802.11b/g VoWiﬁ Phone

The VoWiFI phone VM1188T is designed for

users who need mobility of WiFI and the cost saving of VoIP. The VM1188T is intended to help users make SIP calls without the hassle of turning on your computer. The compact and elegant design of VM1188T allows users to make VoIP calls at work, home, and on campus with POTS like voice quality

The modulation of VM1188T is based on the

WiFi standard; it is compatible with almost all standard 802.11b/g access points. With the VM1188T, users can access to both PSTN and SIP networks as long as there is a trunking gateway available at the CO side. With the easy startup, users don’t have to remember the SSID or security key of each AP, the VM1188T stores these conﬁ gurations and will connect to the access points automatically when boot up. Paired up with the cradle access point CAP2316A, users can enjoy the beneﬁ t of interference free wireless environment through the implementation of MSSID.

Advanced Security

Open Standard SIP v2 Support

The call control protocol of the VM1188T is

based on SIP v2 (Session Initiation Protocol version 2, RFC 3261) open standard, which is interoperable with major SIP-based call servers, IP-PBXs, and other standard SIP-based client devices.

The VM1188T will support WiFi Protected

Access (WPA) and WPA2 with pre-shared keys (PSK). WPA supports TKIP while WPA2, supports AES encryption. WPA, and WPA2 address some of the security risks inherent in the legacy Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) protocol. Speciﬁ cally, they provide stronger authentication and encryption than WEP.

Enhanced Power Saving Design for

Extended Standby and Talk Time

With an improved power-saving design, the

VM1188T can be used for a relatively long period of standby and talk time. With an extended life for each recharge cycle, the VM1188T is available where and when you need it.

Roaming between APs

The VM1188T supports 802.11f Inter Access

Point Protocol (IAPP) to provide STAs with constant IP-connectivity when users moving around in the environment of multi access points. The VM1188T uses L2 Mobility to allow Stations to roam between APs inside their Home IP Network.

Network Compatibility

The VM1188T allows customers to achieve

cost-saving efﬁ ciency with convergence of voice and data over a single wireless network. With the support of 802.11g and backward compatible with 802.11b, the VM1188T will not slow down network throughput while running in a pure 802.11g wireless environment

Exceptional Voice Quality

The QoS function of VM1188T will maintain

exceptional quality in a shared wireless voice and data network by prioritizing voice to have higher priority then data packets. The WMM(802.11e) provides optimum Quality of Service (QoS) by delivering real time application packet with higher priority. The WMM will recognize the Types of Service (TOS) ﬁ eld of the IP frame to assign the priority for the IP frames. The QoS function of VM1188T will also look up 802.1p tag when VLAN is enabled. By providing preference to voice packets over data packets on the wireless LAN, this prioritization of packets helps increase the probability that all voice packets will be transmitted efﬁ ciently.
