INTRODUCTION

Thank you for purchasing the Yamaha HI-HAT CONTROL PEDAL HH80. The HH80 is a hi-hat type control pedal
developed for electronic drum systems. By combining this with the Yamaha DTX drum trigger module, it is

possible to perform a wide variety of trigger functions.
This manual is designed to help you make full use of all the functions of the HH80. Once you have read this, keep
this manual in a safe place for future reference.

Wir danken Ihnen für den Kauf des Yamaha HI-HAT CONTROL PEDAL HH80. Bei dem HH80 handelt es sich um
ein HiHat-Steuerpedal für elektronische Schlagzeugsysteme. Bei kombiniertem Einsatz mit dem Yamaha DTX
Drum-Trigger-Modul steht eine Vielzahl von Trigger-Funktionen zur Verfügung.
Diese Anleitung soll Ihnen dabei helfen, alle Funktionen des HH80 voll auszunutzen. Bewahren Sie diese
Anleitung nach dem Durchlesen für spätere Bezugnahme an einem sicheren Ort auf.

INTRODUCTION

Merci de votre achat de la PEDALE DE CONTROLE DE CHARLESTON HH80 de Yamaha. La HH80 est une
pédale de contrôle de type hi-hat, mise au point pour des systèmes de batterie électroniques. En combinant cet
élément avec le module déclencheur de batterie DTX de Yamaha, il est possible d'exécuter une large gamme de
fonctions de déclenchement.
Ce fascicule a été rédigé pour vous aider à tirer pleinement parti de toutes les fonctions de votre HH80. Après
l'avoir lu, consen/ez-le dans un endroit sûr afin de pouvoir vous y référer ultérieurement.

INTRODUCCIÓN

Muchas gracias por la compra de un pedal de control de platillo doble Yamaha HH80. El HH80 es un pedal de
control de platillo doble desarrollado para sistemas de batería electrónica. Su combinación con el módulo de
activación de batería Yamaha DTX hace posible la ejecución de una gran variedad de funciones de activación.
Este manual ha sido confeccionado para ayudarle a sacar el mayor provecho posible de todas las funciones que
el HH80 ofrece. Guárdelo siempre en un lugar seguro, por si lo llega a necesitar en el futuro.

■Setting up the HH80
1 .Stand the HH80 upright as shown. (Fig. 1)

2. Fix the bolt on the HH80 to the bolt

hole on the base plate. (Slide towards
the direction of the arrow.) (Fig.2)

Set the angle of the pedal correctly as

shown below. (Fig. 3)

3. Screw the bolt tightly using the
hexagon wrench included in this kit.
(Fig. 4)

■Adjusting the Pedai Stroke

Adjust tne pedal stroke to your
preference.
The pedal stroke will change depending
on where the adjustment bolt is fixed.
When the fixed position is high, the
pedal step is deep (needs to be stepped
on strongly) and when the fixed position

low, the pedal step is shallow.

Choose the position of your preference
and screw the adjustment nut on tightly.
(Fig. 5)

■ Adjusting the Tension of the Spring

Adjust the tension of the soring (pedal
weight) to your preference.
The tension becomes strong when the
adjustment nut is twisted to the right, and
becomes weak when the adjustment nut
is twisted to the left. (Fig. 6)

■ Non-slide Spur

Prevent the pedal from sliding during
your performance by twisting the spur to
the right until the tip of the spur reaches
the floor. (Fig. 7)

NOTE: The non-slide spur may scratch
the floor. Be sure to make precautions
to prevent floor scratches.

■Connecting the HH80 to the DTX

Be sure to connect the HH80 to the DTX
before turning the DTX ON. The
open/close action of the hi-hat may
reverse unless the connection is made
previous to turning the power ON.

/. Das HH80 aufrecht stellen, wie in der

2. Die Befestigungsscnrauben des HH80
auf die Schraubenlochei in der
Bodenpiatte ausnchten und einsetzen. (in
Pteiirichtung schieben.) (Abb. 2)

Den Winkel des Pedals richtig einstellen,

wie unten gezeigt. (Abb. 3)

3. Die Schrauben mit dem mitgelieferten
inbusschlussel fest anziehen. (Abb. 4)

■Einstellen des Pedalhubs

Der Pedalhub (Pedalweg) kann stufenlos
eingestellt werden.
Der Pedalhub ändert sich mit der Position
der Einstellschraube
Je hoher die Position der
Einstellschraube ist, desto größer wird
der Pedalhub,
Wählen Sie Ihre bevorzugte Position, und
ziehen Sie die Einstellschraube fest an,
(Abb. 5)

■ Einstellen der Federspannung

Die Pedalfederspannung (Druckkraft)
kann der Bevorzugung des leweiligen
Benutzers angepaßt werden.
Drehen Sie die Einstellmutter nacti
recnts, um die Spannung zu erhöhen,
und nach links, um die Spannung zu
verringern (Abb. 6)

■Arretierdorn

Um ein Verrutschen des Pedals wahrend
des Gebrauchs zu verhindern, drehen
Sie den Dorn nach rechts, bis seine
Spitze den Boden erreicht. (Abb. 7)

HINWEIS: Der Arretierdorn kann den
Boden verkratzen. Ergreifen Sie
entsprechende Schutzmaßnahmen, um

Verkratzen des Bodens zu vermeiden.

■Anschlußhinweis

Achten Sie unbedingt darauf, das DTX
erst nach dem Anschluß des HH80
einzuschalten. Der Auf/Zu-Effekt des
HIHat kann sich umkehren, wenn der
Anschluß nicht vor dem Einschalten der
Stromversorgung vorgenommen wird.

■Installation du HH80

1. Montez le HH80 comme illustré, (fig. 1 )

2. Fixez le boulon du HH80 sur le trou de
boulon de la plaque de base. (Glissez
dans le sens de la flèche.) (fig. 2)

Réglez correctement l'angle de la pédale
comme indique ci-après, (fig. 3)

3. Serrez le boulon à tond en utilisant la
clé hexagonale, fournie avec ce kit,(fig. 4)

■Réglage de la course de pédale

Ajustez la course de la pédalé selon vos
préférences. La course change selon
l'endroit où est fixe le bouton de réglage.
Si la position de fixation est haute, la
course est profonde (il faut appuyer plus
fort) et si la position est basse, la course
est moins profonde.
Choisissez la position qui vous convient
et serrer à fond l'écrou de réglage.(fig. 5)

■ Réglage de la tension du ressort

Ajustez la tension du ressort (resistance
de la pédalé) selon vos préférences.
La tension devient plus forte si l'écrou de
réglage est tourne vers la droite: elle
devient plus légère par une rotation de
l'écrou vers la gauche.(fig, 6)

■ Ergot antl-glissement

Evitez Que la pédale ne glisse pendant
l'interprétation en tournant l'ergot vers la
droite jusqu'à ce que son extrémité
touche le sol.(fig. 7)

REMARQUE: l'ergot anti-glissemeni
peut griffer le plancher. Prenez donc les
precautions nécessaires pour éviter des
griffes.

■ Branchement de la HH80 au DTX

Veillez à raccorder la HH80 sur le DTX
avant de mettre ce dernier sous tension
(ON). L'ouverlure/fermeture peut être
inversée si la connexion n'est pas
eftectuée avant la mise sous tension.

1. Levante el HH80 del modo ilustrado a

continuación, (Fig, 1)

2. Inserte el perno del FIH80 en el
agujero que se encuentra en el platillo
inferior (deslizar en la dirección de la
flecha). (Fig. 2)

Ajuste el ángulo del pedal como es
debido, de) modo que se ilustra a
continuación, (Fig. 3)

3. Atornille el perno con fuerza utilizando
la llave hexagonal que viene con este kit.
(Fig. 4)

■Ajuste de la carrera del pedal

Ajuste la carrera del pedal según sus
preferencias.
La carrera del pedal varia según la posición
en la que se ponga el perno de ajuste.
Cuando se pone en la posiaón superior, el
pedal tiene una camera larga (debe pisarse
con fuerza) y cuando se pone en la posición
inferior, la carrera del pedal es corta.
Elija la posición que desee y apriete la

tuerca de ajuste con fuerza. (Fig. 5)

■Ajuste de la tensión del resorte

Ajuste la tensión del resorte (el peso del
pedal) según sus preferencias.
La tensión aumenta cuando se gira la
tuerca de ajuste hacia la derecha y
disminuye cuando se gira la tuerca de
ajuste hacia la izquierda. (Fig. 6)

■ Uña antideslizamiento

Evita que el pedal resbale durante las
interpretaciones. La uña gira hacia la
derecha hasta que la punta llega al piso.
(Fig. 7)

NOTA: La uña antideslizamiento puede

dejar marcas en el piso. Tome las
precauciones necesarias para que ello no
suceda.

■Conexión del HH80 al DTX

Asegúrese de conectar el HH80 al DTX
antes de encender el DTX, La acción de
apertura/cierre del platillo doble puede
invertirse si no se hace la conexión antes
de encender el DTX.
