Power Supply

The operating system must be shut down and the device must be
disconnected from the electrical supply during installation. If the
8580/90 Vehicle Mount Terminal is equipped with an optional UPS
battery, only open the IP65 cable cover after the power LED power
has turned off.

The Keypad Bracket can be installed on either side of
the 8580/90 vehicle mount terminal. Please refer to
instructions below for the installation procedure.

Standard Mount

assemble the Keypad
Bracket (D) loosely
the 8580/8590 Vehicle
Mount Terminal (F)
using the M8 x 16 mm
Hex screw (A) with
the M8 Spring Washer
(C). It must be
adjusted later (After
mounting the Numeric
24 Key Keypad (L)).

RAM Mount

For 8580/90 terminals
with the RAM Mount
(G) assemble the
Keypad Bracket (D)
loosely
8580/8590 Vehicle
Mount Terminal (F)
using the M8 x 12 mm
Hex screw (B) with
the M8 Spring
Washers (C) and also
insert the M6 x 10 mm
Hex screw (H) with
the M6 Flat Washer
(J). It must be
adjusted later (After

Step 2: Connect the USB Keypad cable to the 8580/90 Vehicle Mount Terminal.

Step 3:

Nuts (K). Torque to 9 lbf­in. See Figure 3.

Step 4: Adjust the

user(s) preference and
fully tighten as specified
for each mounting option
below.

Standard Mount:

Note: The numeric keyboard use a USB interface to connect to

the 8580/90 Vehicle Mount Terminal. This interface is protected
from atmospheric influences by an IP65 cable cover. The cable
cover must be removed and reinstalled correctly when connecting
the interface cables. Please ensure you attach the cable cover as per
8580/90 Vehicle Mount User Manual, see section 4.1 complying
with Protection Standards IP65. The protection class can no longer
be guaranteed if the cable cover is installed incorrectly.
