Benefits

A consumer has purchased a new digital satellite receiver

and quickly finds that it would be nice to see quality

movies or the latest sport news at night from the comfort

of his bed. X10’s Video Sender is the complete solution

to the consumer’s need providing simple plug in units to

transmit A/V signal to his bedroom. And with the IR

extender feature, you can remotely control your AV

source from the comfort of your bed, simply (no need to

pre-set at the satellite receiver).

The Room to Room Video Sender allows the user to both

view, hear and control satellite and other A/V systems

from any room in the house. The transmission of sounds

and pictures operates like this :

• The transmitter unit takes audio and video signals from

the satellite system, video disc player, cable box etc.

and converts them to RF.

• A receiver unit in another room converts the signals

back to their original format for connection to a TV or

AV system.

The Video Sender works with any infrared controller. The

receiver unit receives infrared pulses from remote controls

and re-transmists them as an RF signal at 433.92 MHz.

These transmissions are detected by the transmitter unit

which converts them back into infrared signals and sends

them to the video equipment.

2.4 GHz makes broadband FM modulation possible

without a loss in picture quality - even for video

applications which typically had required at least 5 MHz

bandwith to maintain excellent picture quality.
