Assembly and Installation Instructions for Knockdown Guards

Models BA & FA

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

1. Loosely attach guard sides to each of the adjoining
guard sides using supplied sheet metal screws and
guard mounting brackets. (See Inset A). Some
sizes have one guard mounting bracket per corner,
other sizes have two per corner.

2. Loosely install the center support on two piece
guard tops (Sizes above 48”), as shown in Inset C.

3. Position guard top such that slots in the guard top
align with clips in the guard brackets. Loosely

CAUTION! Guards must be installed when fan is within
reach of personnel or within seven (7) feet (2.134m) of
working level or when deemed advisable for safety.

install supplied bolts and washers in all slots as
shown in Inset B.

4. Two piece guard tops (Sizes above 48”) have
overlapping panels on the guard top and are
assembled as shown in Inset D. Bolts should be
left loose.

5. Tighten all bolts.

6. Tighten all loose screws.

Your guard is now ready to attach to the fan.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1. Attach guard mounting brackets to the fan using
supplied 1/4 x 20 x 3/4 bolts and nuts. (Fig.1)

2. Note that the mounting brackets have three holes:
Slide the supplied Tinnerman clip in place over the
correct hole on all guard mounting brackets. (Fig. 3)

The choice of hole should be made to provide no
more than 1/2 inch gap between the fan and the
edge of the guard. (Fig. 2)

3. Slide the assembled guard over the guard mounting
brackets. Attach with supplied 1/4 x 20 x 3/4 bolts
and flat washers. (Fig. 1)
