It is most important that this instruction book should be retained with the appliance for future reference. Should the appliance be sold or transferred to another owner, or should you move house and leave the appliance, always ensure that the book is left with the appliance in order that the new owner can get to know the functioning of the appliance and the relevant safety information.

This information has been provided in the interest of safety.You MUST read it carefully before installing or using the appliance.

Installation

• This appliance is heavy. Care should be taken when moving it.

• It is dangerous to alter the specifications or attempt to modify this product in any way.

• Care must be taken to ensure that the appliance does not stand on the electrical supply cable. Important: if the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a special cable available from your local Service Force Centre.

• Any electrical work required to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person.

• Parts which heat up should not be exposed. The back of the appliance should be close to a solid wall but leaving the required distance for ventilation as stated in the installation instructions.

• The appliance should be left for 2 hours after installation before it is turned on, in order to allow the refrigerant to settle.

Child Safety

• Do not allow children to tamper with the controls or play with the product.

• Keep all packaging well away from children.

General Safety

• This appliance contains hydrocarbons in its cooling unit; maintenance and recharging must therefore only be carried out by authorised technicians.

• Take utmost care when handling your appliance so as not to cause any damages to the cooling unit with consequent possible fluid leakages.

• The appliance must not be located close to cookers, radiators or boilers.

• Avoid prolonged exposure of the appliance to direct sunlight.

• Do not use other electrical appliances (such as ice cream makers) inside of refrigerating appliances.

During Use

• This appliance is designed for domestic use only, specifically for the storage of edible foodstuffs.

• Frozen food must NOT be re-frozen once it has thawed out.

• Do not place carbonated or fizzy drinks in the freezer.

• Do not remove items from the freezer if your hands are damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or frost/freezer burns.

• Ice lollies can cause ‘frost/freezer burns’ if consumed straight from the freezer.

• Manufacturers’ storage recommendations should be strictly adhered to. Refer to relevant instructions.

• The cooling plate or refrigerated freezer shelves in this appliance contain channels through which the refrigerant passes. If these are punctured this will cause substantial damage to the appliance and result in food loss. DO NOT USE SHARP INSTRUMENTS to scrape off frost or ice. Under NO circumstances should solid ice be forced off the lining or shelves. Solid ice should be allowed to thaw, when defrosting the appliance. See Defrost Instructions.

Maintenance and Cleaning

• Switch off and unplug the appliance before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance work.

Servicing

• This product should be serviced by an authorised engineer and only genuine spare parts should be used.

• Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the machine yourself. Repairs carried out by inexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunctioning. Refer to your local Service Force Centre and always insist on genuine spare parts.

At the end of the Appliance Life

• When disposing of your appliance, use an authorised disposal site.

• Remove the plug and ensure that any locks or catches are removed, to prevent young children being trapped inside.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Building the appliance in

• Fit the appliance into the recess.

• Rotate the bracket of 180° in order to obtain the right position ( 2). The position (1) is on the delivery.

• Fix it to a solid wall with the appropriate bracket.

Disposal of old Appliances

The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By ensuring this product is disposed of correctly, you will help prevent potential negative consequences for the environment and human health, which could otherwise be caused by inappropriate waste handling of this product. OPERATION

Before using

Remove all securing tapes. Wash inside the appliance with lukewarm water and bicarbonate of soda (5 ml to 0.5 litre of water).

Do not use soap or detergent as the smell may linger. Dry thoroughly.

ON: Press the button (B). The pilot light (A)

illuminates.

OFF: Keep the button (B) until the pilot light (A) and

the temperature indicator switches off.

Attention!

During the initial stabilising period the temperature displayed cannot correspond to the requested temperature.

D.Temperature display

During normal use the display shows the temperature inside the freezer.

Attention!

A difference between the temperature display and temperature setting is normal. Especially when:

- a new setting has recently been selected

- the door has been left open for a long time

- warm food has been placed in the compartment.

C - E. Temperature setting buttons

The temperature can be adjusted between -15°C and -24°C.

By pressing the button (C or E), the current temperature setting flashes in the display. It is only possible to modify the temperature with the indicator flashing. To set a warmer temperature, press button (C). To set a colder temperature, press button (E). The indicator displays the newly selected temperature for a few seconds and then shows again the internal compartment temperature.

The newly selected-temperature should be reached within 24 hours.

Storage of frozen food

When first starting-up or after a period out of use, before putting the products in the compartment let the appliance run for at least two hours on the Fast Freeze setting, then push the Fast Freeze button again.

Do not exceed the storage period indicated by the manufacturer.

Finally, do not open the door frequently or leave it open longer than is absolutely necessary.

Warning

Do not put carbonated liquids, (fizzy drinks etc.), in the freezer compartment.

Ice lollies, if consumed immediately after removal from the freezer, can cause low temperature skin burns.

Do not remove items from the freezer if your hands are damp/wet, as this could cause skin abrasions or “frost/freezer burns”.

Important

In the event of a power cut the food in the freezer will not be affected if the power cut is short and if the freezer is full. Do not open the door. Should the food begin to thaw, it must be consumed quickly and must not be re-frozen .

In the event of an abnormal temperature rise inside the freezer (e.g. power cut) warning light (F) will start to flash and a buzzer will sound.

After the temperature has returned to normal, the warning light (F) will continue to flash, although the buzzer has stopped.

When the alarm button (G) is pressed, the warmest temperature reached in the compartment flashes in the display (D).

Operation

Insert the plug in the power socket. Press the button ON/OFF (B). The freezer is switched on.

The freezer is pre-set to run at -18°C. This temperature will be reached in a few hours.

As soon as the appliance is switched on the temperature indicator (D) shows the current temperature inside the freezer, the alarm reset light (F) flashes and a buzzer sounds. Press the alarm reset button (G). The buzzer stops and the alarm light (F) continues to flash until the requested temperature is reached.

H. Fast Freeze pilot light

I. Fast Freeze button

To freeze fresh foods, the “Fast freeze” function must be actived. Press the fast freeze button (I).The relevant pilot light (H) illuminates.When this function is on, SP is shown in the display .

The function can be deactived at any time, by pressing the button (I), otherwise it automatically switches off.With the function deactived the pilot light (H) switches off.

Freezing fresh food

To freeze fresh food, press the Fast Freeze button (I) at least 24 hours before.

Place the food to be frozen in the fast freeze compartment. The maximum quantity of food which can be frozen in 24 hrs. is shown on the rating plate.

Warning!

When to use the “Fast Freeze” function:

Thawing

Frozen food, prior to being used, can be thawed in the fridge or at room temperature depending on the time available. Small food items may even be cooked from frozen; in this case cooking will take longer.

Any frozen food which is allowed to thaw accidentally should either be eaten as soon as possible or thrown away. Alternatively, if the food is uncooked and has not been completely defrosted it can be cooked and then refrozen.

Meat, fish and fruit should be thawed in the refrigerator compartment and small pieces of meat can even be cooked while still frozen, but you must ensure that it is thoroughly cooked through.

Vegetables should be directly immersed in boiling water; ready-cooked dishes can be placed directly in the oven in their aluminium wrapping.

A microwave oven is particularly suitable for thawing any type of frozen or deep-frozen food: follow the oven instructions, particularly regarding the placement of aluminium wrapping or containers in the oven.

Defrosted cooked food must never be refrozen.

Making ice cubes

The appliance is provided with one or more trays for ice-cubes.

Fill the tray(s) 3/4 full to give the ice space to expand and place them in the freezer compartment.

To release the ice cubes simply give the tray a slight twist.

Do not use sharp or metallic instruments to remove the trays from the freezer.

Freezer compartment

• If food is to be frozen immediately after having installed the appliance or after a prolonged period out of use, push the button (I) and allow the appliance to run for at least 4 hours before placing the food in it.

If the freezer is already operating, with food inside it, push the button (I) 24 hours before loading food to be frozen.

• The alarm light indicates when the temperature inside the freezer compartment has risen to a point at which safe storage of frozen foods can no longer be guaranteed. When the appliance is first started up, or after having loaded a quantity of food to be frozen, this warning light will stay or until a safe storage temperature has been reached.

• Products to be frozen should be placed in the fast freeze compartment and, once frozen, moved to the storage baskets.

• The maximum freezing capacity is 13 kg in 24 hours. Do not freeze more than this quantity at a time.

Useful hints for freezing

• Products to be frozen should be fresh and clean.

• Pack foods in suitable family portions which can be used up all at once.

• Small packs allow fast and uniform freezing.

• Lean foods keep better and longer than fatty foods. Salt reduces the storage life of food.

• Wrap foods closely in aluminium foil or plastic bags or film, and make sure they are properly sealed.

• Attach a label to each pack, indicating the contents and the date on which it was prepared.

• Never place hot foods, bottles or containers with fizzy drinks in the freezer (they could explode).

• Do not fill containers with lids right to the brim.

• Do not add more food or open the doors during the freezing process.

• Never place food to be frozen in contact with already frozen food, as this would increase the temperature of the latter.

ON: Press the button (K). The pilot light (J)

switches on.

OFF: Keep the button (K) pressed until the pilot light

(J) and the temperature indicator switches off.

L - N. Temperature setting buttons

The temperature can be adjusted between +2°C and +8°C.

By pressing the button (L or N), the current temperature setting flashes in the indicator panel. It is only possible to modify the setting temperature only with the indicator flashing. To set a warmer temperature, press button (L). To set a colder temperature, press button (N). The indicator panel displays the newly selected temperature for a few seconds and then shows again the internal compartment temperature.

The newly selected-temperature should be reached after 24 hours.

Attention!

During the initial stabilising period the temperature displayed cannot correspond to the requested temperature. During this time it is possible that the temperature displayed is lower than the actual temperature.

M. Temperature indicator

During normal operation the indicator shows the temperature inside the fridge.

Attention!

A difference between the temperature displayed and temperature setting is normal. Especially when:

- a new setting has recently been selected

Use of the refrigerator

- the door has been left open for a long time

- warm food has been placed in the compartment

O. Super Cooling pilot light

P. Super Cooling button

The maximum performance is obtained by setting the Super Cooling function. It’s recommended when loading large quantities of food.

Press the Super Cooling button (P).The relevant pilot light (O) illuminates.

The internal temperature goes down to +2°C.

After about 6 hours the Super Cooling function switches off automatically.

Q. Dynamic Air Cooling light

The D.A.C. light is on by pushing the D.A.C. button.
