INTRODUCTION
RATING PLATE
This is situated on the lower front frame of the appliance and can be seen upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where applicable).
The appliance must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breaker. The rating of the appliance is given on the rating plate.
Do not remove the rating plate from the appliance as this may invalidate the guarantee.
GENERAL NOTES ON USING THE OVENS
We suggest that you run the oven elements for 10 – 15 minutes at 220 their surfaces. The procedure should be repeated with the grill for approximately 5 – 10 minutes. During this period an odour may be emitted, it is therefore advisable to open a window for ventilation.

WHEN FIRST SWITCHING ON
COOKWARE
Baking trays, oven dishes etc., should not be placed directly against the grid covering the fan at the back of the oven.
Do not use baking trays larger than 30cm x 35cm (12” x 14”) as they will restrict the circulation of heat and may affect performance. Advice on the effect of different materials and finishes of bakeware is given in ‘Hints and Tips’ in the appropriate oven section.
THE SHELF POSITIONS
Recommended shelf positions have been shown in the cooking chart on page 32.
If not fitted correctly the shelf will lie at an angle and the safety stop will not be effected. To ensure that the shelf has the correct side uppermost, the wire stringers which make up the shelf should lie on top of the surrounding frame.
The timer must be set to manual before the ovens can be operated. See page 15. This must be done whenever the appliance is switched off at the wall or when there has been a power failure.
If the oven indicator neons do not glow when the controls are switched on, it is most likely that the timer is set for automatic cooking.
ABOUT CONDENSATION AND STEAM
When food is heated it produces steam similar to a boiling kettle. The oven is vented to allow some of this steam to escape. However, always stand back from the appliance when opening the oven door to allow any build up of steam or heat to release.
If the steam comes into contact with a cool surface on the outside of the appliance, e.g. a trim, it will condense and produce water droplets. This is quite normal and is not caused by a fault on the appliance.
To prevent discolouration, regularly wipe away condensation and also soilage from surfaces.
MAIN OVEN LIGHT
SELECTING THE MAIN OVEN LIGHT
The oven light illuminates the main oven when a main oven cooking function and temperature has been selected.
To turn the main oven light on whilst the oven is not in operation, turn the oven function selector to the light function.
13
THE COOLING FAN FOR THE CONTROLS
GRILL AND OVEN FURNITURE
The cooling fan comes on immediately when the grill and top oven is switched on and after a short time when the main oven is in use.
During the initial period the cooling fan may turn ON and OFF, this is quite normal.
It may run on after the ovens or grill are switched off to keep the controls cool.
Always allow the cooling fan to cool the appliance down before switching off at the wall prior to carrying out any cleaning or maintenance work.
NOTE:
The action of the cooling fan will depend on how long the oven(s) or grill have been used and at what temperature. It may not switch in at all at lower temperature settings nor run on when the grill or oven has only been used for a short time.
CONTROL PANEL INDICATOR NEONS
These lights indicate whether the ovens are switched ON. The neons also indicate when the set temperature has been reached. They will turn on and off during use to show that the temperature is being maintained.
If the neons do not operate as the instructions indicate the controls have been incorrectly set. Return all controls to zero and re-set following the instructions for the required setting.
The following items of grill and oven furniture have been supplied with the appliance. If you require replacements of any of the items listed below please contact your local Service Force Centre, quoting the relevant part number.
1 grill pan (311409401)
1 grill pan handle (311468100)
NOTE:
If you require an additional handle for your grill pan, this can be ordered from your local Service Force Centre by quoting part number 311479800\6.
When the oven has been set for automatic cooking the neon should remain unlit during OFF periods.
HELPFUL HINTS WHEN BUYING AND PREPARING FOOD
Care must be taken when handling foods in the home. Always follow the basic rules of food hygiene to prevent bacterial and microbial growth and cross contamination when preparing, reheating, cooking, cooling, defrosting and freezing foods:-
1. Avoid buying chilled or frozen products if you cannot store them straight away. The use of an insulated container when shopping is advisable.
2. When you arrive home, place perishable foods in the refrigerator or freezer immediately. Ensure they are well covered to prevent them drying out and to prevent any possible cross contamination with bacteria from raw to cooked foods.
3. In the kitchen keep work tops, chopping boards and utensils clean with hot soapy water between preparation stages. Ideally, keep one chopping board for raw meat and another for Keep your dish cloths and tea towels clean.

In the event of an interruption of the electricity supply, the timer will reset itself to zero, and all programming will be cancelled.
7. AUTOMATIC COOKING
It is advisable to leave food in the oven for as short a time as possible before automatic cooking. Always ensure commercially prepared food is well within its use by date and that home prepared food is fresh and of good quality.
When cooking is complete, do not leave food to stand in the oven, but remove and cool it quickly if the food is not to be consumed immediately.
Always ensure food in the oven has been covered before cooking if it is not possible to remove food immediately after cooking.
Follow the cooking instructions on packets of prepared and cooked chilled foods, but be prepared to adjust cooking time and temperatures to suit your particular oven. For example, the fan oven generally requires 2025°C lower temperature than conventional ovens.
Always ensure that cooked chilled foods are thoroughly re-heated until they are piping hot throughout.
If not eaten straight away after cooking, food should be cooled as quickly as possible (within one hour) and then refrigerated or frozen as required. (Do not put hot food into a Refrigerator or Freezer).

THE GRILL PAN AND HANDLE
HINTS AND TIPS
The grill pan is supplied with a removable handle.
To attach the handle, place the wirework under the cut out in the pan so that the metal plate hooks over the top of the grill pan.
Slide the handle to the left and over the central bump on the grill pan.
Ensure the handle is correctly located. It is not necessary to remove the grill pan handle during grilling.
· In order to become acquainted with the
performance of the Dual Grill it is advisable to check food regularly when grilling.
· Food should be thoroughly dried before grilling to
minimise splashing. Brush lean meats and fish lightly with a little oil or melted butter to keep them moist during cooking.
· Adjust the height of the grilling grid and grill pan
runner position to allow for different foods.
· Most food should be placed on the grill pan grid
in the 'high' position in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air around the food.
· Accompaniments such as tomatoes and
mushrooms may be placed underneath the grid when grilling meats.
To remove the handle, slide the handle to the right and lift the handle away from the cut out on the grill pan.
Place the grill pan on the shelf so that the pan is positioned centrally beneath the grill.
· When toasting bread use the cranked shelf in
position 2 with the grid in the high position.
· Preheat the grill on a full setting for a few minutes
before sealing steaks or toasting. Adjust the heat setting and the shelf as necessary during cooking.
· The food should be turned over during cooking
as required.
· When using the centre section of the dual grill,
ensure food is positioned centrally on the grill pan grid in the grill pan.

THE TOP OVEN
USES OF THE TOP OVEN
The top oven is the smaller of the two ovens. It is heated by elements in the top and bottom of the oven. It is designed for cooking smaller quantities of food. It gives especially good results if used to cook fruit cakes, sweet or savoury flans or quiche.
The top oven is also ideal for use as a warming compartment to warm dishes and keep food hot. Use the lowest setting on the top oven temperature control.
SELECTING THE TOP OVEN
· Turn the Top Oven/Grill Function selector to Top
Oven.
· Turn the Top Oven Temperature control to the
required setting.
THINGS TO NOTE
1. The top oven light will come.
2. The top oven indicator neon will glow until the oven has reached the desired temperature and then go out. It will turn ON and OFF periodically during cooking showing that the temperature is being maintained.
3. The controls cooling fan will operate immediately.
See page 14 for more information on the cooling fan.
TO FIT THE TOP OVEN SHELF
The cranked shelf should be fitted with the straight rods uppermost on the frame and the forms towards the back of the oven. If not fitted correctly the anti-tilt and safety stop mechanism will be affected.
HINTS AND TIPS
· All cooking should be carried out using shelf
positions one and two. Shelf positions are counted from the bottom upwards. Shelf position 3 should be reserved for grilling only.
· There should always be at least 2.5cm (1”)
between the top of the food and the element. This gives best cooking results and allows room for rise in yeast mixtures, Yorkshire puddings etc. When cooking cakes, pastry, scones, bread etc., place the tins or baking trays centrally on the shelf directly below the element.
22
· Ensure that food is placed centrally on the shelf
and there is sufficient room around the baking tray/dish to allow for maximum circulation.
· Stand dishes on suitably sized baking trays on
the shelf to prevent spillage onto the oven base and to help reduce cleaning.

· Because of the smaller cooking space, lower
temperatures and shorter cooking times are sometimes required. Be guided by the Top Oven Cooking Chart.
Shelf positions are counted from the bottom of the oven upwards.
23
THE MAIN FAN OVEN
USES OF THE FAN OVEN
The oven is heated by an element around the fan situated behind the back panel. The fan draws air from the oven and the element heats the air which is circulated into the oven via the vents in the back panel. The advantages of the fan oven are cooking are:
PREHEATING
The fan oven quickly reaches its temperature, so it is not usually necessary to preheat the oven. Without preheating however, you may find you need to add an extra 5 – 10 minutes on the recommended cooking times. For recipes needing high temperatures, e.g. bread, pastries, scones, soufflés etc., best results are achieved if the oven is preheated first. For best results when cooking frozen or cooked chilled ready meals always preheat the oven first.
COOKING TEMPERATURES
Fan oven cooking generally requires lower temperatures than conventional cooking. Follow the temperatures recommended in the chart on page 32. As a guide reduce temperatures by about 20C° - 25°C for your own recipes, using a conventional oven.
BATCH BAKING
The fan oven cooks evenly on all shelf levels, especially useful when batch baking.
SELECTING THE FAN OVEN
· Turn the Main Oven function selector to Fan
Oven.
· Turn the Main Oven Temperature control to the
required setting.
THINGS TO NOTE
1. The oven fan and internal oven light will come on.
TO FIT THE MAIN OVEN SHELVES
The shelves should be fitted with the straight rods uppermost on the frame and the forms towards the back of the oven. If not fitted correctly the anti-tilt and safety stop mechanism will be affected.
2. The main oven indicator neon will glow until the oven has reached the desired temperature. It will turn ON and OFF periodically during cooking showing that the temperature is being maintained.
3. The cooling fan for the controls may operate after a time. See page 14 for further details on the operation of the cooling fan.
4. If an automatic programme is set, the oven fan and oven light do not come on until the cook time begins.
24
HINTS AND TIPS
· Arrange the shelves in the required positions
before switching the oven ON. Shelves are numbered from the bottom upwards.
· When cooking more than one dish in the fan
oven, place dishes centrally on different shelves rather than cluster several dishes on one shelf, this will allow the heat to circulate freely for the best cooking results.
· When batch baking one type of food e.g. Victoria
sandwich cakes, those of similar size will be cooked in the same time.
· It is recommended that when baking larger
quantities, the shelf positions should be evenly spaced to suit the load being cooked. A slight increase in cooking time may be necessary.
· DO NOT place dishes or baking trays directly on
the oven base as it interferes with the oven air circulation and can lead to base burning; use the lower shelf position.
· The use of excessively high temperatures can
cause uneven browning. It may be necessary to reduce temperatures slightly. Refer to the recommendations given in the oven cooking chart, see page 32.
25
TURBO GRILL
USES OF TURBO GRILL
Turbo grill offers an alternative method of cooking food items normally associated with conventional grilling.
The grill element and the fan operate together, circulating hot air around the food. The need to check and turn food is reduced. Turbo grill helps to minimise cooking smells in the kitchen and allows you to grill with the oven door closed.
With the exception of toast and rare steaks you can turbo grill all the foods you would normally cook under a conventional grill.
The lower part of the oven can be used to cook accompaniments at the same time, e.g. tomatoes and mushrooms with a mixed grill or breakfast.
Dishes prepared in advance such as shepherd’s pie, lasagne and au gratins can be heated through and browned on the top using the turbo grilling function.
SELECTING TURBO GRILL
· Turn the Main Oven Function selector to Turbo
Grill.
· Turn the main oven temperature control to the
required setting. (A temperature of between 140°C and 220°C is suitable for turbo grilling).
NOTE:
Turbo grilling helps to minimise cooking smells in the kitchen and is carried out with the main oven door closed.
THINGS TO NOTE
1. The main oven indicator neon will glow until the oven has reached the desired temperature and then go out. It will then turn ON and OFF periodically during cooking showing that the oven temperature is being maintained.
2. The oven fan and internal oven light will come on.
3. The cooling fan for the controls may operate after a period of time. It may run on after the controls are switched off until the appliance has cooled. See page 14 for further details on the operation of the cooling fan.
4. Always turbo grill with the oven door closed and with the grill pan handle removed.
26
HINTS AND TIPS
· Prepare foods in the same way as for
conventional grilling. Brush lean meats and fish lightly with a little oil or butter to keep them moist during cooking.
COOKING TIMES
Cooking is more gentle, therefore food generally takes a little longer to cook when turbo grilling compared with conventional grilling. One of the advantages is that larger loads can be cooked at the same time.
A general guide to cooking times is given on this page but these times may vary slightly depending on the thickness and quantity of food being cooked.
TURBO GRILLING CHART
· Most food should be placed on the grill pan grid
in the 'high' position in the grill pan to allow maximum circulation of air around the food.
· Accompaniments such as tomatoes and
mushrooms may be placed below the grid when grilling meats, or in a separate dish on a lower shelf.
· Foods will cook more quickly the closer they are
to the grill element and the higher the temperatures selected. Be prepared to adjust temperatures and shelf positions during cooking if necessary.
· Turn food over during cooking as necessary.

29
THE CONVENTIONAL OVEN
USES OF THE CONVENTIONAL OVEN
This function uses the top and lower elements to give single level cooking. This is particularly suitable for dishes which require extra base browning such as pizzas, quiches and flans. Au Gratins, lasagnes and hotpots which require extra top browning also cook well in the conventional oven. This form of cooking gives you the opportunity to cook without the fan oven in operation.
SELECTING THE CONVENTIONAL OVEN
· Turn the Main Oven Function selector to
Conventional Oven.
· Turn the Main Oven Temperature control to
required setting.
THINGS TO NOTE
1. The main oven indicator neon will glow until the oven has reached the desired temperature and then go OUT. It will then turn ON and OFF showing that the oven temperature is being maintained.
2. The internal oven light operates when the selector is set. If an automatic programme is set, the oven light will come on when the cook time starts.
3. The control cooling fan will operate after a short time and runs on after the controls are switched off until the appliance has cooled. See page 14 for more details on the cooling fan.
30
HINTS AND TIPS
· The middle shelf allows for the best heat
distribution. To increase base browning simply lower the shelf position. To increase top browning, raise the shelf position.
· The material and finish of the baking trays and
dishes used will affect base browning. Enamelware, dark heavy or non-stick utensils increase base browning, while oven glassware, shiny aluminium or polished steel trays reflect the heat away and give less base browning.
· For faster preheating use the fan oven function to
preheat the oven until the main oven indicator neon goes out, then switch the selector to the conventional oven setting.
· Single level cooking gives best results. If you
require more than oven level cooking use the fan oven function.
· Always place dishes centrally on the shelf to
ensure even browning.
· Stand dishes on suitably sized baking trays to
prevent spillage onto the base of the oven and make cleaning easier.
· Dishes, tins and trays should not be placed
directly on oven floor as it becomes very hot and damage will occur.

BOTTOM HEAT
USES OF THE BOTTOM HEAT FUNCTION
This function can be used to finish off dishes that may require extra base heat or where base browning and crispness are required by pizzas or pies. Some pizzas should be cooked directly on the oven shelf. To prevent soiling the oven base, place a baking tray in one of the lower positions.
SELECTING BOTOM HEAT
· Towards the end of the cook time, turn the Main
Oven Function selector to Bottom Heat.
· Turn the Main Oven Temperature control to the
required setting.
· The internal oven light will come on.
· The main oven indicator neon will glow until the
oven has reached the desired temperature and then go OUT. It will then turn ON and OFF showing that the oven temperature is being maintained.
· Do not place dishes, tins or baking trays
directly on the oven base as damage will occur.
THE EFFECTS OF DISHES ON COOKING RESULTS
Dishes and tins vary in their thickness, conductivity, colour, etc, which affects the way they transmit heat to the food inside them. The material and finish of the baking trays and dishes used will affect base browning.
· Aluminium, earthenware, oven glassware and
bright shiny utensils reduce cooking and underneath browning.
· Enamelled cast iron, anodised aluminium,
aluminium with non-stick interior and coloured exterior and dark, heavy utensils increase cooking and underneath browning.
· Always place dishes centrally on the shelf to
ensure even browning.
NOTE:
This function should not be used for the entire cooking time. It is intended as a support function only.
33
DEFROST FEATURE
USES OF DEFROST FEATURE
This function enables you to defrost most foods faster than some conventional methods as the oven fan circulates air around the food. It is particularly suitable for delicate frozen foods which are to be served cold e.g. cream filled gateaux, cakes covered with icings or frostings, cheesecakes, biscuits, scones, etc.
It is preferable to thaw fish, meat and poultry slowly in the fridge. However, this process can be accelerated by using the defrost function.
SELECTING DEFROST
Small or thin fish fillets, frozen peeled prawns, cubed or minced meat, liver, thin chops, steaks etc., can be thawed in 1 – 2 hours.
A 1kg/2¼lb oven ready chicken will be thawed in approximately 5 hours. Remove the giblets as soon as possible during the thawing process.
Joints of meat up to 2kg/4½lb in weight can be thawed using the defrost function.
ALL JOINTS OF MEAT AND POULTRY MUST BE THAWED THOROUGHLY BEFORE COOKING.
ALWAYS COOK THOROUGHLY IMMEDIATELY AFTER THAWING.
· Turn the Main Oven Function selector to Defrost.
· This function DOES NOT require a temperature
setting on the Main Oven Temperature control.
· The oven fan and internal oven light will operate.
HINTS AND TIPS
· Place the frozen food in a single layer where
possible and turn it over half way through the defrosting process.
· The actual speed of defrosting is influenced by
room temperature. On warm days defrosting will be faster than on cooler days.
· DO NOT leave food at room temperature once it
is defrosted. Cook raw food immediately or store cooked food in the fridge, once it has cooled.
· Care must always be taken when handling foods
in the home. Always follow the basic rules of food hygiene to prevent bacterial and microbial growth and cross contamination when defrosting, cooking cooling and freezing foods.
34
CARE AND CLEANING
BEFORE CLEANING THE APPLIANCE ALWAYS ALLOW THE COOLING FAN TO COOL THE APPLIANCE DOWN BEFORE SWITCHING OFF THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY.
CLEANING MATERIALS
Before using any cleaning materials on your appliance, check that they are suitable and that their use is recommended by the manufacturer.
Cleaners that contain bleach should NOT be used as they may dull the surface finishes. Harsh abrasives should also be avoided.
CLEANING THE OUTSIDE OF THE APPLIANCE
DO NOT use abrasive cleaning materials e.g. Hob
Brite, Brillo pads or scourers on painted or printed finishes as damage may occur. Regularly wipe over the control panel, oven doors and cooker appliance sides using a soft cloth and liquid detergent. To prevent streaking on stainless steel models (where applicable) finish with a soft cloth. Any spillage on
the stainless steel finish must be wiped off immediately.
Stainless Steel cream cleaners are abrasive and should be avoided as they may dull the surface finish.
CLEANING THE CONTROL KNOBS AND HANDLES
It is strongly recommended that only hot soapy water is used for cleaning the control knobs and door handles. ANY OTHER CLEANING MATERIALS WILL DULL THE SURFACE FINISH.
CLEANING INSIDE THE OVENS
The Stayclean surface inside the ovens should not be cleaned manually. See 'Care of Stayclean Surfaces'. The vitreous enamel top oven base and main oven base can be cleaned using normal oven cleaners or aerosol oven cleaners with care. Ensure that the manufacturers instructions are followed and that all parts are well rinsed afterwards.
Aerosol cleaners must not be used on Stayclean surfaces and must not come into contact with elements or the door seal as this may cause damage.
DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE ANY OF THE CONTROL KNOBS FROM THE APPLIANCE AS THIS MAY CAUSE DAMAGE AND IS A SAFETY HAZARD.
Under no circumstances should the door assembly be detached from the product for cleaning. Please refer to the cleaning instructions.
CARE OF STAYCLEAN SURFACES
Stayclean surfaces destroy splashes of food and fats when the oven temperature is raised to around 220°C.
To aid this process it is a good idea to run the Top Oven for an hour or two per week without food. To ensure continued good performance from the Stayclean finish.
HINTS AND TIPS
· Manual cleaning of the Stayclean surface IS NOT
recommended. Damage will occur if abrasives or aerosol sprays of any kind are used.
· Slight discolouration and polishing of the
Stayclean surfaces may occur in time. This DOES NOT affect the Stayclean properties in any way.
35
· A good time to allow the oven to run on is after
the weekly roast. After removing the roast, turn the oven up to 220°C and allow to run for an hour or so. It is important NOT to allow a build-up of soilage as this can prevent the Stayclean surfaces from working.
· Follow the recommendations below to keep oven
soilage to minimum.
· Cook at the recommended temperatures. Higher
temperatures during roasting will increase soilage. Try cooking at lower temperatures for an increased length of time, you will save energy and often the joint is more tender.
TO REMOVE THE WIREWORK RUNNERS
The wirework runners in the grill and oven cavities can be removed for cleaning.
1. Remove all shelves and furniture from the grill and oven compartments.
2. Hold the wirework at the bottom, unclip from the cavity side and gently pull towards the centre of the grill or oven compartment.
3. Unhook the runner at the top and remove from the cavity.
SIDE PANEL
· Use minimal, if any, extra oil or fat when roasting
meat, potatoes only require brushing with fat before cooking. Extra fat in the oven during roasting will increase splashing and soilage.
· It is not necessary to add water to a meat tin
when roasting. The water and the fat juices from the joint create excessive splattering during cooking even at normal temperatures as well as causing condensation.
· Covering joints during cooking will also prevent
splashing onto the interior surfaces. Removing the covering for the last 20-30 minutes will allow extra browning if required. Some large joints and turkeys especially benefit by this method of cooking, allowing the joint to cook through before the outside is over-browned.
CAVITY CENTRE
4. To replace, hook the wirework runner back into the grill/oven sides.
Ensure that the wirework runners are firmly in place before refitting the oven shelves.
CLEANING THE DOOR GLASS
To prevent damaging or weakening the door glass panels avoid the use of the following:
· Household detergents and bleaches
· Impregnated pads unsuitable for non-
stick saucepans
· Brillo/Ajax pads or steel wool pads
· Chemical oven pads or aerosols
· Rust removers
· Bath/Sink stain removers
CLEANING THE SHELVES, WIREWORK RUNNERS AND GRILL/OVEN FURNITURE
All removable parts, except the grill pan handle, can be washed in the dishwasher.
The meat tin, grill pan, grill pan grid, oven shelves and wirework runners may be cleaned using a soap impregnated steel wool pad. Soaking first in hot soapy water will make cleaning easier.
The main oven and second oven inner door glass panels are removable for cleaning.
Under no circumstances should the door assembly be detached from the product for cleaning. Please refer to the cleaning instructions.
36
TO REMOVE THE INNER GLASS
1. Fully open the oven door.
2. Firmly grasp the rear edge of the inner glass panel with both hands.
3. Push the glass panel towards you until it clears the hinge location points at the rear.
4. With one hand, carefully lift the glass panel to disengage it from the location points under the handle. (With your other hand, hold the outer
door to ensure it does not spring shut on removing the inner panel).
5. Close the oven door.
If the door glass panel becomes chipped or has deep scratches the glass will be weakened and must be replaced to prevent the possibility of the panel shattering. Please contact your local Service Force Centre who will be pleased to advise further.
TO CLEAN THE INNER GLASS DOOR PANELS
Clean the inner door glass panels using a soft cloth and hot water to which a little washing up liquid has been added. If the inner panel is heavily soiled, Hob Brite may be used. Do not use abrasive cleaning materials on the door glass. Ensure that all parts are well rinsed and thoroughly dried before attempting to replace the glass.
Do not clean stainless steel outer panels (where fitted) with Hob Brite as damage to the finish will occur. See cleaning instructions for stainless steel models on page 35.
TO REPLACE THE INNER GLASS PANEL
1. Holding the glass panel in your right hand fully
open the oven door with your left.
2. Gently ease and push the glass into the location
points under the handle before lowering and sliding the glass into position under the hinge location points at the rear.
Ensure the glass is properly located and the text 'This way up' is facing towards you and at the top edge of the door.
Do Not attempt to use the oven without the glass being in place.

REPLACING AN OVEN LIGHT BULB
The type of bulb required is a 300°C. 25 watt small Edison Screw. Part number 572 491 5431-00/1 (Available through your local Service Force Centres).
CAUTION: DISCONNECT THE APPLIANCE
FROM THE ELECTRICITY SUPPLY BEFORE REPLACING THE BULB.
Open the oven door and remove the shelves and wirework runners to enable easy access to the oven light assembly.
Insert a flat blade screwdriver between the oven side and glass which covers the bulb.
Support the glass with your hand and prise out sufficiently to release the glass cover. Unscrew the bulb in an anti-clockwise direction until it is possible to remove the bulb with ease.
Fit the new bulb by turning in a clockwise direction until it is secure. Ensuring the indent to the flange is pointing to the rear of the oven, replace the glass by pushing it firmly into the hole to cover the bulb assembly.
Replace the shelves and wirework runners. Restore the electricity supply and adjust the time of day and clock as necessary.

working.
* Check that the timer is set to manual (see
page 15).

operation (see page 15).
* Check that the grill control is in the OFF
position.

* Leave the oven to cool for a couple of hours.
Check that the grill operates normally. Ensure that the door is left open during grilling.
* If the cooling fan fails, the grill will not
operate correctly. Please call your local Service Force Centre.
The oven temperature is too high or too low:
* Check that the recommended temperatures
are being used (see page 32). Be prepared to adjust the temperature up or down by 10°C to achieve the results you want.
* Care should be taken if using an oven
thermometer to check oven temperatures as they may be inaccurate.
The following factors should be considered.
* Ensure you purchase an accurate good
quality instrument.
* Ovens will cycle about a set temperature and
will not be constant.
If the oven is not cooking evenly.
* Check that the appliance is correctly installed
and that it is level.
* Check that the recommended temperatures
and shelf positions are being used.
The oven light fails to illuminate:

the OFF position.
* If you have checked the timer is set to
manual switch OFF at the wall to allow the oven to cool. Check that the oven is now working normally.
The timer control does not work
* Check that the operating instructions are
being closely followed (See page 15).
The oven fan is noisy:
* Check that the oven is level.
* Check that bakeware and shelves are not
vibrating in contact with the back panel in the oven.
The indicator neons are not working correctly or the function selected is not working.
* Check that you have correctly selected only
the oven function you require. Ensure all the other controls are in the OFF ‘O’ position.
NB. If the selector is set to ‘O’ and the oven
temperature control to a setting the main oven neon will illuminate and the cooling fan will operate. This is not a fault.
