Warning

It is most important that this instruction book should be retained with the appliance for future reference. This appliance has been designed to be operated by adults and children under supervision. Young children
MUST NOT be allowed to tamper with the controls or
play near or with the oven.
This appliance has been designed for cooking edible foodstuff only and MUST NOT be used for any other purposes.
It is dangerous to alter the specification in any way.
For hygiene and safety reasons, this appliance should be kept clean at all times. A build-up of fats or other foodstuff could result in a fire.
Accessible parts of this appliance may become hot when it is in use. Children should be KEPT AWAY until it has cooled.
Under no circumstances should you attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Repairs carried out by unexperienced persons may cause injury or serious malfunctioning. Refer to your local Zanussi Service Centre. Always insist on genuine Zanussi spare parts.
Ensure the oven pilot lamp is off when the oven
is not in use.
Should you connect any electrical tool to a plug near this cooking appliance, ensure that electric cables are not in contact with it and keep them far enough from the heated parts of this appliance.
If the appliance is out of order, disconnect it from the electric supply.
Do not leave untensils containing foodstuffs, e. g. fat or oil in or on the appliance. This could cause damage in case the appliance is inadvertently switched on.
About Installation, Cleaning and Manteinance
It is mandatory that all operations required for the installation are carried out by a qualified or competent person, in accordance with existing rules and regulations.
Disconnect the appliance from the electrical supply, before carrying out any cleaning or manteinance work.
Once you removed all packaging from the appliance, ensure that it is not damaged and the electric cable is in perfect conditions. Otherwise, contact your dealer before proceeding with the installation.
The manufacturer disclaims any responsability should all the safety measures not be carried out.
OVEN DOOR PROTECTION DEVICE
(MOD. ZHM 733 X) All our appliances comply with the European Safety
Standards. Nevertheless, in order to ensure the highest safety level, and avoid little children to be exposed to the heat when the appliance is operated, it is possible to fit a special protection device to the oven door. This device can be purchased in our Service Force Centres, specifying the relevant code (35791) and the Product No. shown on the rating plate.

HOTPLATE CONTROL KNOBS
The Control Knobs for the hotplates (Fig. 1) can be found on the Oven Control Panel. The energy regulator of the hotplates can be set by means of a 3 position control knob. 0 = OFF 1 = MINIMUM 3 = MAXIMUM The intermediate positions give an increasing heating power.
Carefully supervise cookings with fats or oil, since these types of foodstuff can result in a fire, when over-
heated.
NOTE
In the event of a power f ailure, the programmer will k eep all the settings (time of day , progr am setting or program in operation) for about 10 minutes. If power misses for a longer time, all the settings will be cancelled. When the power is restored, the numbers on the display will flash, and the clock/timer has to be reset.

HOW TO SELECT A COOKING FUNCTION
— Set the oven on by pressing button 1 — Press button 2 to select the required oven function.
Each time button 2 is depressed, a pilot light will come on to the left of the currently selected function symbol. Here below is a list of the function symbols and their meaning.
Fan cooking - This setting allows you to roast or roast and bake simoultaneously using any shelf, without flavour transference.
Conventional cooking - The heat comes from both the top and bottom element, ensuring even heating inside the oven.
Double Grill - The full grill element will be on. Recommended for large meat dishes.
Pizza Oven - The bottom element provides direct heat to the base of pizzas, quiches or pies, while the fan ensure air is circulated to cook the pizza toppings or pie fillings.
Thermal Grilling - This function offers an alter­native method of cooking food items, normally associated with conventional grilling. The grill element and the oven fan operate together, circulating hot air around the food. Select a
maximum temperature of 200°C. Baking Function - The top and bottom
elements heat the oven cavity and the fan circulates hot air around your dishes. Best for baking cakes, biscuits or bread.
Bottom heating element - The heat comes from the bottom of the oven only, to allow you finish your dishes.
Inner grill element only - can be used for grilling small quantities.
HOW TO SELECT A TEMPERATURE
Every time you select a cooking function, a pre-set temperature is displayed on the control panel. You can adjust the temperature value at any time of cooking.
— Press button 5 or 6 to adjust the temperature. You can also get the current internal temperature by
pressing button 4.
HOW TO SWITCH OFF THE OVEN
It is possible to switch off the oven at any time. — Press button 1 once. All pilot lights will come off. The
control panel will display the time of day only.

"FAST HEAT UP" FUNCTION
After a cooking function has been selected and the temperature has been adjusted, the cavity will gradually heat up until the selected temperature is reached. This will take from 10 to 15 minutes, depending on selected function and temperature. If it is necessary to reach the required temperature in a shorter time, the "Fast Heat Up" Function can be used.
1) Switch the oven on by pressing button 1.
2) Set the required cooking function and temperature as explained in the previous pages.
3) Press button once. The temperature display will show "FHU".
4) When the required temperature is reached, an acoustic alarm will sound for a short time, and the temperature display will revert to the set temperature.
This function can be used with any cooking function or temperature.
DEFROSTING FUNCTION
It is possible for the oven fan to operate without heat and circulate the air, at low temperature, inside the oven. This increases the speed of defrosting.
1) Switch the oven on by pressing button 1.
2) Press button twice. The temperature display will show "32". This temperature setting cannot be
changed.
3) To switch the "defrost" function off, just press button
once again. The oven will switch off, and the
display will only show the time of day.
This function is particularly suitable for defrosting delicate food which could be damaged by heat, e.g. cream filled gateaux, iced cakes, pastries, bread and other yeast products.
