Secure template to frame with tape. Using a bradawl mark all centres (+). Then remove template.

Fold dotted line along door edge to mark key hole

Place this edge on height line

Drill 6 holes Ø16 mm

For 64mm (2.5”) lock drill holes ‘A’

For 76mm (3”) lock drill holes ‘B’

Chisel out remaining timber between drill holes.

Using the centreline guide and height guide, tape templates to door.

Mark the centres of all holes with a bradawl then remove template.

Mark centreline of door and frame.

At required height mark a horizontal line on door and frame.
