The IMT-10T industrial mobile tablet is designed for customers in
the retail and field service markets requiring a semi-rugged mobile
tablet running Android to act as a durable terminal with high performance computing and versatile features. The IMT-10T features
a 1.5GHz dual-core TI OMAP5432 system-on-chip, NFC and
RFID reader functions, drop protection, IP54 water and dust resistance and wide operating temperature range.

2Getting Started
2.1Using a microSD Card
Inserting a microSD card
1. Locate the microSD slot on the right side of the tablet
and open the cover.
2. Insert the card into the slot with the contact s pointing into
the slot and the label facing the front of the tablet.
3. Close the cover.
Removing a microSD card
You can safely remove the microSD card when the tablet is
shut down. If you need to remove the card while the tablet is
on, unmount the card first to prevent corrupting or damaging
the card.
1. Unmount the card (if necessary) by touching on the
Home screen and opening Settings Î Storage ÎSD Card Î Unmount SD Card.
2. Open the cover and press the edge of the card to
release it, then pull the card out of the slot.
1. Locate the SIM slot on the right side of the tablet and
open the cover.
2. Insert the card into the slot with the chip side facing the
back of the tablet and the beveled corner pointing into
the slot.
3. Close the cover.
To remove a SIM card, gently press the edge of the card to
release it, then pull the card out of the slot.

2.3Charging the Battery
Be sure to fully charge the battery before using your device for the
first time.
1. Locate the DC input socket on the left side of the tablet
and open the cover.
2. Insert the DC jack end of the AC adapter into the socket
and the AC plug into the wall socket.
3. The power status LED glows red when charging. If
charging for the first time, do not disconnect your device
from AC power until the battery is fully charged, indicated by the power status LED glowing green. This may
take up to 4 hours.
4. Close the cover when charging is completed.
A blinking power status LED indicates an abnormal charging
condition. Check that the AC adapter is properly inserted into

the DC input socket and that the device is not charging in high
temperature conditions, resulting in an overheated battery.
For optimum performance of your battery:
• Only use the AC adapter provided
CAUTION:
• Do not charge the battery when the temperature is high (e.g.
in direct sunlight).
• Do not store the device in high temperature environments
• Only charge the battery when its temperature is between
0°C and 40°C
• If you are not using the device for an extended period of
time, be sure to fully charge the battery at least once every
two weeks. Over discharge of the battery can affect its
performance.
2.4Initial Startup
After turning on your device for the first time, the onscreen display
will guide you through a setup process.
1. Make sure that the tablet is either connected to AC
power or the battery has been fully charged.
2. Press the power button. The tablet powers up and displays the initial screen.

dragged onto the Home Screen for easy access.

3Basic Skills
This chapter describes how to perform basic operations with the
tablet.
The device can get uncomfortably warm when used in warm
environments. Take care to protect yourself (e.g. by wearing

3.4Home Screen
The Home screen is your starting point for accessing features and
functions on your tablet. Initially, it contains only the clock and
Google search bar widgets. You can customize it with application
icons, shortcuts, widgets and other features.
At the bottom of every Home screen is the Favorites tray.
Favorites Tray
To return to the Home screen at any time, touch at the bottom
of the screen.
Extensions to the Home Screen
You can swipe left or right on the Home screen to see additional
screens. Extensions to the Home screen provide more space for
widgets, shortcuts, and other items. On the screen to the left of the
main Home screen, you will find the Quick Settings widget. You
can drag this widget to your desired location.

Quick Settings Widget
The Quick Settings widget lets you quickly access frequently
used functions: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, screen rotation lock,
and screen brightness (Auto, dim, medium, bright).
Customizing the Home Screen
You can add application shortcuts, widgets, and other items to any
part of the Home screen where there is space available. You can
also change the wallpaper.
Adding an Item to the Home Screen
1. Touch (in the Favorites tray) on the Home screen.
2. Touch APPS or WIDGETS depending on the type of item
you want to add.
3. Touch and hold an item, drag it to the where you want to
place it, then release it.
Removing an Item from the Home Screen
Touch and hold the item you want to remove, then drag it to the
“X Remove” icon at the top center of the screen.
Changing the Wallpaper
1. Touch and hold an empty area on the Home screen.
2. In the menu that opens, touch the wallpaper source you
want to use and select your wallpaper. Follow the
instructions to set your new wallpaper.

3.5Using Applications
Touch on the Home screen to open the Applications & Widgets screen. This screen holds icons for all of the applications
on your device. Touch an icon to open the application.

Most applications have a Menu icon near the top right corner of the screen. The menu provides access to options or
functions of the application.
3.6Navigation Bar
The navigation bar at the bottom of the screen provides buttons for
navigation purposes.
Back: Goes back to the previous screen.Home: Opens the Home screen.
Recent: Opens a screen containing thumbnails of applica-
tions recently used. Touch a thumbnail to open that application. Swipe upwards on the thumbnail to close the
application.

3.7Status Bar and Notifications Panel
The Status bar appears at the top of most screens. It displays the
time, battery and other status icons, and notification icon s.

The Notifications panel can be opened by swiping down from the
top of the screen. To respond to a notification, touch it in the panel.

3.8Entering Text
You can enter text, numbers, and symbols using the onscreen
keyboard. Some applications open the keyboard automatically.
Others require you to touch the input field where you want to enter
text to open the keyboard.
To enter text, touch the keys on the keyboard to type. To enter
numbers or symbols, touch the Symbols key to switch to the
numbers and symbols keyboard. Touch the Settings key to
set the input language and access the Android keyboard settings
menu.

4Wireless Connections
The IMT-10T supports wireless connectivity via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
and mobile networks (optional).
4.1Airplane Mode
When it is necessary to turn off all wireless radios, you can put the
tablet into Airplane mode. To quickly enter Airplane mode, press
and hold the power button until the power menu pops up. Touch
Airplane mode. The icon displays in the Status bar.
4.2Wi-Fi
To turn Wi-Fi on or off, touch the icon on the Quick Settings
widget on the Home screen.
Or perform the following steps:

1. Touch on the Home screen and open Settings
2. Find the Wi-Fi item under WIRELESS & NETWORKS.
Slide the Wi-Fi switch on or off.
When the Wi-Fi radio is turned on and your device finds a network
that you previously connected to, it will re-connect to it.
Leaving the Wi-Fi radio on will consume more power. To save
battery power, turn it off when not in use.

Connecting to a Wi-Fi Network
1. Touch on the Home and open Settings. Tu rn on Wi-Fi
as described above and touch Wi-Fi.
2. The tablet will scan for available networks and display
them on the screen.
3. Touch the network you wish to connect to.
4. If the network is secured, you will be prompted to enter a
password. If the network is open, you will be prompted to
confirm that you want to connect to it.
4.3Bluetooth
To turn Bluetooth on or off, touch the icon on the Quick Settings widget on the Home screen.
Or perform the following steps:
1. Touch on the Home screen and open Settings
2. Find the Bluetooth item under WIRELESS & NETWORKS. Slide the Bluetooth switch on or off.
Leaving the Bluetooth radio on will consume more power. To
save battery power, turn it off when not in use.

Pairing with a Bluetooth Device
The first time you use a new Bluetooth device with your tablet, you
must “pair” them, so that they know how to connect securely to
each other. Afterwards, you will only need to connect to a previously paired device.
1. Make sure that the Bluetooth device you wish to pair is
set as “discoverable” and within range.
2. Make sure the Bluetooth radio is turned on.
3. Touch on the Home screen, open Settings and touch
Bluetooth

4. The tablet will scan for and display the IDs of all avail-
able Bluetooth devices within range.
5. On the list of discovered devices, touch the ID of the
device you wish to pair with.
6. If prompted, enter the pass code of the device (usually
0000 or 1234). Refer to the documentation that came
with the device.
7. If the pairing is successful, your tablet will connect to the
device.
4.4GPS
To turn GPS on or off, touch the icon on the Quick Settings
widget on the Home screen.
Or perform the following steps:
1. Touch on the Home screen and open Settings
2. Touch Location Access under PERSONAL. Slide
the Access to my location switch on or off.
When the GPS radio is turned on and your device finds a network
that you previously connected to, it will re-connect to it.
Leaving the GPS radio on will consume more power. To save
battery power, turn it off when not in use.

5External Connections
The IMT-10T has two USB ports, an audio output and HDMI display output.
5.1USB Host
To connect a USB device to the tablet, such as a flash drive or
external storage, use the Micro-A USB port (USB 2.0) on the right
side of the tablet.
5.2USB On-The-Go (OTG)
To use the tablet as a USB OTG device, use the Micro-B USB 3.0
port on the right side of the tablet.

The Settings application allows you to configure and customize
your tablet. To open Settings, touch on the Home screen and

X Avoid exposure to excessive moisture and extreme temper-
atures.
X Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or strong ultraviolet light
for extended periods of time.
X Do not place anything on top of your tablet or drop objects
on your tablet.
X Do not drop your tablet or subject it to severe shock.
X Do not subject your tablet to sudden and severe tempera-
ture changes. This may result in moisture condensation
inside the unit and subsequent damage. In the ev en t of
moisture condensation, allow your tablet to dry out completely before powering it on.
X Avoid touching it with sharp objects to prevent scratches.
X Use a soft, lint-free cloth to clean the screen and the exte-
rior of your device.
X Never attempt to disassemble, repair or make any modifica-
tions to your device. Disassembly, modification or any
attempt at repair could cause damage to your device and
even bodily injury or property damage and will void the warranty.
X Do not store or carry flammable liquids, gases or explosive
materials in the same compartment as your device, its parts

Z Connect the AC adapter to a proper power source. The
voltage and grounding requirements are found on the
product case and/or packaging.
Z Do not use the AC adapter if the cord becomes dam-
aged.
Z Do not attempt to service the adapter. There are no user
serviceable parts inside. Replace the unit if it is damag ed
or exposed to excess moisture.
