AVISOS GERAIS DE SEGURANÇA DE FERRAMENTAS ELÉTRICAS

ATENÇÃO! Leia atentamente as seguintes instruções. A não

observância destas instruções pode causar choque elétrico, incêndio e/ou lesões graves.

Guarde estas instruções para referência futura.

Os termos “ferramenta elétrica” utilizados em todos os avisos constantes destas instruções referem-se à sua ferramenta elétrica acionada por corrente elétrica (com cabo de alimentação) ou ferramenta elétrica acionada por bateria (sem cabo de alimentação).

1. LOCAL DE TRABALHO

a) Mantenha o local de trabalho limpo

e bem arrumado. Áreas com pouca

iluminação e desordenadas podem provocar acidentes.

b) Não utilize o aparelho em locais onde

existam líquidos, gases ou poeiras inﬂamáveis e onde exista o risco de explosão. As ferramentas elétricas

produzem faíscas que podem inﬂamar poeiras ou gases.

c) Mantenha as pessoas e

particularmente as crianças afastadas da ferramenta elétrica durante o seu funcionamento.

Qualquer distração pode fazê-lo perder o controle da ferramenta.

2. SEGURANÇA ELÉTRICA

a) O Plugue da ferramenta deve

encaixar bem na tomada de alimentação. Nunca modiﬁque plugues elétricos, seja de que maneira for. Não utilize nenhum plugue de adaptação com ferramentas elétricas que tenham ligação a terra. Plugues não

modiﬁcadas e tomadas de corrente adequadas reduzem o risco de choque elétrico.

b) Evite o contato do corpo com

superfícies ligadas à terra como tubos, aquecedores, fogões,

geladeiras e tubulações. Existe um

aumento do risco de choque elétrico se o seu corpo estiver em contato com a terra ou a massa.

c) Não exponha este equipamento à

chuva ou umidade. A inﬁltração de

água num aparelho elétrico aumenta o risco de choque elétrico.

d) Utilize corretamente o cabo de

alimentação. Nunca utilize o cabo para transportar, puxar ou desligar o aparelho da tomada de corrente. Mantenha o cabo afastado de fontes de calor, óleos, arestas aﬁadas ou peças em movimento. Cabos

daniﬁcados ou modiﬁcados aumentam o risco de choque elétrico.

e) Quando trabalhar com uma

ferramenta elétrica ao ar livre, use um cabo de extensão adequado para utilização no exterior. A utilização de

um cabo adequado para uso exterior reduz o risco de choque elétrico.

f) Se não puder evitar a utilização

de uma ferramenta elétrica num local úmido, utilize uma fonte de alimentação protegida contra corrente residual. A utilização de um

dispositivo com proteção contra corrente residual reduz o risco de choque elétrico.

3. SEGURANÇA DE PESSOAS a) Esteja atento, observe o que está

fazendo e seja prudente sempre que trabalhar com uma ferramenta elétrica. Não utilize nunca uma ferramenta elétrica quando estiver cansado ou sob a inﬂuência de drogas, álcool ou medicamentos. Um

momento de desatenção quando se utiliza uma ferramenta elétrica pode causar lesões graves.

b) Utilize equipamentos de segurança.

Use sempre óculos de proteção.

Equipamentos de segurança, tais como máscaras protetoras, sapatos de sola antiderrapante, capacetes ou proteções auriculares devidamente utilizados reduzem o risco de lesões.

c) Evite o arranque acidental da

ferramenta. Certiﬁque-se de que o interruptor está desligado antes de ligar a ferramenta à fonte de alimentação e/ou à bateria, antes de pegar ou antes de a transportar. Se

mantiver o dedo no interruptor ou acionar o aparelho enquanto este estiver ligado podem ocorrer acidentes.

d) Remova qualquer chave de ajuste

antes de ligar uma ferramenta elétrica. Chaves ﬁxadas e outras peças

móveis na ferramentas podem causar lesões.

e) Não exceda as suas próprias

capacidades. Mantenha sempre o corpo em posição ﬁrme e de equilíbrio, o que lhe permite controlar

melhor a ferramenta elétrica em situações imprevistas.

f) Use roupa apropriada. Não use

vestuário solto ou artigos de joalharia. Mantenha o cabelo, vestuário e luvas afastados de peças em movimento. Roupas soltas, artigos

de joalharia ou cabelos compridos podem ser agarrados por peças em movimento.

g) Se forem fornecidos dispositivos para

a montagem de unidades de extração ou recolha de resíduos, Assegure-se de que sejam montados e utilizados adequadamente. A utilização dentes

dispositivos pode reduzir os perigos relacionados com a presença de resíduos.

4. UTILIZAÇÃO E MANUTENÇÃO DA

FERRAMENTA ELÉTRICA

a) Não force a ferramenta. Utilize

a ferramenta elétrica apropriada para cada aplicação. A utilização da

ferramenta elétrica apropriada executa o trabalho de forma melhor e mais segura, à velocidade para a qual foi concebida.

b) Não utilize esta ferramenta se o

interruptor não estiver em perfeitas condições de uso, não ligando ou desligando. Qualquer ferramenta elétrica

que não possa ser controlada pelo interruptor é perigosa e deve ser reparada.

c) Desligue o plugue da fonte de

alimentação e/ou remova a bateria

da ferramenta antes de proceder a qualquer ajuste, antes de trocar os acessórios ou antes de guardar a ferramenta. Estas medidas de segurança

preventivas reduzem o risco de acidentes com a ferramenta.

d) Quando não estiver usando a

ferramenta elétrica, guarde-a fora do alcance das crianças e não deixe que esta seja utilizada por pessoas que não a conheçam, nem tenham lido as instruções.

As ferramentas elétricas são perigosas nas

mãos de pessoas inexperientes.

e) Faça a manutenção de ferramentas

elétricas. Veriﬁque quaisquer desalinhamentos, encaixes de peças móveis, quebras e outras condições que possam afetar o funcionamento. Se esta ferramenta estiver avariada, mande-a reparar antes a utilizar.

Muitos acidentes são causados pela manutenção deﬁciente de ferramentas elétricas.

f) Mantenha as ferramentas de corte

limpas e aﬁadas. As ferramentas de

corte, discos de serra e outros acessórios com manutenção adequada e arestas de corte (ou dentes) aﬁadas têm menos probabilidades de bloquear e são mais fáceis de controlar.

g) Utilize a ferramenta elétrica,

acessórios, serras, etc. em conformidade com estas instruções e da forma prevista para este tipo especíﬁco de ferramenta, tendo em conta as condições presentes e o trabalho a executar. A utilização de

ferramentas elétricas para aplicações diferentes daquelas a que se destinam pode levar a situações de perigo.

5. ASSISTÊNCIA TÉCNICA a) A sua ferramenta elétrica só deve

ser reparada por um técnico de assistência qualiﬁcada e autorizada WORX e devem ser apenas utilizadas peças de reposição genuínas,

mantendo assim a segurança da ferramenta. Procure um centro de serviço autorizado.

INSTRUÇÕES DE SEGURANÇA

1. Mantenha todas as partes do

corpo longe da corrente de serra quando a serra corta galhos estiver funcionando. Antes de ligar a serra elétrica corta galhos certiﬁque se a serra (corrente de serra) não esteja em contato com nada. Esta precisa estar livre. Um simples momento de desatenção quando utilizando a serra elétrica corta galhos pode prender a roupa ou corpo do usuário.

2. Sempre segure o punho posterior da

serra elétrica corta galhos com a mão direita e o punho dianteiro com a mão esquerda. Utilizar essa ferramenta com as mãos trocadas (conforme instrução anterior) aumenta o risco de acidentes pessoais graves. Nunca utilize a serra com as mãos trocadas.

3. Segure a serra elétrica corta galhos

apenas pelas partes isoladas, uma vez que essa pode entrar em contato com ﬁos energizados escondidos ou com seu próprio cabo elétrico.

Quando a serra elétrica entrar em contato com um ﬁo energizado, essa pode transmitir energia elétrica para as partes metálicas da mesma, ocasionando choque elétrico ao operador.

4. Sempre utilize óculos de proteção

adequados e protetores auriculares. Também e recomendado a utilização de luvas de proteção, capacete, roupas de proteção para o corpo pernas, além de calcados de proteção adequados. O uso de roupas adequadas

e equipamentos de segurança reduz o risco de acidentes. Pedaços e partes de galhos podem ser jogados na direção do usuário, Muita atenção com a serra corrente.

5. Nunca utilize essa serra em uma

arvore. Utilizar a serra elétrica corta galhos em uma arvore pode causar graves acidentes ao usuário.

6. Sempre mantenha equilíbrio e

utilize calcados adequados. Utilize essa ferramenta apenas quando

estiver em superfície bem ﬁrme, ﬁxa e nivelada e regular. Superfícies

escorregadias, instáveis e que possam causar desiquilíbrio ou escadas podem causar perda de equilíbrio, queda e perda de controle sobre a serra elétrica corta galhos, causando sérios riscos de acidentes pessoais.

7. Quando for cortar um galho que esteja abaixo ou próximo aos ﬁos elétricos de transmissão tenha muito cuidado e analise a situação antes de efetuar o corte. Ao cortar um galho, esse pode voltar se contra o usuário da ferramenta, travar ou deixar a serra elétrica Jawsaw

fora de

controle.

8. Tenha muita cautela ao cortar galhos e pequenos troncos. Os pequenos galhos e folhas podem tocar a corrente, podendo atingir o operador ou provocar desiquilíbrio do mesmo.

9. Siga as instruções para lubriﬁcar a serra elétrica casa, veriﬁque a tensão da corrente e atenção para os acessórios. A corrente com tensão errada ou sem lubriﬁcação pode causar quebra ou causar golpe para trás ou travar.

10. Mantenha os punhos e locais onde se pode segurar a serra elétrica JawsawTM sempre limpos e livres de óleo e graxa. Punhos com óleo, graxa

ou outro material que impedem uma pega ﬁrme podem causar falta de controle da ferramenta e causar acidentes.

11. Corte apenas madeira. Não utilize a serra elétrica JawsawTM para cortar qualquer outro tipo de material, pois isso pode daniﬁcar a ferramenta e trazer risco de acidentes ao operador. Por exemplo: Não use a serra elétrica JawsawTM para cortar plásticos, tijolo, alvenaria, concreto ou material de construção. O uso indevido pode

daniﬁcar a ferramenta e trazer risco de acidentes ao operador.

12. Recomendamos utilizar Disjuntor diferencial para proteção, com disparo de corrente a 30mA contra choque elétricos.

INSTRUÇÕES DE SEGURANÇA PARA USO DA SERRA ELÉTRICA JAWSAWTM COM EXTENSOR

1. Nunca utilize essa ferramenta com ou sem o extensor caso o operador esteja cansado, doente, ou sobre inﬂuencia de alguma droga, medicamento ou álcool.

2. Para reduzir o risco de acidentes pessoais, mantenha qualquer pessoa for a do alcance da ferramenta e do local onde a mesma estiver cortando pequenas arvores ou galhos.

3. Antes de utilizar a ferramentas, certiﬁque se da posição que você esta e do galho ou tronco a ser cortado e a possível consequência e resultado do corte, pois galhos podem cair sobre o operador ou outras pessoas. Corte e remova os galhos em partes.

4. Mantenha se apoiado ﬁrmemente e em local que proporcione total equilíbrio

5. Mantenha a serra elétrica JawsawTM longe com boa margem de segurança de ﬁos elétricos situados acima ou próximos dos galhos e arvores.

UTILIZAÇĀO INDICADA/ PRETENDIDA

A serra para cortar galhos JawsawTM foi desenhado para cortar galhos e pequenos troncos de até 100mm em diâmetro. O uso não é designado para cortar metais ou proﬁssionalmente (ver ﬁg. A).

AJUSTES E MONTAGEM

AVISO: Antes de encostar na

corrente ou corrente de serra, ou fazer qualquer tipo de ajuste, certiﬁquese que a máquina esteja desligada e fora da tomada.

Todas as serras de correntes se desgastam e se tornam frouxas/soltas com o uso. Periodicamente veriﬁque a corrente de serra (11). Se tiver qualquer tipo de espaço visível entre a mesma e o suporte para a corrente de serra (10), a mesma deverá ser tensionada.

AVISO:

• Tirar o Jawsaw

da fonte de energia

antes de ajustar a tensão da corrente

• As serras de corrente são aﬁadas e

cortantes. Utilize luvas de proteção ao manipular.

Este produto vem montado por inteiro. Porém, recomenda-se que veriﬁque a tensão da corrente antes do uso e reajustada, caso necessário.

AJUSTANDO A TENSÃO DA CORRENTE

1. Pressione o punho traseiro(3) até que o

suporte para corrente de serra (10) esteja no meio da abertura. Trave o suporte para serra corrente na posição central, inserindo o pino plástico para travar o suporte (sabre) da corrente (17) na cavidade para pino plástico (18), localizado embaixo do punho traseiro/posterior (3)

(Ver Fig. B1-B3).

2. Abra a capa de acesso a regulagem da

corrente (12), usando a chave hexagonal. Para abrir gire a porca da capa de acesso a regulagem da corrente (13), não mais que ¼ de volta em qualquer dos sentidos.

(ver ﬁg. C).

3. Libere a tensão da corrente de serra (11), soltando a porca para tensionar corrente (15). Gire o mesmo no sentido anti-horário 2 ou mais vezes.

4. Para tensionar a Corrente de serra, gire a porca de tensionar a corrente no sentido horário. Quando estiver acertando a porca de tensionar a corrente, o sistema automático de tensionar a corrente irá determinar a tensão da corrente de serra simultaneamente.

Note: Não é possível super tensionar

a corrente de serra, portanto aplique o máximo de tensão possível.

5. Certiﬁque se a tensão da serra de corrente está ajustada adequadamente. Deverá ser possível afastar a corrente de serra da lateral do suporte para serra corrente (sabre), aproximadamente 1.6mm e, em seguida, a mesma deverá voltar a posição original. (Ver Fig. E).

AJUSTANDO A CORRENTE DE SERRA

ATENÇÃO!

• Perigo de laceração/corte. Sempre utilize luvas de proteção quando ajustando a corrente de serra. A corrente é aﬁada e pode cortar mesmo quando desligada.

• Perigo de queimadura. O suporte da serra corrente e a corrente podem ﬁcar quentes durante o uso. Permita que esfriem antes do manuseio.

Veriﬁque-se que a operação seja feita

sobre uma superfície estável.

Desconecte da força elétrica (da

tomada). Instale o pino plástico (17) e abra a capa de acesso a regulagem da corrente (12) como descrito na seção anterior.

Para trocar ou substituir uma corrente

de serra ou suporte para corrente de serra/sabre recomendamos levar a um posto de serviço autorizado Worx e utilizar apenas pecas e acessórios originais Worx.

LUBRIFICAÇÃO

IMPORTANTE: A JawsawTM traz um

recipiente para óleo vazio (bisnaga) e 100 ml de óleo lubriﬁcante. É essencial encher a bisnaga com o óleo lubriﬁcante antes do uso. Qualquer marca de óleo para corrente de serras pode ser usado. Nunca use o JawsawTM sem óleo lubriﬁcante para corrente de serra ou com o tanque vazio pois isto resultará em uma performance ruim, superaquecimento do motor e possível queima da serra.

ENCHENDO O TANQUE DE ÓLEO: Retire a ferramenta de qualquer tipo de rede elétrica antes do manuseio.

1. Encha a bisnaga com óleo lubriﬁcante de

corrente (ver Fig. F)

2. Posicione o JawsawTM para que o local de

entrada do óleo( 6) esteja para cima

3. Retire a tampa (g) para abrir

4. Utilize a garrafa para completar o

reservatório (ver ﬁg. G)

5. Feche a tampa (ver ﬁg. H)

IMPORTANTE: Use somente o

tipo de óleo recomendado para evitar danos ao JawsawTM. Nunca use óleo reciclado ou velho. O uso de óleo não aprovado irá invalidar a garantia do produto.

VERIFICANDO O ÓLEO LUBRIFICANTE

O JawsawTM funciona a uma velocidade menor que as serras elétricas convencionais. Portanto requer menos óleo. Porém é imprescindível que sempre haja óleo em seu reservatório. Veriﬁque no Indicador do nível de óleo (5) e reabasteça conforme a necessidade. Durante o uso, veriﬁque periodicamente a Serra de Corrente (11) e o suporte da corrente/ sabre (10). Uma pequena presença de óleo deverá ser visível. Se ambas as partes aparentarem completamente secas, remova a barra e corrente (ver próxima seção) para garantir que a abertura de óleo não esta bloqueada. Se a abertura estiver livre, há óleo no tanque

e o óleo na corrente ainda não está visível, entre em contato com o atendimento ao consumidor Worx.

AVISO: Não aperte o punho traseiro

repetidas vezes se a serra não estiver cortando. Óleo será injetado quando a alça for acionada, independentemente se houver funcionamento do motor.

OPERAÇÃO

PREPARE O SEU JAWSAWTM PARA USO

ATENÇÃO!

• Leia e entenda todas as instruções.

Não seguir todas as instruções listadas pode resultar em choque elétrico, incêndio e/ou lesões graves ao usuário.

• A Jawsaw

possui lâmina que cortam e se movimentam. Para prevenir qualquer tipo de acidente durante a operação, certiﬁque que a ferramenta esteja fora de fontes de energia elétrica antes de realizar as próximas operações. A falha ao realizar isto pode resultar em sérios ferimentos.

ATENÇÃO: Sempre utilize luvas de

proteção quando estiver ajustando a corrente, pois a corrente de serra (11) é aﬁada e pode cortar mesmo quando desligada.

AUTILIZANDO UMA EXTENSÃO ELÉTRICA (EXTENSÃO DE FIO)

1. Para prevenir desconexão do cabo, prenda

o cabo extensor na trava de extensão do cabo elétrico (21).

2. A trava de extensão do cabo elétrico é

fornecido para reduzir danos ao cabo elétrico. Para usar, forme uma alça no ﬁnal do cabo e passe pela abertura na parte de baixo do compartimento de retenção do cabo, em seguida, envolva a parte ﬁnal da alça no gancho e puxe para segurar.(ver Fig. I)

3. Garanta que o cabo esteja longe da serra

ou qualquer tipo de obstáculos a todo

momento. Não permita que o cabo entre em contato com calor, óleo, agua ou objetos aﬁados.

AVISO:

• Nunca opere a Jawsaw

que esteja daniﬁcada ou ajustada indevidamente, ou seja, não estando completamente montada e de maneira segura.

• Certiﬁque se que a corrente de serra pare quando o sistema de controle de energia estiver desligado.

• Nunca ajuste o suporte da corrente de serra (sabre) ou a corrente de serra quando e serra estiver conectado a uma fonte elétrica.

LIGANDO E DESLIGANDO

O interruptor(4) está travado para prevenir qualquer tipo de acionamento acidental. Há dois botões trava (2) para destravar o interruptor e permitir que a serra realize corte vertical (de cima para baixo) ou invertido (de baixo para cima). Para ligar, aperte o botão trava com o dedo polegar e aperte o Interruptor (ver ﬁg. J) Para desligar, apenas solte o Interruptor.

CORTANDO

Veriﬁque o visor do nível do óleo (5) antes de utilizar a Jawsaw

. Reabasteça se o nível estiver baixo. Se estiver operando uma serra recém trocada (11), veriﬁque a tensão da corrente a cada 10 minutos aproximadamente, durante a operação. Sempre segure o punho frontal (7) ﬁrmemente quando estiver cortando (ver Fig. K1, K2)

1. Conecte o Jawsaw

e o cabo de extensão

na tomada

2. Use ambas as mãos e segue a serra com

ﬁrmeza. Sempre use a sua mão esquerda (I) para pegar no punho frontal. Use a mão direita (II) para pegar na punho traseiro (3). Todos os dedos devem ter contato com os punhos (ver Fig. K1 e K2)

3. IMPORTANTE: Mantenha a posição dos

pés ﬁrme e estável. Não utilize o Jawsaw

enquanto em cima de estruturas instáveis ou em cima de uma escada.

DICA: Quando estiver cortando galhos que

já estiverem no chão, coloque um pé sobre

o galho para prevenir a movimentação e facilitar o trabalho(ver ﬁg. L).

AVISO! Não coloque o pé em nenhuma parte da serra Jawsaw

4. Mantenha o pé a uma distância segura da ferramenta (ver ﬁg. L)

Posicione a ferramenta para que a Carcaça

frontal com dentes esteja colocada em cima do galho a ser cortado.

ATENÇÃO:

• Não force o corte. Deixe a serra passar pela madeira.

• Quando ligar a serra, veriﬁque que a corrente não esta em contato com um galho ou madeira a ser cortada.

5. Ligue a ferramenta

6. Puxe o punho traseiro na direção do punho frontal para completar o corte

7. Desligue a ferramenta apos o suporte da corrente de serra (sabre) estiver voltado a posição inicial.

ATENÇÃO

• Quando estiver completando o corte (passo 6, acima) não empurre com força, deixe a corrente passar pela madeira livremente.

• Usar muita forca no punho traseiro quando estiver contando pode sobrecarregar o motor.

ATENÇÃO: Esteja preparado para suportar o peso da ferramenta no

ﬁnal de cada corte.

APARANDO GALHOS:

Antes de cortar qualquer galho, considere o seguinte:

1. O galho é pesado? Irá causar danos ao cair?

• Galhos grandes devem ser cortado em partes, começando pela ponta mais distante da árvore.

• Sempre veriﬁque onde o galho irá cair ANTES de começar o corte.

• Nunca se posicione embaixo do galho a ser cortado.

• Para prevenir rachadura, vire o Jawsaw

ao contrario para fazer um pequeno corte (menos de 1/3 de diâmetro do galho) na parte inferior.

• Vire o Jawsaw

na posição normal e corte de cima para baixo, um pouco depois do corte inicial inferior.

3. O galho esta’ sob tensão? Ele irá saltar de repente ou prender a serra quando for cortado?

• Sempre se mantenha longe do caminho do ganho sob tensão. Ele pode ser lançado a qualquer momento com força e causar ferimentos ou perda de controle da ferramenta.

• Sempre corte no sentido tensionado do galho, normalmente é a parte de cima da árvore, mas pode ser qualquer lado de um galho de uma arvore já no chão.

• Se o corte começar a entrar em direção a serra, você está cortado do lado errado, mantenha a serra ligada e puxe a serra para tirar a lamina do corte.

• Se a serra ﬁcar presa ou travada no galho durante o corte, não tente tirar com força excessiva. Levante o ganho para abrir o corte enquanto um assistente remove a serra.

SEGURANÇA COM POSSÍVEIS GOLPES PARA TRÁS

A corrente de serra esta protegida por uma proteção, porém golpe para trás pode ocorrer. Os passos a seguir irão reduzir o risco de golpes para trás.

• Use ambas as mãos enquanto a serra estiver ligada. Mantenha uma pegada ﬁrme. Todos os dedos devem estar segurando os apoios.

• Mantenha todos os itens de segurança no devido local. Certiﬁque-se que todos os itens estão de acordo com as normas de segurança.

• Não tente alcançar lugares difíceis.

• Mantenha uma pose segura e equilíbrio em todos os momentos do manuseio.

• Fique posicionado ligeiramente ao lado direito da serra. Isso evita que o seu corpo ﬁque na mesma linha da serra de corrente

• Não deixe a ponta do suporte da serra corrente encostar em objetos quando a corrente de serra estiver em movimento.

• Não realize cortes de topo ou de imersão e nunca corte galhos enterrados ou presos. Nunca corte raízes. Galhos e troncos precisam estar livres e soltos.

• Olhe para movimentação de madeira ou outras forças que possam pinçar ou prender/travar a corrente de serra.

• Tenha muita cautela quando estiver reintroduzindo um corte anterior

• Nunca use uma corrente de serra frouxa ou sem estar bem aﬁado. Mantenha a corrente de serra aﬁada e com a tensão apropriada.

USANDO O JAWSAW

• A corrente de serra deve estar na potência/ velocidade máxima antes de entrar em contato com a madeira. Use a Carcaça frontal com dentes (9) ﬁxar a serra à madeira antes de iniciar o corte (ver ﬁg . O)

• Não opere a Jawsaw

com os braços totalmente estendidos. Não tente serrar pedaços de difícil acesso, ou enquanto em cima de uma escada. (ver ﬁg. P)

• Cortando madeira sob tensão (ver Fig. Q)

ATENÇÃO: Quando estiver

cortando um galho que esta sob tensão, tenha muita cautela. Fique atento pois madeira pode saltar em sua direção. Quando a tensão da madeira for liberada, o galho pode saltar e atingir quem estiver manuseando, causando sérios ferimentos ou até morte.

Quando estiver serrando galhos de madeira apoiadas em ambas as extremidades, comece o corte de cima (Y) cerca de 1/3 de diâmetro pra dentro e então termine o corte (Z) por debaixo, para evitar contato do Jawsaw

com o chão. Quando estiver serrado galhos apoiadas em somente uma das extremidades, inicie o corte pela parte inferior (Y) aproximadamente 1/3 do diâmetro do galho e ﬁnalize o corte de cima para baixo (Z) para poder evitar uma rachadura da madeira ou que a serra trave.

DESMEMBRANDO UMA ÁRVORE (VER FIG. R)

Desmembrar signiﬁca remover galhos de uma arvore caída. Quando desmembrando, deixe os galhos maiores para apoiar o tronco fora do chão. Remova os pequenos membros em um único corte como ilustrado. Galhos que estiverem sob tensão no chão, deverão ser cortado de baixo para cima, para evitar danos ao Jawsaw

CORTANDO EM PEDAÇOS (VER FIG. S)

Para cortar pedaços ao longo do comprimento do galho, é importante que você tenha uma postura segura e que o peso do corpo esteja dividido igualmente em ambos os pés. Siga estas simples instruções para corte fácil.

AVISO: (VER FIG. T)

• Se estiver em uma decida, tenha certeza que o galho não ira’ rolar para baixo. Fixe o galho com estacas de madeira enﬁadas no chão. Fique na parte de cima do galho ou tronco a ser cortado. (Ver ﬁg. T)

• Nunca tente cortar por dois pedaços de madeira ao mesmo tempo. Isso pode aumentar o risco de golpe para trás.

• Enquanto estiver cortando um galho, nunca segure com a mão ou perna.

• Quando estiver cortando, não permita que outra pessoa segure o galho de madeira.

• Desligue e desconecte da tomada antes de se locomover de um lugar para o outro.

MONTAGEM DO EXTENSOR ( QUANDO USADO COM O ACESSÓRIO OPCIONAL)

ATENÇÃO: Antes de anexar o

Extensor para serra JawsawTM (20), certiﬁque se que a ferramenta esta desligada e desconectada da tomada.

1. Gire a alavanca de liberação para permitir

que grampo para o punho se abra (ver ﬁg. U1)

a um leve ângulo, afastado da ferramenta, insira a aba de aço na abertura(I) atrás do Punho frontal (7), em seguida balance o extensor para serra Jawsaw

4. Feche a trava. A alavanca irá ﬁxar-se automaticamente.

5. Veriﬁque se o punho traseiro esta devidamente encaixado na trava e veriﬁque que o punho esta posicionado no modo de trava corretamente

6. Connecte o ﬁo ao cabo de extensão ao Extensor para serra (ver ﬁg. U4)

AVISO

• Antes de conectar o ﬁo elétrico no cabo de extensão(1 in ﬁg.U4), tenha certeza de que a ferramenta esta desligada e desconectada da tomada.

• Quando estiver usando a maquina com o extensor para serra, conecte o cabo de extensão da maquina, ao o ﬁo elétrico do extensor de serra, e conecte o cabo do extensor a tomada.

RISCO DE ELETROCUSSÃO Nunca use o Jawsaw

ou a Extensão JawsawTM em lugares que tenham ﬁos elétricos expostos elevados ou em locais que ao cortar o galho, o mesmo entre em contato com um ﬁo elétrico. Isso pode ocasionar choque elétrico e consequente acidente grave.

galho a ser cortado. Mantenha pessoas ao redor, longe. Não ﬁque em cima de uma escada ou qualquer outro tipo de estrutura instável enquanto estiver usando a ferramenta. Não use a ferramenta perto de cabos os ﬁos elétricos ou ﬁos telefônicos. Mantenhase a uma distancia de 3 m dos cabos elétricos (ver ﬁg. W1-W4)

5. Posicione a Carcaça frontal com dentes

perpendicularmente ao galho sendo cortado.

NOTE: O diâmetro máximo de corte é

100mm.

6. Uma mão deverá segurar com ﬁrmeza

a alavanca de empurrar do extensor. A outra mão deverá segurar a parte de metal do extensor ou na alça de metal da viga (ver ﬁg. X).

7. Complete o corte como descrito em

“podando galhos”

8. Ao completar o corte, esteja preparado

para suportar o peso da ferramenta toda enquanto o cabo cai.

AVISO: não deixe o JawsawTM cair

no chão ao completar o corte, isto daniﬁcará a ferramenta.

MANUTENÇÃO DA MAQUINA E SEGURANÇA COM GOLPES PARA TRÁS.

Siga as instruções de manutenção deste manual. Limpe de maneira adequada a corrente de serra (11) e o Suporte para serra corrente/Sabre (10). Limpar o Jawsaw

geral, pode reduzir o risco de golpes para trás. Inspecione e conserve a serra após cada uso. Isso irá aumentar o tempo de vida útil da ferramenta. NOTE: mesmo com a amolação correta, o risco de golpes para trás poderá ocorrer cada vez mais a cada amolação.

MANUTENÇÃO E ARMAZENAGEM DO JAWSAW

1. Desconecte o JawsawTM da tomada:

2. Inspecione a serra antes e depois de cada uso para identiﬁcar:

• Qualquer sinal de estrago, principalmente do cabo elétrico(1)

• Movimento suave dos punhos e movimento do suporte de corrente de serra/sabre

• Tensão adequada da corrente; você deverá conseguir levantar a corrente do suporte para corrente de serra/sabre mais de 1.6mm.

• Veriﬁque por lubriﬁcação da corrente

3. Não utilize o Jawsaw

se:

• O interruptor (4) ou botão trava(2) não estiverem funcionando de maneira adequada.

• O Punho(empurrar) traseiro(3) não retornar de forma suave sob a forca da mola.

SUBSTITUINDO A SERRA DE CORRENTE/ SUPORTE PARA SERRA CORRENTE

Substitua a serra de corrente quando as pontas estiverem gastas, para serem aﬁadas ou quando a corrente quebrar. Use somente a corrente de substituição indicada neste manual. Sempre inclua um novo Catraca da corrente (16) quando estiver substituindo a serra de corrente. Isto irá garantir um bom funcionamento e direcionamento da corrente. Inspecione o suporte para serra corrente (10) antes de aﬁar a corrente . Um suporte para serra corrente/sabre gasto ou daniﬁcado, não é seguro. Um suporte para serra corrente/ sabre inseguro daniﬁcará a serra de corrente e diﬁcultará o corte. Para trocar o suporte para serra corrente/ sabre reﬁra-se a TROCANDO O suporte para serra corrente/sabre em Instruções de Ajustes e Montagem

AFIANDO A SERRA DE CORRENTE:

AVISO:

• Desconecte o JawsawTM da tomada

antes do manuseio. Ferimentos sérios e fatais poderão ser provocados por choques elétricos ou pelo contato da corrente em movimento.

• As pontas cortantes da corrente são aﬁadas. Use luvas protetoras quando estiver manuseando a corrente.

Mantenha a serra de corrente aﬁada. A serra irá cortar de forma mais rápida e segura. Uma corrente não aﬁada ira causar daniﬁcar a catraca da corrente(16), suporte para serra corrente/sabre(10), serra de corrente e desagaste do motor. Se você precisar usar força a Corrente de Serra na madeira e se o corte criar somente serragem com alguns pedaços grandes, a corrente precisa ser aﬁada.

LUBRIFICANDO A RODA DA CORRENTE: NOTE: Nao é necessário remover a corrente

ou suporte quando estiver lubriﬁcando a roda de serra

1. Limpe o suporte de serra corrente e roda de corrente

2. Usando uma bisnaga lubriﬁcante, insira a ponta no buraco de lubriﬁcação(h) e injete óleo até que apareça na ponta de fora da roda de corrente(ver Fig. AD)

3. Talvez seja necessário girar a roda de corrente(i) para poder engraxar todas as áreas da roda. Para fazer isto, puxe a serra corrente com a mão e gire a roda da roda de corrente e alinhe as partes da corrente que precisam ser engraxadas, com o buraco de lubriﬁcação. (ver Fig. AD)

LIMPEZA

Abra frequentemente a capa de acesso de corrente (12) e remoca qualquer tipo de detritos que se tornaram presos. Limpe regularmente o sistema de ventilação com um pincel limpo. Para limpar a ferramenta, utilize somente sabão neutro e um pano úmido. Nao deixe com que liquido entre dentro da ferramenta e nunca imergir qualquer parte em um liquido.

TRANSPORTE

Sempre transportar a ferramenta com suporte para serra corrente/sabre(10) e a serra corrente(11) dentro da proteção.

GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS

The term “power tool” in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.

1. WORK AREA SAFETY a) Keep work area clean and well lit.

Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.

b) Do not operate power tools in

explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of ﬂammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks

which may ignite the dust or fumes.

c) Keep children and bystanders

away while operating a power tool.

Distractions can cause you to lose control.

2. ELECTRICAL SAFETY a) Power tool plugs must match the

outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools.

Unmodiﬁed plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.

b) Avoid body contact with earthed or

grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators.

3. PERSONAL SAFETY

wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.

e) Do not overreach. Keep proper

footing and balance at all times. This

enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose

clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery

or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

g) If devices are provided for the

connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of

dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

4. POWER TOOL USE AND CARE a) Do not force the power tool. Use

the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will

do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.

b) Do not use the power tool if the

switch does not turn it on and off.

Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.

c) Disconnect the plug from the power

source and/or the battery pack from the power tool before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive

safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

d) Store idle power tools out of the

reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are

dangerous in the hands of untrained users.

e) Maintain power tools. Check for

misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly

maintained power tools.

f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.

Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.

g) Use the power tool, accessories

and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the

power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

5. SERVICE a) Have your power tool serviced by

a qualiﬁed repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will

ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

JAW SAW SAFETY WARNINGS

1. Keep all parts of the body away from the saw chain when the jaw saw is operating. Before you start the jaw saw, make sure the saw chain is not contacting anything. A moment of

inattention while operating jaw saws may cause entanglement of your clothing or body with the saw chain.

2. Always hold the jaw saw with your right hand on the rear handle and your left hand on the front handle.

Holding the jaw saw with a reversed hand conﬁguration increases the risk of personal injury and should never be done.

3. Hold the jaw saw by insulated gripping surfaces only, because the saw chain may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Saw chains contacting a

“live” wire may make exposed metal parts of the power tool “live” and could give the operator an electric shock.

4. Wear safety glasses and hearing protection. Further protective equipment for head, hands, legs and feet is recommended. Adequate

protective clothing will reduce personal injury by ﬂying debris or accidental contact with the saw chain.

5. Do not operate a jaw saw in a tree.

Operation of a jaw saw while up in a tree may result in personal injury.

6. Always keep proper footing and operate the jaw saw only when standing on ﬁxed, secure and level surface. Slippery or unstable surfaces

such as ladders may cause a loss of balance or control of the jaw saw.

7. When cutting a limb that is under tension be alert for spring back. When

the tension in the wood ﬁbres is released the spring loaded limb may strike the operator and/or throw the jaw saw out of control.

9. Follow instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning and changing accessories. Improperly tensioned

or lubricated chain may either break or increase the chance for kickback.

10. Keep handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease. Greasy, oily handles

are slippery causing loss of control.

11. Cut wood only. Do not use jaw saw for purposes not intended. For example: do not use jaw saw for cutting plastic, masonry or non-wood building materials. Use of the jaw saw

for operations different than intended could result in a hazardous situation.

12. Recommendation for the use of a residual current device with a tripping current of 30 mA or less.

FOR JAW SAW WITH THE EXTENDED POLE SAFETY WARNINGS

1. Do not use the machine when the operator is tired, ill or under the inﬂuence of alcohol or other drugs.

2. To reduce the risk, please keep bystanders at a safe distance from the machine during its operation.

3. Be aware of the dangerous of operating positions, as well as the risk of being struck by falling branches or branches that, having hit the ground, rebound, the operator may be struck by falling branches or by those that rebound after hitting the ground. Remove the branches in sections.

INTENDED USE

This JawsawTM has been designed for pruning branches and cutting small logs up to 100mm in diameter, not for cutting metals (See Fig. A).

ADJUSTMENT AND ASSEMBLY

WARNING: Before touching

the chain or making any other adjustments, make sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged.

All Saw Chains wear and become loose from operation. Periodically check the Saw Chain (11), if there is any visible gap between the chain and the Guide Bar (10), it must be retensioned.

WARNING:

• Unplug JawsawTM from power source

before adjusting saw chain tension.

• Cutting edges on chain are sharp.

Use protective gloves when handling chain.

This product comes fully assembled. However, we recommend that you check the chain tension before use and readjust if necessary.

ADJUSTING THE CHAIN TENSION

1. Push the Rear Handle (3) until the Guide

Bar (10) is in the middle of the jaw opening as shown. Lock the Guide Bar in the middle position by inserting the Lock Pin (17) found on the power cord into the Lock Pin Receptacle(18) located under the Rear Handle (3) (See Fig. B1-B3).

2. Open the chain access cover (12) by using

the supplied wrench. To open turn the Access Cover Nut no more than a 1/4 turn in either direction. (See Fig. C)

3. Release tension on the Saw Chain (11) by

loosening the Chain Tensioning Bolt (15). Turn the Chain Tensioning Bolt counterclockwise 2 or more times. (See Fig. D)

4. Add tension on the Saw Chain by turning

the Chain Tensioning Bolt clockwise. When tightening the Chain Tensioning Bolt the automatic chain tensioning system will set

the tension to the Saw Chain at the same time. NOTE: It is not possible to overtighten the Saw Chain, so tighten the chain as much as possible.

5. Check that the correct Saw Chain tension has been set. It should be possible to pull the Saw Chain away from the side of the Guide Bar approximately 1.6mm and it should snap back. (See Fig. E)

If tension is incorrect, repeat step 3,

ensuring the Guide Bar is free to move when the tension is released.

CHANGING THE GUIDE BAR AND SAW CHAIN

WARNING!

• Laceration hazard. Always wear

protective gloves when installing or removing the saw chain. The saw chain is sharp and can cut you even when it is not running.

• Burn hazard. The chain guide bar and chain may become hot during use. Allow to cool before adjustment or removal.

LUBRICATION

IMPORTANT: The JawsawTM is

shipped with an empty oil tank. It is essential to ﬁll with chain oil before use. Bar and chain oil of any brand can be used. Never operate the JawsawTM without chain oil or an empty tank as this will result in poor cutting performance, motor overload and possible burn-out.

FILLING OIL TANK: UNPLUG THE TOOL BEFORE FILLING WITH OIL.

1. Fill Oil Bottle (19) with chain and bar oil.

(See Fig. F)

2. Rest the JawsawTM with the Oil Filler (6)

facing upward

3. Uncrew the oil ﬁller cap (g) open.

4. Use bottle to ﬁll oil reservoir (See Fig. G).

5. Screw the oil ﬁller cap (See Fig. H).

IMPORTANT: Use only the

recommended oil to avoid damage to the JawsawTM. Never use recycled/ old oil. Use of non approved oil will invalidate the warranty.

CHECKING THE AUTOMATIC OILER

The JawsawTM uses a much lower chain speed than a conventional chainsaw so it needs much less oil. However it is very important that it always has oil. Check the Oil Level Window (5) and reﬁll as necessary. During operation, periodically check the Saw Chain (11) and Guide Bar (10). A slight oil presence should be visible. If the chain and bar appear completely dry, then remove the bar and chain (see previous section) to ensure the bar oil hole is not blocked. If the oil hole is clear, there is oil in the tank and still no oiling of the chain is visible – contact Worx customer service.

WARNING: Do not push the rear

handle repeatedly when the saw is

not cutting. The oil will be bumped out when pushing the handle whether the motor runs or not.

OPERATION

PREPARE YOUR JAWSAWTM FOR USE

WARNING!

• Read and understand all instructions.

Failure to follow all instructions listed may result in electric shock, ﬁre and/ or serious personal injury.

• Sharp moving blade. To prevent

accidental operation, ensure that the tool is disconnected from the power source before performing the following operations, failure to do this could result in serious personal injury.

CAUTION: Sharp moving blade.

Always wear protective gloves when installing or removing the chain, the Saw Chain (11) is sharp and can cut you when it is not running.

ATTACHING EXTENSION CORD

1. To prevent disconnection of appliance cord, secure extension cord to extension cord retainer.

2. An extension cord retainer is supplied to reduce strain on the power cord. To use this feature, form a loop at the end of the extension cable and bring this through the opening at the bottom of the Extension Cord Retainer, then wrap the end of the loop around the hook and pull to tighten. (See Fig. I)

3. Keep extension cord clear of the saw and any obstacles at all times. Do not expose the cord to heat, oil, water, or sharp edges.

WARNING:

• Never operate a JawsawTM that is damaged or improperly adjusted or that is not completely and securely assembled.

• Be sure that the saw chain stops

moving when the trigger switch (4)

released.

• Never adjust the guide bar or saw when the power cord is connected.

SWITCHING ON AND OFF

The Trigger Switch (4) is locked to prevent accidental starting. There are two Lock Out Buttons (2), to allow upright (cutting down from the top) or inverted (cutting up from the bottom) operation. To switch on, press either Lock Out Button with your thumb and squeeze the Trigger Switch (See Fig J). To switch off, just release the Trigger Switch.

CUTTING

Check oil level window (5) prior to starting and regularly during operation. Reﬁll oil when oil level is low. If operating with a newly replaced Saw Chain (11), check the chain tension around every 10 minutes during operation. Always hold the Front Handle (7) ﬁrmly when cutting (See Fig. K1, K2)

1. Connect the JawsawTM and extension cord to a power outlet.

2. Use both hands to grip saw ﬁrmly. Always

use your left hand (I) to grip the front handle and your right hand (II) to grip the Rear Handle(3). Thumbs and ﬁngers must wrap around saw handles (See Fig. K1,K2).

3. IMPORTANT: Make sure your footing is

ﬁrm and stable. Do not use the JawsawTM while standing on piles of branches or while standing on a ladder. HINT: When cutting branches which are lying on the ground, place one foot on the branch to prevent limb from moving (See Fig. L).

WARNING! Do not put your foot

in the Jaw teeth, keep your foot a safe distance from the tool. (See Fig. L)

4. Position the tool with the Jaw placed over the desired limb to be cut.

WARNING:

• DO NOT force the cut. Let the Saw Chain

pull through the wood.

• When starting the saw make sure the

chain is not in contact with the limb or branch to be cut.

5. Switch on the tool.

6. Push the Rear Handle towards the Front Handle to complete the cut.

7. Switch off the tool after the Guide Bar and Saw Chain have returned to their starting position.

WARNING:

• When completing the cut (step 6 above) do not push the handle forcefully, let the spinning Saw Chain pull itself through the wood.

• Using too much force on the Rear Handle when cutting can overload the tools motor.

CAUTION: At the end of each cut be prepared to support the tool’s

weight.

TRIMMING BRANCHES:

Before cutting any branch, you must consider the following:

1. Is the branch heavy, will it damage anything when it falls?

• Large branches should be cut in small

sections starting at the farthest end from the tree.

• Always check where the branch will fall BEFORE commencing the cut.

• Never stand under a branch being cut.

2. Will the branch split before it is cut through? (See Fig. M1, M2)

• To prevent splitting, turn the JawsawTM upsidedown and make a small cut (less than 1/3 diameter of the limb) from the underside.

• Then turn the JawsawTM over to the normal position and cut from top down, slightly further out from the trunk than the initial undercut.

3. Is the branch under tension, will it spring suddenly or trap the saw when it is cut?

• Always stand outside the path of a springy branch. It can strike suddenly with surprising force and cause injury or loss of control of the saw.

• Always cut from the tension side of a branch, usually the top of a branch on a standing tree, but can be any side of the branch of a fallen tree.

• If the cut starts to close on the saw, you are cutting from the wrong side, keep the saw running and pull the saw to retract the blade from the cut.

• If the saw becomes trapped do not try to pull it out with excessive force, lift the branch to open the cut while an assistant removes the saw.

KICKBACK SAFETY

This saws chain is covered by a guard, however kickback can still occur. The following steps will reduce the risk of kickback

• Use both hands to grip saw while saw is running. Use ﬁrm grip. Thumbs and ﬁngers must wrap around saw handles.

• Keep all safety items in place on saw. Make sure they work properly.

• Do not overreach.

•

Keep solid footing and balance at all times.

• Stand slightly to right side of saw. This keeps your body from being in direct line with Saw Chain.

• Do not let Guide Bar nose touch anything when the Saw Chain is moving.

• Do not bury Guide Bar nose or try to plunge cut (boring into wood using bar nose).

• Watch for shifting of wood or other forces that may pinch the Saw Chain.

• Use extreme caution when reentering a previous cut.

• Never use a dull or loose Saw Chain. Keep the Saw Chain sharp with proper tension.

PROPERLY USING THE JAWSAW

• Use the JawsawTM only with secure footing. Hold the JawsawTM at the righthand side of your body. (See Fig. N)

• The Saw Chain must be running at full speed before it makes contact with the wood. Use the metal Jaw Teeth (9) to secure the saw onto the wood before starting to cut. (See Fig. O)

• Do not operate the JawsawTM with arms fully extended or attempt to saw areas which are difﬁcult to reach, or on a ladder. (See Fig. P)

CUTTING WOOD UNDER TENSION (SEE FIG. Q)

WARNING: When cutting a limb

that is under tension, use extreme caution. Be alert for wood springing back. When wood tension is released, the limb could spring back and strike operator causing severe injury or death.

When sawing logs supported on both ends, start the cut from above(Y) about 1/3 of the diameter into the log and then ﬁnish the cut (Z) from below, in order to avoid contact of the JawsawTM with the ground. When sawing logs supported on only one end, start the cut from below (Y) about 1/3 of the diameter into the log and ﬁnish the cut from above (Z) in order to avoid log splitting or jamming of the tool.

LIMBING A TREE (See Fig. R)

Limbing is removing the branches from a fallen tree. When limbing leave larger lower limbs to support the log off the ground. Remove the small limbs in one cut as illustrated. Branches under tension against the ground should be cut from the bottom up to avoid binding the JawsawTM.

BUCKING A LOG (SEE FIG. S)

Bucking is cutting a log into lengths. It is important to make sure your footing is ﬁrm and your weight is evenly distributed on both feet. Follow the simple directions for easy cutting.

WARNING:(See Fig. T)

• If on slope, make sure log will not roll down hill. Secure log by using wooden stakes. Drive wooden stakes into ground on downhill side of log. Stand on uphill side of log while cutting. Log may roll after cutting. (See Fig. T)

• Never try cutting through two logs at same time. This could increase the risk of kickback.

• While cutting log, never hold log with your hand or leg.

• While cutting log, never allow another person to hold log.

• Turn off and unplug saw before moving from one place to another.

ASSEMBLING THE EXTENSION POLE (WHEN USED WITH OPTIONAL POLE ATTACHMENT)

WARNING: Before attaching the Extension Pole (20), make sure that

the tool is switched off and unplugged.

1. Turn the release lever to allow the handle clamp to spring open (See Fig. U1).

2. With the Extension Pole slightly angled away from the tool, insert the steel tab into the slot (I) behind the Front Handle(7), then swing the pole towards the tool’s Rear Handle(3) (See Fig U2).

3. Position the Extension Pole handle clamp inside the JawsawTM’s Rear Handle as shown in Fig U3. To allow the clamp to properly ﬁt the handle, push the lock out button and depress the trigger.

4. Close the clamp, the locking lever will automatically lock into place.

5. Check that the rear handle is properly ﬁtted to the clamp and check that the clamp is properly set in the lock position.

6. Plug in the tools power cord to the Extension Pole power cord .(See Fig. U4).

WARNING!

• Before attaching the power cord of the machine to the power cord of the Extension Pole ( in Fig. U4), make sure that the tool is switched off and unplugged from the power supply.

• When using this machine with the Extension Pole, make sure that attaching the power cord of the machine to the power cord of the extension pole, and then attach the power cord of the extension pole to power supply.

ELECTROCUTION HAZARD Never use the JawsawTM or Extension Pole in an area with overhead power lines or where the branch being cut can come into contact with overhead power lines.

CUTTING WITH SHOULDER STRAP (WHEN USED WITH OPTIONAL POLE ATTACHMENT) (SEE FIG. U5)

The Extension Pole is supplied with a shoulder strap that gives extra support when hoisting the JawsawTM in the air. Hook the shoulder strap to the Extension Pole and wrap around your shoulder. The shoulder strap can also soften the impact if the JawsawTM is dropped after the completion of a cut.

CUTTING WITH EXTENSION POLE (WHEN USED WITH OPTIONAL POLE ATTACHMENT)

1. Attached the Extension Pole as described in ‘’Assembling the extension pole’’.

2. Connect the JawsawTM to extension cord. Connect extension cord to power supply.

NOTE: The JawsawTM is quite heavy on the

end of the Extension Pole.

Add the Extension Pole attachment when

cutting limbs above shoulder height and remove the polen when cutting limbs at or below shoulder height.

3. Lift JawsawTM with Extension Pole upward one step by one step (See Fig. V). To raise to the vertical position, lift by the JawsawTM ﬁrst, then hand over hand along the pole.

4. Before cutting a high branch, consider all the same points detailed in the previous section “Trimming Branches” but pay particular attention to the likely path of the falling branch.

WARNING: Do not stand directly

below a branch being cut. Keep bystanders far away. Do not stand on a ladder or other type of unstable support

while using the tool. Do not use the tool near cable, electrical power or telephone lines. Keep 3m away from all power lines. (See Fig. W1-W4)

5. Position the Jaw perpendicularly on the branch being cut.

Note: Maximum cutting capacity of

JawsawTM is 100mm.

6. One hand should ﬁrmly grip the push handle of the Extension Pole. The other hand should hold the metal portion of the pole or the sliding handle on the pole (See Fig. X).

7. Complete the cut as described in “Trimming Branches”.

8. At the completion of the cut, be ready to immediately support the weight of the entire tool as the branch falls.

WARNING: Do not let the

JawsawTM fall to the ground at the completion of the cut, this may damage the tool.

SAW MAINTENANCE AND KICKBACK SAFETY

Follow maintenance instructions in this manual. Proper cleaning and maintenance of the Saw Chain (11) and Guide Bar (10), as well as the JawsawTM in general, can reduce chances of kickback. Inspect and maintain saw after each use. This will increase the service life of your saw. Note: Even with proper sharpening, risk of kickback can increase with each sharpening.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE OF JAWSAW

1. Unplug the JawsawTM from power source:

• When not in use.

• When transporting.

• When left unattended.

• Before servicing.

• Before ﬁtting the Extension Pole.

• Before cleaning.

• Before changing accessories or attachments, such as Saw Chain and Guard Bar.

2. Inspect the saw before and after each use for:

• Any signs of damage, especially the Power Cord (1).

• Smooth action of push handle and movement of bar.

• Adequate Chain Tension; you should be able to lift the Saw Chain from the Guide Bar no more than 1.6mm.

• Adequate chain lubrication.

3. Do not use the Jawsaw

, if:

• The Trigger Switch (4) or Lock Out Button (2) is malfunctioning.

• The Rear (Push) Handle (3) does not smoothly return under spring force.

• Any other damage which affects the safety or operation is evident.

4. Maintain the Jawsaw

with care and have any damage or malfunction repaired by an authorized service center:

• Never expose the Jawsaw

to rain.

• Keep Saw Chain sharp, clean, and lubricated for better and safer performance.

• Follow steps outlined in this manual to sharpen Saw Chain.

• Keep handles clean and free from oil.

• Keep all screws and nuts tight.

• Never carry the Jawsaw

by the Power

Cord.

• Never yank the power cord to unplug it.

• Keep power cord away from heat, oil and sharp edges.

• Inspect extension cords and do not use if damaged.

5. When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.

6. When not in use, always store Jawsaw

• In a high or locked place, out of children’s reach.

• In a dry place.

REPLACING SAW CHAIN/CHAIN BAR

Replace the Saw Chain when cutters are too worn to sharpen or when chain breaks. Only use replacement chain noted in this manual. Always include new drive Sprocket (16) when replacing the Saw Chain. This will maintain proper driving of chain. Inspect Guide Bar (10) before sharpening chain. A worn or damaged guide bar is unsafe. A worn or damaged Guide Bar is unsafe, will damage the Saw Chain, and will make cutting harder. For Replacing the Guide Bar please refer to

CHANGING THE GUIDE BAR AND CHAIN section in the Adjustment and Assembly Instructions.

SHARPENING SAW CHAIN

WARNING:

• Unplug JawsawTM from power source before servicing. Severe injury or death could occur from electrical shock or body contact with moving chain.

• Cutting edges on chain are sharp. Use protective gloves when handling chain.

Keep Saw Chain sharp. Your saw will cut faster and more safely. A dull Saw Chain will cause undue Sprocket (16), Guide Bar (10), Saw Chain, and motor wear. If you must force the Saw Chain into wood and cutting creates only sawdust with few large chips, then the Saw Chain is dull.

LUBRICATING THE CHAINWHEEL NOTE:

It is not necessary to remove the chain or bar when lubricating the chainwheel.

1. Clean the Guide Bar and chainwheel.

2. Using a grease gun, insert the tip of the gun into the lubrication hole (h) and inject grease until it appears at the outside edge of the chainwheel tip (See Fig. Y).

3. You may need to rotate the chainwheel (i) in order to grease all areas of the wheel. To do this, pull the Saw Chain by hand to rotate the chainwheel and align the parts of the wheel that needs to be greased with the lubrication hole. (See Fig. Y)

CLEANING

Regularly open the Chain Access Cover (12) and remove any debris that has become trapped. Regularly clean the ventilation slots with a clean, dry paint brush. To clean the tool, use only mild soap and a damp cloth. Never let any liquid get inside the tool and never immerse any part of the tool into liquid.

TRANSPORTING

Always transport the tool with the Guide Bar (10) and Saw Chain (11) inside the protection guard.
