ZyXEL’s OTPv2 (One-time Password) authentication solution has been enhanced to offer
more security when there are authorized individuals accessing your organization’s sensitive
information from a remote location, enabling business, protecting data confidentiality,
lowering IT costs, and boosting user productivity.
Key Benefits
Strong Two-Factor Authentication Solution
The starting point of security is to ensure that only authorized people can remotely access the
protected network applications and resources. However, given enough time for attempts, it’s
relatively easy for unauthorized intruders to crack a static password. With a one-time password, the
risk can be greatly reduced by constantly altering the combination. The ZyWALL OTPv2
authentication token is a chip-based, 6-digit numeric PIN to be used alongside a password for strong
two-factor authentication. The ZyWALL OTPv2 solution, along with the SafeWord 2008 management
application, can be easily integrated with existing ZyWALL security solutions.
One token for many applications
The SafeWord 2008 is a network security application that provides LAN, Web, VPN, and remote access
with strong authentication capability. The SafeWord 2008 resides on the network and is managed by
network administrators, while the ZyWALL OTPv2 is operated on client computers. Together, they
provide a highly robust one-time password authentication mechanism to protect network
resources; the most common implementation using the two-factor authentication technology is
remote VPN authentication. Working with the powerful SafeWord 2008, the ZyWALL OTPv2 token
can be used universally in the authentication processes of LAN, Web and OWA applications.

Deploys easily and quickly
SafeWord 2008, SafeNet’s simple-to-deploy and easy-to-use authentication package, allows you to
set up a strong two-factor authentication solution in minutes. SafeWord 2008’s seamless integration
with Microsoft infrastructure makes it simple to deploy two-factor authentication for VPNs, Citrix
applications, Web applications, Webmail, and Outlook Web Access.
Intuitive and easy to install, use and manage
There are various ways to implement the authentication schemes. However many small- to
medium-sized businesses, enterprises and organizations need a two-factor authentication system
that is easy to understand, install, and administer; and it must be reliable once installed. With the
combination of driverless ZyWALL OTPv2 tokens and the SafeWord 2008, this solution provides
everything customers needed to deploy the two-factor authentication capability into network
environments.
Seamless integration with ZyWALL security products
The ZyWALL OTPv2 can be easily deployed along with ZyWALL security products and integrated into
the existing network infrastructure. These combinations provide customers with Two-Factor
Authentication, an optimum security methodology, to significantly elevate the safety level of the
authentication process.
