Incorporating ZyXEL's first-in-the-world PPPoE
implementation, the Prestige 650H/650HW series enables
service providers and users to make use of existing
PPP/PAP/CHAP based authentication and accounting
infrastructure. Users don't need to pay extra for PPPoE
software to enjoy the benefits of PPPoE.

An Instant LAN with an Integrated 10/100Mbps Switch

The combination of a switch and router makes the Prestige
650H/650HW series more efficient and less expensive than
having to purchase separate boxes. The built-in switch
provides each connection a dedicated 10/100 Mbps
bandwidth that greatly increases the throughput for
bandwidth-sensitive applications as opposed to having to
use a hub where the bandwidth would be inefficiently
shared by all of the stations. The industry-standard HP
Auto MDI/MDIX feature enables the on-chip transceivers to
automatically and transparently detect and correct
incorrectly wired cables. This makes installation,
debugging, and maintenance of the network substantially
simpler and less expensive for the end users.

The multimedia-aware NAT (Network Address Translation)
feature not only allows an unlimited number of users to access
the Internet with a single ISP account, but it also supports
multimedia applications such as NetMeeting, CUSeeMe, IRC,
RealPlayer and ICQ. With PPP routing and robust security
features, the Prestige 650H/650HW series connects your
computers to the Internet while protecting your local network.

Ease of Use and Management

The Web-based Graphical User Interface (GUI) allows easy
installation of the Prestige 650H/650HW series and effortless
management, either locally or remotely. With the built-in DHCP
server, which automatically assigns and configures IP
parameters to the computers on your LAN, Internet connections
become truly plug-and-play.

Optional Wireless LAN Solution (Prestige 650HW only)

The optional wireless LAN solution offers quick and easy access
to a traditional wired Ethernet LAN in the office or home. The
wireless LAN is also an extension of existing Ethernet LANs,
