humming sounds.
3 Do not expose this unit to sudden temperature changes from cold to hot, and do not
locate this unit in an environment with high humidity (i.e. a room with a humidi er) to
prevent condensation inside this unit, which may cause an electrical shock, re, damage
to this unit, and/or personal injury.
4 Avoid installing this unit where foreign objects may fall onto this unit and/or this unit
may be exposed to liquid dripping or splashing. On the top of this unit, do NOT place:
– Other components, as they may cause damage and/or discoloration on the surface
of this unit.

When a cart is used, use caution when moving the

safe level. One that lets the sound come through loud and clear without
annoying blaring or distortion - and, most importantly, without a ecting
your sensitive hearing. Since hearing damage from loud sounds is o en
undetectable until it is too late, Yamaha and the Electronic Industries
Association’s Consumer Electronics Group recommend you to avoid
prolonged exposure from excessive volume levels. Operate this unit by the
following procedure.
11 Do not attempt to modify or x this unit. Contact quali ed Yamaha service personnel
when any service is needed. e cabinet should never be opened for any reason.
12 When not planning to use this unit for long periods of time (i.e. when going on
vacation), disconnect all AC plugs from the wall outlet.
13 Be sure to read the “TROUBLESHOOTING” section regarding common operating
errors before concluding that the unit is faulty.
14 Before moving this unit, disconnect all AC plugs from the wall outlets.
15 Be sure to use the AC adaptors supplied with this unit. Using an AC adaptor other than
those provided may cause re or damage to this unit.
16 Install this unit near the wall outlet and where the AC plugs can be reached easily.
17 For added protection for this product during a lightning storm, or when it is le
unattended and unused for long periods of time, unplug it from the wall outlet. is

Inserting an iPod dock adaptor
Insert the iPod dock adaptor supplied with your iPod into the slot of the speaker.
Depending on the type of your iPod, you may need to insert one of the iPod dock adaptors
supplied with this unit. See the “Quick Manual” for details on how to insert/remove the
iPod dock adaptor.
1 Insert the stoppers of the iPod dock adaptor into the slits on
the slot of the speaker.

2 Insert the iPod dock adaptor until it snaps into the slot of the
speaker.

When you remove the iPod dock adaptor from the speaker, insert one of your nger
nails into the slit on the iPod dock adaptor and pull it up.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Refer to the table below if the unit does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below, or if the instruction below does not help, turn o this unit, disconnect
the power cable, and contact the nearest authorized Yamaha dealer or service center.

e speaker is connected to another unit. Select a di erent group by changing the group selection
switch of the speaker and transmitter.
e speaker and transmitter are not connected since they
are set to di erent groups.
Set both the speaker and transmitter to the same group.

ere is a device (microwave oven, wireless LAN, etc.)

metallic objects, etc.
Change the way of holding, the orientation, or the position
of the transmitter to avoid your body or metallic objects
blocking the signal.
e power of the speaker is o . Connect the AC adaptor correctly.
e battery of the iPhone/iPod is low. Charge the iPhone/iPod.
e volume is turned down. Turn up the volume.
e iPhone/iPod is in the process of connecting with the
speaker.
Please wait for a while.
e protection circuitry has been activated by excessive
volume.
Turn down the volume.
Cannot change the volume by changing the
volume of the iPhone/iPod.
e iPhone/iPod in use is not supported by this unit, is not
connected correctly, or its rmware version is out of date.
Use the supported iPhone/iPod.
Connect the iPhone/iPod rmly.
Update the iPhone/iPod rmware version to the latest.
The iPhone/iPod display does not change by
pressing the remote control volume keys.
The unit cannot be operated by the remote
control.
You are trying to control the iPhone/iPod connected to the
transmitter by the remote control.
iPhone/iPod remote control operation is only possible
when connected to the dock terminal.
The power of the speaker does not turn o
after the iPhone/iPod is disconnected from
the transmitter.
e speaker is connected to another unit. Change the group setting.
Suddenly the speaker produces sound even
though an iPhone/iPod is not connected.
When iPhone/iPods are connected to both
the transmitter and dock terminal at the same
time, the sound of the iPhone/iPod connected
to the dock terminal will not be heard.
When the iPhone/iPods are connected to both the
transmitter and the dock terminal, the iPhone/iPod
connected to the transmitter has priority.
To hear sound from the iPhone/iPod connected to the
dock terminal, disconnect the iPhone/iPod from the
transmitter.
There is noise interference (e.g., jitter) when
using the transmitter.
If noise occurs at the same frequency the transmitter is
using, the unit will search and move to another (unused)
frequency, which may cause jitter.

the unit or connect the iPhone/iPod to the dock terminal.
