BasicRequirements
lWhentransporting,storing,orusingdevice,keepitdryandavoidhardcollision. lDonotdisassemblethedeviceoropentheenclosure.Incaseofanydevicefailure,
contactZTEtechnicalsupport.
lWithoutauthorization,nounitorindividualisallowedtomodifythedevicestructure,
security,orperformancedesign.
lTheinstallation,operationandmaintenancepersonnelmustbewelltrained,follow
correctoperatingprocedures,andcomplywithsafetyprecautionsduringdevice installation,operation,maintenance,disassembly,andinspection.
lWhenusingthisdevice,followtherelevantlawsandregulationsandrespectthe
legitimaterightsofothers.
UnpackingandInspection
lThesurfaceofthedeviceshouldbesmoothwithoutobviousdefect,scratch,foreign
object,waterstain,oroilstain.
lAllinterfacesaresecuredwell. lAlllabelsareclearandthecoatingisnotdamaged. lAllcablesarenotdamaged,stained,orbroken.
EnvironmentRequirements
lEnsurethatthedeviceisinstalledinanenvironmentwithgoodventilationandwithout
directlight.
lEnsurethatthedeviceisawayfromaheatsourceorahightemperaturearea,and
thedeviceisnotexposedtodirectsunlight.Fordetails,refertoT able7-1.
lDonotinstallthedeviceinanenvironmentwithseverevibration. lEnsurethatthedeviceisawayfromammablematerials,forexample,foammaterial. lEnsurethatthedeviceisclean. lEnsurethatdeviceisawayfromelectricapplianceswithastrongmagneticeldor

InstallationInstructions
lTakeproperprotectivemeasuresforelectrostaticdischarge.Forexample,wear
antistaticglovesoranantistaticwriststrapbeforeinstallingthedevice.
lPlacethedeviceonaplatformthatchildrencannottouch.Donotplaceheavyobjects
ontopofthedevice.

lEnsurethatthereisnohigh-powerdevicewithintherangeof5metersaroundthe
device.Neverusethesamepower-supplycableforthedeviceandahigh-power devicenorconnectthedevicetothesameACpowerstripwithahigh-powerdevice.
lEnsurethatthereisnofacilitythataffectsheatdissipationwithintherangeofone
meteraroundthedevice.Ensurethatthedeviceventsarenotblockedtoavoid overheating.
Power-onandpower-off
lCheckbeforepower-on:
1.CheckwhethertheZXV10ET501terminalisstable.Iftheproductshakesduring operation,conferencesareaffected.
2.EnsurethatpowerandvoltageareintherangesrequiredbytheZXV10ET501. Fortheoperatingvoltagerange,refertoTable7-1.
3.Ensurethatallcablesareconnectedcorrectlyandrmly.
lPower-onsteps:
1.Turnonthemainpowerswitchofthevideoconferencingsystem.
2.Poweronthemonitor,PA,andotherperipheraldevices,andensurethatthey operateproperly.
3.ConnectpowertotheZXV10ET501,andpressthepowerswitchonthefront panellightly.
àPowersurgeoccurswhenanexternaldeviceispoweredonoroff,
transmittinginterferencesignalstotheZXV10ET501andprobablycausing astartupfailureorfaultontheZXV10ET501.Externaldevicesmustbe poweredonbeforetheZXV10ET501isstarted.
àAftertheZXV10ET501isstarted,checkthestatusindicator.Theindicator
islitbluewhentheZXV10ET501operatesproperly.
Note:
àTheperipheralssufferaninrushcurrentwhentheyarepoweredupandshut
down,andasaresulttheysendinterferencesignalstotheterminal.Thismay causeastartupfailure.Thus,youshouldpoweruptheperipheralsbeforestarting upthesystem.
àAftertheZXV10ET501terminalstartsup,youshouldchecktheindicatorsonthe
frontpanel.TheRUNindicatorashesyellowgreenwhenthesystemoperates properly.
lSleepmode:
Pressthepowerswitchonthefrontpanellightly.
lPower-offsteps(oppositetothepower-onprocedure):

UsageInstructions
lDonotfrequentlypulloutandplugtheinputandoutputconnectors. lDonotpulloutandplugtheHDMIcablebeforetheswitchisturnedoff. lAfteryoupoweroffthedevice,waitforatleast15secondsbeforeyoupoweriton. lBeforecleaningtheproduct,poweritoffanddisconnectthepowercable.Useasoft
anddryclothtocleanthedevicecase.
lIftheproductisnotusedorbeforecleaningtheproduct,ensurethattheproductis
poweredoffandthepowercableisdisconnected.
BatteryUsageInstructions
lUsecorrectbatterymodelsandinstallthebatteriescorrectly .Improperbattery
replacementmaycauseanexplosion.
Note:
TheterminalusestheCR20323Vlithiumbatteries,andtheterminalcontrolusestwo AAAbatteries.
lIfthebatteriescannotbeinstalledinthedevicecorrectly ,donotsqueezethebatteries
hard.Otherwise,thebatteriesmayleakliquidorexplode.
lReplacethebatteriesimmediatelyiftheyleadliquid,smoke,oremitasmell. lDonotuseoldandnewbatteriestogether.Replaceallbatteriesatthesametime. lIfbatteryliquidstickstoyourskinorclothes,washitwithplentyofwaterandgotothe
hospitalformedicaltreatment.
lIfbatteryliquidsplashesintoyoureyes,donotrubyoureyes.Washthemwithplenty
ofwaterandgotothehospitalformedicaltreatment.
lTakebatteriesoutifyoudonotusethesystemforalongtime. lHandletheexhaustedbatteriesinaccordancewiththebatteryusageinstructions.
EnvironmentalProtection
Donotthrowabandoneddevicesintoatrashcan.Y oushouldcomplywiththelocal regulationsonequipmentpackagingmaterials,exhaustedbatteries,andreplaceddevices andsupportmaterialcollection.

shouldupgradetheroutersoftware.
lCongureQoSforvideoandordinaryservicesonrouterstoensurethatvideopackets
arenotdiscardedincaseofnetworkcongestion.
lCongureWorkModeoftheconnecteddeviceinaccordancewiththefollowing
requirements:
àWhenyouconnectaterminal,setthenetworkinterfacetoAuto,andsetthe
networkdeviceonthepeerendtoAutoaswell.Insomecases,bothendscan be(butnotrecommendedto)setto100M/Full-duplex.Neversetoneendto Autoandsettheotherendto100M/Full-duplex.
àBecausethenetworkinterfaceoftheMCUZXV10M9xxxissettoAutoandit
cannotbemodied,thenetworkinterfaceconnectedtotheZXV10M9xxxcanbe setonlytoAuto.
Notice!
Iftheterminal,MCU,andnetworkdevicearesettodifferentworkmodes,network packetsmaybelostinonedirection,andthevideoservicesareaffected.
Thesupplementaryrecommendationsareasfollows: lThenumberofroutehopsshouldbeasfewaspossible.Thenumberofroute
hopsshouldbereduced,becausetoomanytransmissionhopsmayaffectthevideo transmission.Thevideodeviceshouldbeconnectedtothemasterswitchingdevice.
lDifferentVLANsshouldbeusedtoisolatevideoconferenceservicesandother
services.
lIncaseofnetworkcongestion,thebuffersequenceshouldbeusedrst.Thelargerthe
buffer,thebetter,andthebuffershouldbeallocatedindependentlyforeachinterface.
FCCStatement
ThisequipmenthasbeentestedandfoundtocomplywiththelimitsforaClassAdigital device,pursuanttoPart15oftheFCCRules.Theselimitsaredesignedtoprovide reasonableprotectionagainstharmfulinterferencewhentheequipmentisoperatedin acommercialenvironment.Thisequipmentgenerates,uses,andcanradiateradio frequencyenergyand,ifnotinstalledandusedinaccordancewiththeinstructionmanual, maycauseharmfulinterferencetoradiocommunications.Operationofthisequipment inaresidentialareaislikelytocauseharmfulinterferenceinwhichcasetheuserwillbe requiredtocorrecttheinterferenceathisownexpense.
