1Introduction
Thank you for p urch asing the XPower Po cket Invert er
175. The XPower inverter is part of a family of advanced high-performa nce power inv erters from Xantrex, the leader in high-frequency inverter design.
Connected to the 12 vol t outlet in your vehicle, the XPower inverter efficien tly and r eliably po w ers a wide variety of loads through both the AC outlet and USB port.
The XPower inverter uses reliable solid state power electronics for years of safe, trouble-free operation and includes automatic safety monitoring circuitry to protec t it, and your battery, from inadvertent overload conditions.
Read this guide before connecting or using the XPower inverter, and save i t for future reference. The main to pics in the gui de are:

WARNING
The XPower inverter housing may become uncom forta bl y wa rm, r ea chi ng 140 ° F (6 0° C) u nde r extended high power oper ation . Durin g operat ion, keep it away from materials that may be affected by high temperat ures.
WARNING
Do not use the XPower inverter in the presence of flam m able f umes or gases, such as i n the bilge of a gasoline powered boat, or near propane tanks. Do not use the XPower inverter in an enclo sure containing auto motive-type, lead-acid batteri es. These batt eries , unlike sealed batter ies, vent explosive hydrog en gas, which can be ignited by sparks from electrical connections.

WARNING: Shock hazard
Use caution when inserting an AC plug into the three-prong AC outlet. The prongs of an AC plug can become bent from misuse. If an AC plug is improperl y ins erted into the AC outlet, a bent prong can slip outside the inve rter and become a shock hazard.
WARNING: Shock hazard
Grip the inv e rter carefully when inserting or removing an A C plug. Keep you r finge rs cle ar of the AC ou tlet. Ensure that your fingers do not contact the prongs of an AC plug wh en the plug is pa rtia ll y in sid e th e in ve r te r.

CA UTION : Output non-sinusoidal
Some chargers for small nickel- cadmium batteries can be d am aged if conn ected to the XP ow er inv e rter. Do not use the inverter with the foll owing appliances:
Small battery-operated appliances like rechargeable flashli ghts, some rechargeable shavers, and night lights that are plugged direct ly into an AC recep tacl e to recharge.
Ba ttery chargers us ed in hand pow er too ls. These chargers display a warning label stating that dangerous voltages are present at the cha rge r batt er y ter m in al s.
CA UTIO N
Do not connect live AC power to the XPower inverter’s AC outlets. This will d amage th e inverter, and the damage i s not cove red by warranty. Do not connect any A C load th at has its neut ral conductor connected to ground to the XPower inverter.
