SAFETY INFORMATION Before any cleaning or maintenance operation, disconnect hood from the mains by removing the plug or disconnecting the mains electrical supply. Always wear work gloves for all installation and maintenance operations. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and per­sons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not be allowed to tamper with the controls or play with the appliance. Cleaning and user main te nance shall not be made by children without supervision. The premises where the appliance is installed must be suffi ciently ventilated, when the kitchen hood is used together with other gas

combustion devices or other fuels. The hood must be regularly cleaned on both the inside and outside (AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH). This must be completed in accor dance with the maintenance instructions provided in this manual. Failure to follow the instruc tions provided in this user guide regarding the cleaning of the hood and fi lters will lead to the risk of fi res. The fl aming of foods beneath the hood itself is
severely prohibited.

1.SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
The use of exposed fl ames is detrimental to the fi lters and may cause a fi re risk, and must therefore be avoided in all circumstances. Any frying must be done with care in order to make sure that the oil does not overheat and ignite.
CAUTION: Accessible parts of the
hood may become hot when used with
cooking appliances. For lamp replacement use only lamp type indicated in the Maintenance/Replacing lamps section of this manual.
WARNING! Do not connect the
appliance to the mains until the
installation is fully complete. With regards to the technical and safety measures to be adopted for fume discharging it is important to closely follow the regulations provided by the local authorities. The ducting system for this appliance must not be connected to any existing ventilation system which is being used for any other purpose such as discharging exhaust fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels. Do not use or leave the hood without the lamp correctly mounted due to the possible risk of electric shocks. Never use the hood without effectively mounted grids. The hood must NEVER be used as a support surface unless specifi cally indicated. Use only the fi xing screws supplied with the product for installation or, if not supplied, purchase the correct screws type. Use the correct length for the screws which are identifi ed in the Installation Guide.
In case of doubt, consult an authorised service assistance centre or similar qualifi ed person.
WARNING! Failure to install the
screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.
2.USE
The hood serves to aspirate the fumes and vapors resulting from cooking. The attached installation manual indicates the version to be used depending on the model you have, the suction version with
external evacuation or fi ltering with
internal recirculation .
3.INSTALLATION
The mains power supply must correspond to the rating indicated on the plate situated inside the hood. If provided with a plug connect the hood to a socket in compliance with current regulations and positioned in an accessible area, after installation. If it not tted with a plug (direct mains connection) or if the plug is not located in an accessible area, after installation, apply a double pole switch in accordance with standards which assures the complete disconnection of the mains under conditions relating to over-current category III in accordance with installation instructions.
Warning!Before re-connecting the hood
circuit to the mains supply and checking the efficient function, always check that the mains cable is correctly assembled.

The minimum distance between the supporting surface for the cooking equipment on the hob and the lowest part of the range hood must be not less than 43cm from electric cookers and 65cm from gas or mixed cookers. If the instructions for installation for the gas hob specify a greater distance, this must be adhered to.
4. MAINTENANCE
ATTENTION! Before performing any
maintenance operation, isolate the hood from the electrical supply by switching off at the connector and
removing the connector fuse. Or if the appliance has been connected through a plug and socket, then the plug must be removed from the socket. The cooker hood should be cleaned regularly (at least with the same frequency with which you carry out maintenance of the fat fi lters) internally and externally. Clean using the cloth dampened with neutral liquid detergent. Do not use abrasive products. DO NOT USE ALCOHOL!
Warning! Failure to carry out the basic
cleaning recommendations of the
cooker hood and replacement of the
filters may cause fire risks.Therefore,
we recommend observing these
instructions. The manufacturer declines all responsibility for any damage to the motor or any re damage linked to inappropriate maintenance or failure to observe the above safety recommendations.
4.1 Grease lter - The grease fi lter must be cleaned once a month using non aggressive detergents, either by hand or in the dishwasher, which must be set to a low temperature and a short cycle. When washed in a dishwasher, the grease fi lter may discolour slightly, but this does not affect its fi ltering capacity.
4.2 NON-washable activated charcoal lter
The saturation of the charcoal lter occurs after more or less prolonged use, depending on the type of cooking and the regularity of cleaning of the grease fi lter. In any case it is necessary to replace the cartridge at least every four mounths. The charcoal fi lter may NOT be washed or regenerated.

5. CONTROLS
The hood is fi tted with a control panel with aspiration speed selection control and a light switch to control cooking area lights.

6. LIGHTING
X66164MP1 - X69164MP2 - DPB5650M/A The hood is equipped with a lighting system based on LED technology. The LEDs guarantee an optimum lighting, a duration up to 10 times as long as the traditional lamps and allow to save 90% electrical energy.
Caution! Do not look directly into the
LED light.

Prior to touching the light bulbs ensure they are cooled down. Replace the old light bulb with the one of the same type as specifi ed in the feature label or near the light lamp on the hood (E14).

Use the high suction speed in cases of concentrated kitchen vapours. It is recommended that the cooker hood suction is switched on for 5 minutes prior to cooking and to leave in operation during cooking and for another 15 minutes approximately after terminating cooking.

This document sets out the terms and conditions of the product warranties for AEG Appliances. It is an important document. Please keep it with your proof of purchase documents in a safe place for future reference should there be a manufacturing defect in your Appliance. This warranty is in addition to other rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.
1. In this warranty:
(a) ‘ACL’ or ‘Australian Consumer Law’ means Schedule 2 to the Competition and
Consumer Act 2010;
(b) ‘Appliance’ means any Electrolux product purchased by you and accompanied
by this document;
(c) ‘ASC’ means Electrolux’s authorised serviced centres;
(d) ‘AEG’ is the brand controlled by Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd of 163
O’Riordan Street, Mascot NSW 2020, ABN 51 004 762 341 in respect of Appliances purchased in Australia and Electrolux (NZ) Limited (collectively “Electrolux”) of 3-5 Niall Burgess Road, Mount Wellington, in respect of Appliances purchased in New Zealand;
(e) ‘Warranty Period’ means the period specified in clause 3 of this warranty;
(f) ‘you’ means the purchaser of the Appliance not having purchased the
Appliance for re-sale, and ‘your’ has a corresponding meaning.
2. Application: This warranty only applies to new Appliances, purchased and used in Australia or New Zealand and is in addition to (and does not exclude, restrict, or modify in any way) other rights and remedies under a law to which the Appliances or services relate, including any non-excludable statutory guarantees in Australia and New Zealand.
3. Warranty Period: Subject to these terms and conditions, this warranty continues for in Australia for a period of 60 months and in New Zealand for a period of 60 months, following the date of original purchase of the Appliance.
4. Repair or replace warranty: During the Warranty Period, Electrolux or its ASC will, at no extra charge if your Appliance is readily accessible for service, without special equipment and subject to these terms and conditions, repair or replace any parts which it considers to be defective. Electrolux may, in its absolute discretion, choose whether the remedy oered for a valid warranty claim is repair or replacement. Electrolux or its ASC may use refurbished parts to repair your Appliance. You agree that any replaced Appliances or parts become the property of Electrolux.
5. Travel and transportation costs: Subject to clause 7, Electrolux will bear the reasonable cost of transportation, travel and delivery of the Appliance to and from Electrolux or its ASC. Travel and transportation will be arranged by Electrolux as part of any valid warranty claim.
6. Proof of purchase is required before you can make a claim under this warranty.
7. Exclusions: You may not make a claim under this warranty unless the defect claimed
is due to faulty or defective parts or workmanship. This warranty does not cover:
(a) light globes, batteries, filters or similar perishable parts;
(b) parts and Appliances not supplied by Electrolux;
(c) cosmetic damage which does not aect the operation of the Appliance;
(d) damage to the Appliance caused by: (i) negligence or accident;
(ii) misuse or abuse, including failure to properly maintain or service;
(iii) improper, negligent or faulty servicing or repair works done by
anyone other than an Electrolux authorised repairer or ASC;
(iv) normal wear and tear;
(v) power surges, electrical storm damage or incorrect power supply;
(vi) incomplete or improper installation;
(vii) incorrect, improper or inappropriate operation;
(viii) insect or vermin infestation;
(ix) failure to comply with any additional instructions supplied with
the Appliance;
In addition, Electrolux is not liable under this warranty if:
(a) the Appliance has been, or Electrolux reasonably believes that the Appliance
has been, used for purposes other than those for which the Appliance was intended, including where the Appliance has been used for any non-domestic purpose;
(b) the Appliance is modified without authority from Electrolux in writing;
(c) the Appliance’s serial number or warranty seal has been removed
or defaced.
8. How to claim under this warranty: To enquire about claiming under this warranty, please follow these steps:
(a) carefully check the operating instructions, user manual and the terms of
this warranty;
(b) have the model and serial number of the Appliance available;
(c) have the proof of purchase (e.g. an invoice) available;
(d) telephone the numbers shown below.
9. Australia: For Appliances and services provided by Electrolux in Australia: Electrolux
goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Appliance repaired or replaced if the Appliance fails to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. ‘Acceptable quality’ and ‘major failure’ have the same meaning as referred to in the ACL.
10. New Zealand: For Appliances and services provided by Electrolux in New
Zealand, the Appliances come with a guarantee by Electrolux pursuant to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act, the Sale of Goods Act and the Fair Trading Act. Where the Appliance was purchased in New Zealand for commercial purposes the Consumer Guarantee Act does not apply.
11. Confidentiality: You accept that if you make a warranty claim, Electrolux and
its agents including ASC may exchange information in relation to you to enable Electrolux to meet its obligations under this warranty.
Before calling for service, please ensure that the steps listed in clause 8 above have been followed.
