Reading and storing the user manual

This user manual accompanies this multifunction tool. It contains
important information on setup and handling.

Before using the multifunction tool, read the user manual carefully.

This particularly applies to the safety instructions. Failure to comply
with this user manual may result in severe injury or damage to the multifunction
tool.

Store the user manual for further use. Make sure to include this user manual
when passing the multifunction tool on to third parties.

Proper use

The multifunction tool is only designed for private users in connection with
hobby and DIY projects for the following purposes:

• sawing, cutting, scraping and sanding various materials in
hard-to-reach areas.

Any other applications are expressly prohibited and are deemed improper use.
Neither the manufacturer nor the retailer can accept any responsibility for

injury, loss or damage caused by misuse of this product of any kind. Examples
of misuse are given in the following non-exhaustive list:

• Using the multifunction tool for other than the intended purposes;

• Failure to observe the safety instructions and warnings as well as the
assembly, operating, maintenance and cleaning instructions contained
in this user manual;

• Failure to comply with any regulations relating to accident prevention,
occupational medicine or safety, which specifically and/or generally
apply to the use of this multifunction tool;

• Use of accessories and spare parts not intended for the multifunction tool;

• Modifications to the multifunction tool;

Residual risks

Despite proper use, inconspicuous residual risks cannot be completely ruled out.
The following risks may arise due to the nature of the multifunction tool:

• Projection of parts or breakage of the sanding surface, the fitted tool or the
material being processed pose a risk of severe injury or blindness if the
prescribed protective goggles are not worn,

• Contact with sharp or hot parts of the workpiece or the fitted tool during
operation or while performing maintenance,

• Damage to hearing if the prescribed ear protection is not worn,

• Inhalation of particles produced whilst sanding the material as well as the
surface being sanded or polished.

General power tool safety warnings

Electrical safety

a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in

any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded)
power tools.

Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk

of electric shock.

b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as

pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators.

There is an increased risk

of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.

c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions.

Water entering

a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.

d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or

unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp
edges or moving parts.

Damaged or entangled cords increase the

risk of electric shock.

e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord

suitable for outdoor use.

Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use

reduces the risk of electric shock.

f) If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use

a residual current device (RCD) protected supply.

Personal safety

a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when

operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are
tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication.

A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in
serious personal injury.

b) Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection.

Protective equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard
hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce
personal injuries.

c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off- position

before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up
or carrying the tool.

Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch

or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.

d) Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power

tool on.

A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power

tool may result in personal injury.

e) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.

This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.

f) Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your

hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts.

Loose clothes,

jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

g) If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and

collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used.

Use of dust collection can reduce dust-related hazards.

Power tool use and care

a) Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your

application.

The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at

the rate for which it was designed.

b) Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off.

Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous
and must be repaired.

c) Disconnect the plug from the power source and/or the battery

pack from the power tool before making any adjustments,
changing accessories, or storing power tools.

Such preventive

safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.

d) Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not

allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions
to operate the power tool.

Power tools are dangerous in the hands of

untrained users.

e) Maintain power tools with care. Check for misalignment or binding

of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that
may affect the power tool’s operation. If damaged, have the
power tool repaired before use.

Many accidents are caused by poorly

maintained power tools.

f) Keep cutting tools sharp and clean.

Properly maintained cutting
tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to
control.

g) Use the power tool, accessories and fitted tools etc. in accordance

with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions
and the work to be performed.

Use of the power tool for operations

different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.

Service

a) Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using

only identical replacement parts.

This will ensure that the safety of

the power tool is maintained.

Operational safety instructions for your
multifunction tool

− Hold the multifunction tool by the insulated handles when performing
work where there is a risk of the fitted tool being used coming into
contact with hidden power lines. Contact with a live line could also
energize metallic parts of the device and inflict an electric shock.

− Always wear protective goggles and a dust mask when sanding;
especially when sanding overhead.

− Wear ear protection.

− Wear protective gloves when changing the fitted tools. Fitted tools
become hot after prolonged use.

− Use the multifunction tool only for dry sanding.

− Only use sand paper of the length that you need. Any paper
protruding from the sanding plate can cause serious injury.

− Only use the charger in dry indoor areas.

− Never expose the multifunction tool to high temperatures (heaters
etc.) or to the effects of the weather (rain etc.).

− Keep your hands away from the work area. Do not reach under the
workpiece. There is a risk of injury resulting from contact with the
saw blade or scraper.

− Grip the multifunction tool with two hands and maintain a stable
posture to avoid the risk of serious injury. When working with the
multifunction tool, always hold it firmly with both hands and provide
for a secure stance.

− Only scrape materials that have not been moistened (e.g. wallpaper)
and do not scrape on a wet base.

− Adopt a stance that prevents injury in the event of slipping off the
workpiece.

− Only use fitted tools that are in proper technical condition.

− Fitted tools may become extremely hot. After making a cut, do not
touch the fitted tool and make sure that the multifunction tool is kept
in a safe place once you have finished work.

− When working on masonry or ceilings, take note of the location of
electric pipes as well as water and sewage pipes.

− Never place the multifunction tool or the accessories on or near hot
surfaces (e.g. radiators).

Safety instructions for sanding paint

− Do not sand paints that contain lead. Determine whether the paint
you intend to sand contains lead before beginning work. Dust from
paints containing lead may cause lead poisoning.

− A special test or a commercial painting contractor can determine
whether a paint contains lead.
If in doubt, you should wear a special dust mask to protect you from
fine particles containing lead. Ask a qualified professional about this.

− Sanding coats of paint containing lead, various types of wood and
metals could produce hazardous or poisonous dust. Coming into
contact or inhaling the dust may pose a risk to the operator or nearby
persons. Wear suitable protective equipment to protect yourself
and nearby persons from coming into contact or inhaling this dust.
Normal dust masks do not provide proper protection.

− Do not allow children or pregnant persons to enter the room or work
area where you are sanding.

− Do not eat, drink or smoke while working. Clean your hands before
you eat, drink or smoke. Do not leave any food or beverages exposed
as there is a risk of dust accumulating in them.

− After sanding, thoroughly clean the surfaces of the work area.

Safety instructions for dust extraction

Dust from materials whose constituents include paint coats containing
lead, some types of wood, minerals and metal could be harmful to health.
Coming into contact or inhaling such dust could cause allergic reactions
and/or respiratory illness on the part of the user or persons in the
immediate vicinity. Certain dusts such as oak or beech dust are considered
carcinogenic, particularly in combination with wood treatment additives
(chromate, wood preservatives).

− Use a dust extractor.

− Use a special extractor to extract types of dust, which are particularly
harmful to health, carcinogenic or dry.

− Make sure the work area is adequately ventilated.

− Wear a P2 dust mask (filter class) when performing work that
produces dust. If the multifunction tool has a port for dust extractors
and/or dust collectors, connect the dust extractor to it.

− Observe the regulations in your country that apply to the materials
you intend to work on.

− When disposing of dust, be particularly careful as the dust of
some materials may be explosive. Do not dispose of sanding dust
in fire. Mixtures of dust particles containing oil or water could
spontaneously ignite over time.

Safety precaution for fire prevention

Keep an extinguisher on hand.

In the event of wood and paper fires: powder fire extinguisher (fire class ABC)
or foam fire extinguisher (fire class AB).

For electrical fires: carbon dioxide (CO

2

) fire extinguisher (fire class B).

Special safety precautions for persons with medical
implants

Every power tool generates an electromagnetic field during operation that may
interfere with the functioning of medical implants (e.g. pacemakers) under
unfavorable conditions.

Before working with the power tool:

• Consult a physician.

• Ask the manufacturer of your implant.

If you are not cautious when opening the packaging with a
sharp knife or other pointed objects, you may damage the
multifunction tool.

− Therefore, be careful when opening it.

1. Remove the packaging material.

2. Check whether the delivery is complete (see fig.A and B).

3. Check whether the multifunction tool or the accessories exhibit damage.
If this is the case, do not use the multifunction tool. Contact the manufacturer
at the service address specified on the warranty card.

Familiarizing yourself with the functional principle

The multifunction tool does not rotate the fitted tool; instead, it oscillates it back
and forth.

Familiarizing yourself with permissible materials

You can use the following tools to process the listed materials:

Plunge-cut saw blade

• Hard and soft woods

Scraper

• Layers of paint and lacquer

• Synthetic coatings

• Flexible floor coverings, e.g. carpets, linoleum

Segment saw blade

• Hard and soft woods

Sanding plate

• Hard and soft wood surfaces

• Layers of paint and lacquer

CAUTION!

Risk associated with oscillating moving parts!

If you accidentally switch the multifunction tool on, you could
injure yourself on the moving parts that are oscillating.

− Before mounting accessories, disconnect the
multifunction tool from the power supply.

right-handed and onto the right side if you are left-handed.

If you mount the tools incorrectly and they are therefore able
to come into contact with your hand during use, there is a risk
of injury.

− Do not mount the tools such that there is a possibility of
them coming into contact with your hand. For example:
Ensure that the blades are not pointing towards your hand.

Depending on the application, mount the tools listed below:

Plunge-cut saw blade

Example of use: Sawing slots (see fig. G).

2. Use the Allen wrench to tighten the Allen head screw. The washer is not
required to mount the sanding plate.

on the sanding plate so that they are aligned.

Push firmly so that the Velcro backing holds in place.

Getting started

1. Make sure that the multifunction tool has been properly prepared as
described in the chapter “Preparing the multifunction tool”.

2. Connect the multifunction tool to a power supply plug.

3. Switch the extractor on.

4. Use the On/Off switch

to switch the multifunction tool on.

5. Use the speed control

to adjust the speed (see fig. F).

Set the speed control to level 1 for low vibration (oscillation) and to level 6 for
intense vibration (oscillation). Make sure that you use the correct speed for
the work material or test various speeds on the work material to determine
the correct one.

6. Hold the multifunction tool up to the workpiece.

You can now process the workpiece.

Finishing work

1. Take the multifunction tool out of the workpiece.

2. Use the On/Off switch

Water that has penetrated the housing may cause a short
circuit.

− Never submerge the multifunction tool in water.

− Make sure that no water penetrates the housing.

NOTICE!

Risk of damage!

Improperly cleaning the multifunction tool and the tools may
lead to damage.

− Do not use any aggressive cleaners, brushes with metal or
nylon bristles or sharp or metallic cleaning utensils such as
knives, hard scrapers and the like.

After every use

1. Before cleaning, pull the power plug

2. Let the tool cool off completely.

3. Unlock the extractor line

4. Use a soft brush or compressed air to clean the extractor line, the housing
and the inside thread

5. Wipe the housing off with a damp cloth if heavily soiled.

6. Attach the extractor line to the multifunction tool again.

Improper storage or transport of the multifunction tool could
damage it.

− Store and transport the multifunction tool in a clean, dry and
frost-free location. Always use the enclosed storage bag to
store and transport the multifunction tool and the accessories.
Other storage locations and transport possibilities do not
adequately protect the multifunction tool.

have the multifunction tool repaired by authorized
qualified professionals. For this, contact the manufacturer
at the service address specified on the warranty card.
Electric and mechanical parts, which are essential for
providing protection against sources of danger, are
contained in this multifunction tool.

− Do not attempt to perform any repairs by yourself.

− If the connection line is damaged, you must – in order to
avoid risks – have it replaced by the manufacturer or its
customer service representative.

Troubleshooting

Some malfunctions may be caused by minor faults, which you can resolve
yourself. Follow the instructions in the following table for this.

If it is still not possible to resolve the problem with the multifunction tool,

In order to make a claim under the warranty, please send us:

The warranty does not cover damage caused by:

• Accident or unanticipated events (e.g. lightning, water, fire).

• Improper use or transport.

• Disregard of the safety and maintenance instructions.

After the expiry of the warranty period, you still have the possibility to have

Uso apropiado

La herramienta multifuncional está indicada exclusivamente para el usuario
privado del ámbito de bricolaje, y para los siguientes fines:

• para serrar, cortar, rascar y lijar diferentes materiales en lugares de difícil
acceso

Quedan expresamente excluidos todos los demás usos que se considerarán
inapropiados.

Riesgos residuales

herramientas eléctricas

No respetar las instrucciones e indicaciones de seguridad puede provo­car descargas eléctricas, incendios y/o lesiones graves.

Guarde todas las instrucciones e indicaciones de seguridad para el

El término “herramienta eléctrica” empleado en las indicaciones de
seguridad se refiere a las herramientas eléctricas que funcionan con la red
(con cable de red) y a las que funcionan con batería (sin cable de red).

Seguridad en el lugar de trabajo

a) Mantenga el lugar de trabajo limpio y bien iluminado.

Los espacios

de trabajo desordenados o mal iluminados pueden provocar accidentes.

b) No trabaje con la herramienta eléctrica en entornos potencialmente

explosivos donde haya líquidos, gases o polvos inflamables.

Las
herramientas eléctricas generan chispas que pueden prender el polvo
o los vapores.

c) Mantenga a niños y demás personas alejados durante la utili-

zación de la herramienta eléctrica.

En caso de distracción, puede

perder el control del equipo.

Seguridad eléctrica

a) El enchufe de la herramienta eléctrica debe ser apto para la toma

de corriente. El enchufe no se puede modificar de ninguna manera.
No utilice un enchufe adaptador con herramientas eléctricas con
protección de tierra.

Los enchufes inalterados y las tomas de corriente

adecuadas reducen el riesgo de descarga eléctrica.

b) Evite el contacto corporal con superficies conectadas a tierra como

tubos, calefacciones, cocinas y refrigeradores.

Existe un riesgo ele-

vado de descarga eléctrica si su cuerpo está puesto a tierra.

c) Mantenga las herramientas eléctricas alejadas de lluvia o hume-

dad.

La entrada de agua en una herramienta eléctrica aumenta el

riesgo de descarga eléctrica.

d) No use el cable para sostener la herramienta eléctrica, colgarla ni

para tirar el enchufe de la toma de corriente. Mantenga el cable
alejado de calor, aceite, bordes afilados o piezas del equipo en
movimiento.

Los cables dañados o enredados incrementan el riesgo

de descarga eléctrica.

e) Si trabaja con una herramienta eléctrica al aire libre, utilice solo

cables de extensión aptos también para exteriores.

El uso de un
cable de extensión adecuado para exteriores reduce el riesgo de des­carga eléctrica.

f) Si resulta inevitable emplear la herramienta eléctrica en un entorno

húmedo, utilice un interruptor diferencial residual.

La utilización
de un interruptor diferencial residual aminora el riesgo de descarga
eléctrica.

Seguridad de las personas

a) Preste atención a lo que hace y actúe con sensatez al trabajar con

una herramienta eléctrica. No utilice ninguna herramienta eléctrica
si está cansado o si se encuentra bajo la influencia de drogas, alco­hol o medicamentos.

Un momento de falta de atención durante el uso

de la herramienta eléctrica puede conllevar lesiones serias.

b) Utilice equipos de protección individual y gafas de protección

siempre.

El uso de equipos de protección individual como máscaras
antipolvo, calzado de seguridad antideslizante, casco protector o pro­tección auditiva, según el tipo y uso de la herramienta eléctrica, reduce
el riesgo de lesiones.

c) Evite una puesta en marcha involuntaria. Asegúrese de que la

herramienta eléctrica esté apagada antes de conectarla al suministro
eléctrico y/o la batería, de agarrarla o de sostenerla.

Si mantiene el
dedo en el interruptor al tomar la herramienta eléctrica o si conecta el
equipo en modo encendido al suministro eléctrico, se pueden producir
accidentes.

d) Retire las herramientas de ajuste o llaves antes de encender la

herramienta eléctrica.

Una herramienta o llave que se encuentre en

una pieza giratoria del equipo puede provocar lesiones.

e) Evite las posturas corporales extrañas. Busque una posición segura

y mantenga siempre el equilibrio.

Así podrá controlar mejor la herra-

mienta eléctrica ante situaciones inesperadas.

f) Utilice ropa adecuada. No emplee prendas o joyas holgadas.

Mantenga el cabello, la ropa y los guantes alejados de las piezas
en movimiento.

Las prendas y joyas sueltas o el pelo largo, pueden

quedar atrapados por las piezas móviles.

g) Si se pueden montar equipos de recogida y aspiración de polvo,

asegúrese de que estén conectados y de que se empleen bien.

La
utilización de un sistema aspirador de polvo puede reducir los riesgos
derivados del polvo.

Utilización y manejo de la herramienta eléctrica

a) No sobrecargue el equipo. Emplee la herramienta eléctrica idónea

para la tarea.

Con la herramienta eléctrica adecuada, trabajará mejor

y con mayor seguridad dentro del ámbito de aplicación concreto.

b) No use ninguna herramienta eléctrica cuyo interruptor esté defec-

tuoso.

Una herramienta eléctrica que no se pueda encender o apagar

más, es peligrosa y se debe reparar.

c) Extraiga el enchufe de la toma de corriente y/o retire la batería

antes de emprender ajustes en el equipo, cambiar accesorios o
depositar el equipo.

Esta medida de precaución evita el arranque

involuntario de la herramienta eléctrica.

d) Guarde la herramienta eléctrica que no esté en uso fuera del alcance

de los niños. No deje usar el equipo a personas que no estén fami­liarizadas con su uso y que no hayan leído estas instrucciones.

Las
herramientas eléctricas son peligrosas si son empleadas por personas
sin experiencia.

e) Cuide las herramientas eléctricas con esmero. Controle si las piezas

móviles funcionan bien y no se atascan, y si las piezas están rotas
o dañadas de forma que pueda verse influido el funcionamiento
de la herramienta eléctrica. Mande reparar las piezas dañadas an­tes de usar el equipo.

Muchos accidentes son fruto de herramientas

eléctricas en mal estado.

f) Mantenga las herramientas de corte afiladas y limpias.

Las herra­mientas de corte bien cuidadas con bordes de corte afilados se atascan
menos y son más fáciles de dirigir.

g) Utilice la herramienta eléctrica, los accesorios, los insertos, etc.

conforme a estas instrucciones. Tenga en cuenta las condiciones
de trabajo y la actividad realizada.

El uso de herramientas eléctricas
para otras aplicaciones diferentes a las previstas puede comportar
situaciones peligrosas.

especializado cualificado y solo con repuestos originales.

Así se

garantiza que se mantenga la seguridad de la herramienta eléctrica.

Indicaciones de seguridad para herramientas
multifuncionales

− Sujete la herramienta multifuncional por las superficies de agarre
aislantes si realiza tareas donde el inserto pueda toparse con
conductos eléctricos ocultos. El contacto con una línea conductora
puede exponer las piezas metálicas del equipo a la tensión y
provocar así una descarga eléctrica.

− Utilice siempre gafas protectoras y máscara antipolvo en las tareas
de lijado, sobre todo al hacerlo por encima de la cabeza.

− Utilice protección auditiva.

− Use guantes protectores al cambiar los insertos. Los insertos se
calientan cuando se usan mucho tiempo.

− No emplee la herramienta multifuncional para lijar en húmedo.

− Utilice solo papel abrasivo con la longitud que necesite. El papel que
sobresalga de la placa lijadora puede provocar lesiones serias.

− Utilice el cargador solo en interiores secos.

− La herramienta multifuncional no ha de exponerse nunca a altas
temperaturas (calefacción, etc.) o inclemencias meteorológicas
(lluvia, etc.).

− Mantenga las manos fuera de la zona de trabajo. No ponga las
manos debajo de la pieza de trabajo. En caso de contacto con la hoja
de la sierra o el rascador, existe peligro de lesión.

− Al trabajar, sujete la herramienta multifuncional fuertemente con
ambas manos y busque una posición segura. La herramienta
multifuncional se maneja de forma más segura con las dos manos.

− No rasque materiales humedecidos (p. ej. papel pintado) ni sustratos
húmedos.

− Mantenga una postura corporal que evite las lesiones en caso de que
se resbale la pieza de trabajo.

− Utilice únicamente insertos en perfecto estado.

− Los insertos se pueden calentar mucho. Tras cortar, no toque el
inserto y asegúrese de que la herramienta multifuncional quede en
un lugar seguro tras acabar la tarea.

− En trabajos de albañilería o en techos, tenga en cuenta sobre todo
por dónde pasan los conductos eléctricos, de agua y de desagüe.

− No coloque la herramienta multifuncional o los accesorios sobre
superficies calientes o cerca de las mismas (p. ej. radiadores).

Indicaciones de seguridad para lijar pintura

− No lije pinturas con plomo. Determine si la pintura lijada contiene
plomo antes de empezar a trabajar. El polvo de la pintura con plomo
puede provocar intoxicaciones.

− Una prueba especial o un pintor profesional pueden precisar si la
pintura contiene plomo.
En caso de duda, debería usar una máscara antipolvo especial contra
el polvo fino de plomo. Consulte a un especialista.

− Al lijar capas con plomo, algunos tipos de madera y metales, se pueden
generar polvos nocivos o tóxicos. El contacto o la inhalación del polvo
pueden suponer un riesgo para el usuario o para las personas cercanas.

Las personas próximas, incluido usted, se deben proteger frente
al contacto o la inhalación de estos polvos usando equipos de
protección individual adecuados. Las máscaras normales para polvo
no son seguras.

− No deje que niños y embarazadas accedan al espacio y el lugar de
trabajo donde se efectúa el lijado.

− Prohíba comer, beber y fumar durante las tareas. Límpiese las manos
antes de comer, beber o fumar. No deje comida y bebida expuestas,
pues existe el peligro de que se deposite el polvo encima.

− Tras lijar, limpie minuciosamente las superficies del área de trabajo.

Indicaciones de seguridad para la aspiración del polvo

El polvo de materiales con capas de plomo, algunos tipos de madera,
minerales y metales, pueden resultar nocivos para la salud. El contacto o
la inhalación del polvo pueden provocar reacciones alérgicas y/o
enfermedades respiratorias del usuario o de las personas próximas. Ciertos
polvos, como el de roble o haya, son cancerígenos, sobre todo en
combinación con aditivos para el tratamiento de la madera (cromato,
protectores de madera).

− Emplee un sistema de aspiración del polvo.

− Al aspirar polvo especialmente peligroso para la salud, cancerígeno o
seco, utilice un aspirador especial.

− Procure una buena ventilación en el lugar de trabajo.

− Use una máscara antipolvo con clase de filtro P2 en tareas donde
se genere polvo. Si la herramienta multifuncional está equipada
con una conexión de sistemas de aspiración y/o recogida de polvo,
conecte dicho sistema de aspiración de polvo.

− Tenga en cuenta las disposiciones vigentes en su país para
materiales procesados.

− Tenga mucho cuidado al desechar el polvo, pues algunos materiales
en polvo pueden ser explosivos. No tire el polvo lijado al fuego.
Las mezclas de partículas en polvo con aceite o agua pueden
autoinflamarse con el tiempo.

Medida de seguridad de protección contra incendios

Tenga preparado un extintor.

Para incendios de madera y papel: extintor de polvo (clase de fuego ABC) o de
espuma (clase de fuego AB).
