co nnect ed equip ment to u tility power vi a a bypas s switch , permitting sc hedul ed
ma inten ance or UP S repla cement w ithou t power in terrup tion.

Remove the uni t from th e s hippi ng pack a ge and in spect it for dam a ge
th at may occurre d durin g tran s porta tion. No tify t he carri er and pla ce
of p urcha se if any d amage i s found .
Connec t to the W all Outlet
Pl ug the in put powe r cord of t he unit to the wal l o utlet .
Connec t UPS
Co nnect a p ower cor d from U PS input t o UPS inp ut socket on the un it. Use p rovid ed
po wer cor d to conn e ct UPS ou tput to U P S outpu t socke t on the un i t.

Transf er to Ma intenance B ypas s
Be fore transferrin g to main t enanc e bypas s , make s u re the ut ility i s norma l.
Trans fer the rotary b ypass s w itch fr om “Nor mal” to “B ypass ”. At th is time , all
co nnect ed devic es are po wered b y the util ity pow er dire ctly. You may tur n off the
UP S and dis connec t two cab les conn ectin g to UPS. T hen you m ay now se rvice th e UPS.
Transf er to UP S Protectio n
Af ter mai ntenan ce serv i ce is don e, make s ure the U PS operation i s normal . Then,
reconne ct UPS to t he unit by follow ing Ins tallat ion Sect ion. Th en tra nsfer t he rotar y
by pass sw itch fr om “Bypa ss” to “N o rmal”. Now, all co nnecte d devic e s are protecte d
by U PS.
