to use fabric softeners! If the laundry is machine dried, it will remain soft even without using fabric softeners.

• Shake out your laundry! Shake out the laundry before putting it into the dryer in order to reduce the drying time and creasing.

• Spin the laundry properly before drying it! As a general rule, the more the laundry is spun, the more economically your dryer works. In the following table, indications on consumption are provided, according to the spin speed. The data refers to 6 kg of laundry that have to be store dried.

• Please observe the full load specifications! The machine works more economically if it is fully loaded, as indicated in the programme charts.

• Select the correct drying programme! Select the drying programme suited to the type and quantity of laundry, so that your dryer will work more economically. Some consumption values:

1 Programme/Time Selector Dial

Allows you to select electronically controlled or time controlled drying. Turn the dial to the required programme or time.

Sensor Dry

The appliance runs these programmes with the help of probes which detect the degree of dampness of the laundry. Simply select the programme according to the type of laundry and degree of drying required.

Time controlled drying

This can be used to finish off drying if necessary. Select the 90 or 60 minute programme for cottons or the 30 minute programme for synthetics.

To cancel a programme which is running, turn the programme selector dial to RESET.

At the end of drying, turn the selector dial to RESET to switch the machine off before removing the laundry.

2 START/PAUSE button

Press this button to start the dryer after having selected the programme and the options.

The relevant light will stop flashing. If you have chosen a DELAY START. delayed start, the machine will begin the countdown.

If the door of the appliance or the small door at the bottom is opened while the programme is running, this button must be pressed again after closing the door in order to restart the pro-

gramme from the point at which it was interrupted. This button must also be depressed after a power failure.

In both cases the light of the START/PAUSE button flashes to remind you that the start button needs to be pressed again.

3 DELAYED START button

This button allows you to delay the starting of the programme by 3, 6 or 9 hours.

Press the button until the light relevant to the desired delay lights up. This option must be selected after having selected the programme

and before pressing START/PAUSE to start the programme. The machine begins the countdown, which is shown by the pilot

lights. For example, if you have chosen a 9-hour delay (pilot light 9h lit), after 3 hours, 9h goes out and 6h lights up; after 3 more hours, 6h goes out and 3h lights up. When the 9 hours are over (pilot light 3h off), the drying cycle begins.

During the delayed start period, it is not possible to change the programme or the selected delay . If you wish to do so, you must first cancel everything by rotating the programme selector dial to position “0”. Select the new programme, the options and the delayed start, then press START/PAUSE.

If you wish to change only the options, this can be done on condition that the new option(s) is(are) compatible with the programme. Set the machine to PAUSE by depressing the relevant button, select the new option(s) and depress START/PAUSE button again.

If you wish to add some laundry while the machine is performing the countdown, after having done so and having closed the door, press START/PAUSE again, in order to allow the machine to complete the remaining countdown time.

4 LOW TEMP. button

Pressing this button allows drying to be performed at a lower temperature, for delicate items. The corresponding pilot light comes on. This option can also be used for time controlled drying. This option cannot be selected with QUICK.

5 QUICK button

By depressing this button the drying time is reduced in the following cotton programmes:

The corresponding pilot light comes on. This option cannot be selected with LOW TEMP. function.

6 BUZZER button

A buzzer sounds

• when selecting the programme

• when depressing the buttons

• when an incorrect option selection is made

• when the programme selector dial is turned to another position during the programme or when you depress an option button during the cycle

• at the end of the programme and during the anticrease phase

• if the machine is not working correctly By depressing the button the acoustic signal is switched on.

7 INDICATOR LIGHTS

These lights indicate the following functions:

• DRYING light. This light indicates that the appliance is in the drying phase.

• COOLING light. This light indicates that the appliance is in the cooling phase. At the end of drying, there is a 10 minute cooling phase to cool the laundry.

• END light. This light is on at the end of the cooling phase, during the anticreasing phase and at the end of the programme.

• FILTER light. This light illuminates at the end of the programme to remind you that the filters must be cleaned.

Brief operating instructions

• Spin the laundry as much as possible.

• Sort out the laundry.

• Put the laundry into the tumble dryer.

• Switch the machine on by selecting the drying programme/time.

• If necessary, press the BUZZER and/or QUICK and/or LOW TEMP. (This option cannot be selected with QUICK function) and/or DELAY START button.

• Press the START/PAUSE for about 2 seconds to start the dryer. When the programme is in progress, the door can be opened in order

to remove laundry or to add other items.

At the end of the programme:

• Switch off the tumble dryer.

• Remove the laundry.

• Clean the fluff filters.

Drying

Before the first drying cycle

Before using your tumble dryer for the first time, we recommend to place a few damp cloths inside the appliance and dry for 30 minutes. There may be dust inside a brand new tumble dryer.

Sort out the laundry

• T o prevent bundling of laundry: close zips, button up pillow cases and duvet covers; tie any strings, such as apron strings.

• Empty pockets.

• Remove any metal parts (paper clips, safety pins, etc. ....).

• Turn garments made of double layer fabrics inside out (e. g. turn anoraks with cotton lining inside out), so that they will dry better.

• Shake out the laundry.

Open the door

• Open the door by presing on the left side as per picture

Load the laundry

Warning! When closing the door, do not trap any garments! The fabrics could get damaged. Please check the laundry does not get caught between the door and filter.

• Put the prepared and shaken out laundry into the dryer.

Switch the machine on - select the drying programme/time

• Select the drying programme or time. The lights DRYING, COOLING and END come on. The light of the START/PAUSE button flashes and the display shows the duration of the programme.

If required, press the LOW TEMP. button and/or the BUZZER button or the QUICK button. Select the DELAY START if required.

Start the machine

Press the START/PAUSE button: the corresponding light stops flashing and drying starts. Only the DRYING light stays lit. If you have selected the DELAY START, the machine begins its countdown. The drum turns alternately in both directions during drying. All drying programmes end with a 10 minute cooling phase (light COOLING is on). The END and FILTER lights illuminate. The display shows a static zero and the buzzer sounds to indicate the end of the cycle. You may remove the laundry after this phase.

Remove or add laundry

It is possible to interrupt the drying cycle at any time in order to remove or add laundry.

Open the door.

Caution! Laundry and drum can be hot.

Remove or add laundry.

Close the door and press START/PAUSE button to continue the drying cycle.

End of drying cycle

If the laundry is not removed at the end of the cycle, the dryer performs an anti-creasing phase (duration: 30 minutes maximum). If you do not remove the laundry, the dryer will stop automatically at the end of the anti-creasing phase. The END and FILTER lights remain lit and the buzzer sounds for 2 minutes. The light of the START/PAUSE button goes off and a flashing zero appears on the display.

Switch the tumble dryer off

Turn the programme selector dial to RESET; all the lights go out. The appliance is switched off.

Remove the laundry.

If you open and then close the door before turning the programme selector dial to RESET, all the lights corresponding to the phases making up the performed programme come on and the display shows the duration of the programme.

Important! If the drying programme has to be stopped before it reaches the

end, we recommend that you turn the programme selector dial to position COOLING and wait until the end of this phase before removing the laundry. This will avoid a build-up of heat inside the appliance. To do this first turn the dial to RESET and then to COOLING and depress START/PAUSE button.

Clean the filters

To ensure free circulation of air during the drying cycle, the fluff filters must be cleaned after each drying cycle, before removing the laundry.

Adjusting the level of conductivity

Water contains, a variable quantity of limestone and mineral salts of which quantities vary according to geographical locations thus varying its conductivity values.

Relevant variations of the conductivity of the water compared to those prefixed by the factory could slightly influence the residual humidity of the laundry at the end of the cycle.

Your dryer allows you to regulate the sensitivity of the drying sensor based on conductivity values of the water by using the following procedure.

Procedure:

Turn the programme selector dial to switch on the appliance In selection mode press simultaneously the buttons 2 and 4.

Adjusting the level of conductivity:

Press the button 5 sequentially: the level of conductivity is indicated by the lighting of the horizontal hyphens.

Normally, the appliance is factory-set to the highest level; however, certain models may be configured differently.

Memorizing the new setting:

Simultaneously press down the buttons 2 and 4 until the previous drying cycle time appears again on the display and the buzzer sounds.

Hints & Tips on Drying

Care symbols

Before placing articles of laundry in your tumble dryer, check the care labels to ensure they are recommended for tumble drying.

Basically, this fabric can be tumble dried; however the manufactur er does not specify whether it can be dried with normal or low temperature.

If none of these symbols is found: Dry cottons, as well as mixed fabrics, at normal temperature. Press the

“LOW TEMP.” button when delicate cottons have to be dried. It is advisable to take into consideration the care symbols on garment labels when buying them.

• Wool, eiderdowns Do not dry any woollen items in the tumble dryer! They can felt! Eiderdowns can be tumble dried only if the corresponding care symbol is present.

• Fabrics sensitive to high temperatures Dry fabrics sensitive to high temperatures (such as acrylic or viscose) and items bearing the care symbol using a synthetic drying programmes.

• Tricot garments, knitwear Tricot garments and knitwear tend to shrink. Do not overdry these items. High quality products are less likely to

shrink.

• New coloured fabrics Do not dry new coloured fabrics with light-coloured laundry. This could lead to discoloration!

Cleaning and care

Warning! You must disconnect the appliance from the electricity supply, before you can carry out any cleaning or maintenance work.

External cleaning

Use only soap and water and then dry thoroughly.

Important: do not use methylated spirit, dilutents or similar products.

Cleaning the door

Clean periodically the interior part of the door to remove any fluff from the seals around the filter.

Regular cleaning ensures correct drying.

Cleaning the filters

Your dryer will only function well if the filters are clean. The filters collect all the fluff which accumulates during drying and they must therefore be cleaned at the end of each programme, before removing the laundry, with a damp cloth. The filter in the inner door must be removed for cleaning.

Do not be alarmed by the amount of fluff. It is not due to excessive wear caused by the dryer. All fabric looses fluff when drying but it

goes un-noticed in the air. In a tumble dryer it simply collects in the filter.

If necessary the filters can be cleaned under running water using a brush. In this case, remove the filter in the door opening as per picture (it can be positioned with the tongue facing to the left or to the right).

Cleaning the drum

Warning! Do not clean the stainless steel drum with abrasive detergent or steel wool.

Wipe the inside of the drum and the drum paddles with a standard household detergent (e.g. vinegar solution).

Warning! Do not use household furniture polish or abrasive detergents. Wipe the panel and the controls with a damp cloth only . Use only warm

This machine is designed to operate on a 230/240 V, singlephase, 60 Hz supply. Check that your domestic electrical installation can take the maximum load required (2.65 kW), also taking into account any other appliances in use.

Positioning

It is recommended that, for your convenience, the machine is positioned close to your washing machine. Whilst drying, the tumble dryer will expel a certain amount of warm, very moist air, and this should be removed from the room as quickly as possible to prevent condensation. In an extremely well ventilated room or close to an open window, this may occur naturally.

However, in general, it is better to carry the dryer's exhaust outside via the 100 mm diameter flexible hose supplied with the appliance; ending either temporarily at an open window, or permanently at a fixed ventilation grille, fitted to an exterior wall or window.

The tumble dryer must be installed in a clean place, where dirt does not build up. Make sure there are no obstructing items or material near the air-intake louvres provided at the back (e.g. paper, rags etc.).

To keep vibration and noise to a minimum when the dryer is in use, it should be placed on a firm, level surface.

Once in its permanent operating position, check that the dryer is absolutely level with the aid of a spirit level. If it is not, raise or lower the feet until it is.

The feet must never be removed. Do not restrict the floor clearance through deeppile carpets, strips of wood or similar. This might cause heat build-up which would interfere with the operation of the appliance.

Important

When operating the tumble dryer, the room temperature must not exceed 35°C, as it may affect the performance of the appliance.

Installation

Fitting the vent hose

To simplify the installation, there is a choice of vent outlets: one at the back, the others in the left and right-hand side. Connect the hose to whichever is the more convenient by pulling the ring nut (A) from the vent outlet at the back, screwing it on to the hose and pushing it firmly back into place. The unused vents should now be sealed with the special snap covers provided.

Advice: If the hose is long and the room temperature low, the moisture might condense to water inside the hose. This is an una- voidable natural phenomenon. To prevent this water from Iying in the hose or flowing back into the tumble dryer, it is advisable to drill a small hole (dia. 3 mm) in the lowest point of the hose and to place a small container below it.(See picture, point B).

Once connected to the dryer, run the vent hose to the desired outlet point, ensuring that the run’s overall length is less than 2 m, and that it contains no more than two bends. As to the outlet itself, if you have decided on a fixed wall/window grille, a good local builder’s merchant should be able to supply you with the necessary fittings and installation advice.

Note that to avoid condensation problems, it is essential that the dryer be fitted with the flexible hose to carry its “exhaust” at least beyond the kitchen units; preferable outside the kitchen.

In order to prevent the appliance from overheating, it is important that the steam exhaust is unobstructed. Therefore, in case of a permanent hose fitted to an exterior wall or ceiling, it must be ensured an exhaust capacity of at least 150 m

/h.

If the dryer is fitted next to kitchen units, make sure that the vent hose is not squashed. If the hose is partially squashed, drying efficiency will be reduced, resulting in longer drying times and higher energy consumption. If the hose is completely squashed, the safety cut-outs with which the machine is fitted may operate.
