Mains on Indicator
The mains on light will come on when the oven function
control knob is set.
Thermostat Control Knob
Turn the thermostat control knob clockwise to select
temperatures between 50°C and MAX (230°C).
Thermostat Control Indicator (°C)
The thermostat control indicator will come on when the
thermostat control knob is turned. The indicator will
remain on until the correct temperature is reached. It will
then cycle on and off to show the temperature is being
maintained.
The Safety Thermostat
This oven is provided with a safety thermostat. In case of
malfunctioning of the main thermostat, and consequent
over-heating, the safety device will stop the power supply
to the appliance. If this happens, call your local Service
Force Centre. Under no circumstances should you
attempt to repair the appliance yourself.
The cooling fan
The cooling fan operates during cooking. Air is expelled
through vents between the oven door and the control
panel, as shown in the diagram.
The cooling fan may run on after the oven is switched off
to keep the controls cool. This is quite normal.
6
End of cooking programmer
This device (Fig. 4) allows you to make the oven switch
off automatically once the preset time is over. An acousitic
signal will be heard when the cooking is completed. The
cooking duration can be set up to 90 minutes maximum.
Place food in the oven and turn the oven function control
knob and the thermostat control knob on the required
settings. Turn the timer knob to maximum time position,
then turn it back to set the required cooking time. When
the cooking time is over, an acoustic alarm will sound
and the oven will switch off automatically. Turn the timer
knob on to set the oven on manual operation.
When the oven is first installed
Before cooking for the first time, carefully wash
the oven accessories.
The oven will work only the end of cooking
programmer is on manual operation SYMBOL
(Hand.tif).
Once the oven has been installed:
a) set the thermostat knob to MAX (230 °C);
b) switch the oven function control knob to conventional
cooking ();
c) allow the oven to run empty for approximately 45
minutes;
d) open a window for ventilation.
During this time, an unpleasant odour may be emitted.
This is absolutely normal, and is caused by residues of
manufacturing.
Repeat this operation for the grill and fan cooking function.
Once this operation is carried out, let the oven cool down,
then clean the oven cavity with a soft cloth soaked in
warm soapy water.
Telescopic shelf supports
Shelf level 2 is fitted with telescopic shelf supports.
1. Pull the right and left hand telescopic shelf supports
completely out, as shown in the diagram.
2. Place the shelf or the grill pan on the telescopic shelf
supports, as shown in the diagram, then gently push
them all inside the oven.
Do not attempt to close the oven door if the
telescopic shelf supports are not completely inside
the oven. This could damage the door enamel and
glass.
To open the oven door, always catch the
handle in its central part (Fig. 4).
7
The Conventional Oven
When using this setting, heat comes from both the top
and bottom elements. This allows you to cook on a single
level and is particularly suitable for dishes which require
extra base browning such as quiches and flans.
Gratins, lasagnes and hotpots which require extra top
browning also cook well in the conventional oven.
How to Use the Conventional
Oven
1. Turn the oven function control knob to the required
cooking function ().
2. Turn the thermostat control knob to the required temperature.
Top oven element only
This function is suitable for finishing cooked dishes, e.g.
lasagne, shepherds pie, cauliflower cheese etc.
Bottom oven element only
This function is particularly useful when blind-baking
pastry. It may also be used to finish off quiches or flans
to ensure the base pastry is cooked through.
Things to note
•The thermostat control light will remain on until the
correct temperature is reached. It will then cycle on
and off to show the temperature is being maintained.
•The cooling fan will operate continually during cooking.
It may run on after the oven is switched off to keep the
controls cool. This is quite normal.
The action of the cooling fan will depend on how long the
oven has been used and at what temperature. It may not
switch on at all at lower temperature settings nor run on
where the oven has only been used for a short time.
Hints and Tips
-The middle shelf position allows for the best heat
distribution. To increase base browning simply lower
the shelf position. To increase top browning, raise the
shelf position.
-The material and finish of the baking trays and dishes
used will affect base browning. Enamelware, dark,
heavy or non-stick utensils increase base browning,
while oven glassware, shiny aluminium or polished
steel trays reflect the heat away and give less base
browning.
-Always place dishes centrally on the shelf to ensure
even browning.
-Stand dishes on suitably sized baking trays to prevent
spillage onto the base of the oven and make cleaning
easier.
-Do not place dishes, tins or baking trays directly on
the oven base as it becomes very hot and damage
will occur.
8
Using the Fan Oven
The air inside the oven is heated by the element around
the fan situated behind the back panel. The fan circulates
hot air to maintain an even temperature inside the oven.
The advantages of cooking with this function are:
●●
●
Faster Preheating
●●
As the fan oven quickly reaches temperature, it is not
usually necessary to preheat the oven although you may
find that you need to allow an extra 5-7 minutes on
cooking times. For recipes which require higher
temperatures, best results are achieved if the oven is
preheated first, e.g. bread, pastries, scones, souffles,
etc.
●●
●
Lower Temperatures
●●
Fan oven cooking generally requires lower temperatures
than conventional cooking.
Follow the temperatures recommended in the cooking
chart or remember to reduce temperatures by about 2025°C for your own recipes which use conventional
cooking.
●●
●
Even Heating for Baking
●●
The fan oven has uniform heating on all runner positions.
This means that batches of the same food can be cooked
in the oven at the same time. However, the top shelf may
brown slightly quicker that the lower one.
This is quite usual. There is no mixing of flavours between
dishes.
How to Use the Fan Oven
1. Turn the oven function control knob to .
2. Turn the thermostat control to the required temperature.
Things to note:
•The oven light will come on when the oven function control
knob is set.
•The oven fan will operate continually during cooking.
•The thermostat control light will remain on until the
correct temperature is reached. It will then cycle on and
off to show the temperature is being maintained.
Defrosting
The oven fan operates without heat and circulates the
air, at room temperature, inside the oven. This increases
the speed of defrosting. However, please note that the
temperature of the kitchen will influence the speed of
defrosting.
This function is particularly suitable for delicate food which
could be damaged by heat, e.g. cream filled gateaux,
iced cakes, pastries, bread and other yeast products.
How to Use Defrosting
1. Turn the oven function control knob to .
2. Ensure the thermostat control knob is in the OFF
position.
Hints and Tips
•Cover food with a lid, aluminium foil or plastic film to
prevent drying out during defrosting.
•ALWAYS COOK THOROUGHLY IMMEDIATELY
AFTER THAWING.
•Frozen food should be placed in a single layer when
ever possible and turned over half way through the
defrosting process.
•Only joints of meat and poultry up to 2 kg. (4 lb.) are
suitable for defrosting in this way.
9
Grilling
Grilling must be carried out with the oven door closed.
The grill pan handles must be removed from the pan.
How to Use the Grill
1. Turn the oven control function knob on .
2. Turn the thermostat control knob on the required temperature.
3. Adjust the grid and grill pan runner position to allow
for different thicknesses of food. Position the food
close to the element for faster cooking and further
away for more gentle cooking.
Preheat the grill on a full setting for a few minutes before
sealing steaks or toasting. Adjust the heat setting and
the shelf as necessary, during cooking.
During cooking, the cooling fan and the thermostat control
light will operate in the same way as described for the
fan oven function.
Hints and Tips
- Most foods should be placed on the grid in the grill pan to
allow maximum circulation of air to lift the food out of the
fats and juices. Food such as fish, liver and kidneys may
be placed directly on the grill pan, if preferred
- Food should be thoroughly dried before grilling to minimise
splashing. Brush lean meats and fish lightly with a little oil
or melted butter to keep them moist during cooking
- Accompaniments such as tomatoes and mushrooms
may be placed underneath the grid when grilling meats.
- When toasting bread, we suggest that the top runner
position is used.
- The food should be turned over during cooking, as required.
The grill element is controlled by the thermostat. During
cooking, the grill cycles on and off to prevent overheating.

Hints and tips for using the oven
Fan cooking
Conventional cooking
Heat comes from the top and from the bottom, therefore
it is preferable to use the central runners.
If cooking requires more heat from the top or from the
bottom use the top or the bottom runners.
Fan cooking
The food is cooked by means of preheated air force blown
evenly round the inside of the oven by a fan set on the
rear wall of the oven itself.
Heat thus reaches all parts of the oven evenly and fast
and this means that you can simultaneously cook different
types of foods positioned on the various oven shelves
(See figure aside). Fan cooking ensures rapid elimination
of moisture and the dryer oven environment stops the
different aromas and flavours from being transmitted from
one food to another.
The possibility of cooking on several shelf heights means
that you can cook several different dishes at the same
time and up to three tins of biscuits and mini pizzas to
be eaten immediately or subsequently deep frozen.
Naturally the oven can also be used for cooking on just
one shelf. In this case you should use the lowest set of
runners so that you can keep an eye on progress more
easily.
In addition, the oven is particularly recommended for
sterilizing preserves, cooking home-made fruit in syrup,
and for drying mushrooms or fruit.
Grilling
When grilling meat or fish, spread a little oil on them and
always place them on the oven grid. The shelf level
depends on the thickness of the food.
Always place the dripping pan at the lowest level, with
some water in it, to avoid smoke and unpleasant smells.
When food is heated, it produces steam in
the same way as a boiling kettle does. When
steam comes in contact of the oven door
glass, it will condense and produce water
droplets. To reduce condensation, ensure the
oven is well heated before placing food in
the oven cavity.
A short oven pre-heating (about 10 minutes)
will then be necessary before anycooking.
We recommend you to wipe away
condensation after each use of the appliance.
Always cook with the oven door closed.

Cookware
•Use any oven proof cookware which will withstand
temperatures of 230°C.
•Baking trays, oven dishes, etc. should not be placed
directly against the grid covering the fan at the back of
the oven, or placed on the oven base.
•Do not use baking trays larger than 30 cm x 35 cm (12
in x 14 in) as they will restrict the circulation of heat and
may affect performance.
Condensation and Steam
The oven is supplied with an exclusive system which
produces a natural circulation of air and the constant
recycling of steam. This system makes it possible
to cook in a steamy environment and keep the
dishes soft inside and crusty outside. Moreover,
the cooking time and energy consumption are
reduced to a minimum. During cooking steam may
be produced which can be released when opening
the oven door. This is absolutely normal.
However, always stand back from the oven
when opening the oven door during
cooking or at the end of it to allow any
build up of steam or heat to release.
The effects of dishes
on cooking results
Dishes and tins vary in their thickness, conductivity,
colour, etc. which affects the way they transmit heat to
the food inside them.
A Aluminium, earthenware, oven glassware and bright
shiny utensils reduce cooking and underneath
browning.
B Enamelled cast iron, anodized aluminium, aluminium
with non-stick interior and coloured exterior and dark,
heavy utensils increase cooking and underneath
browning.

This chart is intended as a guide only. It may be necessary to increase or decrease the temperature to suit your individual
requirements. Only experience will enable you to determine the correct setting for your personal requirements.
If you wish to cook more than one dish at the same time, we suggest that you change the cooking levels of your dishes during
the last 5-10 minutes in order to obtain a more uniform colour of your dishes.
(*) If you need to cook more than one dish at the same time, we recommend you to place them on the levels quoted between
12
brackets. Shelf positions are counted from bottom of the oven.
Cleaning and Maintenance
General Cleaning
Before carrying out any cleaning or
manteinance work, always disconnect the
appliance from the electrical supply, and
allow it to cool down.
•When using spray cleaning products, be careful not
to spread them on the heating elements or on the
thermostat sensor.
•Never use harsh abrasives, steel wool or cleaners
with bleach, as they could damage the enamel and
the oven door glass.
The Oven Cavity
The enamelled oven cavity is best cleaned whilst the
oven is still warm. It is advisable to wipe the oven over with
a soft cloth soaked in warm soapy water after each use.
However, from time to time, it will be necessary to do a
more complete cleaning, using a proper oven cleaner.
In case of particularly tough stains, you can use stainless
steel cleaning products or some warm vinegar.
If cooking fruits, some over-heated natual acids
can squeeze and settle on the oven enamel,
causing stains quite difficult to remove. This could
affect the enamel brightness, but it will have no
consequence on the oven performances. To avoid
these stains to be burnt out during the next
cooking, carefully clean the oven cavity after all
fruits cookings.
The Oven Door and its gasket
Before cleaning the oven door, we recommend you to
remove it from the oven.
Proceed as follows:
1) open the oven door completely;
2) find the hinges linking the door to the oven (Fig. 1);
3) unlock and turn the small levers located on the two
hinges (Fig. 2);
4) handle the door by its left- and right-hand sides, then
slowly turn it towards the oven until it is half-closed
(Fig.3);
5) gently pull the oven door off its site (Fig. 3);
6) place it on a steady plan.
Clean the oven door glass with warm water and a softh
cloth only.
Once the cleaning is carried out, refit the oven door,
following the procedure in reverse.
The correct operation of the oven is ensured by a gasket
placed round the edge of the oven cavity.
•Periodically check the condition of this gasket. If
necessary, clean it without using abrasive cleaning
products.
•
If the gasket shows to be damaged, call you local
Service Centre. Do not use the oven until it has been
repaired.
Models in stainless steel or aluminium:
We recommend to clean the oven door using only a wet
sponge and dry it up after cleaning with a soft cloth.
Never use steel wool, acids or abrasive products as they
can damage the oven surface. Clean the oven control
panel following the same precautions.
Fig. 1
Fig. 2
Fig. 3
13
Oven Shelves and Shelf Supports
To clean the oven shelves, soak in warm soapy water and
remove stubborn marks with a well wetted soap
impregnated pad.
Rinse well and dry with a soft cloth.
The shelf supports can be removed for easy cleaning.
Proceed as follows:
1) remove the front screw while keeping the shelf support
in position with the other hand (Fig. 4);
2) disengage the rear hook and take off the shelf support
(Fig. 5);
1) once the cleaning is carried out, refit the shelf
supports following the procedure in reverse.
Please, ensure the retaining nuts are secure when
refitting the shelf support.
When cleaning the shelf supports, take care
not to remove the lubricating grease behind
the telescopic runners. This is meant to
ensure their good operation.
Fig. 4
Replacing the Oven Light
Ensure the electricity supply is switched off
before carrying out this operation.
The oven bulb has to comply to these features:
a) resistant to temperatures of 300 °C;
b) electric rate: 230 V - 50 Hz;
c) electric power rate: 25 W;
d) connection type: E 14.
To replace the bulb, proceed as follows (Fig. 6):
a) push in and turn the glass lid anticlockwise;
b) remove tha faulty bulb;
c) replace it with a new one;
d) refit the glass lid;
e) switch on the electricity supply.
Grease Filter
When cooking meat, the grease filter must be fitted over
the oven fan by clipping it over the vents in the back
panel. This will prevent a built-up of fat on the fan
impellor. Do not use abrasive materials to clean the seal.
The grease filter is dishwasher proof.
When cooking is completed and the oven has cooled
down, remove the filter by pushing the protruding tongue
on the filter upward (see Fig. 7).
Wash the filter after use using warm soapy water.
Fit the grease filter only when roasting.

Electrical connection
Only qualified personnel should install the appliance (place in cabinet and make electrical connection).
Every operation must be carried out with appliance disconnected from the electricity supply; when this is
not possible the maximum care is required when working on the appliance.
Before proceeding to the connection of the oven make
sure that:
-the limiting valve and the domestic electrical circuit
are sufficient to support the load of the appliance (see
identification plate);
-the electrical system is equipped with an earthing
cable in accordance with current norms and legal
provisions;
-the plug or omnipolar switch used to carry out the
connection is easily accessible once the appliance
is installed.
The appliance is supplied with power cable, the
conductors of which have a minimum section of 3x1.5
mm. Besides this, the cable has a normalised plug
suitable for the electrical load indicated on the
identification plate.
The plug should be connected to a suitable elctrical
socket.
If a direct connection to the supply is desired an omnipolar
switch having a minimum opening of 3mm between the
contacts must be installed between the appliance and
the electricity supply; this switch must be suitable for
the electrical load of the appliance and must conform to
the current norms.
The yellow/green earth wire must not be interrupted by
the switch and it shouldbe 2-3 cm longer than the other
cables.
In every case the supply cable must be positioned insuch
a way that it can, at no time, reach temperaures of more
than 90°C.
After connection test the heating elements by putting
them into operation for abour 3 minutes.
The manufacturers decline all responsibility for
damage or accidents in cases where norms
have not been observed and respected.
