1. Double-click NuApps-QoS-RM installation
program and start the installation process*.
2. InstallShield Wizard is starting to install
NuApps-QoS-RM. If you would like to cancel
installation, click “Cancel”.
3. Click “Next” to continue installation.
*Note: Due to different Operating System or system settings, warning messages might pop up when
installing NuApps-QoS-RM or driver for your device. When this occurs, please choose the options on
these pop-up warning messages that allow you to continue installing NuApps-QoS-RM or device

If your PC is not connected with NuStreams-2000i/600i, you can still run NuApps-QoS-RM under Demo
Mode. Almost all NuApps-QoS-RM’s functions are available under Demo Mode. However, please note
that Demo Mode is for system demo purposes only, and does not serve any testing purposes at all.

Please follow the steps down below to start NuApps-QoS-RM and NuServer properly.
Starting NuServer
When starting NuApps-QoS-RM, a “Connect
to NuServer” window will pop up and asked
how you are going to connect to NuServer.
zLocal Host: Choose this option when
you-re running NuApps-QoS-RM from
NuStreams-2000i IPC module or a PC
that’s connected to NuStreams-2000i/600i
via an RJ45 cable.
zRemote Host:Choose this option when
you’re running NuApps-QoS-RM from
other PC located on the network. Choose
the IP address which is assigned from
NuStreams-2000i/600i from the
scroll-down menu, choose demo to enter
NuApps-QoS-RM’s Demo Mode.
zConnect/Cancel:Click the
Connect/Cancel button to connect to
NuStreams-2000i/600i or cancel starting
NuApps-QoS-RM.
If you choose the Local Host option, a
“NuServer-NIC Information” window will pop
up. Please select the NIC (Network Interface
Card) which is connected to
NuStreams-2000i/600i’s from the Network Interface Information table, and click OK.
NuServer will connect to the daughter boards,
and NuApps-QoS-RM will start as well.
You now have access to NuApps-QoS-RM’s
main display window.

Starting NuServer
If an error message window pops up and
says “Detecting NuServer System Fail”,
please close NuApps-QoS-RM and
NuServer, and start again.
After starting NuApps-QoS-RM, a Select Config window will pop up. You have to reserve ports on module
cards before performing tests with NuApps-QoS-RM. Please follow the steps down below and make the
proper configurations for NuApps-QoS-RM.
Port Reserving
As mentioned above, you have to reserve ports
on module cards before performing tests with
NuApps-QoS-RM. You can do so by either
choosing Open an Existing Configuration or by
Create a New Configuration.
If you have a previously saved configuration file
stored in your PC, you can load it and apply all
the setting you’ve made by choosing “Open an Existing Configuration” from the Select
Config pop-up window.
Configuration files are saved in the format of
“*.xml”, and are named with Tester Name, DUT
Name, and the date/time when the files are
created.

4.8. Port Configuration
Settings such as port transmitting rate, auto-negotiation, and protocol are available and can be configured
on the Port Configuration displayed on the Main Display Screen.
There are two ways to access Port Config:

The Port Configuration contains two different sets of settings: Port and Protocol, which can be

¾ Protocol: Allows you to set each port’s protocol Layer 2, enable/disable VLAN, VID, CFI, Priority and
others functions.

Port
¾Port No. /Card Type: These two fields display each port’s Port ID and the model name of its module
card.
¾ Stream No. : The name of the different Stream.
¾ Alias: You can input alias for identifying active ports here in these fields.
¾ Speed: The Speed scroll-down menu allows you to set each port’s transmitting/receiving rate.
¾ Duplex: You can set the port as Full-Duplex or Half-Duplex with the scroll-down menu. Note that the
Duplex can only be set when the speed is 10M/100M.
¾Auto Negotiate: By clicking the scroll-down menu, you can choose mode Auto (with
auto-negotiation) or Force (without auto-negotiation).
¾ Port IP: Set the module card’s Port IP in this field.
¾ Gateway IP: Set the module card’s Gateway IP in this field.
¾ IP Mask: Set the module card’s IP Mask in this field.

Protocol
¾ Port No. : This field displays each port’s Port ID.
¾ Port MAC: These fields display the MAC addresses of all ports.
¾ Enable VLAN:VLAN (Virtual LAN) is a group of hosts with common requirements that
communicate within the same Broadcast domain regardless of the physical location. By enabling
the VLAN, you can change settings of the following options:
zVID: Virtual ID, an ID number for identifying different virtual LANs on the network. You can set
the VID for each port.
zCFI: Canonical Format Indicator, a 1-bit field in frames for compatibilities of Ethernet and
Token Ring networks.
zPriority: VLAN Priority (IEEE P802.1p) indicates the priority level of frames transmitted from
each port.
¾ Precedence: You can modify this setting as 000-Routine ~111-Network Control.
¾ ToS: Type of Service, you can modify this setting as 0000-Normal~1000-Min Delay.
¾ Class Sel. : You can modify this setting as Class 0~7 to order priority.
¾ Drop Prob. : You can modify this setting as Low, Medium and High to filter the quality of packets.
¾ Protocol: You may modify protocol to Layer2 test, Layer3-ToS test, Layer3-Diff test, wherein,
choosing Layer3-ToS allows you to modify Precedence and ToS, and if choosing Layer3-Diff
allows you to modify Class Sel. and Drop Prob..
¾ Apply: Press “Apply” button to save your settings.

4.9.1. Pairing/Assigning Test Ports
Before making any test configurations on the Test Configuration screen, you have to make the proper
port pairing/assigning first. NuApps-QoS-RM has 2 different test modes available: One-One and Many-
Many.
To access these 2 test modes, please click the scroll-down menu located on the upper-right part of
NuApps-QoS-RM’s window as shown in the figure down below.
Also, set the direction of source port to destination port by clicking the scroll-down menu located
down part of the scroll where you chose the One-One and Many-Many mode.
If you want to reset all settings you’ve done for NuApps-QoS-RM’s test mode back to the default value,
please press the Reset button located next to the scroll-down menu.
Please see the sections down below for more information regarding to pair/assign ports in different test
modes.

One-One
In One to One test mode, packets will be sent from one source port (A) to one destination port (B) as
shown in the figure above.

1. Choose a port that will serve as the source
port from the Source Ports field.

destination port from the Destination Ports

3. Click the > button to add the port pair you
set in step1-2.
Note: If you click the >> button, the system will

The results, statics and charts are displayed and can be checked on the Main Display Screen. There are
two ways to view Report:
